Had our anniversary dinner here. Romantic steakhouse at the beach. Very impressed with the steak and accompaniments. The lobster Thermidor was served with fries. We should have read the description and subbed out the fries for something else. The place is very accommodating. We will definitely go back.

Google
I usually don’t write reviews on restaurants (especially because food service now a days is not great) but this restaurant is Absolutely spectacular! Food and ssrvice was phenomenal top tier next level. VERY good quality beef, cooked PERFECT. The waiter was great and The young fella who was running the food actually packed the bone on my tomahawk (usually have to ask). I would give 10/5 stars! Thanks guys! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

My wife and I went for our third anniversary dinner. The service was impeccable and very thoughtful. Our waiter, Andre, was extremely pleasant, attentive and personable and the rest of the staff as well. The food was outstanding, steak was cooked exactly as ordered and the presentation and pace were much closer to NYC than I had thought possible down here... Bravo

Oh boy …. If you visit Rehoboth, you MUST dine at Houston White Co. !!!! I will never visit De w/out dining here, again. Truly one of, if not the very best, classiest dining experiences they’ve created. The food, from start to finish was amazing & well above many others. The atmosphere is relaxed dining with sophistication. My tastebuds will never experience the same level as they did here. We were a party of 3, all ordering different entrees’ - each of us were brilliantly in awe with every bite we took. Trust me on this one … I do not rave about food, yet this place will have me eagerly awaiting my next visit to DE. Simply splendid !

Google
Absolutely amazing food, worth every penny! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender with a good amount of flavor. Our cheese board was tasty and the beef carpaccio was perfect. The peanut butter pie was light and very tasty. Service was great as well. This place is a gem!

Google
Houston-White Co. is a hidden gem of a steakhouse that's definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming ambiance that's perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. The shrimp cocktail at Houston-White Co. is simply amazing. The shrimp is fresh and perfectly cooked, and the cocktail sauce is tangy and delicious. It's definitely one of the best shrimp cocktails I've ever had. Mike's cocktail creations are simply fantastic. He's got a great sense of flavor pairing and knows how to balance the ingredients perfectly. Whether you're in the mood for a classic martini or something more adventurous, Mike's got you covered. Overall, Houston-White Co. is a fantastic steakhouse with great food and excellent service. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal and a drink (or two) at the bar. You won't be disappointed.

Google
Upscale steakhouse, right up my alley. Tried most, if not all, the steak options, and loved them all. Sides great too. Service great. Ambiance just ok, kinda plain jane really. The older gent at the bar is a hoot!

Louise

Google
Website says short ribs are $27 and yet restaurant menu says $50. Side dishes very expensive. Cosmos and wine very good. For a upscale restaurant portions should have been larger and have at least one side dishe with a $48 steak

Yelp
This was our 3rd year celebrating our wedding anniversary at this establishment. Every single year it has blown us away. I promise you, this steak is the BEST you will ever have! I don't know about you, but in our country's current economy it's near impossible to find a great steak. Houston White always delivers. Our server was Kelly and, just like last year, she was phenomenal. Very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu! My husband had two old fashions with Basil Hayden, and he said they were made very well! To start, I had a Caesar Salad which was massive and delicious! My husband had the soup of the day, a seafood chowder... Outstanding! We both had filet mignon (one 6oz and one 10oz) medium rare, which was made to perfection. We ordered two sides, THE BEST MAC AND CHEESE YOU'LL EVER HAVE I PROMISE YOU! and the potato wedges (which were good not great). Although we were absolutely stuffed, we decided to spilt the peanut butter pie for dessert. If you're still reading this review, I'll leave you with this. If we didn't live in Jersey, we would make this restaurant a frequent date night! I promise you, you will not regret it.

Yelp
Steaks ordered black and blue, came to table well done. Sent back twice. Waited 45 minutes for the incompetent wait person to bring the check. Never returning.

Don B.

