It’s super refreshing to have live music though it would nice to have a little more variety. The bartenders are all super friendly, especially Ajsa. She always greets me with such a warm smile and her drinks are delicious. Howl is such a great way to start off my night!

Went for a 90s night - was not 90s themed. To request songs from the band you had to tip way too much money which was so unreasonable. We had wristbands for discounted drinks and the bartenders kept overcharging us even though they saw the wristbands. On top of that, the bartenders were incredibly rude. I will not be returning

I enjoy this place and usually go in the club which is somewhat underneath ; Everything is inexpensive from the admission fee, to the drinks obviously you should not expect fancy stuff inside ..pretty much all the times I have been there the music does not disappoints ,the DJ’s play good mix of retro techno and pop ; the crowd is mostly college like kids and some older folks Overall if you want to shake the stress away ,get couple of high noons maybe get an affair and don’t brake the bank on a Saturday night -this is the place ..not to mention that the upstairs bar has a band with live music ; If you are looking for snobby atmosphere you ll have to go to the seaport -plenty of places there ..

The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. Although there was a company's work event going on, we were still allowed to go inside and find a seat. We ordered some pizza and specialty drinks, and they were all rather good. Our waitress, Haley, was very kind and fun to be around. The dual pianos and musicians were very talented, and made the night, for sure

So much fun!! All of the artists were so talented and great about getting the crowd involved. Our waitress was super helpful and kind. There was plenty of seating along the sides and back of the bar. The dance floor is a good size too.

I had a blast! Ajsa was the best! She, along with the rest of the staff, were so kind and attentive. Will def return.

Hosted our friend's 50th birthday at Howl at the Moon on Saturday and we had the BEST time! The musicians were all so talented and had us on our feet dancing the whole night! Will definitely be back.

What a fun night! We had reservations for a bachelorette party, so getting in and getting to our table was easy. The buckets were plentiful, and good (though, the bride chose flavors I wasn't very into). Chill vibes and great entertainment.

Some friends and I popped by Howl at the Moon to celebrate my graduation this weekend. We arrived just a few minutes after opening and went downstairs to the dance floor area. The cover (for women, we had no men in our party so not sure if it's different) was only $10 each. The downstairs filled up pretty quickly, DJs were awesome (we tipped them each $5 and they let us behind the DJ booth), and I loved the lighting and vibes. Definitely for college kids. Bathrooms were clean. Our bartender was super sweet (dark hair, tattooed) and moved quickly. I got two vodka crans and they were pretty small and light ($10 each I believe), I'm a lightweight and they didn't have much of an impact on me. Only complaint was that two of my friends were let upstairs to the bar area, but me and my two other friends were told we'd have to go back outside and through the main entrance? I'm not sure if they were trying to make us pay another cover or what but it seemed like the bouncer guarding the stairs was selectively allowing certain people upstairs but not others. Sorta weird.

A nice place to have fun on a Saturday night. My friend won a party here and we got to go for discounted drinks and free entry. I had a really fun night and the discounted drinks are a good deal but other than the drinks on discount the others were quite pricy. The free buffet advertised was also mostly just finger food and dry carbs. Songs were good and there was a dance scene too but to request a song you have to venmo the band.

This has been on my Boston Bucket list since it opened and I'm glad I went. This place is so cool, it's live. The only thing i didn't like is if you make request gotta put your money on it. I get they work on tips but I kept tipping and my songs weren't being played. Other than that it's super cool here, it's huge and everyone is lit and in good spirits. My server was amazing I forget her name but tattood girl, with black hair. She was like beyond amazing. She had to serve tables thru crowds of ppl and did not miss a beat. She added to the experience

A classic going out spot to experience Boston's nightlife! I usually go out here during the wee hours of the night but always have a great time (especially at the downstairs area). The music is popping and the air from the ceiling gives it a club vibe. They also have discounted drinks if a friend is celebrating their bday at howl. fantastic place if you're looking to sing, dance and party

