9 Best Brunch Spots in Berlin | Condé Nast Traveler

"House of Small Wonder, given its stylish Mitte location, is a popular destination for tourists and the occasional breakfast meeting—as well as a refueling respite from the shopping on Friedrichstraße just across the river. It's also great place for a special-occasion splash-out brunch. It's not just the design at House of Small Wonder that's gorgeous: What comes out of the kitchen will delight both the eyes and the tastebuds. The all-day brunch menu consists of only four classic items, but they're executed perfectly—and, occasionally, with a bit of a Japanese twist: wasabi hollandaise on a homemade biscuit benedict, for example. Although the soboro don is vibrant and flavorful, we can't help but come back to the Okinawan taco rice again and again." - Krystin Arneson

House of Small Wonder is a charming and beautifully designed restaurant. On a nice day, the outdoor seating is a must — it’s spacious, comfortable, and partially shaded with an overhead canopy if the sun gets too intense. The menu offers a thoughtful variety of sweet and savory dishes, many with Asian-inspired flavors and ingredients. We tried the avocado toast, which was elevated with hints of sesame oil and a sprinkle of seaweed — a creative twist that added great texture and familiar, comforting flavors. The Cobb salad was equally impressive, packed with fresh, vibrant ingredients. The staff were lovely and attentive, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. A wonderful spot for a leisurely brunch or a peaceful meal in the city.

I tried matcha latte and the pancakes. Pancakes were so fluffy soft and melting in mouth. And the presentation was also on point. The cafe is so beautiful and very scenic.

The food is amazing and the small garden offers an idyllic break from the busy city center. I would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand, the time slots for the tables are quite tightly set. The entire staff is English speaking :)

My family and I have come back to this restaurant two years in a row and say it’s one of the highlights for us when we come to Berlin. We all got the eggs Benedict and shared a French toast which was way more than enough food. They also have a cute patio setup with blankets which just adds to the cozy feeling of the restaurant. If you’re in Berlin definitely check this place out!

We visited a couple of times for breakfast when we were in Berlin. We loved the food and they have the "lunch" menu available from 10:00 am also. Some really nice Japanese inspired food on the lunch menu. We loved it!

Google
Beautiful place with an outdoor patio and amazing food with vegan options too (overpriced tho), but it did take us ages to get served. Yet overall the staff was nice and it’s a nice place for late breakfast

Google
What a beautiful place, warm and calm, a little bit dark though. We had the biscuit Benedict and the French Toast and both were excellent, rich and fluffy. The service was great, and we spent a lovely Saturday morning there. Don’t forget to reserve a table because the place is fully booked from the moment it opens.

Google
A lovely place with a charming, old-fashioned vibe. I particularly enjoyed the menu, styled like a booklet—it’s just brilliant. The food was fantastic and full of flavor. The eggs Benedict with bacon and salmon were delicious, and the French toast with caramel was incredibly fluffy, soft, and perfectly paired with homemade caramel. The chocolate mousse was average, but the mocha cake was quite nice. The highlight, though, was the soup—a creamy, flavorful lentil blend mixed with other ingredients. Amazing breakfast place, but I wouldn’t call it best in Berlin.

Yelp
This little restaurant was sooooo cute! They had lovely cocktails- I got the espresso martini which was made perfectly. It's hard to find from the street. It's in a building with a few restaurants inside. The decor and colors and so warm and hip. I got the open face ham and cheese sandwich and it was perfect- the eggs were beyond fluffy and cheesy. The salad was light with pomegranate seeds and a vinaigrette. This has to be the best thing on the menu for sure! My husband got this Asian bowl and I blame him for getting that as our first meal of the day. The flavors were very bright but he was not liking it. I think if he got a brunch item he would've enjoyed it more.

Yelp
Gorgeous interior but food was just okay. The matcha tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. The avocado toast was not properly seasoned. The croque madam was probably the best thing we ordered. Love the cheesy tasty bread. Come for the ambiance but keep your expectations low about the food!