Yelp
The steaks are the best in this area. They offer many options to top your steaks, but they are seared and have plenty of flavor. This establishment is small and intimate so you get superb service. The staff offer suggestions on food and drink options. The table gets complimentary biscuits which are served fresh and warm. Enjoy!

Yelp
I am going to start off with saying that Andriy is an ABSOLUTE GEM! Hold on to him for as long as you can! He absolutely made our experience one we will remember for a long time! We came here for our 2nd anniversary before we get married Jan 1st. Honestly I am so incredibly blown away from making the reservation, to us walking out the happy tummies and the best dining experience we have ever had. We started with the Shrimp Cargot and it was good absolutely perfect! It was enough to get our tummies excited for what was to come. We decided to have our cheddar biscuits with the honey butter. Ummm.. WOW! For our main dishes we ordered the pan roasted duck breast, 6oz filet mignon, with butter poached lobster tail and brussels sprouts. We've never had duck before and with the recommendation of Andriy, we had it cooked Med Rare.. Everything melted in your mouth. It was by far one is the best meals we've ever eaten. There was melted butter served with the lobster tail, but we ended up dipping the duck in to it and WOW!! We decided on the peanut butter pie and chocolate heaven pie for dessert too. Again, blown away! We can't wait to visit again soon! This place is so romantic and the mood is very very easy to cozy up to with a special someone. The prices and total cost for the meal was also very fair for what you ordered.

Yelp
We were in Rehoboth DE for the weekend and did what we always do and turned to Yelp for a recommendation. 5* made us confident we wouldn't be disappointed, yet we were. Located on the main street a few blocks off the beach,in an old house. The greeting we received at the front desk was lacking enthusiasm and warmth. Most of the tables in the front room were empty, yet we were seated in a corner in a back room Our server Tyler was friendly. We checked in and noticed an offer for free onion rings, Tyler was unaware and said he'd need to check. We proceeded to order and assumed that when onion rings arrived, they were honoring the yelp coupon. The wine list is average. Usually, a steakhouse is better. Also, I expect 2x on average markup for a restaurant. Their bottles seem approx 3x, so we only ordered a glass each. $16 a glass, decent size pour. Wedge salad was bib lettuce with blue cheese, candied bacon, tomatoes, and egg. It does state Bib lettuce, though I was surprised and disappointed because I love a traditional iceberg Wedge. Candied bacon was rock had. Oysters Rockefeller arrived as a massive pile of cooked spinach on top of three oysters. See picture, not appealing. The Oysters themselves were not separated at all from the shell and tasted fishy. They give you one biscuit with honey butter. Additional biscuits are 4 for $8 Green beans were cooked perfectly, though more butter than I prefer. Horseradish sauce with onion rings was delicious Our steaks were cooked to the requested temperature and were high quality. They ask you to cut into the center when they serve to check the temperature There was more blue cheese than steak on my plate though. Overall, I feel the meal was overpriced. What really disappointed me was the manager's reaction to the Yelp offer. Our bill came and we were charged $14 for the onion rings. Right as the bill arrived, the manager was making rounds asking tables how their meals were. I asked her about the yelp coupon and she immediately stated "it's a scam, we didn't put it on there" and "Be careful what you do on yelp, it's a scam" I told her we only ordered them because of the coupon, she repeated the statement above and walked away. A few minutes later, our waiter came over and said they were going to remove them from our bill. Then the manager came back over and repeated "Be careful what you do on yelp, it's a scam" They clearly thought they were doing us a favor taking $14 off our bill of $222. What we ate: Wedge salad Oysters Rockefeller 6oz filet with blue cheese Ribeye Green beans Onion rings My rating rationale +.5 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +.5 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +.5 Value

Yelp
Lovely restaurant. We had the potato leek soup, filet, airline chicken, mac n cheese and peanut butter pie. Everything was tasty, especially the Mac n cheese. The bread for the table is cheesy biscuits which were a bit dry , and the tables a bit tight. Nice atmosphere, and they brought complimentary champagne for our anniversary.

