This is a great wine shop with modest priced wines organized in a way that's great for both novices and wine snobs alike. A cute wine tasting every thursday and you can grab a by the glass to enjoy while you shop or stroll thru the dora. There is no food but you can order Deweys pizza delivered and eat it right here.

Google
Great way to sample wine and engage in conversation. Daughters birthday and she wanted to experience a picnic inside and test a few family fan favorite wines. Service was great, nice atmosphere, with decent prices and daily specials.

Google
We had a fantastic time at House Wine. We tasted several different wines while looking through their selection. The gentleman working was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. He pointed us to exactly what we were looking for and also gave suggestions based off of other wines we liked. We will be back.

Google
They don't sale food in here but you can get any food from around the place and eat inside. This night the guy really didn't seem like he wanted to serve us although he did. The atmosphere is great!! It's easy to spend as low as 6 or 7 dollars and upwards into 100's or more.

Stopped here with a small group after a birthday dinner. I'm not a wine drinker so I have absolutely no impression or opinion on the establishment beyond they have lots of wines to choose from lol. 🍷🥂 No other customers were there upon our arrival (around 3ish on a Sunday) so it felt kinda awkward at first. A gentleman covered the deals and options with everyone and we sat at a bar-like table by a TV so the boys so could watch sports. Another group of women arrived about 20 minutes after we did. Overall, it was a quaint place with a wide variety.

Google
I Went there for wine tasting Thursday. $15 for 5 samples of good wine was actually a good deal. Very generous portions and very helpful description of each wine. The best part is that you don’t have to spend the entire tasting in front of the associate. You can grab a table, sit and relax and go for the each sample at your own pace.

Google
Had to edit my review after going to several other wine bars both domestically and overseas. Their wine selection is as outstanding as they come, and they have the best staff. Been here probably over 50 times during my stay in Cbus and anytime I go visiting its a must-go for me. Can't recommend enough. Their wine tastings every other Thursdays are amazing, too.

Yelp
They have a great selection of wine! The staff is nice and helpful. They even have a little bar area. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTN6jMUFL/

Yelp
We had our first visit to House Wine during the Holiday Open House. It was good to see the place was hopping! The staff were very friendly, and they had organized a family friendly activity, so there were a lot of families visiting. It has a very nice atmosphere, with several tables available around the space, plus it looks like there's a patio for warmer weather. It looked like there was a nice selection of wines around the room, and tastings were taking place in the back. While it was temporarily closed off during the event, there is usually a small shared parking lot available in front of the shops.

Yelp
The House Wine team is amazing! Jeff in particular was so awesome in his help in planning my 28th birthday party there. He was so accommodating and did a custom 6 wine tasting flight for my guests and let me share my preferences of wines I wanted on my flight. The store has an incredible selection of wines for purchase as well as individual drinks such as beer or an Aperol spritz. I would highly recommend stopping here when you're in Old Worthington.

Yelp
I have passed this shop many times and wish I had checked it out much sooner. What a relaxing little wine room. We loved the wine taste vending station. You buy a card at the register and you use it for self service wine tastes in 1, 3, or 5 oz pours. I didn't love any of the whites I tried, but they had me at rosé selection! Purchased a bottle that came highly recommended and I'm looking forward to a nice chilled glass of pink goodness. The gentleman working was so helpful. They have a charming patio. Perfect place to spend a lazy sunny afternoon.

Yelp
This has been on my list to check out for awhile now, so this weekend while waiting for candles to finish next door, we stopped in for some wine. First impression was that it was an impressive little space, there was wine stacked wall to wall! I also loved the little graphic in the front that helped describe the types of different wines. The man working met us in the middle of the shop and asked if we were looking for anything in particular, and I stated that I'd been wanting to stop in and it was our first time. He seemed less than pleased that we had a kid with us (very well-behaved 5 year old...I couldn't find anything online that this place wasn't kid friendly..) but didn't say anything more. After wandering around, we decided to try out the wine dispensers. There were two girls at the bar and the man working, and they all watched us as we looked at the machine confused. Eventually we had to ask for help (first time with one of these things!) and the man came over to (finally) show us how to work it. We each ended up doing the middle-option for two different wines, both of which we liked. I appreciated the descriptions above that give you an idea of what sort of flavors, body, etc to expect. I like the different size options but felt that it was a bit pricey on some of them. Overall, it was a good experience but I don't know if I'd return again "just because". Maybe I'll have to check out one of their tastings/happy hours as those seem to be a hit with all the cool kids!