Yelp
This place lives up to its name - what a gem. From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you're mesmerized by a beautiful garden with the best ambiance with radiating sun shining down as you grub. My group's favorite was the udon carbonara but mine was kakuni don. The pork was so tender it melted in my mouth and the miso soup to go with was absolute perfect. All of the staffs were also so friendly and had the best personality. This is one place to be remembered for a long long time and hope to be back one day!

Yelp
Really cute cafe with a beautiful patio. They messed up my order and brought out a mint lemonade instead of tea, but I guess I got a free drink out of it so not so bad. The food was also pretty good I had the potato gratin with eggs. The salad had all this stuff on it which I wasn't aware of and wish I knew. Service in general was ok. There were a few people that knew what they were doing and few people that could be better at their jobs. Overall would recommend for the ambiance and the food was decent enough.

Yelp
This place was gorgeous, literally breathtaking the moment you walk in. You get hit with the glistering green that hugs Berlin in the early summer. The seating was immediate that Sunday morning, but I did have to signal to a waiter a few times to get our orden taken. My family also had the Croque Madam, which I was able to taste and it was amazing. Cheesy, runny, tasty bread! They also have blankets next to the door, they know it gets cold! Great experience, sorta felt like I was in NY.

Yelp
This place was so good! Visiting Berlin from Orange County CA, walk in to this place for breakfast and meet the manager who is from Long Beach CA. Always nice to travel and meet people from home. Now for the food OMG!!!! we had to try a few items.

Yelp
Good coffee, great eggs Benedict (bacon biscuit delicious, wasabi hollandaise was perfect). We did have to pay for still water. People were friendly. Decor was cute. Abstract art was interesting and cute.

Yelp
I am a major foodie and come to Berlin at least once a year for business. I make a list of my favorite restaurants that are a must to revisit, and a list of new places to try. My new list depends on reviews, photos, personal recommendations- I do my research. My plan was to continue on my list of breakfast/brunch places but was so happy after my brunch that I had a hard time going somewhere else on my list. After forcing myself, because, "maybe" the next would be better, I was hugely disappointed and decided I only want to come to House of Small Wonder! Even the hard-to-get-in, "no reservations" places could not compare! I am having brunch again before I leave and only wish I discovered sooner because I would have come every day! his morning an. I also told the concierge at our hotel that this is a must for all to try.

Yelp
The dirty matcha was so delicious! I really enjoyed the croque madam as well that came with a lentil soup. This could easily be split, I left very full. Dry cute ambiance although I think they have recently gotten rid of the cute spiral staircase...I found an interesting tree themed dining room where they may have been previously.

Yelp
One of the best spots to grab a drink or breakfast in Berlin! Seated in an art district and building, House of Small Wonder brings the business with homemade everything, great service, and quaint furnishing. I think the menu is Okinawan-inspired and some of the employees are from Okinawa. You must get the Homemade Biscuit Benedict--one of the most scrumptious breakfasts you'll have in a long time. Everything else on the menu looked amazing. Could this be the #1 breakfast spot in the whole city? I'd put some money on it!

Yelp
There's a reason why the reviews are so high! The place is an old girl's school which you can see photos of on your way to the restrooms. We went there for brunch alongside 100000 people but unless you want to sit outside the line moves quite fast. We started with some coffee martini to open our appetite, followed by exquisite eggs Benedict The food was so so good, the music a great mix, the atmosphere relaxing and inviting and the service so nice. Everyone speaks English and everyone is friendly.

Jane T.

Yelp
Best Norwegian eggs Benedict in Berlin! This really caught me by surprise. I actually went there to see the famous staircase but was impressed by the food and atmosphere. Reservation is recommended as it gets pretty crowded. Outdoor and indoor seatings are possible which is great for all seasons. The reason why I'm giving a 4/5 star is because the odd payment request. For a reason that there were no cash for the change in the entire cafe/ restaurant to split the 50€ bill, we would have to pay only by card ( as entire payment) I've never had this experience but I guess it's safe to take cash there with you.

