‘Saved By The Bell’ Star Mario Lopez’s Ghost Kitchen Is Now Open in Houston | Eater Houston

"Beloved as a diner and dessert destination, House of Pies is slated to open a fifth Houston-area location at 25686 Highway 290 in Cypress later this fall; the Cypress outpost has been in the works for a few years but was delayed by the pandemic. The franchise, which filed for bankruptcy and closed most of its locations in the mid-1980s, has been expanding in recent years with a Fuqua location that opened in 2017 and a Woodlands outpost that opened in 2019." - Brittanie Shey

We had the most wonderful experience today at House of Pies! Our waitress, Claudia, was absolutely amazing — so attentive and friendly. She checked on us often, made sure our drinks were always full, and really made us feel welcome. Excellent service and a great dining experience all around. We’ll definitely be back!

I loved the place from the moment i stepped in to the door, I was greeted with kindness by Miss Claudia, her vibe is so uplifting and positive, such an awsome soul. She radiates such amazing energy, 100000/10 she exempts customer service and truly embodies it throughout the experience. The food was amaaaaazing, i have never had such an amazing mac and cheese bowl, lets just say..i will be coming back for the man and cheese bowl and chicken fried chicken! Love it! Keep up the amazing work house of pies, you have an amazing staff from the back to the front love to see it.

Claudia is such a great part of House of Pies. She is very kind and welcoming. She makes you feel like you’re part of her family. She’s very loving and naturing making sure she meets everyone’s expectations . For many more visits to come Claudia. I hope everything gets better for you.

I ordered the Bayou Goo dessert. It was great, perfect in sweetness. I really liked the texture of the whipped cream. I tried this one for the first time, and it was so good; definitely coming back to explore more flavors. We got a small-sized pie, and it was perfect for our date night. It was enough for the two of us.

Google
First time here and it was good. Not amazing but good. Came here to try desserts and there is a BIG selection of pies and cakes. We had a tres leches cake and a cherry pie. The cake was okay but too dry in my opinion. My wife liked her cherry pie. We’ll come back and try some other options.

Google
Came here on a Saturday after stopping at another restaurant due to the ridiculous wait. No wait at all and quickly seated.I t was busy yet there is obviously enough staff to handle things Our server Cade was an excellent server! Our breakfast was typical diner style and portions were decent and good value. We didn't part take of any of the pies to try as our bellies were full. Will have to come back again for a slice 🍰.

Google
I had an excellent experience thanks to our server, Claudia! She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Her warm attitude and professionalism truly elevated the dining experience. Highly recommend asking for Claudia if you visit — she’s amazing!

Google
We had a great experience at House of Pies! Our server, Cade, went above and beyond — he even took the time to cut our cake for us without us having to ask. Such a thoughtful gesture that made our visit extra special. Excellent service and great hospitality. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A little late on this review, but better late than never. I bought a banana cream pie for dessert to serve up on Thanksgiving. The pie was amazing made my Thanksgiving great again. Although there was a long line when I arrived (expected though on day before Turkey Day) as soon as it was my turn checkout was quick and friendly.

Yelp
Went for Sunday breakfast. Front of house very understaffed but friendly. Server was trying to train someone and tend to the entire restaurant. Not her fault. My Denver omelette had little filling and was greasy. Hash browns were crispy the way I prefer them. Wife had strawberry French toast and enjoyed it. Our friends had chicken fried steak breakfast and he cleaned his plate. His wife had eggs and turkey sausage. She didn't eat much of it and declined to take it home. I like this place for a slice of pie and coffee but would probably pass on the rest. 4 breakfast entrees and 4 coffees $71 plus tip.

Yelp
Ok, so House of Pies feels like a classic. I've personally not noticed a difference in the quality of products across the various locations, but I have noticed a difference in service. Atleast during the holidays, this location has the best service! They really are offering pie to the masses with a smile which is appreciated. I personally cannot find a pie that I can stand behind (trust me I've tried), or a food item that felt worth reordering, but I do appreciate them for what they are as well as the price of their products. One thing is for sure. They're always an amazing resource for last minute pie for any occasion!