Yelp
five-star meal!!, Super tender melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon, and the lobster tail was super sweet and buttery. We will be back!!!

Yelp
Impeccable service and food Sunday 4.30.23 5pm. This was our first time here. *Drinks: Razz A Tini, Old Fashioned, La Crema Chardonnay, 20 yr Fladgate Tawny Port *Shrimp Cargot App *Filet With Horseradish Cream & Butter Poached Lobster Tail Add On *Lobster Thermidor *Sides - Mashed & Green Beans *Chocolate Mousse Cake Cozy banquette seating and classy atmosphere. Food was delicious. The complimentary cheddar biscuits served hot right at the beginning gets the experience off on the right foot. Shrimp Cargot was a scrumptious, cute word play served on an escargot plate. Filet was cooked spot on. I have never had Thermidor served with lightly dressed greens and frites on the side. It works. Cocktails were well made. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was surprised to find this well reviewed steakhouse nearly empty on an October Sunday. Still our server, Andre, provided a good sense of hospitality. I began with a HWCO-hattan, which tasted like a Bourbon Negroni, La Portena had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Both were very good. Next up were biscuits, with honey butter. Warm, flaky, and tender, I wish our server had left us the third one. For apps we shared the lamb pops and the wedge salad. The lamb chops were among the best I tasted, with the sort of deep flavor you will find in North African cooking. The wedge salad was not a slouch, but it was not exactly a wedge either, the Bibb leaves had been arranged in a loose pile. I followed Andre's recommendation and ordered a glass of a red blend which went well with the Delmonico steak. The beef was perfectly portioned for one, about 14 oz., and precisely medium rare. It came with greens on the side. I plumped for the deep Bordelaise for an extra kick. The saucier knows her stuff. La Portena had the duck breast, which was also perfectly cooked to temperature, tender, with two accompaniments -- a mustard sauce, and a fruit conserve. The kitchen's only stumble was the creamed spinach - not enough greens to handle the overly rich sauce. It left us unable to risk a dessert. I'll try the roasted Brussels sprouts next time.

Jason C.

Yelp
Came here for dinner. Very cute place. Great atmosphere! Yummy biscuits. Ceaser salad- dressing was bland. Potato leek soup was amazing. Delmonico ribeye was cooked perfect and had excellent flavor. Potato logs are large steak fries and they were great. Great beans were blah. Great service. Would recommend overall. Very satisfied.

William R.

Yelp
Food was high priced for what you get. Nice ambiance and friendly. Had to keep asking our waiter for water. I have been to many restaurants and the best steak houses nationally, but next time, I will skip Houston White and cook my steaks at home.

Faith H.

Yelp
My partner and I had a lovely time at Houston White, but our server Dennis gets most of the credit. He was very nice and perfectly attentive. The food was good. Their biscuits were delicious. We ordered Shrimp Cargot and a small cheese plate, which were very good and big enough to share. For dinner we both ordered 6 oz filets and the shareable creamed spinach. Loved the spinach. My steak was ordered med-rare plus and my partner's was supposed to be med-rare. Unfortunately, they didn't come out that way. Mine was prepared med-well plus and hers was medium. We were informed that to cook another steak would take 20 min. That was too long so we ate the medium steak and had the other taken off the bill. Also, the quality of the meat was average. For a steak house, they definitely missed the mark. But given the quality service and the rest of the food, we enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
First time at Houston White Co. and won't be the last. I've been wanting to go for a while now and so glad tonight was the night! I think we just found our place to celebrate special occasions! My boyfriend and I had the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly. He said that it was the best steak he's ever had! It melted in your mouth and was probably one of the best I've had, as well. Our server Kelly, was amazing and so sweet! She was very attentive and gave us the perfect recommendations when asking questions about what we should try! We can't wait to come back again!! Thank you, Houston White Co. for making our "date night" perfect!

Ed F.