Yelp
Such a cute place! I really liked the eggs, and the tomato soup was divine! It did take a second to get in, but everyone was friendly and it is a cute area to wait around in. Mimosa was amazing as well!

Yelp
Great breakfast! Probably the best breakfast I had in Germany. Croissant with scrambled egg and potatoes. The hot chocolate was great, really hit the spot. Beautiful space to eat breakfast. Food was fast and great! Service was A+. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My favorite brunch place in New York, Brooklyn, and Williamsburg is this magical alley way where trash dumpsters were likely kept now called House of Small Wonder. It's like this strange parallel universe that's really just a sheet of corrugated plastic keeping the rain out, but decorated so amazingly beautiful. Then you find out it's a group of Japanese doing American style brunch obsessively well... Saw this on the map in google and was hoping it was associated. Guy who served me I'm pretty sure has also served me in Brooklyn so I was overjoyed to find out it's the same group. I had an eggs Benedict that was served on biscuits made with yogurt and impregnated with bacon...stupid good. I hope nobody else finds this place so there's always space for me...come to think of it, don't read this review. Nevermind. This place is terrible. Stay away. Nothing to see here.

Yelp
Perhaps slightly overrated and overhyped. Arrived on the tail end of brunch on Sunday and there was a 30 minute wait. The set up is awkward, go upstairs, put your name on the list, go back downstairs to wait, go back upstairs. Staff is all Asian and English speaking, not necessarily what one expects in Berlin Mitte? Service was also painfully slow and there seemed to be a language/communication barrier when we ordered. There are a few vegan or gluten-free options, if you're both it gets tough. They were out of the vegan sushi rolls so my only other option was the zucchini noodle salad. It ended up being delicious, but the portion was quite small for the price. I'd like to see more vegan and G-Free options on the menu. The alcoholic drink I ordered tasted like it had zero alcohol in it. They need to learn how to pour a bit more generously and I'll order seconds and thirds. In this case, I left it at one drink. Service needs to improve big time, and the hostess stand needs to come to the bottom of the stairs.

Yelp
Really beautiful cafe, perfect for brunch in Berlin. The food was good, although I think the you're really paying for the vibe.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Berlin, Germany. I can officially and ironically say that I have had the best Japanese pork cutlet (gat so) from a restaurant in Germany. I went here for brunch on my last day. With a name so whimsical, I knew I had to give this place a try. When you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with a whimsical and mesmerizing stairs that twirl around to the entrance of the restaurant. Please take a look at my picture of the stairs. Well, my picture doesn't really do the stairs justice. But you can get a general picture as to what the stairs look and feel like. Sorry to digress from the topic of their food, as you know I was left speechless. Their ingredients are fresh. Their flavors are unique. It's brunch with a Japanese twist. They serve things like wasabi sauce and green tea matcha lattes. This place is a must!

Yelp
Arrived just before the last order, 4:30pm. They close by 5pm. The lobby with the spiral staircase is gorgeous, as other reviewers have mentioned!! It's a cute restaurant with vintage items. The women's restroom smells so good. There are some wall outlets to charge devices, if needed. Customer service is pretty good. Only one waiter serves everyone. Only cash is accepted here. I ordered scrambled eggs and chiffon cake, which comes with whipped cream. The eggs were good. The cake is fluffy, light and undersweetened. Love it!!!! I need to know how to make it from scratch.