Yelp
I went here with my friend after we went to the gym. She wanted to try some new white wine and I was along for the ride. We came here because it was close to where we were. It it located in downtown worthington and the parking is terrible! We were lucky to get a spot. The atmosphere of the place is very inviting and light. They have a self serve wine bar which is awesome. You start a tab, get a wine card and use it to select and pour your wine. They have about 20 bottle to choose from ranging from a super sweet white to a dry robust red. I tried 3 small pours and two regular glasses. None of the wine was terrific, just ok. My friend didn't like any of the wine she chose. I did however buy two bottles for $6.99 each of a wine I already knew about. With the bottles my whole purchase was under $25 which I though was super cheap. All in all it was just ok.

Yelp
The cutest wine shop ever!! Great selection! Patio, too for warm weather. Jim and Jeff are so nice and helpful. Free parking!!!

Yelp
I love House Wine. It's a great place to go with girlfriends for happy hour or dinner. Pick a bottle of wine and drink it there, or sample from the tasting machine in multiple ounce pours. What's great about the machine is it lets you taste expensive wine without buying the entire bottle. Not a wine drinker? No problem. They stock a cooler of great microbrews, or if you prefer...the champagne of beers! They recently added draught beer, which is a nice addition. Hungry? House Wine offers a wonderful cheese plate. You may also get carryout from Cafe Daniela next door, which is pretty good. I've noticed that their hours have changed and it's not always reliable to be open. They now offer a smaller menu from the Worthington Inn across the street. Call in your order and bring it over! The staff at House Wine is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Donnie is a pillar of information (as are the other employees!)---if you have any questions or have no clue what you should try within any price range, ask him!

Yelp
Omg! What a gem. I came here for happy hour for a friends bday!! First of all it wasn't crowded and they have literally wine dispenser. Think like going for refills of a soda...but it's wine!!! Yes. It's like the best adult play date ever. The pours are very well priced, I had 3 glasses and it was only $7. Highly recommend if!

Yelp
L-O-V-E this place. After hearing friends rave and reading reviews on Yelp, I finally made it to House Wine. My pals and I stopped next door at The Candle Lab and as we were finishing up the owner, Donnie was walking a group in so he guided us back to House Wine with a tour of the shop. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. I was super impressed that they helped everyone, not just the guests at the party that was being held. We ordered food from their Worthington Inn takeout menu, but you can get meat, cheese or hummus plates there. After taking in a few ounces, we went across the street, picked up our food and returned to enjoy it along with the tasting machine. Which, I'm fairly certain is the best invention ever. I love the chic decor that still makes you feel welcome and free to unwind. We left with bottles of wine and champagne for New Year's. Much of our chatter was planning our return trip. Cheers to House Wine!

Yelp
first of all, I love the concept. It's a great place to grab a drink, a nice atmosphere and lots of wine options. I wish I had a better experience with their employee who was working on 12/18. Explained it was my first time, wanting to hear about house wine and my options and I was met with a blank stare. She seemed honestly quite angry to have to pour me a glass of wine. I'd love to re review when I return, as I genuinely believe this is a great option in old worthington despite poor service.

Yelp
House Wine is the only place in Columbus where I've been able to find Tricky Rabbit Cabernet Franc so I'm always excited to come by and stock up. They were open for a little bit for carry out orders for wine, canned beers and growlers. I am hopeful they will continue to offer this service. Call in advance to order and pay. You can also view their website for their current offerings.