Yelp
Spectacular. Food. Service. Everything . Was extremely on point. Pricy but worth every penny. The strip steak knocked it out of the park. Perfect med rare. Great shrimp. Short rib was awesome. Absolutely 0 complaints.

Jessie B.

Yelp
TOO GOOD! Must get the steaks and the wedge salad. LJ was very attentive and kind. Specialty cocktail was superb. Can't wait to come back next time we are in town.

Abdou B.

Yelp
Tried this local steakhouse while on vacation at bethany beach. The space is great for date night or group setting (we went with our 2 kids). The food is good (def recommend the Mac and cheese), the biscuits were really good. The steak sauces are overpriced and really not good (we tried bernaise and au poivre). All in all, great place for dinner.

Tom F.

Yelp
3 stars because the steak was decent nothing a amateur chef couldn't make themselves and slightly over cooked, wait staff was offended when I pointed it out but oh well. Wine was good wouldn't go back but if you really want a steak and don't know how to cook I suppose you would go here

Lesli C.

Yelp
Beautiful venue, wonderful service, and delicious food! I will go back there in a minute!

Dave W.

Yelp
We go to the jazz festival with another couple every year and this was our 2nd year at H&W both time we're GREAT Lobster , steak , Service all 5 stars

Rhett R.

Yelp
Love this place! Great steaks, perfectly made drinks, cool atmosphere with great service. What's not to like? Hidden gem and well worth it.

Dianne H.

Yelp
We had a family dinner at Houston White this week for my husband's Birthday. The meal was awesome! Everything from appetizers to desserts were scrumptious and Riley took great care of our family. We were given the table in the front window which was very nice as well. Thanks to the bar tender (sorry I don't know your name!!), for opening the door before we got your and for taking a photo of us all for a memory! We had a great evening!

Larry B.

Yelp
This is the most overrated restaurant where I have ever dined in my life! My wife was out of town, so I decided to go there by myself. The first course was a Caesar salad that came out, actually very wet and soggy, and the dressing, if there was even dressing on it, had no taste at all. When the waiter asked me how much I enjoyed the Caesar salad I told him it was extremely average with no taste and wet. He was surprised at my honesty. I told him to please take the salad away from my table. He brought it into the kitchen, then came back with an actual reason why it was wet and had no taste and that they would take it off of my bill. They charge $16 for the Caesar salad, and everything on the menu not including the price of the entrées and some add-ons for the steaks are $16. They offer approximately 10 different housewives by the glass every single one of them is $16. Mushrooms, onion rings and any other vegetable they're all $16. This place is such a rip off. When I received the steak, it was delivered to me on a plate with some type of green garnish, look like a piece of lettuce sitting on top of it and nothing else. They didn't offer anything else with the steak, which was a 12 ounce New York strip that was $58. The steak was OK, and actually as I was eating it self it was a little salty and all I wanted to do with that point in time was to get out of the restaurant. the wine was average, and again $16 a glass for average wine there's not acceptable. I am only writing this review to try to help others from making the same mistake. This place is a total rip off. I am from the Philadelphia area and I can go to 15 to 20 steak restaurants on the Philadelphia area that would put this one to shame. I absolutely would never return.

Eddie K.

Yelp
Who knew such a great steakhouse existed in Rehoboth. The Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium and the twin lobsters was cooked to perfection. Service was great. This is located close to Cultured Pearl. We ordered several side dishes and my favorites were the onion rings and loaded baked potato. They also make a great Old Fashioned.

Kerith J.

Yelp
So glad my fellow Yelpers suggested this place and it did not disappoint. I would suggest calling ahead for reservations although we walked in and were seated immediately at an outdoor patio table. For persons desiring strict Covid precautions this is not an ideal location. It's a 15 minute walk from the boardwalk and a 5 minute Uber. Street parking is severely limited. Our server Adam was adept. He guided our dining choices with a grace and savoir faire. I ordered the house Old Fashioned which is made with Jim Beam and it was deliciously mature. For dinner I had a ribeye perfectly made. Never ordered one better. The creamed spinach and onion rings tasted as if they were freshly picked from a garden and prepared by Chef Jacques Pepin. Magnificent. My only regret is that I didn't get dessert. Maybe I should order one tomorrow for the trip back home?