Yelp
The best part about hanging with a local is that you get to try legitimately good food. I see why this is my cousin's favorite brunch place. It's popular enough that there's a wait on late Friday afternoon, so we had plenty of time to take some hipster prom photos on the staircase leading up. As a green thumb wannabe, I absolutely LOVE the fully committed garden theme. Aside from a forest of vibrant plants, there are garden tools, faux wildlife and and even wallpaper to match. There's quite an extensive menu, with a variety of different sandwich and side combinations. Some interesting japanese entrees as well. It took awhile for me to decide on an eggs benny, spinach salad with iced earl gray. (Kind of regretting not going for the apple soy though, heard it was LIT (look how hip I am with my millennial slang)). When my dish arrived, I had too much fun wobbling the eggs. hehehe. I eventually poked them open and let everything drip into the yogurt biscuits, mixing in with the holly sauce. mmMmm liquid yolk butter. Each bite was wholesomely satisfying and the saucy aftermath was quickly consumed... although I could barely taste the ham. Yes I also ate the salad because I am all about that healthy life. I also took a bite of their goat cheese sandwich, flavorful and tasty, as cheese from goat should. A strong contender for next time... since I found out there is one in Brooklyn also =) No room for dessert, but we digested over some good conversation with our fellow tablemates. I like that the staff was extremely polite and never rushed us out, making us feel welcome in their space.

Yelp
What a gem! You'll find this place on the 2nd floor and up a spiral staircase that kind of looks like you're going up to a treehouse. I haven't been here for brunch/ lunch yet, but all my friends recommend it unanimously. I have however been here for dinner on multiple occasions and can highly recommend it. They sometimes switch out the menu here and there but their standard dishes are delicious. Also, they have a set menu for a drink+appetizer+Main it's only 25/30bucks. I recommend their wings as an appetizer, the ribs or udon, or any of their rice dishes smothered in curry is super delicious.

Yelp
The place is amazing but the food unfortunately is not. While I was waiting for my friend to arrive I thought I needed to bring more people here. The place looks cozy and cool. Unfortunately when food arrived I was disappointed and quickly changed my mind. Overpriced food that doesn't worth the cost. Nothing worth remembering. Very few vegetarian options, nothing vegan. Expensive coffee and teas. Really a pity.

Yelp
This, by far, was the absolute most amazing meal I had in all of Berlin during my visit this June. I almost didn't want to leave this review because I would hate to see it overrun by tourists (just like me, of course!) But I am, because I want them to succeed and stay in business. The Homemade biscuit Benedict was out of this world. The Matcha roulade was divine. The Earl Gray crème brûlée was to die for. The service was impeccable. The location was almost hidden. You went through the doors, and opened onto a beautiful courtyard. Dining outside under the beautiful sky surrounded by greenery. What could anyone want more?
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably the best brunch I've ever had, coming from the brunchy city of SF. My boyfriend and I each got the brunch set (so we got to share 8 different dishes!), so I thought the price of 22 euro per person was very reasonable for the variety and portions, plus it included some nice drinks. Every dish tasted great, but my favorite was the taco rice! The interior is beautifully decorated with plants hanging from the ceilings and it is a nice view onto the street below. The servers are very nice. I went at 9am for breakfast on a weekday and it filled up very quickly after.

Yelp
Adorable gem located in Mitte. It has a fresh quaint ambiance with a adorable spiral staircase and many indoor plants. It's a cozy intimate Japanese influenced brunch spot. Euros only. I ordered the Madame Croque, Eggs Benedict and the potato gratin. The potato gratin was delish. It was perfectly buttery and smooth on the palate. The madame croque was made with a croissant (my favorite kind of bread in the whole world) and came with your choice of a Mediterranean salad or a Spinach salad. I opted for the spinach. The eggs Benedict is made with their special biscuit and was delightful. Would give them a 5 review but my only complain was the Eggs Benedict poached egg was not warm... eggs are best fresh and hot... The servers were patient, attentive and great. I wish I had a large enough appetite to fit in their pastries. They looked delish. If I lived in Berlin, I would eat brunch here all the time. Definitely a great spot to have brunch.

