When you walk into Howie's Market you immediately notice that it's different! The produce glistens with freshness. The aisles are filled with quality products and hard-to-find items. Limited selection of certain products is limited but quality is apparent. Unique selection of cheeses. Ready-to-drink beverages filled with protein and nutrients were available in the coolers. In the dry goods section they even had Dodger collectibles available. There is a complete liquor store available through an arch near the bakery. The fresh baked items were enticing. Customer service was outstanding. Friendly clerks were available at checkout. Be aware that Alexander's Prime Meats and deli is located within the Market. The whole shopping experience was enjoyable. Parking was easy to find in their private parking lot. Prices reflect the quality of this exceptional market.

I decided to go to Alexander's Prime Meats in Howie's Market to order my prime rib roast for Christmas dinner. They seem to have great reviews on Google. I don't mind paying a premium price if the quality of the meat is equal to the high price. I noticed that the store is well stocked and organized. This store reminds me of a country. store with a family-friendly atmosphere. It is a unique market with quality products. They have wine for every occasion for you to enjoy. The fruit and vegetables are of high quality and nicely displayed. Their bakery is small compared to the rest of the stores departmens. I enjoyed browsing through the store and I will return to pick up my prime rib roast before Christmas. Great place to shop.

I have been patronizing this meat market for years. Never disapointed. Are their cut of meat pricier than others? But you get what you paid for. There is no good and cheap. Only place you can get no good and cheap is Asian markets. Get a chain saw at your dinner table, when time to chow.

This market is a neighborhood gem for fresh produces and meats. This is on the corner of Duarte and San Gabriel Blvd. I have passed this place so many times before and never went in to shop. My son can back from San Diego and wanted to shop for fresh steak meat. He suggested that we visit this place. I was surprised when I went in to find all these nice and fresh produces and the extensive custom cut meats. They even sell aging beef. They are more of a mini Trader Joe’s for the local neighborhood. Like Trader Joe’s, they also have unique selections of wines from all over the world. I saw a section of Italian wines from different regions. For the red wines, I saw a good number of sauvignon carbonated wines from France. I also noticed the fruits on the shelves were so fresh. They all looked like they were just came in from the farm. I haven’t explored the whole store yet. They seem to have good amount of cheese selections too. We will come back to look through their cheese and other meat selections next time.

Man most friendly service come in everyone gives you respect and ask if you need anything. Now let me tell you I love meat and visit a ton of meat markets but nothing smelled this good being cooked out front the beef, turkey , chicken all well season an so juice the beef especially wish I had a picture to show but I ate it so fast with no sauce best beef I ever tasted an cooked will definitely come back to snack for lunch again.😄

Excellent fresh food, but pricy. You pay for what you get. They have bakery in the front and the side prepared food to serve those who do not want to cook. Excellent fresh streak, they carry Japanese Kobe (Wagyu) and dry aging streak. They also provide private catering service. On the weekend they have tri-tip BBQ by the front store. The store features in many filming commercial advertising. Pls place to pickup ham for the holiday!

Wonderful, small Neighborhood market with large wine department, in house, bakery, and another fine selections.

First time here and BOOM hit exactly what I needed. I was looking to pickup some lunch on way to a local brewery that doesn’t have food and their deli was perfect. One of the guys recommended the Chili Verde Pot Pie as 🔥 and yes sir it was. I will definitely be back as everything in the deli looked great. Even took two sandwiches to go.

Blast from the past! Family owned and operated, Personal, friendly, helpful, amazing butcher shop and liquor store. The overall vibe is just the kinda place you wana shop. Love going there, just feels right And they do like their ice cream

There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big. Lots of parking spots for you to choose from. This small, family owned supermarket doesn't get busy, so you shouldn't have a problem with parking. The spots are also pretty big. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and organized. The aisles are wide too. You have a variety of fresh fruits and veggies to choose from. They also have a cute and small bakery inside the grocery store. A favorite of mine is their banana cream pie. Their coconut cream pie is dope too. They have a very nice fresh produce, deli, meat and seafood section. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

I really enjoy the deli at Howie's Market. The food is fresh and the ribs are delicious. They make great salads and side dishes as well. I take all my friends to Howie's when they come out and visit. My friends and family members are hard to please because we were raised on real SOUL FOOD. Howies ribs are almost as good as my Big Mama's, not quite, but close. Great job Howie Keep those ribs a coming!:)

Went their to price out some brisket, and the butcher staff were happy to help and enthusiastic about their products. I already had a brisket, but it was lower quality.... so I wanted to see how much a 'REAL' brisket cost; the result? about 15% more... TOTALLY WORTH IT. While i was there, I inquired about bbq sauce for my brisket which they recommended from their selections. Outcome? Best BBQ sauce i've ever had. It was expensive, but again.... worth it! I am returning in 2 weeks for that brisket.