Yelp
The service is great! I wouldn't order the key lime pie again, but the hot chocolate was alright if you're craving the water packet nostalgia. Overall, it's got a nice ambiance and is well lit.

David H.

Yelp
Rayo r was our server and he was great, very kind, plus the food was great too. Food came out quick with no mistakes.

Yelp
My wife and I went here today for brunch and the service was great but the food not so much. I ordered the Waffle platter and my wife had the chicken and waffles. The waffles themselves were decent but the eggs and sausage were extremely cold. I'm not sure if there's a new cook in the kitchen or is it was just a simple mistake. But we sent them back and the waitress fixed it right away. The cooks gotta get it together, I would love to visit this restaurant again soon to try something different.

Yelp
Haven't been disappinted in this place until today. I ordered a slice of icebox pie, french silk, and tres leches. The pies were a hit as always, but the tres leches cake was bad. It was just cake. It didn't have the "tres leches", which made the cake dry. A tres leches cake is supposed to be moist and this was not. I had been wanting to try this, but am sadly let down.

Gwen B.

Yelp
Service is little slow, servers appear to be new so might improve, the servers clump together in back area instead of checking on their tables. My server was good though, observant and friendly. Word of caution tho: watch your receipts, my was charged for the returned burger. She fixed it but only after I caught it, she should have! Food: a huge variety of foods, lunch and breakfast. Nice menu selections!! After a long wait, my cheeseburger came but was burnt, and totally dried out, and cheese was piled not melted in center and cold, I sent it back. Gross! The second burger and fies cane, it was delicious. Hot and made with care this time! I love the selection of pies and that they sell them whole or by the slice!! Note that their slices are very small, dissappointing! I ordered for take out- Boston creme pie ( dried out and skimpy) and lemon meringue slices.
google avatar

Jacob K.

Yelp
The pies were huge and delicious that I took some home to go to finish as a late night snack!

Yelp
We stopped here at 11pm on a Friday. Our expectations were low considering time of day. John, the manager, waited on us. He was friendly and attentive. We both got breakfast plates. They came out quickly and the food tasted good. The dessert selection is ridiculous. We got a slice of pie to go. I had just enough cash for bill and tip. I wish I'd had more to leave a better tip. Only negative was that the AC didn't seem to be working 100% but we were comfortable.

Eduardo C.

Yelp
Went there for breakfast and may I say that service by Rayo never fails, and food is still good! The Christmas songs are way better than the 60s songs there always playing, and decorations are beautiful and appealing to the eye. Will be back!

Yelp
June 7, 2022 I had the misfortune of Wyatt waiting on me this evening. I arrived at 10:00pm, an hour before closing. There were a handful of customers in the dining room. Simply stated the restaurant was anything but busy. Wyatt makes his way to my booth. His lips move. He makes sounds but he's inaudible. I ask him two times to repeat himself. Finally, I discern his name is Wyatt, and he's my server. Can I get you something to drink? Sure, coffee. 10 minutes later, Wyatt's back with the coffee, which is warm. Now it's time to place my order. I select the chicken salad. Wyatt seems bewildered. I don't trust him. I ask Wyatt to repeat my order. Wyatt says, "You want a chicken tenders salad." No, dude. Not tenders. Grilled chicken. I point to the item on the menu. I ask for my salad dry (no dressing). How could Wyatt screw up this order? Easy. He returns with my salad dripping in oil and disappears. I cannot tell him my salad is not as I ordered because Wyatt is conspicuous by his absence. I suck it up and eat the salad because I don't want to wait for Wyatt to reappear, and there's no way of knowing when, if ever, I'd see my fabulous server again. At no time do I see Wyatt until I finish my meal. Never any: "How's your meal? Anything else you need? Care for more coffee? Now to my salad: wilted lettuce, soggy onions, undercooked chicken, and a hard-boiled egg sliced razor-thin and impossible to pick up with a fork. Oh, I forgot. I never got my biscuit. Vibe and aura on a scale of 1-10 =1. Way, way, way, way, too bright!! April 15, 2024 UPDATE I returned to the House of Pies to see if they had improved since my last visit. Sadly, the two menu selections my girlfriend and I ordered were inferior. I had the toasted roast beef sandwich, served on mushy bread, lacking any crunch. The roast beef was stringy and tasteless. For my side, I chose cottage cheese, which was runny. She ordered the beef fajitas. With this entree, the meat was like shoe leather: tough chewing and not even close to being tenderized. We suspected they used meat from a cow's rump because it's a cheap cut--another poor showing HOP.