Yelp
What a lovely establishment to sit down with a good friend or good book. I love the cozy, bright and intimate atmosphere, and the wait staff are prompt and responsive. The food was good! Felt homemade, Americanized Japanese food like tex mex rice was delicious, as well as the Onigiri rice set (the miso soup is so good!!), for the more health conscious. The cappuccino was delicious, and they have non dairy milk alts. I came twice here- they never rush you when you're done, and the food is on point.

Siena C.

Yelp
As as a New Yorker in Berlin, I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant such as this. I'm used to a wait, used to small portions - but as a restaurant establishment in New York I expected quality customer service. However, I experienced the opposite. I came here with my partner and the ambiance was everything we expected - trendy, fun, and cool. However once our order was placed, we were surprised by several important oversights. My partner's hot cappuccino was served in a glass water cup. The glass was so hot that he was unable to pick it up without burning himself. We looked past this, excited and hungry for our food. I was unable to eat my food because it was not cooked. I have had many eggs Benedicts in my life and I have never have been served a raw egg. In the picture below you can see that there egg was basically cracked into the biscuit. When I asked for them to cook it, they put a flame thrower over it for a few seconds and instead of giving me a new order or remaking my order they said nothing else could be done. When I asked for the manager, they said they were unavailable and did not offer any apologizes - but rather rushed us to pay our bill As a graduate student at NYU for nutrition and dietetics, consuming raw eggs can be a safety concern. The restaurant's obvious neglect is not only disgusting but concerning. This is an easy way for people to get very very sick and the fact that they refused to COOK my order is unacceptable. As restaurant owners and management, I would be ashamed to have a name such as this in New York and in Berlin. If there are any tourists who are interested in brunch, AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. It is way too over priced to be neglected and have poor customer service and small portions - plus basic breakfast foods are not cooked and could get you sick.

Claudia G.

Yelp
The breakfast was delicious. We had @30 minute wait, but we'll worth it. It's a very cute place, good prices and great food. A must go place.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Had an excellent time at this quirky little breakfast place. I was only in Berlin for one whole day, but I really enjoyed eating here. It was worth the time! You walk in and see this beautiful large spiral staircase, and then are welcome to upstairs, where you sit at a long table with the other guests, very urban outfitters and trendy. My friend and I had the biscuits with HOLLANDAISE SAUCE (!!!!), taco rice, and matcha lattes. Great service, beautiful Decour, and a fun experience overall.
google avatar

Nikita D.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and loved it! The place is really cute and you have to take a winding staircase up to the restaurant. We were seated pretty quickly and I ordered the scrambled eggs with potato gratin. I loved my dish! The eggs were soft and fluffy, the potatoes were perfectly cooked, and my Greek salad was a great complement to my meal. The only downside to this place was that they don't take card and only cash. I would love to come back and try their Okinawan taco rice!

Summer Z.

Yelp
Yummy big portion dishes and good prices Cozy cute place It gets pretty crowded, try to get there when they open at 9
google avatar

Yelp
When I walked into this place, I saw a beautiful spiral staircase that felt so whimsical and romantic. When I walked up I saw the cutest little restaurant and I was greeted by friendly workers. The place felt so vintage and felt like I was transported to the past. The place was filled with simple flowers and cute vintage decor. I ordered an iced earl green tea which was perfect with the ambiance and my meal. For my food, I got their croissant french toast. The croissant was fluffy a light. It was dainty and delicious with the maple syrup and whipped cream. It came with a side of fruits, but I didn't like the after taste of it. I think, they saturated the fruits with herbs, but it gave my fruits a strange after taste. Omg- my brother ordered their tonkasu don, which was one of the best things I have ever put into my mouth. It was so simple and tasted perfect with every bite. The chicken was fried to perfection and had a delicious crunch. The serving sizes were small, but satisfying. Everyone needs to try this place out if you're in Berlin!
google avatar

Eline B.