Yelp
I took my wife here on a Friday night. This place makes a great date night. I would recommend it for current couples, or even first dates! It's a unique take on the whole wine-tasting/bar idea. You walk in, get a winecard from the desk (after giving them a credit card to back it up) and you can sample one or many of the wines they have "on tap". When my wife and I entered, two different employees came to us and offered their assistance. One gave us a tour of the place and answered all of our questions before the second even had the chance! Very helpful staff. We felt very comfortable there. I enjoyed the bar at the counter where you can drink, but even moreso the various unique tables you can sit at with your date or your friends. I enjoyed several of the wines, even though I'm a fan of mostly white wine or fruit wines (sweet, please!). I say this because my only complaint about House Wine is that they tend to lean more toward dry wines in their tasting. I'm not sure how often this changes. But again, I did find some sweet whites that pleased my palate. My wife is a dry red drinker, so she was happy all around. You can also buy a bottle of wine, or wine by the glass of course. We did not do that because we were only there to sample, but if our budget had afforded us the opportunity, we would've opened a bottle of one of the few wines we both agreed on. They also have a good selection of organic wines to purchase by the bottle, but none to taste. My wife wanted to taste those before she bought. But if it were up to me, House Wine would have more sweet whites and fruit wines, and also have a "local to Ohio" tasting station. (I'm all about keepin' it local, who needs the Californian and European stuff?!) Overall, great experience. We will go back and you should too!

Yelp
I only have one question for you, House Wine. How have we not met before this month? We're talking instant obsession. The tasting machine - as so wonderfully described by fellow Yelpers - has a great assortment of flavors to try, and even better, you get to choose how much of each you want (1, 3 or 5 oz). Perfect spot to unwind after a long day at work or just hang out with friends for a chic, fun, tasty happy hour. As a cheap, about-to-start-paying-loans, recent college graduate, I wouldn't recommend making a habit of going here too often - but I'll definitely back for another taste.

Yelp
This is a really fun wine shop with a groovy decor, a friendly attitude, and on-site tastings. I like wine, but beer is my first boozy love. I was in the neighborhood at the prosthodontist, and after that trial I needed a quiet cool spot to make a phone call, and I could have a drink while doing so, so much the better. This spot is across the street from the Worthington Inn (where I ate brunch on Mother's Day) in a little strip mall with a small parking lot next to Candle Lab. Inside, the decor is bright green, with lots of shelving and coolers for wine. They also have a dispensing machine for wine; very cool. And a not insignificant space is devoted to beer. The guy at the tasting bar was nice. I had a beer (they had 3 on tap), made my phone call at a table (the place was empty) and browsed the beer. Beer was a thoughtful collection of choices, and I looked at a few with bottled-on dates, and everything I saw looked pretty fresh. The only thing I didn't really like was the pricing. I bought a 4-pack of beer, and apparently you are intended to mix & match, which usually come at a premium price. As a result my 4-pack was obscenely priced. Not a big deal, but for my off-premise beer buying, I'd probably shop someplace else. Nonetheless, I liked the place, it is a cool place to shop and hang out, and I'd probably return to drink and browse.

Yelp
Stopped by here before going out for our girls night dinner this past Friday night. The Rose was delicious, but service could have been a little better. Wasn't sure if servers were supposed to serve us at the tables or if we were supposed to go up to the bar every time we wanted a refill. None of the staff explained the process here. So we just kept going up to the bar for refills, even though we had our own table. The hummus was pretty good too. Overall a good place place but need to work on the customer service part.

Yelp
When I saw that Experience Columbus was holding an event at House Wine, I signed myself right up. Too bad I was ill the day of and not able to partake in all the wine goodness available but I had a heck of a time looking around at all the wines available and making notes on which ones I wanted to buy (EVERY ONE). As many of the reviewers have mentioned, if for nothing else you need to come here and try the tasting machine. It is self-serve so you can taste whatever you want, whenever you want, and you can even choose from a 1 oz, 2 oz, or 4 oz pours. You put your card in the machine, make your selection, and wine magically appears in your glass. I NEED one of these in my home.