Yelp
It's a warm and cozy ambiance to enter and settle for a nice lunch/dinner with friends and family. I highly enjoyed eating their hearty meals and most notably their sweet desserts-- Pies and milkshakes! My sister can't get enough of their pies which make the experience worth it to see the happy faces of your loved ones end the day with a yummy treat

Yelp
The pies were really good and we loved the music they were playing.Good vibe and Gary was an exceptional waiter who made the experience awesome. We will be back for sure.Loved the strawberry pie.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE! Recently returned to House of Pies Cypress location for dinner on a Wednesday evening with friends (their choice). Strangely there was only one additional table in use. Noticed the new menus. Already had stains on them. We dined, and then chose to have pie. Food was only fair, late arriving, and unfortunately had sat under the heat lamp for too long. The pie was good, but not exceptional. Our friends paid by credit card and were charged the "convenience fee", which was not mentioned by anyone or shown. I chose to go to the register and pay by cash. I handed the young woman my ticket, and asked if there was a discount for cash. She smiled and said yes. There was no discount. What she actually did was not charge me the credit card "convenience fee" that I had questioned earlier. Removal of an unwarranted charge is not an actual discount. We fear that this is a fee that is imposed across all tickets both credit cards, and cash. Many people will not notice the additional fee. Used to be a great place, but the Cypress location is lacking and deceptive.

David M.

Yelp
House of pies is consistently great. Been a patron for more than 20 years.. Not only a go to for virtually any kind of pie you could want , their breakfast is outstanding
google avatar

Candy D.

Yelp
They charge a convenience fee .60 cents. Without notifying you. The lady we had as our server was very forgetful, dingy
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
Come here for the environment NOT the food. House of pies is one of THE nostalgic diners you go to after a late night out. The environment is amazing and bustling. The food on the other hand is mediocre at best. Although some of the desserts/milkshakes are pretty decent. I enjoyed my strawberry milkshake. The cream puff on the other hand was alright. Yes, the cream puff is the size of your hand but it's just a bit too much to eat.
google avatar

Sophia H.

Yelp
I bought the pecan and strawberry rhubarb pies for a family gathering and they were a hit! I'd definitely come back to try their other flavors.

Ashleigh G.

Yelp
I had this doordashed so I can't speak of the service and atmosphere, but it was delivered quickly from my doordasher. None of these pies or cake was over a 4/10. It's not doing the name 'House of Pies' a service when none of these were great and had soggy bottoms. The Italian sweet cream cake was so dry I think it's nearly a week old. The coconut custard pie was what I was most excited for, and it was so soggy I couldn't believe it was served like this. The bayou goo and coconut cream pies were the best but that's not saying much. They were less than expected so I'd give them a 4/10. Overall, incredibly unimpressed and I will not try again.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for some Bayoo Goo and Peach Pie. Very friendly staff, clean and well lit. Nice to have them so close to the house!

Al B.