Yelp
Nice food, I had an advocado sandwich with goat cheese. I liked it but the sandwich was really small.. The location is amazing tho, really beautifull stairs when you enter the place. There is are a lot of tables but that makes it quite noisy. Really cozy entirior. But a bit too pricey for what it is.
google avatar

Shaunesy D.

Yelp
This is a must try while in Berlin! This restaurant is adorable, really love the vibes it gives. We didn't make it in time for their infamous eggs Benedict but our meals were still quite tasty. The French toast is wonderful, the breakfast is really good! A nice sized portion. Would definitely recommend. Coffee is okay - not the best that we have had.
google avatar

Bailey B.

Yelp
This was my first time ever travelling to another country by myself. I had met up with a girlfriend that was studying abroad in Sweden and she wanted to do a little trip together of Germany, Czech, Austria and Hungary. Not doing any research before hand we, we started in Berlin, Germany and went for brunch at House of Small Wonder. After having a great cappuccino and brunch for my first meal in Europe I found out that this is an iconic tourist and local restaurant as their entrance with the quaint staircase is beautiful and leads up to a small euro restaurant. It was such a great vibe, service was a little slow but we didn't have to go anywhere. Great food!
google avatar

Luiz Fernando S.

Yelp
The environment is incredible. It is on the second floor and you must go up a staircase to get to the restaurant. It surprises you how beautifully decorated it is. However, with the exception of the appearance, everything was more or less "okay". The food was good, the service was good, the size of the portion was good, but none of it was great. It is worth giving it a shot, but I wouldn't place it near the top of my "restaurants to try" priority list. You can find higher quality food for a better price.
google avatar

Marikka R.

Yelp
A really aesthetic café with a comfy atmosphere! The staff was just so friendly und always had a smile on their lips. The café is located on the second floor, so if you walk in, a spiral staircase awaits you. I was just so amazed by the charm and vibes this place emitted. The food also looked really nice, but the price for the amount of food you get was ridiculous. Also my friend, with whom I went to the café, said that compared to other cafés, the food wasn't anything extravagant and the taste wasn't full of flavor. It didn't taste so good. She is more experienced in this regard, so I wanted to share her opinion. In my personal view, the food certainly was yummy , but maybe because I don't go to restaurants all the time. But even so, it's a great idea to visit this place in order to enjoy the comfy atmosphere~ It's a great place to talk!

Yelp
This Berlin outcast of a popular Brooklynite brunch/lunch spot is something different. And I mean that in an obviously good way. HOSW is something you'll hardly find in the ever-changing Berlin restaurant landscape. Warm, bright interior. Lots of plants. Like a greenhouse. Up the winding stairs. Get seated by your English speaking waiter. Study the menu with weekly lunch specials. The food can be best described as a mix of Western brunch items with a Japanese twist. Small plates, but delicious. It's easy to find an item that you probably have never eaten before. Eggs Benedict on a rice biscuit? Tex-Mex with Okinawa Taco Rice? Or Soboro Don, which is ground chicken and scrambled organic egg over rice. Execution is art, and HOSW delivers.
google avatar

Silvia A.

Yelp
The food was ok. Earl Grey Ice Tea is fresh and cold. Matcha Ice Tea was also good. The service was very good. They give you a welcome drink until you have a seat.
google avatar

Asieh G.

Yelp
I am going back and forth on how I should rate House Of Small Wonder. This place has it all as what makes Berlin, Berlin. The set up, the decorations, the ambience, the architecture. I enjoyed it all. But the food is just mediocre. The benedict I ordered were over done and two the sandwiches we shared at the table were super normal. I have a lot of good memories from this place but I would not recommend it for the food. Definitely, more of place to take those not living in the city as Berlin has more good food and brunch.
google avatar

Lovisa V.