Yelp
House Wine is a great additional to the downtown Worthington area. There is so much going on that it's a great place to sit and catch up with your friends after dinner, or even while waiting for your candles to finish at the Candle Lab. They have both a wine and draft menu with drinks on tap. They even have one of those fancy wine aerators machines that give automatic pours for tastings on certain wines. Beside the on tap options, the shop is FILLED with different types of wine and even have displays with options set up by what type of food you are preparing to serve it with. That right there is a life saver! I will happily return to House Wine with friends!

Yelp
I'm not really a wine expert, so I can't speak to the wine. However, I stopped while driving through the area in order to pick up some different Ohio-brewed beers that don't quite have the budget to be distributed in Cleveland. Yelp helped me get there, and I was not disappointed. They carry a wide array of Ohio beers and well as other craft selections. The staff were very helpful as well. One of the cool things was that you can pull a can out of a six pack or a bottle out of a six - everything can be purchased individually - which is nice if you are just looking to create a little sampler. Cheers!

Yelp
At House Wine, you can have an impromptu wine tasting anytime you want! If you're not familiar with the process, here it is: 1. Go to the counter and give them your driver's license and a card to hang on to, and they'll give you a wine charge card in return. 2. Go up and down the line of 24 wines on tap, and choose one ounce, two ounces, or a glass. Then repeat. 3. Your wine charge card is updated every time you try a wine, so be careful to not let your charges get out of hand. 4. Sit with your friends at the cozy tables. 5. Get a bottle of your favorite wine to go - if you want. 6. Take your wine charge card and pay for your sins. My friends and I had a blast at the laid-back House Wine, and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
From top quality wines to hip and tasty craft beers House Wine is certainly a place for my fellow beer snobs and stuck-up winos to unite. Yet what makes it upmost charming is that behind its sleek design is a neighborhood bar, with a friendly, throwback bartender, and great conversation to boot. This is the third time I have been here in as many years. First with a book club/wine crawl, and then later with a wine loving friend. I digged the clean, spacey environment, the choice of various wines on book cases that circled the store, and the industrial fixtures that make the place seem more a structural engineer's workspace than a wooden Aspen lodge that flavors many wine bars. It was an instant hit with me after I tried the showcased wine in their self-serve wine dispensers. But this time I sat at their minimalistic, trimmed down bar, and it bumps my rating to 5-stars--my most emphatic top rating for a drink spot yet. The bartender had a retro style, meaning he's that type from mythic older days that pours a drink and gets you into conversation. He helps you forget your troubles, that street psychiatrist type who understands his job is to release his patrons stress and get them into a better state of mind--an escape from the hassles of the world for a few. You never see that type in the bars and clubs of the world. Very outgoing and willing to chat on anything spanning sports to politics; he ferments conversation between patrons, opens groups together, and creates a neighborhood experience. As I waited for my date I watched people come in and out, telling their troubles, successes, and gossips to him. The conversation we had with him and fellow drinkers were smart, interesting and funny. Helping guide the experience is the selection of beers and wines. On tap were several microbrew including Brooklyn Blast, which I had a sniffer of, a keg of something (I forget its name) which was the last in the USA, and several others. Their menu ( I think their choices of drafts change constantly) included lagers, droughts, ales, and hybrids. Of course we had some wine; a glass and a bottle of different Rieslings ( we like it sweet) that got the brain bubbling. The wine choice, of course, is extensive. This is certainly a great place to stop for a drink after a long day, or to grab a bottle for Thanksgiving--definitely grab a bottle for thanksgiving--there's family there. ;-)

Yelp
This is not normally a place you'd find me, but our friends said they go here all the time while they're up at the Worthington Farmer's Market. Why's that? It's because they have $5 Bloody Marys and champagne cocktails. I'd never been in this place before, but it's pretty cozy in the Fall, especially with the craziness of the farmer's market outside. I'm not really a big wine guy, but it did look like they had a pretty massive selection, not to mention a self-serving wine tasting bar. Lucky for me, they have quite a few beers on tap, including ones from many local breweries, so if you're being dragged along and don't like wine, don't worry! Everybody that worked was very pleasant, and they even had a TV that we were able to watch some of the college football games on. They didn't seem to mind us bringing in food from the Cluck Wagon, and one of the guys brought us out some cheese crackers that they wanted us to try. I couldn't have been more content. My girlfriend agreed that we were most likely coming here a few more Saturday mornings after that, since it was such a laid back and friendly environment. We'll most likely be there again this weekend!