Came here this past Friday night through a complimentary party I received for Howl and Down via a giveaway. There were $4 drink specials (drinks you could choose from were Dirty Shirley, House Margarita, Devils Lemonade, New Amsterdam Vodka Drinks, Myers' Rum Drinks, and White Claws). I had the Dirty Shirley and the House Margarita which were our favorites of the night. The lemonade wasn't so great, but for $4, I couldn't complain. They also weren't super light which was nice, but it's important to note that the drink specials are only available from 6pm-10pm at Howl. Also, another thing to note, these drink specials were apart of the party. Otherwise, I didn't know how much the drinks on the menu were as there were no prices. We enjoyed the appetizer buffet that was available from 6-8pm. Originally we thought this was only for people that were a part of the complimentary party, but it appeared as if it was open to the public. There wasn't too much available, but it was all decently tasty considering it was free. Live music was great and the ambiance of the place was nicely decorated. We wanted to check out the nightclub around 10pm and this was super confusing. We thought the entrance to enter was downstairs (as this would make sense because the nightclub is literally called Down). The bouncer downstairs was on the aggressive end and was screaming at people to get out of the hallway, but I think lots of people were also confused as to how to enter the nightclub. We found out that you actually had to go outside, next door, in order to enter. The line outside to enter Down was incredibly long, but since we were a part of the Howl party, we at least didn't have to pay a cover. Otherwise, there would've been a $10 cover. The music at the nightclub was good, but it gets very packed. Don't be surprised if you get some drinks spilled on you. I appreciated that Howl at the Moon and Down have a partnership/are under the same management (it appears) but they could've done a better job with advertising how and when you could've entered the nightclub. This made it seem like Down was a completely separate entity/business even though the two businesses were physically connected. Overall, service was solid and our waitress was friendly. I would come here again for drink specials!

99% sure someone spiked my drink here. Not that that's necessarily the venue's fault, but not the type of place I ever want to go back again. I'm a very big dude and can handle my drinks. I came here a bit buzzed already and had two drinks and suddenly was falling all over myself, puking my brains out, huge gaps in my memory that night. Didn't drink any more that night and still felt drunk and had issues with remembering things that happened hours later. Thankfully my friends took care of me, but I have never experienced that before unless I've had many, many more drinks than I did.

First and foremost, I am not one to write these sorts of posts. I don't think I ever have before. DON'T GO HERE. I REPEAT. DON'T GO HERE. I went to Howl at the Moon Boston for a friends birthday in which he won a "free" party which enabled everyone to get in without a cover. To sum it up: -- our assigned server was rude in the way she talked to us -- she rarely tended to our table -- she took drinks before people were done with them -- was unclear and opened tabs without communicating with card-owners that a tab was being opened -- thought it was smart to confront and dispute the tip she received, cuss out a customer, and have them removed by security. All of this was simply over a tab of $7.50 -- AVOID SERVER ANGIE... She was terrible and ruined what should have been a fun night out celebrating a friends birthday

Can't believe how rude people at the front door. Ally gave me an attitude when I asked her a simple question about the music. Tyler at bar seemed bothered because I asked for a ginger ale. I wanted to inquire about a job and Mike the manager said I was too old. I guess you have to be under 21 like the rest of them. Unimpressed

Scammed. Got charged for hella drinks that weren't even what I ordered. I get the confusion and that people can make mistakes but I was kicked out as soon as I brought it up to the bartender. Terrible customer service and there's most definitely better places to be at.

The staff here are almost always super nice and accommodating, helpful and willing to answer any and all questions patrons may have. The band is iconic and the line to get in downstairs actually moves and doesn't just sit idle for an hour to make people walking past think it's busy. The dirty Shirley special is always a joy and one of the bartenders working was one of the most fun and awesome bartenders I have gotten drinks from while out. She made the night great, and when nights are good at Howl, they are really good.

Went a few weeks ago with my friend to this bar after dinner and it was super fun! We sat at the bar and listened to their live band perform, which was so good!! We were extremely impressed by their entertainment and loved the songs they sang. We had a few drinks at the bar and were lucky that the hotel we were staying at was only a 5 minute walk from there. Super cute bar and we wanted to check out their club downstairs, but we decided not to because the bouncer wouldn't let us go in through a certain entrance as we were exiting the main bar and didn't want to walk around in the cold finding the other entrance or having to show them our IDs and vaccine cards again. Besides that, I had a nice time there and I'd definitely return!

I honestly usually love this place and have no problems, but Friday night my waitress didn't like the tip I gave her and then proceeded to write her self a $7 tip. I won't list her name but she has completely changed my mind about going back there.