Emory L.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant anywhere. I come here every time I am in town. Has a dark-wood ambience of an old steakhouse. Seats less than 70 in 3 rooms so the atmosphere is cozy. Not a quiet place, but you are at the beach! Love to start off with a cocktails at the small bar that wraps around Rehoboth's best bartender: Hoge. Always entertaining to be served by him. Everything on the menu is amazing. They start you off with complimentary cheddar biscuits and honey butter: beyond delicious. Deserts are also spectacular. If you are lucky enough to go when they have bread pudding with bacon, get it!

Rob E.

Yelp
The atmosphere is terrific. My strip steak was grilled to perfection. And our waiter, Andre, was simply the best. This is our new favorite restaurant in Rehoboth.

Lori J.

Yelp
We had the special veal with waiter recommended blue cheese topping, 6oz filet, ribeye, short rib, asparagus side and seasonal veggies (green beans). Everyone enjoyed their meal, however ribeye was a touch over cooked. They serve you with an awesome cheesy salty roll and what tastes like honey butter. Excellent drinks as well. Very pricey and I believe this is because it's one of the only nicer steak places in downtown rehoboth.

James H.

Yelp
Not worth the money , there sister restaurant La Fable much better. Better service and much better food

Tim H.

Yelp
Great food, drinks were tasty and huge. Fantastic service. The steak and seafood dinners were very good. Desserts were great. Service was fast and courteous. The bartender was friendly and knew how to make a martini! Will definitely be back!

John D.

Yelp
Second time here in past month. The rib eye, is hands down, the best in the area, my wife had crab cakes which were also very good. Great table service by Andre as well.

Robert V.

Yelp
Good steakhouse, not quite up to the level of 1776 on the highway. Drinks were well done. We had old fashions and manhattans. Caesar salad was disappointing. Steaks were excellent. Our table sampled the NY Strip, Filet mignon and the Ribeye. We also had several sides. The creamed spinach was so so and the baked potato and the Brussel sprouts were very good. Nice atmosphere and very good wait staff. Overall a very nice (and maybe overly expensive) evening!

Fran H.

Yelp
We dined here over Labor Day weekend. We had a party of 6 and we're promptly seated. We started with drinks around the table. We had the old fashioned, the apple of my eye, the Martini, we also had a bubbly and a Sauvignon blanc. We opted for some appetizers including the wedge which was deconstructed by nature, the harvest salad which was burrata with pesto. We had the shrimp-cargot that was served like escargot in a delicious butter and garlic sauce. We also had the Swedish meatballs. The appetizers were all good to great the pasta with the Swedish meatballs could have been salted more than it was. For entrees they are mostly served a la carte. The sides are available for add on for 15.00. We had the special fish which was salmon cooked to perfection with a nice assortment of taste and flavor sauces. We had the scallops and risotto which were also cooked perfectly. The scallop dish was a very Generous portion. Three people opted for the ribeye steak which were all different temperatures but all cooked perfectly. Two opted for the salted baked potato , and the grilled asparagus. One had the Delaware set succotash which was a good spin on succotash. The substitution of Lima bean with edamame. Each persons entree came with a warmed butter biscuit and honey butter. We had a second round of drinks and dessert . We sampled the peanut butter and jelly bread pudding, the white on white cake , and the apple fruit cobbler. The cobbler was tasteless seemed over cooked and our least favorite . The others were very good. All in all we loved our dinner service was Excellent. We were impressed with the quality of food and the flavors. Everyone raved about their meals and were satisfied. The only complaints we had were the under-salted pasta appetizer, and the tasteless dessert apple cobbler. All in all we spent 708.00 pre tip for 6 people and cocktails. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Teri F.

