House Wine

The service here is amazing! We were looking for drinks, cheese, meats, olives, etc for a boat ride and not only was everything delicious, they also gave us plates, napkins, knives, glasses- everything we needed to have a wonderful night. They also give excellent recommendations on restaurants around tour!

Extremely rude white guy working at the back of the store that will not let PAYING customers use the bathroom. Rude about it too. Do not recommend

Went in today and man working there cut me off on two separate occasions while I was speaking, I suppose he didn’t have time or patience for my questions. I went ahead and purchased some items but I shouldn’t have. Terrible end to a birthday outing.

Lovely, small store with a variety of wines from around the globe. They also have a small selection of craft beer and cider — they even had Bissell Brothers 4-packs. There’s a fridge with chilled wine and champagne.

Staff is not especially knowledgeable. Certain offerings are a bit pricey for what they are.

I have enjoyed wine tastings at House Wine. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful always. They have wonderful cheeses as well. The kicker is that a day before Christmas, I went in to ask if they had a decorative bag I could purchase for a bottle of gin I had bought at another store. The person handed me a lovely bag and when I pulled out my wallet and asked how much, they said it was free (on the House, so to speak). I don't know the last time I received anything free; it made me love them even more.

Terrific wine shop with extremely knowledgable and helpful owner and staff. House Wine offers regular Friday afternoon themed tastings. In addition to a fine selection of wines, this shop also provides the best selection of craft beers and fine cheeses in Bar Harbor.