Yelp
Went here a few months ago and this place was disgusting! Filthy! The pies we were served were falling apart the crust was soaking wet and the pie was barely cold so probably refrigeration issues on top of the filth everywhere. Service was just as bad as the cleanliness. I'm a native Houstonian and I've been to the original house of pies more than a few times and they used to be a Houston institution for pies. Not sure what happened, but I can promise you that we will never go back.
google avatar

Janet M.

Yelp
Food was very delicious and the service was great as well! It was great to know of a late night spot that was good with both food and service! PLUS they sell alcohol!

Yelp
Sadly I was disappointed with my families visit to House Of Pies. My wife had previous good experiences this was my first go round, the restaurant wasn't ambient and from walking in I got the vibe it was dirty . We were seated at a table that had been "cleaned", but still had food on the seats. Not to mention the high chair they brought for our daughter had leftover food on it. Our service was mediocre and the food was not impressive at all. I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich and my wife had the juevos ranchero both with hash browns for the side, we were not impressed at all. My sandwich was dry and the hash browns had an after taste of a cardboard box. Half a plate of hash browns were left as trash and we always clean our plates. It was so unenjoyable we decided no to dessert and she's a sugar head. All in all we will not be back, hope you have a better experience.

Yelp
Typical diner type food. Haven't been to a house of pies in a few years and the craving hit so decided to head up to this newer location and give it a try. Decent amount of food, reasonable prices, delicious pies! The menu did state that due to rising coffee costs you only get 1 refill, so be cautious if you're a big coffee drinker. Side note: Went in on a hot day and it was pretty damp/muggy on there. No biggie but it did make the floor extremely damp and slippery. I almost fell a few times just walking. Could be dangerous for elderly or someone who just isn't paying attention. Didn't see any sloppy floor signs either. Was just wearing regular Nike tennis shoes too.
google avatar

Yelp
I as so excited to see it come to our area. Each time we've eaten there, it's been a disaster. Food dye in pancakes, bakery items taste chemical. Tonight was the last straw. Got a piece of custard pie, which was a major treat for me. The texture and taste was horrible. Went straight in the trash. Ate at the Kirby location last week, food was good. Definitely not the same. Will never come back here again.
google avatar

Cole R.

Yelp
It was good and I'll definitely be back soon. Banana pudding CAKE! Is to die for...maybe of diabetics but we will cross that bridge when we get there. This was our first time so we went with basic/classic meals for comparison and it's a great breakfast. I will update as I try more items. There was a decent wait for food but it was fresh and warm. Will have to try everything.
google avatar

Emma D.

Yelp
Not good just not good came here last year and the service was terrible!they gave us dirty silverware and we're very rude. They got our food wrong and I know it's called house of pies, but their pies are only OK. Also, it feels very like you're basic diner. Came here again, thought I'd try again. Server this time was really nice. Ironically food was not good. It taste like your basic diner food that you can make it home for cheap will not be coming back. (This time their pies were better, but still just OK.)

Maria H.

Yelp
We have been here multiple times and the food is always amazing, and I always get the chicken pot pie. Normally my pot pie is so fresh, flaky, and the gravy is oozing out the top. Today we were very disappointed, the pot pie tasted like freezer burn and the crust was rubbery, yet mushy and peeling in chunky layers. The gravy inside the pot pie looked liked mashed potatoes and the vegetables inside were complete mush. My mom ordered a cheeseburger that looked like an old reheated patty and had a rancid smell. The only thing edible was the seasoned French fries and our water. Needless to say we will not be back.
google avatar

Bryan D.

Yelp
Me and the wife love coming here for some hot chocolate and a slice of their cheesecakes. It's a lovely place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Nick D.