Yelp
A nice place for brunch. But it has a long wait list. We waited an hour just to get a table. The menu is limited, especially when it comes to vegan alternatives. There are no pancakes or bacon which is nice to have for brunch. The place is pretty loud, but the staff is very friendly.
google avatar

Robbie I.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to come to in Berlin! The food is tasty, the staff is nice and the atmosphere splendid.

Christine H.

Yelp
Das Restaurant hat mich rundum begeistert. Sowohl das Essen war ausgezeichnet, als auch die Atmosphäre und das Design des Restaurants!
google avatar

Nin H.

Yelp
Great brunch place. Same as in New York this place is truly a hidden gem. I even prefer this place compared to the one in Williamsburg (atmosphere, design) but the food is delicious at both. They do not take reservations. So expect to be on a waiting list for at least 30min or more. This place is cash only.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
This was the one cafe I knew I wanted to go to before coming to Berlin. The decor of the cafe is inspired by a greenhouse; the staircase leading up to the cafe itself was surrounded by plants and the wall near it was a display of garden tools. The cafe itself was full of natural light and was so so cute. I started off with a matcha latte and my friend with a black coffee. The latte was pretty good, and my friend's coffee was AMAZING. I was pretty tempted by their alcoholic slushies as well...Foodwise, I got their housemade biscuit benedict and my friend a croque madame. The benedict had a wasabi hollandaise sauce that was delightful and a perfectly poached egg. The croque madame was light for what it was (french breakfast sandwich should = GREASE), used a croissant for its bread, and had scrambled egg instead of the traditional sunny side up egg on top. Both plates were absolutely delicious, my only picky complaint being that the food wasn't that hot/warm when it came out. The service was friendly, and the cafe was pretty full when we got there and when we left. It's not a big space, so big groups might not be a good idea, but it's not too small either. I'm already planning to go back sometime soon to try their soboro don, so I would definitely recommend coming by to try this cute cafe.

Yelp
Berliners know how to do vegetarian food! Very cool, cozy atmosphere in the heart of Berlin. The menu was an inventive fusion of Japanese, German, and modern American. Everything was delicious.

Aashna M.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal! A) Aesthetically appealing: the decor is beautiful. If you're looking for an old-timely yet modern place with a hippie vibe, this is it. B) Super staff: my server was so friendly! It's hard to find people who aren't grumpy this early in the morning, but I was helped down to the last T. I misordered and they offered to replace it for me. Sorry I didn't get your name, but huge props to the woman with the hip glasses and badass septum-piercing. C) The food: wow. I had been craving an eggs Benedict and I'm so glad I came here. The biscuit Benedict blew me away. I would highly recommend that if you like creamy stuff. It literally melts in your mouth.

Yelp
This place is amazing for a small tea break with some nice sandwiches and cake. Unfortunately this brasserie serve their food in extremely small plates. The food is pricey and small but super fresh and delicious. I won't come here for lunch again but I'll be back for their matcha cappuchino and their adorable interior. I am not joking I fell in love with this place. Still not sure by a 100% but the concept reminds me on an artist studio from the late 19th century or the early 20th. (I looked up Cézanne's and Monets studio but not convinced yet) This concept is based on a restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY and it seems that the staff is originally from New York as well. So if your German is weak you can order in English as well (might be even easier than German). I'd give this place 5 stars if the dishes would be bigger but it's okay. I still love it here because if you are in love with somebody/something you have to accept the flaws as well and that's what I do!

Yelp
The first time I came here was for brunch and there was a bit of a wait being the weekend and right after opening. The croissant French toast was good, but more like a cinnamon croissant then a drenched, heavy battered French toast (American style). Everyone liked the tsukune don - one of my favorite Japanese comfort dishes. Next time I came back at lunch and ordered the Okinawan taco rice. It looked much better than it tasted, the pork was a bit too sweet and saucy, could have been nicer if the flavors were balanced, but I like the idea (not sure how the real one is supposed to taste). Extra star for decor, the design and decor is charming and I would come back here with friends for the atmosphere and setting.