Yelp
I love the concept of wine dispensers like those at House Wine! I first discovered the idea in New Orleans about 3 years ago and was super thrilled to learn we had such a wine bar right here in little ole Columbus. I can taste multiple bottles for little cash, and the "just a taste" option limits waste when I try a wine that does not make my taste buds dance. My only recommendation with the concept is to offer clean glasses. I'm a bit of a germaphobe and prefer not to mix flavors. The selection of wines for purchase is expansive with varied price points, and the staff is helpful. Donnie, the owner, was extremely helpful to me about a year ago when my husband accidentally gave away a bottle I had bought myself as a birthday gift. Donnie was able to locate my purchase based on the date and tell me exactly which wines I bought that day. Since they did not have another bottle of that particular wine in stock, he ordered it for me and called when it arrived. The location is convenient and in a very cute part of Worthington. Because the parking lot is shared by a handful of small businesses, it can get tight on the weekend. However, House Wine is totally worth it!!

Yelp
Although a little part of me 'knew' this place existed somewhere in Worthington I was surprised when I stumbled upon it while looking for a bathroom during the Farmers Market. I don't remember what time it was or even what part of the day it was but it does not matter because anytime is a good time for wine. The whole ambiance of the place is great and not too pretentious. There are rows of wine all the way to the ceiling and the wine is not just broken up by type or country of origin but by the types of foods they pair with (i.e. pork, seafood and even takeout!). The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was redecorating my tiny apartment kitchen in a wine theme and they let me take photos of all the bottles and basket of corks behind the register. It felt like the kind of place you could ask, "What pairs best with a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch?" and not only get an answer, but not feel silly. (answer: a sweet Riesling) We of course tried out the wine tasting machine but it can be pretty dangerous with some samples (an oz) costing around 8 bucks. The machine helped me pick a white that was pleasing and not overly sweet and I took home 2 bottles. House Wine is also located directly next to the Candle Lab and I think that makes for a fantastic duo and way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
LOVE House Wine! Donnie has created a great local business that everyone needs to check out (that's of legal age). House Wine is a very cool modern place that's unpretentious and inviting! The staff is really nice and laid back. The owner, Donnie, is a great guy who really likes to get to know his customers and discuss wine, beer, or anything really. House Wine is perfect for anyone who has never done a tasting before because there is no pressure or over formal gestures. Just the counter with service by his friendly staff, and the wine tasting machines that won't give you any weird looks if you want to or don't want to swirl and sniff your wine glass. Plus, you get to go completely at your own pace! I like that! They also have beers on tap. They'll open any bottle for sale that's not open for tasting with a $5 corkage fee so you can try before you buy. AND they have a cheese case with local cheese! I went here for the first time for a wine tasting featuring Kokomo wines from Sonoma Valley and the winemaker was actually present for the event to discuss his wines. What a treat! It was a really relaxed informal atmosphere. Not to mention the wines were really quite YUM! It was a really impressive evening for a mere $15 tasting fee. Totally worth it! So, some of the things I tried I liked so well, I decided to order it. Well, it came in in just 3 days and they called me so I could come pick it up! How speedy! And when I came back on a Saturday night to get it, the place was hopping! But, Donnie still took the time to say Hi, welcome me back, and invite me to stop by anytime. I'd be happy to do business with them again and again. I can see myself hosting a little party here soon :)