Yelp
Not sure why there are a bunch of negative reviews, this is my wife's and I's go-to spot. Outstanding service and everyone is always kind. Food is always yummy. Coffee is great. Being originally from NJ this gives me the diner style atmosphere I have been missing. Just went here again today (6/23). Rayo was our server. Awesome as always. Someone did mention there is a 3% convenience fee they have started adding ever since they switched to the pay at your seat style where they bring the device to you. A little 'meh' on that but it doesn't affect the food or service. Will e coming back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure why all the low * reviews! I had a great experience each time I've been here (3) 2 to eat-in and 1 to pick up pies. Yes, I understand there could be a line just to eat-in during peak hours but it's a new place in this area! The two times I've ate-in was before lunch so if you come before peak lunch you should be able to get in fine! The waitress I had was excellent - same waitress both times - but I didn't catch her name but she was very very pleasant and quick to take our drink orders and food. I'm a huge corned beef hash, eggs, and hash browns plate fan and HOP is probably the best place to have this dish in Cypress. Crispy, great tasting. Not soft/soggy or hard as a rock. The pies: I've had French sick, chocolate cream, and apple. All excellent! Will be back for sure, I just hope this place gets more legit reviews because I had not a single complaint on my 3 visits to-date.

Yelp
The food and desserts are really good, especially the Dutch apple pie. It was delicious.

Karen B.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the service is very good. Bakery goods are highly recommended, especially their cream puffs. I give them 7 stars out of 5.

Amber R.

Yelp
We walked in wanting just a dessert. First ordered our drinks, nothing crazy either just water and coffee. And then never saw the waiter again. We just left after 30 minutes of waiting. We saw him coming in and out of the kitchen not even acknowledging we were still waiting. Mind you there's only like 5 other tables in the restaurant where people are sitting. Wouldn't come back again. Wouldn't want to give them a dime.

M S.

Yelp
This was our first - and last! - visit to House of Pies. We ordered our food (for 6) for pickup, and almost every order had at least one thing missing, wrong, or unacceptable: - two of the entrees were supposed to come with rolls, but none were included - no tortillas were included with beef fajitas that were ordered - fajitas (for a vegan) was not supposed to include any meat but had meat anyway - toast was not toasted; in fact, it just seemed like stale bread that got added in hopes the customer would foolishly think it was lightly toasted - sautéed spinach was not sautéed (at all) - no crackers, although they were supposed to be included with our orders of soup - received a random shake, half full, that we didn't order (which just further illustrates how badly they messed up this order) I understand this was a large order, but there should not have been this many missteps in terms of the food we received. I don't wish ill on any legitimate business, but I think they need to get their act together before word of mouth and their lack of quality service sinks them.

Yelp
So, today I went to HOP with my husband and sat at table 71 (way in the back of the restaurant) at a corner table. My husband and I were only three patrons in Candi's section. Not to be at all offensive but Candi is a young Hispanic waitress. We sat in her section for 5 to 10 minutes looking over the menu that was given to us by the hostess. We had decided on what we wanted to order and set our menu down and patiently waited for someone (Candi) to even acknowledge us. She did not. She saw us (as we could not be overlooked with only one of three tables occupied). So, we waited on her for over 15 minutes before she could not avoid us any longer and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. She did not offer any greetings, she did not mention her name, and she did not even smile or acknowledge us in any way. We told her our drinks and when I ordered an orange juice in a to-go-cup with lots of ice...she made a face (not sure why). She went to get our drinks and brought them to us with liquid running down the sides of our cups (instead of wiping them off before handing them to us). She tried walking away from us and we had to make her aware that we were ready to order (seeing that our menus were discarded on the table and away from us). Sadly, we did not leave a tip and rightly so. I do feel her actions were based on our skin color and appearance. When white patrons came into her section (she quickly offered them a warm greeting and a smile), she attended to them right away. I know HOP hires a diverse team but that doesn't always mean that every employee shares their same values. Due to this interaction, I can say that I don't feel welcomed to going back to this establishment.

Yelp
My first time here and the food was good. The manager Monica was amazing! She made sure we had everything we needed and then some. Will most definitely be back for Monica's wonderful customer service!

