Stumbled upon this shop in Dublin by chance, and was instantly drawn to the entire wall of exquisite badges! These badges come in various styles, featuring the coats of arms of different families or organizations. They exude a profound sense of history and a unique cultural flavor. The shopkeeper has carefully arranged them, as if telling one story after another. While wandering around, it feels as if you can touch the historical context of Ireland. For badge enthusiasts or those who love niche cultures, this place is like a hidden gem. It allows people to immerse themselves in the charm of badge art. After visiting, I can’t help but exclaim that this encounter is truly worthwhile. It has also deepened my appreciation for the unique culture of Dublin.

Decades ago my grandfather purchased family crests here for all his sons. Now that his sons have children, I being one of them, we wanted to share in the beautiful heritage of owning a family crest and hanging it at the door. So I messaged this amazing team, shout out to Zac, and they curated the perfect order for me. Communication was done via email and very responsive. I cannot recommend them more highly!

The QUALITY of their custom products, the CARE of the PACKAGING (send from Dublin to USA), and the KINDNESS of the staff is truly heartening and inspiring. This set of artisans and researchers are a GEM and I'm so thankful for them. Gift of a lifetime for sure.

I had a great experience here! I met the store owner Pat Gannon in a pub down the street on St. Patrick's Day. We discovered we had the same last name origin which was incredible. What are the odds! The next day, I went to House of Names and purchased two crests: one for my name and one for a friend, and Pat was kind enough to include a family history plaque for free! This was easily the highlight of my weekend in Dublin. Highly recommend this business.

I placed an order and they shipped it back to the US for me! If you are in Dublin and want to find out about your family history, check out The House of Names!!

Purchased a embroidered silk coat of arms mounted and framed in 2020. I wanted another one but didn't have the receipt. Sent them a text explaining my situation. Within 24 hrs received a text and a call ready to help. I live in Philly, wow what service. Pat had all the info he needed and was ready to go to work. GREAT JOB PAT.

I messaged Zac a few days in advance about getting a family plaque, and on the day I was meant to pick it up I didn’t get into the city until right as he was closing. He stayed open an extra quarter of an hour for me so I could still get the gift for my dad. Great service.

Yelp
Capitalising on a prime location across from Gogarty's in Temple Bar, House of Names (yes, there's another one) is a heraldry hot spot for anyone searching for a nice crest or scroll to hang over the mantle at home. Part of the same business responsible for House of Names over on Nassau Street, this little heraldic shop specialises in branding various wares with the mottos, logos and crests attached to names of all nationalities... for a price. With keyrings, paper weights and other small gifts priced affordably from €4 to €15, there's gifts to be had here sure to make even the smallest apartment feel like a fifedom.

Yelp
After looking about the shop for a few minutes, being ignored by the only staff member looming behind the counter, and noting the "do not open" signs on books as well as "do not touch" signs on the computer, I asked the gentleman if I should just give him my name. His response (a direct, verbatim quote): "How else am I supposed to know, I can't read your mind!" spoken in a tone that would curdle milk. We were prepared to spend a lot of money in this shop, but left immediately after experiencing this horribly rude creature who has no business interacting with the public.

Yelp
Patrick provided informed guidance with the utmost courtesy and patience. Our order was completed on time and of excellent quality.

Yelp
Great service. Bought a gift for my sister in-law and couldn't be happier. Beautiful handcraft crest on 8.5 paper with the history of the surname.

Yelp
I was redirected to this location to gather further information on my family's heritage. After walking through horrible rain and wind, the man working in the store was anything but helpful. He repeatedly told me that any information or items I wanted could be found on the website. He also alluded to the terrible weather multiple times, stating that he wanted to get home. Total waste of time.