Yelp
All you need to know is wine vending machine! Concept is simple, open a tab and receive a card similar to a keys for hotel rooms and a wine glass. Use the card at the wine cooler with 12 different wines on tap. Pick the wine you want and put your glass under the spout. You can choose from a taste, 1/2 glass or full glass. What is great about this is you can try a more expensive bottle of wine without buying the full bottle, or try a wine, love it and buy a bottle. With patio seating and ample seating inside this is a great place for a drink before going out for dinner, or for drinks after work. They even have some beers on tap for the beer drinkers out there. The owner is helpful and can help you pick a bottle of wine you may enjoy. As for bottles of wine available for purchase, there is quite the selection that is sure to meet any palate.

Yelp
If you are looking for a fun place to go with a different vibe than the typical Columbus hang out. Please try House Wine. The place is decorated with a modern touch and a vibrant hue - very California. It is a wine shop/bar with automatic pouring machines. The owner is incredibly enthusiastic and constantly offering unique tasting events (wine & beer). If you go - it's worthwhile to sign up for their email distribution, again the owner will give you information regarding upcoming events and also some background/history of the wine makers and tastings. There are terrific selections of wine to choose from and don't be shy - ask for help if you aren't quite sure what you are looking for. They offer great wines at every price point. House wine has a distinctively neighborhood feel and fits really well with other businesses in the same shopping area. Every time I've been, the crowd is mostly mid-30's, but pretty varied. It feels quite upscale yet very relaxed. They are also open to tastings/reservations for larger groups/business gatherings. Try it if you haven't been before, house wine has tastings every Thursday beginning at 6 pm. The shop also carries gift items if you are looking to buy something for a wine enthusiast. If you are planning to go and haven't eaten, you may bring in food from neighborhood cafe - Daniella's, or try out Daniella's then hit up House Wine. The owner's passion for wine and the community clearly shows through this business - I love it. BTW - There is small outside seating area and parking behind the shop as well.

Yelp
I have heard so much about House Wine, but didn't have the chance to try it until last week at the Worthington Farmer's market. I immediately fell in love. The employees were very friendly and the atmosphere of the place doesn't hurt either. It is so welcoming and comfortable. Since it was a Saturday before 11 a.m., we thought it would be a great idea to start drinking. :) For the Farmer's Market, they had two options: a tasting option to two 2-3 different types of wine, or a glass or the new liqueur, Tessora Limone, mixed with one of their (champagne-like) concoctions. We chose the latter---soooo good! I cannot wait to go back to try the wine dispensing machines. They also have wine information classes (for those of us who want to be wine connoisseurs) that I want to take. It also looks like a great place for parties and get-togethers. Great first experience. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I recently stopped into House Wine with my book club for a night of wine, pizza, and conversation. I really like the laid-back atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the system in general! When you come in, you open a 'tab' so to speak--you give up your credit or debit card in exchange for a tasting card. Then you check out the wine dispensers, which show prices for different types of pours. Insert your card, press the button, and voila! Wine! I had a good time sipping malbec all night long. House Wine does not serve food, but they now have a new partnership with Pizza Primo. While this pizza isn't the best I've ever had, it certainly hit the spot, so consider that when you're coming out here. House Wine also has a great social media presence and are extremely responsive to e-mails, which made planning our outing easy and fun. If you're out and about in old Worthington, definitely stop in for a drink or two!

Yelp
Wow! What a fan-tab-u-lous place! First of all, mad props to the lime green decor -- it is my dream wine venue. I went with my fiance for a work party and the 2 male staffmembers were cheerful, efficient, and very helpful. The place was clean, they played our football game on mute, and I loved the whole ambiance. A wine tasting station with 3 options of pours WITH wines in all price ranges. And while the draft beer selection is small, the taps were primo! Mad, mad, mad props to you, house wine! I will return.