Yelp
I was in the search for the best banana cream pie..... And I didn't find it i've been craving banana pie for so long! Ever since I found a pie spot in Vegas that was perfectly crafted, I have not found a single pie shop that came equivalent to this pie! I really wanted the House of pies to be my happy pie place, unfortunately it was not. The crust was not buttery and flaky or thick like I like it. It was giving bland. It was giving retirement home pie. I won't be coming back here, but if any of you guys have any suggestions for any other pie shops that'd be great!

Yelp
Basic American diner with average grade food. But sometimes it's nice to just enjoy simple meals. Since this cypress location has opened, I've been excited to dine here. The original location is the Westheimer location I believed, and I've only ever dined there once as a teen. I don't remember the food so much. The staff here are friendly and gets you situated right away. My hubs and I came in on a Sunday morning which was pretty busy. Our server, Amy was super! Hubs ordered the French toast, eggs, and sausage patties. Honestly it looked like reheated frozen sausage and you definitely could tell... but it's like what did you expect, lol! I got the tuna salad sandwich with creamy potato soup. Both were okay once again. Tuna salad lacked flavor, so I dipped it in my soup which was helpful. The proportion between bun and tuna salad was off, but I guess some people prefer more protein than carbs? The desserts were what we really aimed for. Heard they have one of the best strawberry cheesecakes so we ordered one of those and a turtle cheesecake. Portions were huge for desserts! We'll probably be back for more of the desserts than actually dining here. Otherwise, the service is great!

Yelp
Came here for a brunch on a Friday with my sisters because they serve an all day breakfast menu. The location here in Cypress is one of the newer location....and you can tell by just their decor. It's much more modern and more bright with a lot of windows. Wait staff was attentive and nice. Food came out fast, but was surprised that they ran out of grits when my sister had already out in an order. One thing I did notice on the menu and apparently this is the same for all location, there's a minimum service charge, $3.95 per person, per hour. Never heard of this before, but maybe it's to prevent those late night stays without ordering much? Food was just okay, I was satisfied. My plate came with frijoles and it was tasteless and my biscuit seemed like it needed to be in the oven slightly a bit more. But willing to come back to try their pies here.

Yelp
This 2 star review isn't about the food, it's about the lighting. The food is your average breakfast joint. Not bad, not delicious. Just some food. Our server was over worked, and felt bad for him. It was really busy when we were there and he was running around like crazy. Very accommodating and kind. He's 5/5 stars here. But the restaurant... It's so overlit that I had to leave from a headache. I had a small headaches then it went to a migraine, sadly. The bright pure white light is something that's enjoyed in operating rooms all over the world. Helps see in patients, make sure you can close the wounds well, etc. Working in the or I can tell you there was sufficient lumens to make any doctor happy. But not for a restaurant. I'd love to come back here on my chest day and have some pie, but I'll have to wear some sunglasses because the lights ruin it. So food is okay, want to try the pies, too bright. The tldr version of this review.

