House of Empanadas

10/10!!! I ordered through Uber Eats as a birthday gift for my mom, who’s been reminiscing a lot about her childhood in Argentina. The empanadas smelled amazing and tasted even better. The dough was light and flaky, and the beef filling was incredibly flavourful. We still have more flavours to try, which I’m already excited about! The alfajores were increíble — truly outstanding. So happy to have found a place where I can get them fresh now. Highly recommend!

I found House of Empanadas on Uber Eats and decided to try the box of 12 on a whim and I’m glad I did. I sampled a bunch of different flavours like chicken, beef, blue cheese, chorizo and cheese and more. A little on the pricey side but totally worth it for the quality. The empanadas were flavourful and the dipping sauce really complimented them well. A bit salty for my taste but overall they’d be a great buy to bring to a party or get-together. My favourites were the ham and cheese and pepperoni and cheese, super satisfying. I also appreciated the packaging. It was aesthetically pleasing and the labels were nicely designed which made it easy to know what was what. I’d definitely consider ordering again for a special event or occasion.

I ordered 3 dozen of empanadas here for Christmas Eve dinner as appetizers. They were good portion sized and they gave us a variety of their dips. I especially enjoyed the beef empanadas. They were very quick and easy to work with. Fast communication and prompt service. Will come back and highly recommend.

TLDR: Have wanted to try their empanadas for a long time and work was comping meals so I finally did by ordering through UberEats -[BEEF] (5/10) 🍖 Beef, onions, red peppers, green olives, eggs, spices 🍖 I like olives but this tasted mostly of only olives?? -[FISH] (5/10) 🐟 White tuna, mackerel, green - yellow - red peppers, black olives, spiced 🐟 This one had a VERY slight fishy flavor but was again, mostly very olive forward in flavor -[CHEESE & ONIONS] (10/10) 🧀 Mozzarella cheese, onions 🧀 This shocked me in how tasty it was with just two ingredients but I loved it 🚨 THE NEXT THREE WERE KEPT IN THE FRIDGE BEFORE I TOOK THEIR CROSS SECTION SHOTS 🚨 -[STEAK & PROVOLONE CHEESE] (6/10) 🥩 Steak, provolone cheese, spices 🥩 Not amazing but also not the worst - a stronger cheese might improve this one for me -[PEPPERONI & CHEESE] (8/10) 🍕 Mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, tomato sauce 🍕 Like a good version of a pizza pocket haha but some more seasoning could take this ro a perfect 10 for me -[HAM & CHEESE) (10/10) 🧀 Mozzarella cheese, cooked ham 🧀 Love a good old ham & cheese so seeing and biting into ham cubes for this one made my day The chimichurri sauce had HUGE whole peppercorns in it which made the sauce not as enjoyable. I love pepper but not like this 🥲 The smoky aioli was very good though 😄 I'd give the place another try but preferably in person I think so that I can try them fresh!

The empanadas were flaky and the fillings were plentiful! The chicken and fish options were both well seasoned. Even the packaging was a treat to open! 🎁

Just loved these empanadas, fresh made, great filling options and the pastry part was light and all of it fresh made. Definitely will be back for more.

Just awesome food. Nicest most helpful staff ever. Freeze well. Reheat perfectly in air fryer. Had Argentinian empanadas in Spain and fell in love. These are just as delicious. Quality ingredients handmade with care. Going to order two dozen to take home next time I’m nearby.

We recently elected to have House of Empanadas cater our holiday office lunch. The delivery of the massive order went smoothly and was on time. The staff member who brought everything in was punctual, respectful, and very nice, and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all staff with glowing reviews. A very big thank you to House of Empanadas for helping make our holiday party come together!

