"Chef Paul Kulik, formerly of wine bar La Buvette and the wine-centric Boiler Room Restaurant, knows grapes and terroir. His new wine shop and bar, in the Old Market, focuses on his favorites, including more obscure offerings, along with select beer and liquors. Regular samplings take place in the tasting room, which is through a set of doors adjacent to the bar at his old market restaurant, Le Bouillon. He also hosts wine-focused pop-ups in the space, and a wine club lets oenophiles attend a release party each month." - Sarah Baker Hansen

Great selection of wine and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff! They also have a great wine tasting setup and you can grab a bottle and dine at Le Bouillon or take it down to Mon Cavé!

Only had some apppitizers but they were yummy. Deep fried cheese curds were lightly breaded and had some green onion bits. Much lighter version than the typical kind and were great with O Gold beer. The burnt end corn dogs were an amazing riff on the fletcher corn dogs that are a staple at most southern state fairs. Batter was crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Slightly sweet and the homemade ketchup paired well. The smoked cream cheese salmon spread on their homemade bread was crazy good. Plenty of salmon in the spread so the cream cheese didn't overpower the flavors. The homemade bread was like Texas toast on steroids! I could eat a whole loaf of that bread.

Great place to find wines that are enjoyable and from small producers.

Yelp
We came in and enjoyed a little wine tasting by the ounce. Nice experience trying different wines from different countries. Place is big, enough for large parties and groups to get together or evening out for two. We sat at the bar which also has plenty of space to sit and eat. Service was good, very friendly staff. We didn't eat lunch or dinner but had just snack while we did the tasting.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our time at Howard Street wine merchants on an impromptu date night. Loved the variety of wine options at the bar and in the cellar.

Yelp
Very nice collection of wines. The gentleman working there was more than willing to offer suggestions or answer any questions. Very inviting, I felt like I was visiting the private wine collection in someone's home. There's a lovely restaurant attached I hope to check out before I leave town.

Yelp
If you are into boring ass wine because everything below your waist hasn't tingled since the Reagan administration than this place isn't for you. If you are into ripping sick hits of whatever pet nat and gizzim is then get down here, they got mad grenache. Plus the manager said I can set up a stick and poke in the back, so get at me if you love Garfield because I can only do Garfield. Oh as an added bonus their wine isn't cooked as fuck from sitting out in the sun for 6 months .

Yelp
Had an amazing afternoon sipping wine while sitting at the small window side table watching the rainfall. This is just an intriguing place. Came in for the free wine tasting and couldnt make ourselves leave. The guy running the tasting was very friendly, personable, knowledgeable and accomadating. I will be coming back every week to hear his largest recommendations and enjoy an amzing new wine.

Yelp
As usual Howard Street Wine's staff went above and beyond for me this week! I had a great experience ordering wines for delivery, even over the phone their excellent customer service and suburb selection made my day. This place is an Omaha gem. Thanks guys, you're truly the best!

Yelp
A real gem - staff is always hugely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of french and Italian wines - best in Omaha.

Russ C.

Yelp
I tend to be a California wine snob, so went in here to try some French and other wines from Europe. The young man behind the counter either didn't know anything about the wines they offer or was just indifferent. Couldn't tell for sure, but he certainly was not helpful. We ended up leaving because of his attitude.