This is a small market that has a little bit of everything. It is not like your typical market (Albertsons, Ralph's, etc). You wait in one line for the meat/seafood/ready to eat area and you wait in one line for the cashier. They have a beverage aisle that contained some "vintage" pop and had some higher quality soap brand (dr. Sasquach) on their shelves. The staff at every station is very nice, polite, and patient. The ambiance is casual and noise level was very low compared to normal supermarkets. Their ready to eat area has daily specials and always have a great selection to choose from. I remember having pot roast on Mondays. We were exhausted and didnt want to make dinner so we bought some tri tip, potato salad, mac and cheese, and some other pasta to take home. Their price is a little high, but what I really appreciated was the cashier separating cold, room temperature, and hot items together. Then separating the items that were heavier (glass) into a separate bag. I had a pleasant visit and enjoyed my experience at this market.

Howie's Market is one of those hidden gems you almost want to keep hidden - but the people deserve to know! My wife and I happened to stumble upon this market months ago - and now's it's become our grocery store. + High Quality Produce + Great staff + The best and freshest meat selections + Products you can't find anywhere else Whether you want to pick up some ingredients for a delicious spaghetti, some quality duck, or some veggies to grill - this is where you find the highest quality products. As soon as you step in, it's clear the store is managed thoughtfully and with the customer experience in mind. Highly recommended

Great place to get meats and other garnishes. My husband loves this place. We did steaks for Thanksgiving this year and my family loved it. It is a little pricey but the quality is excellent. They also have a great selection of fresh vegetables and fruits as well.

Amazing market with high quality and fresh produce and products. Alexander's meats is inside their market and it's our go to high quality butcher shop. Prices are very reasonable for the premium quality meats, produce, and products they provide!

Great selection of quality meats and produce! We kept seeing signs for "Alexanders Prime Meats" when we drive by on San Gabriel. It's not a restaurant but a local store and butcher shop. Parking is available in their ample lot. Weekends they grill meats outside. Inside there is a liquor section and produce area as well as frozen and packaged staples. The bakery section has cakes, cookies, as well as bread from Green St Restaurant. Where they shine is their broad selection of quality meats (prime and A5 Wagyu too) as well as pre marinated meats. The hot deli and meats section has already roasted/bbq/grilled foods like tritip, sausages, chops and steak. We got a juicy hot dog with all the fixins ($3.99) and a tri tip sandwich ($10.99) plus picana and potato egg salad by the lbs. Very delicious!

Small markets that shine in all categories are becoming a rare breed at present, often family affairs, many fade as subsequent generations either stop carrying the flame or else dies out. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case here, and now, in at least the second location since opening, this fine market fills a niche, comfortably close to San Marino. We were cutting across town when we saw the sign, and my gf was excited. Apparently, this was a favorite place of hers in the old location. Interestingly, I had bookmarked the establishment in Yelp, so that was all I needed to stop for a while. After dim sum at Bistro 1968, that is, but in the future, this will be a destination place to shop, especially because their meat selection is a cut above and then some. On weekends they have activities in the parking lot. For example, every Saturday, they BBQ meats and sausages fresh for sale. On Sundays, they have a vendor who performs knife sharpening until about 1pm, so that's worth exploring. And, periodically, they have wine tasting. I regret not going back that day for the 3pm Bordeaux selection. Get on their mailing list or social media page for the schedule of events. Quality: Yes, there is a small price to pay for gourmet goods, but I was especially impressed wandering around at the attention to detail the employees exhibit at various tasks. In produce, the clerk carefully selected, trimmed, and sorted green beans before arranging them in the display. Where else do you see that happen? Almost nowhere, right? The meat and seafood selection was equally impressive, the carefully selected beef by grade, pork, sausages, lamb, and everything was appealing (ok, I'm not writing for vegans or vegetarians here but they would find plenty to appeal elsewhere in the store). One thing that really got me excited for grilling season was the 3.5 to 4" thick Florentine steaks (essentially massive porterhouse cuts). The general stock is well considered, too. we picked up two types of French butter: Saltless, the kind most used for cooking, and one combined with fleur de sel, the flaky, coarse sea salt. We found this especially good with pancakes and toast. The wine selection is also excellent. While I didn't get to browse long, I learned they have periodic tastings and seem to be very adept at selecting Old World varieties. I have always loved these rare types of stores and markets that cater to discriminating tastes. I wish I lived closer, but that's a good reason to pack an ice chest when I do go out to shop.