Great dance floor with great music. The upstairs throws solid parties if you are trying to host an event. One of my favorite spots in Boston.

The bartender scammed me. I ordered two drinks and hand him my card. He brings me two literal buckets and a receipt for $50. I say that's not what I ordered. He says he can't undue the charge. The kicker is -- the drinks were sickeningly sweat we could even drink them anyway.

They lost my debit card. After showing the bar tender the charge on my banking app, he still insisted that he had never served me and never had my card... I had the full drink in front of me, and my friend and I never even stepped away from the bar. I asked if we could check the security camera that was directly above us, but I was told that it "didn't work." I cancelled my card immediately, but whole situation was extremely sketchy and the employees were disgustingly rude.

The rudest bartender I've ever encountered in my life. My boyfriend and I kissed in front of him and he yelled at us to, and I quote, "get the **** out of here." I was shocked and confused, he was incredibly rude and insulted us over and over. He yelled at us, shouted at us to leave the establishment and to, and I quote again, "take your tip and get the **** out." I understand not liking PDA but his response to some kisses was actually, genuinely, insane.

If I could give zero stars I would. Howl at the Moon is BLATANTLY homophobic. It's actually quite disgusting. I was a part of a bachelorette party consisting of all women and one man. All women were allowed in the downstairs area and they stopped the one gay man in our party and told him he was not allowed to enter (without giving a reason). Other men were allowed to enter prior to us. If you have any values whatsoever I would consider going literally anywhere else :)

Fun place to dance and hang out with friends. I went with my best friend and the girls were having fun in a safe and comfortable environment . The music was really good.

Howl at the Moon is the best going out spot that I know in Boston. It's definitely at its best term time (since it's mostly filled with Junior and Seniors in college during the school year). It is a cheap and fun night if you do it right. I recommend "winning a party" for yourself and your friends. Here's how it works: You can sign up online, via email, or via text to get free admission and free food for specific hours (9-11 on Thursdays, 7-9 on Fridays and Saturdays, and different times on holidays) for yourself and as many guests as you want. Anyone who gives your name at the door at the appropriate time (given they're 21+) gets free admittance and free food until the given time. You are guaranteed to "win" if you sign up. As the one throwing the party, you also get a few freebies (a sticker, a water bottle, and a beer cozy), and potentially earn cash (if 25+ people come and give your name, you get a $25 gift card, and that amount increases if you bring more people). Once inside, enjoy decent drinks for cheap ($2 for beer or $4 for a basic cocktail with their well/house liquor. Their buckets for splitting are decent and pretty well priced, but the smaller sizes are tiny with all the ice, so I recommend getting the largest size to split with friends if you do that). On the ground floor there's usually a solid live band playing less dancey (more pop or throwback) music. People tend to dance and drink by the band until about 11. Once the club downstairs opens (I can't remember if that's 10 or 11) I recommend going to get your stamp from the club downstairs so you can move to the dance floor whenever you want without waiting in a separate (and in winter, long and cold) line for the club. In my experience, the dj downstairs is always good, playing fun, familiar, and dance-y tunes. The people downstairs also tend to be fun and dancey and young. There's a bar downstairs too. Don't get your drinks there- they exponentially more expensive. If you bring a coat, they also have coat check downstairs for about $5 + tip. It's better to go without one, if possible, because the line can get long. One final tip, take advantage of the free tap water at the bar downstairs. If you're dehydrating from alcohol and dancing, it'll help, and it's always free if you ask for tap water.

our server was amazing and so sweet. went above and beyond for us, even when the bar was packed. the musicians absolutely rocked and were so personable!

This place is awesome!! The punch buckets are definitely worth trying. The Jell-O shot syringes are so fun and you can order them from a roving bartender. Expect a loud, college-aged crowd here. We went on a Saturday and the cover was $10 if I remember correctly.

To the bartender with the long dyed red hair working on the second floor on 06/24/23 - you are a terrible person. I watched her make my drink and completely forget to add in any liquor, so I kindly asked her if she forgot to add the vodka. She immediately became aggressive with me, shouting "you just watched me make it in front of you" - yeah girl, that's the reason why I asked. She proceeded to bitch me out and then when it came time to give a tip, she threw a complete temper tantrum that I didn't tip her. I have worked in the service industry before and my opinion is - avoid verbally berating your customers. If you treat them like shit, they won't tip you. Period. I literally had to tell her she cannot change the tip on there and immediately checked my bank account. I understand this is a high stress job but we all make mistakes and if a customer brings a mistake to your attention you need to take it seriously and not, yanno, just start screaming at them and throwing a fit like a 2 year old.