Yelp
House Wine - our favorite book club home. Props to the staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The decor is hip and open and the handy labels help with selecting the perfect wine. Themed tastings expose the wine neophyte to the range of wine choices available. The enomatic machine makes it fun to test out wines before you buy, or an easy way to have your own tasting at your own pace. Great selection of nibbles, too: chocolate, olive oil and bread, cheese platters. Or order in from some local restaurants - Rivage, Worthington Inn and Pizza Primo. So thrilled this is in our town and we can enjoy our own little Quarter!

Yelp
I really love the feel of this place. They don't rush you and are so friendly and helpful you'll want to stick around for much longer than you planned! Great selection of wine with bottles broken down into categories to make your selection easier. This place is great to bring groups! You can order food to have with your wine too. Super cute place that my only complaint is it isn't closer!

Yelp
Met there for the Purdue Alumni get together. The automated wine sampling bar was very cool. Part wine store, part bar, it was a very nice change from other wine bars I've been in. The atmosphere is very laid back, and is a nice way to spend some time to discover some new wine. The beer selection is very impressive as well, and they have limited selection on tap. If you want a good place to get wine recommendations, try some wine, this place is recommended.

Yelp
I like doing business with nice owners. Wandered in to ask for some empty bottles for an "Italian" themed dinner. Owner Donnie pointed at a room partition rack and told me to help myself. We struck up a conversation about H of W: the wines, wine bar, tastings and craft brews. I ended up with the empties. And bot a Sicilian etna rosso [my g'parents are from Palermo]. Also a River Village cab franc [which i enjoy as much as their pricier labled Kinkead Ridge label]. Without asking, Donnie said he would have his distributor leave a couple Mt Carmal IPA 6 paks [my favorite]. Will return soon for a Thurs tasting.

Yelp
This place is outstanding for several reasons. The first is that I can try a really expensive bottle of wine without buying the bottle. The clever pre paid card dispensing system they use allows anyone to sample the various wines they have on tap. Should you try something new and like it, the bottles are conveniently available for purchase in the wine shop. No more buyers remorse when selecting a new bottle to bring home as you can try several first! I also love the friendly service at this place. I initially was brought here by friends and had a great experience. There is ample seating room to come with friends and enjoy a few glasses of wine. Subsequently, they have helped me out with wine purchases for the holidays and for gifts. While I don't live in the area, Donnie makes it really convenient to do business with. This place is a must should you find yourself in the Worthington area.

Yelp
Very relaxed area! Great beer and wine of course!! 13 taps & so many wines! They also have neat classes. We happened to walk in to find them having a cocktail class. Too bad we live in Dayton....we would be here all the time.

Yelp
Dropped in today after work, very spur-of-the-moment, for a solo, TGIF happy hour. I'd never been before and I'm no wine aficionado by any means; I don't even know that I would qualify as a novice. I'm whatever's below that. I had no idea what to expect but I NEEDED a drink. Happy hour's 2-6 and I had two 1 oz samples, one 3 oz sample and a 5 oz pour from the enomatic, aka wine tasting machine. I spent a little over $8. Having read other reviews, it sounds like the owner, Donnie is friendly and personable. I didn't get that kind of reception even though I shared that it was my first visit and that I didn't know what I was looking for. I finally decided that I wanted something sweet, and after letting me know which of the wines to try from the self-serve machine and demonstrating how to operate it, he left me to my own devices. So, I didn't get an edumacation or the enthusiastic one-on-one attention I expected (3-4 customers came and went while I browsed). Nonetheless, once I got the hang of it I was less intimidated and got myself a glass to enjoy on the patio. It ended up being just what I needed. I will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I tend to avoid wine shops because I don't know a lot about wine and I feel like an idiot when I walk in the door. But House Wine has a feel to it that's not intimidating, and the people who work there have no attitude whatsoever about the wine ignorant. They offered me samples, and showed me around, without ever pressuring me to buy anything. It was a Market Day so I got a Wayward Fizz and sipped it outside on their little patio and it was a really nice end to my morning. I didn't get a chance to try the cheese plate, but it was nice they had a few food items you can buy, and I am sure I'll be back.