Was looking for Green Street salad dressing and cheese infused with balsamic vinegar. Found them here. I know this place is popular with locals. I found this just ok in terms of service. Was looking for seltzer water. Asked 1st clerk who was refilling shelves and she gestured "Over those isles". Ok. I walked over and couldn't find them. Stopped to ask another clerk and she said.."over in that aisle". I eventually found sparking flavored water on the end cap. I went back to Clerk 2 and told her it was sparkling flavored water and I needed plain seltzer water. She seemed annoyed and said "If it's not on the shelf then we don't have any." Sadly this interaction made me feel like unless you are a regular customer, they don't value your business. Will only be returning to purchase my 2 items that local stores don't carry.

Great local market with a first rate liquor department and an epic meat counter (Alexander's Prime Meats). Old school service and charm. A cornerstone of our neighborhood for decades, longer than I have been alive.

Meat Review Only Family favorite market - this is where we buy the meats for all the random "just because i can" and holiday dinners. Great selections and prices. Small parking lot, but never had an issue finding a spot. Employees are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

What a find!! A true local gem of a market! Howie's is packed full of fresh and unique brands and offerings - they even sell cheese from Marin French Cheese Co up near Petaluma California - the oldest cheese shop in the country!! And it's incredible cheese!! So excited I can get it nearby! Howie's has all sorts of good stuff - from a large selection of local craft brews in their huge alcohol room, to Fosselman's ice cream and homemade stocks and sauces in the freezer! And their produce section was a rainbow of fresh choices!! And what I absolutely love is that so much of it is LOCAL!! Alexander's Prime Meats is also located in Howie's which has become my go-to for any fresh meat or seafood - the quality is amazing and totally justifies the price (but prices are decent anyways). The bakery section has a large selection of decadent- looking treats - very hard to resist! And their fresh in-house sourdough bread is delicious! You'd think a local store like this would be expensive but it's not! Prices were competitive for most items - especially the produce - but the quality is definitely superior! The store is the cleanest I've ever been in - and the staff are all friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Plenty of parking in a very accessible location (and the entire store is handicap accessible as well)- can't go wrong here. Will definitely be my go-to store from now on.

Love howies market! So nice and cute especially during the holidays. Lately I've noticed it's featured in a few shows too lol I'm so use to it I forgot what a hidden gem it is . I highly recommend especially during this season. I really want them to add more veggie friendly options to their deli or to their weekend grill please :)

Our first time visiting this fantastic, neighborhood market while we had our knives sharpened and we are so glad stopped by. They have great selection of artisan brands and unique flavors such as coffee, bbq spices, tortilla chips, jams, jerky, and etc. Since it was close to lunch we decided to grab a few sandwiches from their deli inside. We had a tri tip (weekends only) and mortadella and capaciollo sandwich. The tri tip was so flavorful and full of meat for such a great price. They sell Fossellman's ice cream, too! I'll take pictures next time-we were so hungry we couldn't wait.

Every weekend at Howie's there is fresh tri tip being made on the grill rain or shine! You can get a tri tip sandwich made for you inside by the hot case area. They have a variety of things you can get from chicken kabobs to hot dogs not to mention a lot of salads. I enjoyed the pasta salad too. The gentleman who is always outside grilling is very kind and always gives wonderful service. They often have a bubble machine going out there and he refilled it when it was getting low because my daughter was enjoying the bubbles! I recommend stopping by to try some of the food at this market!

Came on a Sunday for the knife sharping and stop inside to check out the assortments and BBQ. Saw some very unique items which I love, the produce is super fresh, high end meat case. The grocery store is quite small. Some of the associates are super friendly and some were not, mix bag. The customers that shopped there from parking lot and navigating through the market were a bit self absorbed and had no kindness to others around them. Maybe it's the weekend crowd? I will come back for the hard to find items but I think I'm going to avoid the weekends.. weekends apparently being out the beasts of humanity. Oh and can you try to get vanilla paste? Can't find that anywhere!

