Howdy Homemade Ice Cream

Great spot for ice cream near Kansas City! Yummy ice cream and a really cool mission. My little brother wanted to go in and get another serving! He did get a t shirt. We liked salted caramel, orange dreamscicle, and chocolate! The workers were very helpful and friendly. I’ve followed Howdy Handmade for a while and was so excited when they announced the Lee Summit location. Everyone near here needs to go try!

We happened to stop by this ice cream shop totally by chance — we were heading to UPS next door and noticed it. Turns out, today was their first day open (I think!), and we’re so glad we walked in. The vibe is super sweet and welcoming, the branding colors are beautiful, and the staff was really kind. The ice cream was amazing — we tried three scoops: strawberry, salted caramel, and Dr. Pepper (which I’ve never had in ice cream form before — so cool!). Everything tasted delicious, and the whole experience just felt warm and happy. We’ll definitely be back!

Great place with great people working in it. They always serve customers with a smile and are very friendly. Good selection of ice cream and combinations.

This place had very good homemade ice cream, served by people with smiling faces who clearly cared. I asked to sample a flavor that didn’t seem like it would have nuts, and the employee politely let me know that it contained almonds. I don’t have a nut allergy, but the fact that they told me beforehand was above and beyond what I would have expected.

We have been twice so far , once during their soft opening , and another time last weekend . The ice cream is very yummy , the staff is so friendly and the shop is as cute as can be ! We definitely recommend stopping in and trying it if you are in the mood for a sweet treat ! I also love the inclusion there, it makes my heart happy !

Came in last night and got the Dr. Pepper chocolate chip and the banana that had chocolate chips in it . Both were absolutely delicious! The service was great as well. It was our first time in there and both employees that were working were very helpful and super nice. We will be back!

Really good. Light and creamy, almost soft serve texture, but full of flavors. Really quick, attentive service. Good experience, good ice cream!

The ice cream is so good here! Today we tried the Salted Carmel and the Dr. Pepper w/chocolate and loved them both!!! The atmosphere was so fun and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be going back!

If you have not been here give it a try. You will not be disappointed. The staff is wonderful as is the ice cream they produce on site. It's rich and creamy in a wide variety of flavors. The decor is cute with the detail on one wall that looks like a waffle cone. The peanut butter cup I was was delicious. Hope you will stop in soon.

The staff is absolutely fantastic. Such hard workers who really care about a job well done. Many floret ice cream flavors. This place isn't cheap but worth the splurge!

You walk in to so many smiling faces, and such an adorable atmosphere. We got the birthday cake ice cream and banana pudding (which was SO SO GOOD!). Everyone was great, and helpful. We can't wait to come back and try more flavors!

Such a cute place with a sunny happy welcome when I walked in! The staff is so nice and super helpful! Now the ice cream...I tried several flavors including a very unique one, Dr. Pepper Chocolate Chip, it's so good if you love Dr. Pepper! All of their ice cream is homemade and so rich and creamy. Their flavors are awesome too. I went with their Lemon Crunch which is real lemon ice cream with crushed up Lemonheads candy. OMG it's like the best lemonade ice cream!! I also had a scoop of their Banana Pudding which is super tasty and has little frozen banana pieces in it. Both scoops in a waffle cone bowl that is better than your average waffle cone, it has a light vanilla cinnamon flavor and is delightful with the ice cream. They have a loyalty card too! I will be back, this new place is a little gem on the North side of Lee's Summit!

Wow! This is REALLY good ice cream and the staff is delightful! The shop is cute but, nothing pulled the eye or gave a clue as to the wonderful creation to experience.

I was really excited to have ice cream parlor in my area. Stop in this location and one scoop $5.89 and it was a small scoop. I can go to Custer last stand and get a great scoop for 5.89.

This newly opened shop is a charming addition to the Woods Chapel strip that has a Greek and Mexican restaurant. The chairs are pink. Cute signs say things like "Don't let your ice cream melt while you count someone else's sprinkles.". I stopped by and tried several flavors before landing on Birthday Cake and Lemon Pound Cake. The cashier was a down syndrome guy but certainly nice and helpful. They were not too busy and I was able to assess the menu and flavors. The prices are decent for home made ice cream: $3 for 1 scoop and 6 for 2 scoops. Toppings were a dollar each. They also have a big togo freezer of flavors by the pint for $10 each. I enjoyed my scoops and accepted a loyalty punch card for the next time. This is a special business because it gives jobs to mentally disabled people. Keep this in mind if you are wanting express service.

Tommy, Eric, JaNiya and Sabrina were very friendly and the ice cream was delicious! Highly recommended coming here any day of the week.