Yelp
I immediately fell in love with House Wine when I walked through the door. I have never been to a wine bar quite like it. They had more varieties of wine than I have ever seen. The decor is beautiful and clean. The guys working were super friendly and helpful. Really, just a great experience on all accounts. I love their self-serve wine dispenser. That way, you can try a little bit of wine first to see if you want to get more. Or, you can spend all night sampling all of the varieties. It's also nice that House Wine is in the suburbs so that you don't have to worry about paying to park. Plus, it's easy to find a parking spot. Bonus! House Wine is a great place to meet a group of friends. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
WOW - what a exemplary store for the average wine drinker and also the connoisseur. Usually you are met by the extremely knowledgeable owner. Also 9+ local craft beers plus bonus 4 non-gluten beers. 4 tables of 10 for your buddies

Yelp
What a great, local place to buy and drink wine! I met a friend there in November '10 after hearing the owner (Donnie) speak at Pecha Kucha. There is wine lining the walls (available to purchase) and stands throughout the establishment. The greatest part (in my opinion) is the fact that you can sit and sample wine with a date or a friend. Even large groups came in and there were big tables to accommodate them. They have wine dispensers that allow you to taste or drink a glass of wine depending on what you'd like. It shows you how much a taste/half glass/full glass will cost and they supply you with a card that keeps track of your costs. Once you're done, you hand them your card and you pay for however much you drank! Great system. I'm not a wine connoisseur or expert so I can't really be a judge of the quality but I'm guessing it's great based on the business and popularity. For someone who doesn't know a lot, I never felt dumb or out of place!

Yelp
My friend is a fanatic of House Wine and i think he drags me here really often. The place itself is great. However, I do wish for a more comfortable seating area where people can hangout. I personally think the room is too bright to be a wine house. I would really like to see comfortable sofas or booths. Some music would also be great. The wine selection are great. They have an outstanding selection of tasty and affordable wines. I see the owner a lot and he always gives the best explanations about wines.

Yelp
Super place to meet up with friends. Well laid out for shopping for a new selection and staff that helps and educates! We enjoyed ordering food from Pizza Primo and having it delivered. HW is located in the hub of Old Worthington and its delightful to sit on the patio.

Yelp
Excellent business. Stopped in for a bottle before dinner with friends. Everything the reviewers say spot on. Most of all, reasonable prices and very friendly people. The wine selection is nice. People like the beers on tap. You can sit outside or in on a nice day but the limited outside tables were all full when I stopped by. Very popular spot. Another local business well worth your support. Go!

Yelp
Love this little neighborhood gem! I've been frequenting this place for years, and I recommend for sure. The ambiance is casual and relaxing, and the service is always helpful and kind. Wish there were more food options, but there are small bites available. Great for a girls' night or date night. Won't break the bank. Locally owned.

Yelp
Fantastic! Great wine selection that doesn't just mimic the supermarkets. Owner is very friendly and is easy to shoot the breeze with. Wish they were open later during the week, but this is a great spot to go if you're looking for a laid-back Friday or Saturday night where the corkage fee won't put you in the poor house. Keep it up, House Wine!

Yelp
House Wine is a very cool place, and although I don't get to go there often, the two times I have been there for a networking event it's been great. The staff know their wine and are happy to give you their favorite choices. They've got two cuvees that hold somewhere between 5 and 7 bottles a piece (I think?) and then they've got their specials for the happy hour. Being able to bring in food from the outside is a perk, too. Drink up!

Yelp
Popped in here to waste time before dinner. It's adequate for a wine shop. I appreciate the number of seats, the patio and the open atmosphere. Here's my 3x3: 3 pluses - the tasting selections were ample and a nice mix to choose from. - comfy seating for you to hang out - off the beaten path selection of bottles 3 minuses - pricey bottles - pricey tastings (I paid $7.80 for a 3oz pour of mid level zin) - while the self pour machines can appeal to many, I just like the interaction with a server / bartender / wine expert. Part of the charm of my fave wine shops is the people who want to talk wine with me.