Yelp
Best steak I've ever eaten. You can't go wrong with this steak. After we had expresso martinis which were perfect

Brian B.

Yelp
First off the Food was absolutely top notch the service was perfect as well but on the downside was a little on the cold side and the way the menu is set up if you want anything on top of your entree you will pay. Any vegetables only option is table share stuff. Strong restaurant but just need to include the sides with the entree.

Richard K.

Yelp
Upscale steak house with pleasant decor. The steaks are as good as any fine steak house in the country. The only thing lacking is a broader wine list.

Siobhan L.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had. The atmosphere is warm, handsome, and inviting. The staff was welcoming and friendly too. The cheddar biscuits with honey butter are insanely delicious and complimentary. I had the specials which were absolutely amazing - french onion soup and rock fish in a lemon sauce. My husband had what he said was the best ribeye - cooked perfectly. The mashed potato side is also a must - creamy and delicious. We were also able to make reservations here which we found rare in Rehoboth. This place is a must.

Joan H.

Yelp
Always enjoy my dinners & service at this restaurant. My go to place for special occasions. Seating is tight!

Kevin B.

Yelp
Houston White is relatively small place right on the Main Street. The ambiance is very nice. The place definitely has charm. We have been a couple of times. It's a steakhouse or wants to be a steakhouse and the menu can be expensive. The service is ok, not great and we have always had an awkward waiting for the check and final processing. Weird. As for the food, why anyone goes, it's pretty good and has interesting flavor mostly but the portions are unbelievably small. The steaks are small. The salads are small. The sides are incredibly small, almost just a single serving for $12 each. You might leave hungry after paying a super price for a steak. We tried the seafood but would pass.

Susy P.

Yelp
Incredible dinner and incredible customer service oriented staff. We happened upon this restaurant because of others yelp ratings and were not let down! It truly deserves 10 stars as the food was extremely flavorful and the staff were outstanding. We started with the cream of chicken and churro soup that was out of this world. We then had the wedge salad that you could tell was homegrown from Local farmers it was so fresh and flavorful. Finally for dinner I ordered the crabcakes and as a connoisseur of crabcakes having been raised in Maryland I would say it rates as one of the best with no filler. The succotash was so tasty and fresh. The strip steak was tender and had a nice flavor as well. I recommend ordering the demi-glaze for dipping. The beets and tomatoes were nice but save room for dessert. The philo dough /apple tart with ice cream was out of this world!!But really what made our dining experience so enjoyable where is Jake and Kathy who were so friendly Help guide our selections based on our questions and we're just wonderful. Highly recommend if you're in Rehobeth to visit this establishment . Incredible dining experience.

Ben Z.

Yelp
Houston White restaurant in RB - Not worth it. Overpriced, and a few missteps, and served me expired soft drinks. The online menu is different from their actual menu. An appetizer I saw on their online menu was no longer available. The server mentioned that they no longer had the web consultant and the menu wasn't updated with their latest offerings. Oh, and the prices are higher than on the online menu as well. I was the designated driver when I went in April, so ordered a Diet Coke. It had an odd taste. When the server returned to the table I said (I'll admit, rather abruptly) that I don't know what kind of store brand this is, but it is not Diet Coke. The server took the drink away, came back about 5 minutes later with another can, and without words did a dramatic demonstration of opening the can and pouring it into a glass. One sip, same issue. I looked at the bottom of the can, the expiration date was 3 months ago. This is one of the most popular soft drinks worldwide, but this doesn't mean you can go to Sam's Club once a year to buy it. I have friends who rag on me to stop drinking it because it's "poison". But I enjoy it. If it is "poison", at least serve it before its expiration date. No excuse for this. Server came back about 10 minutes later with a bottle (my guess they went to Royal Farms) and said they "usually have the bottles, but..." But what? They had old cans laying around? Anyway, they comped me for the soda and my dessert. Still way overpriced. Scratch this one off my bucket list, no need to go back. Surprising, because Fable is owned by the same company and I had great experiences there.