Quite possibly the cutest walk-up window to a food production facility. Definitely the cutest in the Bermondsey light-industrial corridor in East York. The empanadas are made fresh so despite the welcoming window, you do need to order in advance. Twenty minutes usually gives them enough time to make you a fresh batch. I got a dozen assorted and was impressed by the design-forward packaging and presentation. Friendly service too. The empanadas were really nice. The pastry is flakey but holds together very well. The fillings come in lots of varieties, veg, vegan, and meat. The corn one is a sweet treat. The chicken was tender and flavourful. They provide some sauces that are quite tasty so it's worth asking for extra. I would have liked more heat but easy enough to add your favourite hot sauce after you bite into one. At $43 per dozen, it's about $3.75 per piece, which, pound for pound, is more expensive than pizza or samosas but worth it for something different and as close to home made as you can get from a production kitchen.

Tried a few Empanadas, the pastry shells were very buttery and flaky, the chicken filling was delicious, the sauces just took it to the next level! Cheese and ham filling tasted very salty (I usually like saltier taste, but this is some next level saltiness, not sure if it's just a bad batch since they aced the chicken's taste). This was a take out, so can't comment on service and ambiance.

Wow, I think I'll just pack up my things and move into the House of Empanadas. Who knew the best empanadas in the city would come from a takeout spot and in a (beautifully laid out and labelled) cardboard box? Had a box of 12 empanadas delivered and they came nice and warm. Got beef, chicken, spinach, nutella, apple, and a wacky cheese-bacon-prune flavour. I'm not exaggerating when I say there wasn't a miss in the bunch. The empanadas were golden brown, properly flaky, and super buttery. They were all generously stuffed with tasty fillings. If I had to rank, I guess for the sweet ones, I preferred the apple to the nutella. And for the savoury ones, hmmm, this is tough. I guess it'd be cheese-bacon-prunes, beef, chicken, then spinach. But again, I really loved all of them. The aioli sauce that came with was also really good - super smoky and went well with all the savoury empanadas. Added an alfajores to cap it all off and I liked that as well - powdery, chewy and just on the right side of sweet. As you can see, I'm a huge fan of House of Empanadas and will be taking permanent residence in it from now on.

Not sure if they were having an off day or something but these empanadas were genuinely terrible. I'm not sure if there's a ghost kitchen using their name on Ubereats or what, but I was actually shocked at how bad these were considering their reviews and beautiful the presentation. No flavour at all. The guacamole tasted like it had mayonnaise in it (?) and was served with pita chips.

House of Empanada will be my go-to takeout spot when I go to Home Depot Curity. Discovered this place from Sunday Farmers' market at Greenwood Park. Staff at the booth kindly hinted me that if I pick up from their store, it will be a lot less $$$$ ( It was almost double the prics at Lealie Farmers Market) Was very impressed by their packaging and each printed label first. Thought it could be a nice looking edible gift. Each empanadas was very fresh, flaky and soft. Filling was all yummy but my favorite has to be chicken & beef. You can also purchase frozen empanadas to bake at home.

Best Empanadas I ever tasted. I bought 6 and ate 3 in the car. The chimichurri sauce takes it to the next level. I will have to try the sweet empanadas next time.

These empanadas are awesome! We've only ever ordered and have never visited the store in person but it always comes piping hot and in a great box with little tags telling us which empanadas we got. I'm a big fan of their chimichurri sauce as well, which you can order a jar of if you like it as much as I do. They just do empanadas, and they do them well. There are some really unique flavours and combinations and I have not been displeased with any of them so far. Mu favourites have been the spinach cheese, chicken, beef, and...well actually I like all of them! We've even tried their dessert ones (nutella and apple) both of which are surprisingly good. They're great at making the pastry. Definitely recommend!

Amazing empanadas and presentation for your delivery order! They are not gluten-free but they are 100% full of flavour :-)

My friend recommended this place and OMG she was not wrong! The flavours were amazing, portion decent size and great service! The dough is soooo good!!!

Order from here on Uber. Delivery driver said he saw them baking the empanadas fresh and I can definitely tell. I got the beef and it was super flavourful, flaky and juicy. Highly recommend