Yelp
This is really hard for me to write as house of pies has been an all time favorite of mine. I have craved their biscuits and coconut pie for as long as I can remember. So I was dying for some a couple days ago and sent the husband after work. I'm wondering if I should have had him stop over off Westeimer since that's the one we've always gone to, but it was easier stopping closer to home. I thought they must have had a bad day with their biscuits. I ordered a dozen and every one was flat and completely different than what I'm used to. So the next day he drove back after work to show them photos and ask to get another order thinking they were just off that day. He was told the recipe changed last month. What??? Why you trying to fix what's not broken?? I compare all biscuits to that original recipe HOP biscuit. Now where do I go? I'm really sad. Maybe I'll try the other locations and see if they all changed. Hopefully not. The flavors on a couple pies seemed off too. The dark chocolate in the french silk (husband was the first to taste it and didn't like it so he ate the mousse part) was a bit bitter and off tasting and the coconut cream had a slight fake coconut flavor that was a little off putting for the first few bites. That one was still ok to eat but not the best I've had. So I'm not sure if this is every HOP but I really wish they'd go back to original recipe. Especially the biscuits. I will say we also had chicken pot pie and chicken fried steak. The pot pie was excellent! I'd give it 5 stars. Chicken fried steak was ok, not bad, but tasted like a good quality frozen dinner. We also had a cream puff and it tasted exactly like it always has. Very good! And it was still huge. I thank HOP for not reducing the sizes like so many other places. I'll definitely pick up a chicken pot pie and chocolate covered cream puff again. I'll even try the pie again. Everyone has off days and the sadness from the biscuits could have made us hypersensitive. But please go back to the old recipe biscuits. *note. This was for a family of 4 adults. I did not eat all of this myself and we had left overs! Lol. My boys are the bread eaters so in order to ensure I got a couple biscuits for myself I ordered a dozen. And I could eat several of the originals in a week. It kinda sounded as if all the food was for me. Lol. I wish I could eat everything, but unfortunately I'm not that young anymore. I didn't get pictures of the food. But did take pictures later of the biscuits to show them. If I'm the only person who feels like the old ones were better then don't judge based on my opinion. But I like tall fluffy biscuits. That's just me.

Yelp
This was a great way to start my Sunday! Amy, our server was fantastic and very upbeat and attentive. She really made our experience all the better. They should clone her. My husband and I hadn't been to House of Pies in 15 years so when we saw they had come to our side of town we had to come. We were not disappointed. I had blueberry pancakes and they were so good! The blueberry's were so big and plentiful I had a great burst of flavor with every bite. The food and service was awesome and the prices were very fair for the good sized portions you get. My husband had corned beef hash and raved about it. Overall, it was an awesome experience and we will certainly be back to try different things very soon. Thank you House of Pies!!

Yelp
I just recently drove from San Antonio TX, to Houston and decided to try House of Pies in Cypress. I was pleasantly suprised at how superb the whole experience was. Firstly I was greeted by a young man named Jeremiah who was very respectful and friendly. He had great manners and made me feel welcomed. He guided me through the menu very clearly and helped me decide on a lemon meringue pie. The pie was very visually pleasing and put together well. I then took a bite and immediately was hit with a sweet flavor and the pie was light and airy and melted on my tounge. The pie had a great texture on the crust and was overall very solid. I enjoyed my experience at House of Pies and will definitely be visiting again.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience for our first time coming here. Came for an early lunch/late breakfast and I ordered the sausage biscuits with gravy while he ordered the country boy breakfast. My one and only critique is that the biscuits were a bit dry. Otherwise, the meal was wonderful! And there coffee is very tasty as well (I had 3 cups!) Both of us finished off with a slice of banana cream pie. Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
We wanted dessert and shot up to House of pies. We got here and got seated but still waited some time to get waited on. The waitress tonight, Caroline, was fantastic. With all the returns and inconvenience, she comp--the vanilla cheesecake we were bringing home.

Yelp
I am so glad that House of Pies is finally in Cypress!! This was the old location of PDQ and I am so glad they revamped the space it looks amazing! I came right during opening hours for breakfast with my auntie and stepmom and it did not disappoint! The staff is super nice, the food is super good, and don't get me started on the pies! When we came for breakfast we ordered- Sausage scrambler, Corned beef hash and eggs, and the Waffle platter. Everything was super yummy and tasted so fresh. I definitely had to get some sausage patties on the side and they were so good. They tasted homemade and no where near like those frozen ones you get at the grocery store. So so good and the waffles were extra crispy like I requested and the hash browns were really good as well! We of course had to get pie before we left! We got slices of the wild blueberry, custard, and chocolate meringue pie. SO GOOD! Also, a whole pie of the Fresh Strawberry Cream pie to go for our family at home. This location isn't open 24 hours like the original location but don't worry! They are open from 9AM-9PM so you have plenty of time to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert here before the day ends. I can't wait to be back!