Allan R.

Yelp
We visited Houston White during my birthday week. We have heard a lot of good things about it. This sets the expectations higher! We were not disappointed!!! We had pork belly satay for appetizer , and oh boy , it's the best pork belly I had here in US . The peanut sauce compliments very well . It is close to a "lechon"! Their caprese salad is so refreshing that I can eat it all day . The Tomahawk steak is the best steak we had. We ordered medium rare and it came out perfect!! It's so good that you don't need a steak sauce. We are definitely going back!

Sheryl B.

Yelp
The food and drinks were 100 percent on point and delicious. Our waiter was also great and the ambience was perfect. 10/10!!! Highly recommend!!

Leroy H.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences that our family is having quite some time. From start to finish every part of our meal was top shelf, from the cheddar biscuits, to the well mixed drinks to the generous and delicious entrees. I had the ribeye which I would put toe to toe with any of the best steaks from the best steakhouses that I've ever had. This will be our go-to spot for fine dining for any future Rehoboth visits. Highly recommend!!

S H.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey , but to be expected for such a fine dining establishment. The service is very friendly and servers were knowledgeable. The manager (owner?) even ran down the street 5 min after a couple had left something behind.

Yelp
Rehoboth is will known for having outstanding food options, and we had high hopes for this place; however, this was unfortunately not the case. I should note, our waiter was exceptional and answered any and all questions, and was more than accommodating. 5/5 service. The primary issue with the meal was $75 it cost for a 10oz filet mignon. In the current market, the price point is about right, but the quality should be far superior to what it was. This reminded me of a grocery store steak that you'd get on the discount rack for $15 on a Monday afternoon. I ordered the filet medium rare, and it came out well done. Not sure how a steakhouse of this magnitude doesn't know how to cook a filet, but they offered to replace it and I got it back again. Upon cutting into it the second time it was closer to medium well/medium but I didn't feel like making another big stink about it. Meanwhile when walking out of the restaurant, I noticed a man's filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare, so why couldn't this be accomplished for mine? When the meal costs $280 total, everything on the table should be phenomenal. Hopefully this place can get it together. Again, I want to reiterate, service was awesome and that was the high point of the night!

Yelp
Houston White is a very small restaurant with tons of charm and ambience, but better suited for a non-pandemic visit. My wife and I were promptly seated for our 6 PM reservation and the restaurant was not terribly busy. However, by the time we were ready for dessert all the questionably spaced tables were occupied and we felt crowded in and uncomfortable enough to forgo dessert and ask for our check. Exiting the restaurant required that we navigate between two rows of tables and in and around staff and several customers standing in the foyer waiting to be seated. Restaurant staff proved to extremely attentive and engaging. Our food scorecard: We shared the harvest salad that was overwhelmed by an exceptionally large scoop of Burrata cheese. We should have gone with the Caesar. My wife's scallop entree consisted of four incredibly tasty scallops accompanied by risotto that she found to be overly rich. The Delmonico steak was cooked to perfection and I would rank in the top five of my all-time favorite restaurant steaks. The half-size salted baked potato (compared to a standard russet) was excellent but begged for sour cream and/or scallions (neither of which were offered). Almost half of the plate was devoted to Brussel sprouts; nicely prepared but how many Brussel sprouts can a person eat (fortunately, I like them as alternatives were few and far between)? We will not return to Houston White until the pandemic runs its course or until such time outside seating returns. The limited confines of the venue and the pandemic limited menu are hard to overlook.

Yelp
Our dinner was three nights ago and we are still talking about it. The food was excellent, the service was attentive without interrupting conversation, and the ambience delightful. In particular the ribeye was one of the best steaks I have had in years. The meat was very flavorful and juicy and cooked just as I like it. My only quibble is with the prices. I expect high prices for this caliber steak, but $12 for side dishes and $7 for a sauce is a bit much. Still, we'll be back.
