The Halloween Cocktail Pop-Up House of Spirits Is Coming to Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This immersive, adult pop-up returns to Seattle for the 2024 Halloween season as a haunted-house–style experience where guests sip mini craft cocktails while roaming a venue filled with live music, tarot readings, burlesque acts and other “mystical encounters.” The event is billed as an “immersive adult experience,” encourages cocktail attire, Halloween costumes or period garb, and sells tickets starting at $76 (which include four mini cocktails)." - Harry Cheadle

Super fun Halloween entertainment. Our favorite ( besides the decorations) was the magician! We wore masks and costumes and that helped us role play & get even more in the spirit. A fun 2 hours of fantasy. This historical house & venue was so fun to wander about in. Thanks for the vision!!

This was so fun and I already can't wait for next year! The house was so beautifully decorated inside and I loved the different vibe of each room. All the characters and performers were great too and there was plenty of variety. I especially loved the magician. It got crowded at some points, but never so badly that I couldn't find a place to sit or stand. There were plenty of bars throughout, so I was always able to get a drink fairly quickly and all 4 of the cocktails I tried were very good. The plastic cups sucked though and both my partner and I accidentally cracked and spilled ours at separate points. Kind of gross that the only bathroom option was Honey Buckets outside, especially with cloaks and costumes, but I knew this going in so I made sure I went before getting to the event. I thought the QR code scavenger hunt and riddles were too difficult to figure out in the short amount of time you have at the event, there was plenty enough to do without them. I paid for the extra 30 minute VIP experience and was glad I did because it was just the right amount of time at the event. I wouldn't have minded even an extra hour!

We were really looking forward to a unique experience and though it was fun there's so much more that could have been done to make it truly special. There just was not that much to see and do and we were done in about 30 minutes. The magician was really good and quite entertaining. They had musical entertainment in one of the rooms but frankly the vocals were just too loud. It would have been so much better just to have the piano player playing Halloween music. Upstairs had some interesting entertainment but there was no place to sit. They really needed to have some sort of seating upstairs for those that got tired of trudging up and down the stairs all evening. It also would have been nice not to have the inner circle category because that left many people out of having multiple experiences. I think having two levels is plenty. The performers were good and some of the costumes were interesting. They could have offered so many more interactive opportunities. I don't think we will be coming back next year.

I really enjoyed this event; it was a lot of fun. I tried four cocktails, and three were fantastic, though one wasn’t quite to my taste—it may just be a matter of personal preference. Overall, everything was great and very interesting. The only downside was that it was a bit too crowded, and I wish they had a larger venue. But in general, everything was excellent, and I highly recommend attending. Go and have a great time!

Had so much fun at this event! It was jam packed full of activities, from watching aerial and burlesque dancers, to solving riddles to reveal the plot, to ordering fun cocktails. It’s seriously so fun interacting with the actors, I highly recommend going if you like immersive role-playing experiences or just having a silly time. You could also go just to hang out for the vibe. 10/10 will be going next year

We went to Haunted Soirée and honestly, it was one of the worst experiences. It was pouring rain, and everyone — regardless of ticket type — had to line up outside in the rain. No special entrance, no cover, no umbrellas provided. The so-called “Crafted Welcome Drink” was just cheap sparkling wine with a weird, overly sweet flavor, served in a plastic cup. Not exactly the “craft cocktail” experience they advertise. The coat rack was completely DIY — basically a self-serve area where you just hope your coat will still be there later. The bathrooms were porta-potties outside, muddy and disgusting. Inside, the “main venue” is really just a space filled with bars, because that’s what your ticket pays for: “Full Bar Access.” The shows were low-quality, poorly staged, and unless you manage to stand in the perfect spot, you can’t see much of anything. And that waiver you have to sign while standing in the rain? It makes you think something scary or interactive is coming — but there’s nothing remotely frightening or immersive about the event. We didn’t stay long. It all felt like a total money grab — overpriced, underdelivered, and disorganized. Save your time and your money.

What a disappointment! My friends and I have made a yearly tradition of going to this and usually have so much fun. Ticket prices are high, but we were happy to pay given the curated experiences, unique performance rooms, and fun cocktail tasting flight, but unfortunately this year's experience was just.....really bad. The tickets are still expensive, but now you have to buy your drinks separately and all the bar stations are selling the same things (also, nearly 20 bucks for a tiny cocktail cup!) There were hardly any performances and quite literally almost nothing to do and no story or mystery to solve? The theme was seemingly "idk vampires." They had all these QR codes to scan for information which I didn't like (why do I have to have my phone out constantly), and each one was riddled with typos. I don't know what happened here, but the attention to detail and thoughtfulness leaves a LOT to be desired. Please go back to how it used to be! If you're on the fence, I would not recommend this year.

My husband and I have been to the events at this location for the last three or four years to celebrate our anniversary, which is on Halloween. We have really enjoyed the experience the last few years and left devastated this year. Usually the sets, characters, props, story and atmosphere are on point, only complaint about previous years is that it was overbooked (as it should have been for how incredible the experience was). This year it was like they took the past several years of content, put them in an AI blender, asked how they could reduce cost, and this is the sludge they poured out at the end of that process. The sets left ALOT to be desired, the acting was subpar, the need to have your phone out to read poorly written flavor text via qr code ( I suspect it was written with ai because of the spelling and grammatical errors) broke any semblance of an "emersive" experience. The past several years I have taken A LOT of video and pictures of the experience, and this year there really wasn't much to see. Instead of wishing we could linger, as we had in previous years, we were in and out within 45 min, we entered at 615 and were out by seven, having exhausted the entertainment and story options. Also, the cocktails with a chocolate pairing were WAY more impressive and enjoyable than the several bars selling essentially the same thing throughout the venue. VIP experience was also a disappointment, and as opposed to the dialogue and writing that went into each character in previous years, the elevated experience fell flat. Everything was disjointed, with no clear cohesiveness, and felt hollowed out and cash grabby. Not much ado with vampires either. Just so sad and disappointed and we look forward to the return of the house of spirits...as this was shockingly disappointing. Thanks for making my anniversary a cheap experience this year... I guess I will go back over my extensive picture and video library to try to recapture the magic, cause it's gone.