I've been coming to Howie's since 1956, actually that was my mother, I usually had to wait outside in the baby stroller. This was way back when the building was a white clapboard shack with the rolling waterfall beer sign. It's small but beautiful, and the selection includes products I shop for all the time, as well as unique items that I grab, especially at Christmas time. Of course the meat counter is exceptional and the liquor store seems to have it all. I mostly purchase breakfast foods and fresh produce here, better than the things sold at the large groceries. It's easier to shop the special items, for holiday as well as special desserts and candies - and a freezer full of Fosselman's ice cream . Beats Trader Joe's.

I called in a few days before Christmas to check if they still had prime rib and if they happened to sell lobster tails. The guy on the phone was extremely helpful and attentive, confirming they had everything we wanted. My dad went in on the 23rd to pick up the rib roast, some tails, and horseradish. It's my first time ordering from this market, and I gotta say that the prime rib was absolutely divine. They even removed the ribs and tied them back on to the roast, which I was already planning to do myself. Extra time saved. The horseradish was also superb. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the lobster. It did smell a little fishy right after we thawed them, but nothing too off-putting so I went ahead and butter poached them. The first bite hit me in the face, it was an extremely strong taste/smell of ammonia, and I felt my nose burning a bit. It's a real shame because we spent about $180 bucks on the tails alone. Maybe stick to getting meat and not seafood from this place.

You need to come here and buy their good food! The produce was fresh, beautiful and unblemished. The meats were various and of TOP QUALITY! The marbling of some if their meats were a thing of beauty. You won't be bored of their selection of food and drink, take your time! The husband and son went yesterday and bought beef short ribs that were divine. Fatty, tender, flavorful. The protein was so good we all came to visit the next day. This time we had sashimi on the menu- the seafood counter man (didn't catch his name, sorry!) was generous enough to give some of their sashimi sauce! That sauce with their fish topped with a bit of slivered green onion is as good as it gets! Forget the sushi restaurants and come here to make your own sushi and sashimi. There were a variety of sodas I was intrigued to buy and cheeses too. I even bought a Dr. Squatch bar of soap (Slytherin scented)! You will end up buying something because their selection is so interesting and top notch. Hope your future good eats starts here!

Howie's is SGV's version of a specialty grocery store with an amazing butcher shop. I've purchased food for friends, had my birthday party catered and bought food for summer concert picnics. The possibilities are endless with this amazing market.

Small store but has premium meats supposedly. I only had the Thanksgiving turkey and it was NOT good at all. Husband wouldn't eat it either. Been around a long time, so I will try the prime rib sometime. Annoying that person who answered the phone said someone would call me for a refund of my $47 awful turkey, but no one ever called me back.

Meat quality is fantastic! It's on the pricier side but you taste the difference. Everyone is always friendly, and knowledgeable. Parking is always hassle free.

I love shopping at Howie's. It is clean and well stocked with a variety of items. Their staff are very friendly and helpful. Oh and their meat department - hands down- they offer the best meat in LA. They have Wagyu beef, prime grade steaks, and kurobuta pork! I bought some rib eye steaks and asked the butcher to slice it in half since we prefer a thinner cut. The service was superb. They also have a small bakery located at the front - towards the right side of the store when you enter. My favorites are their pies and muffins. If you haven't shopped here, I would highly recommend for you to give it a try. If you're a carnivore, you'll fall in love with their meat.

Howie's has been around for so long and for good reason. Quality products and top notch service. My favorites at Howie's are the Alexander's steaks and also the BBQ section for their empanadas and Tri Tip. SERVICE The service is always great here. From the security to the guys behind the steak counter to the checkout. PARKING They have their own small parking lot (free). I've never had too much trouble parking. It's the perfect sized lot.

Dope independent family owned market! Beautiful selection of fruit and vegetables. Organic options definitely available. The quality of the fruit was sweet and delicious as well, definitely on par with Sprouts. Their meat selection is absolutely amazing. Beautiful cuts of fish, dry aged meat, wagyu, pork shoulder, pork butt, tri tip, swordfish, salmon. You name it, they have it. They also have already cooked BBQ on the side, great to pick up for lunch or dinner for the family. Their selection of other items were also intriguing. They do carry the common brand name items. But they also carry names I have never even heard of, and I found some gems. Their baked goods selection is plentiful and again delicious. They have whole pies for around 13-14 dollars. Banana cream pie. Vegan baked goods. Fruit pies. Danish. Brownie, chocolate, bread. And last but not least, the alcohol section. Absolutely blown away. So many brand names I've never heard of. Decent prices too. A great selection of wine, the staff picks are all highly rated online. People are friendly and helpful, answered all of my questions patiently. Come give this independent market a try. Their prices are a bit higher than ralphs or vons, but that's understandable and justified with their good products. Vegans. Meat lovers. True yelpers. BBQ aficionados. Wine lovers. Or just someone looking to do their weekly grocery shopping, give this place a chance. You won't regret it.

A lot of fun, unique and tasty finds here!! What I love about this store is that they have everything I need so I can visit just one grocery store on my runs. It's also really organized here with vegetables all lined up neatly. The staff are all really friendly and it gives off a cozy vibe while also meeting city demands!!

If there was a place where I wanted carefully, curated items for a grocery store then this is the no-brainer place that I'd go to. It's super clean here, the staff is incredibly helpful, and they're also friendly here. I definitely appreciate that their fresh produce all look good, and that things that are nearing towards the expiration date goes into a separate shelf where (I think) it's sold cheaper. The meat department is, again, a gem but I've already written about that in my Alexander's Prime Meats review (and it still is just as good from when I wrote it a year ago) Definitely yes to this place!

Howies is the best! The customer service is great. The produce is always fresh and they always seem to have that one ingredient I was looking for. The staff in the back at Alexander's Meats is also top notch with first class selections every day.

Have bought very expensive meat at their butcher. Tri-tip was awesome. However twice now I felt very disappointed after spending more than in a regular market and getting a super fatty gelatinous hunk of meat . Once with a brisket and another time I paid $15/lb for beef short ribs that were so fatty with huge bones and very little meat. Also I don't know if this is normal but butcher did not wear gloves when handling the meat and did not lay down tissue on scale or wipe it before or after using. I didn't say anything but it did seem odd and I wondered if it was sanitary.

Most neighborhoods are plagued with Liquor stores selling lotto tickets, junk food and energy drinks. The tone is definitely set when you first walk in. Howie's is a market for prime items. Staff is very friendly and the guys at the meat counter are the shining stars. I explained my reason for being there and the gentlemen at the counter was a guide. I completely appreciated every single word and recommended a seasoning that was the cherry on top. I am new to cooking and was looking for something special. After spending hours on YouTube researching dishes and recipes, I needed all star lineup of items for my feature dish. Covid has reprioritized our family's daily life. Meals have become the foundation of each day. I was referred to Howie's by a close friend who is getting into the Smoker game. He was raving about the meat department, specifically the brisket. I was there for one thing....Fish. I love meat but for health reasons, I am migrating towards sea food. The family love Ahi and I found an absolute gem here. I grabbed some albacore too but my Howie moment was with the Halibut. I pick up two gorgeous halibut steaks that until now, I picked up at Costco. I know, I know, but like I said, I am new to the game. However, being new doesn't mean you can ride with the big dogs. Make some time to visit Howie's. You deserve to give yourself the opportunity to enjoy the joy of cooking. There should be a Howie's Market in every neighborhood.

What a disappointment (again)! Staff was not friendly AT ALL. No smile, no recognition of customers in the store or at checkout. Just surly little 20-something cashiers grunting at the checkout line about how hard their day was. Not even a thank you or have a nice day. I would fire all of these employees. Skip this over-priced corner market and go somewhere that your business is appreciated!

Excellent little market on the corner of San Gabriel and Duarte Road. Always bright fresh and clean and you always get a nice greeting from the employees. Love shopping here especially for the meats which is a separate business within this business called Alexander's Prime meats

On a Sunday afternoon in March, my sister and I was driving by and seen the bbq tent cooking. We went inside and ordered the tri tip sandwiches $9.99 at the meat counter with sauce on the side. We waited for several minutes for the counter person prepared the sandwiches. While waiting, the market has a very good meat area with dry aged meats, tomahawk steaks, etc. The market also sells fosselman ice cream in a gallon $8.99. They carry everything like any supermarket. Once I got home, the tri tip sandwich nicely wrapped in Saran Wrap. The meat was chewy and piled high of meats. I was able to save the extra meats for another sandwich. Delicious sandwiches and I highly recommend them. FYI, tri tip sandwich only during weekends

I'm in love with this market, especially the meat and Deli Dept. It's really pricey , but, for for a single person you can get a great meal for one person. They also have some really good sauces, Homemade soups and rubs. My FAVORITE is the Sabatino Tartufi Truffle zest! OMG, so Good. The reason for only 4 stars is because of the guy in the meat dept with the handlebar mustache. Every time I go in he is very rude, I brought my mom in today as I have been raving about Howies and she wanted to try it out. She wanted to look at everything in the Deli and the meat dept so she could decide. TWICE this a-hole told her to move to the back of the line! We told him that we had already come up from THE BACK OF THE LINE and wanted to look. Shame on you mustache guy...because of you I dont think we will be back and i spend about 300 bucks a week at Howies! No more because of how rude you are. Sorry to my mom for this guy giving you a bad experience.

We have been coming here for over two years and OMG. First the folks that work here are awesome friendly and never disappoint with their recommendations. Second their cut of steaks especially the tomahawks are hands down the best is all of so cal. Their selection of seafood is to die for. Fair warning don't go there hungry or you will buy everything on sight it's that good.

Really nice market . There are many parts to this store. Deli, butcher, wine , liqour and beer . Nice amount of produce. Healthy selection of groceries. The staff want to make sure you are finding everything you need. They always ask you if you need help finding things . They were also grilling food outside. They also sell Lasorda wine. RIP Tommy Lasorda.

Very fresh but on the pricier side. Think of your neighborhood friendly grocery store (like you see in the movies), and Howie's Market is it! I've been here a few times & their selection is great. Keep in mind that it is a SMALL grocery store so don't think this is a Whole Foods or Ralph's. They have the usual type of grocery items. They are incredibly fresh, great quality & well packaged but like I mentioned, on the pricier side compared to Ralph's. Their service is impeccable! So friendly & helpful. Never had an experience where they were NOT nice. I've seen a huge line during COVID times (same with the Trader Joe's down the street) because it IS a small market so their limitation is pretty tight. So I say, be patient with them. Ohhh, what a gem! My friend has been telling me about the good selection of meat here, but never really bothered checking it out. Last weekend, my husband was looking for wagyu, and we remembered the recommendation and was so glad we dropped by! Price of the A5 wagyu from Japan is the same elsewhere, but the quality here is way better (compared to Costco's and Eataly's). The butcher/the meat section attendant was also super pleasant and helpful. Never did I hear a tone of impatience at all even after having to answer so many questions from us. Apart from usual supermarket stuff, they also have La Brea bread, great coffees, a cake shop, and a huge selection of wine! Good, good, good stuff here!

Well, this afternoon I felt adventurous with my choice of menu and I felt like a morsel of rib eye and its pretty darn delicious! Granted, I made basically chicken finger size steak for myself. With sweet corn and my daily mixed berry smoothie with whey lol Thanks to my stage 2 post gastric resection or stomach removal surgery due to cancer. I'm involved in the rebuilding of my digestive system. Newly released to my red meat intake.

Review edited* After the message from Denise, i went to grab another pie and it was great! i'm still not sure why the first pie was sour but that has been resolved. Prior review: I have been getting the unbaked chicken pot pies for months here this week i got it on wednesday and baked saturday for breakfast and it was sour i called the store and the lady that picked up said it's fine because the chicken is precooked and hung up. ok but why has the taste changed? why is every bite sour and putrid unlike before? I'm not sure if i got a bad batch but this was very disappointing and i just wasted $10 for nothing That said, the bakery items on this trip were good as usual i got a chocolate chunk cookie, double chocolate cookie, cappuccino muffin, orange blossom muffin, and all were great!

First time at Howie's Market and it's a cute local store. Andrew was a great help! He introduced me to the awesome BBQ that's there on the weekends. He was very informative and had excellent customer service. I'd definitely come back and highly recommend!

This market is a neighborhood gem for fresh produces and meats. This is on the corner of Duarte and San Gabriel Blvd. I have passed this place so many times before and never went in to shop. My son can back from San Diego and wanted to shop for fresh steak meat. He suggested that we visit this place. I was surprised when I went in to find all these nice and fresh produces and the extensive custom cut meats. They even sell aging beef. They are more of a mini Trader Joe's for the local neighborhood. Like Trader Joe's, they also have unique selection of wines from all over the world. I saw a section of Italian wines from different regions. For the red wines, I saw a good number of sauvignon carbonated wines from France. I also noticed the fruits on the shelves were so fresh. They all looked like they were just came in from the farm. I haven't explored the whole store yet. They seem to have good amount of cheese selections too. We will come back to look through their cheese and other meat selections next time.