We went here on a less busy night, so I can't really speak to the vibes on a Friday/Saturday. However, there was live music that was pretty good, and they were playing a lot of hits. We were dancing and having a good time! Also the bucket was a great price! Came out to only about $20 with tax and tip for a 32 oz. And it tasted super good !! Would love to come back here on a busier night to see what it's like!

Want really impressed with this place. It's not really a dueling piano bar, it's more like louder background music. Pro: nice bar setup. Good view from mostly everywhere. Service was pretty good. Cons: were there for an hour and a half. Place was only 1/2 full and didn't play our request which we tipped very well. Music could have been louder and more interactive. We got these drink in a bucket..the straws were strange and just difficult to get it to your mouth. The buckets were expensive with a very minimal amount of liquor. Overall, I probably would not go back to this one. The actual dueling of pianos show is a thousand times better in Providence.

Terrible experience last night at Down of Howl at the moon. I was there for a graduation party and around 12 PM my friend got kicked out for having his shirt unbuttoned exposing his chest/stomach. There are no signs anywhere that state a dress code and if he was asked by a bouncer he would have button his shirt, no problem. He has cancer and was just trying to have a good night, not trying to cause any harm. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS CLUB HAS NO PROBLEM WITH FEMALES WEARING BRAS AS SHIRTS OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PROVOCATIVE CLOTHING. Do better and be consistent. It's not okay to allow sexualization of women but men can't even unbutton their shirts??? Would love to hear your reasoning behind that. When confronting the bouncer he said this is a zero tolerance rule. stated where??? No where on either Howl at the Moon's website or Down's website states this. Nothing regarding this "rule" is in the FAQ section either. I would love a response, thanks!

Check your receipt...if you're drinking, they might charge you for more drinks than you ordered. Good music. Frozen cheap apps for "buffet". Fun crowd. Experienced waitresses who know how to take an order...but also know when you've had too much and when you say you'll pay for your friend's drink meanwhile someone else paid for your friend's drink and they Just Might Double Dip. My fault for not verifying things...just beware they be like that...

La Fabrica was the worst club experience place if you want to dance, I went on Halloween, they promote the event for $30 then when we get there they go up to $40 and say they made a mistake when they promote it. The lines to enter were very long and they let their friends and family pass without making any lines, we waited 2 hours, when we get in the place was over packed and we couldn't dance, we left immediately. The security was rude many times asking people if they had $40 dollars to get in.

I will never go back here and I encourage anyone reading this to take this to heart and not support this business. I was out with my family for my post bridal shower celebration. All in all we had a very fun time, BUT my sister when you order a couple drinks, they took her card and gave her her drinks. She asked if she could close out and asked for her card back. They said that she never gave them a card. She proceeded to show them the pending charge to her card. They said she was crazy. Other family members were right next to her and knew that they were in the wrong and saw all of this happening. As we started trying to get her card back, there was only 1 person out of the 15+ people behind the bar that was trying to tell us that he understood. As we continued to ask them to look everywhere, they called us insane and crazy. What wonderful terms to call intelligent women, right? They continues to say we were drunk. Yes, of course we were drunk. It was closing time on a Saturday night and we had a wonderful day. We were not trying to hide that we were drunk but apparently at a bar that is a shameful state to be in. As I have reviewed more and more reviews on this place, this is not the first time that someone's card was taken and not given back. Do not go here. By the way, we did not ever get her card back.

The music is always subpar but there is live music which is fine. The bar is set up nicely. They have a lot of events but I would suggest going with a large group of friends in order to make it worthwhile. It should be your last stop to finish off the night if you end up there. I just am always bored when I am dragged here. There are a lot of younger aged people who go there (recently 21 yr olds). It's one of the safest venues I've been to since there is so much open space to see and be seen.

We booked a table for our graduation in advance... the service was horrible! The drinks tasted like there was no alcohol in them. In addition the waitress was rude to us and demanded we tip her more in spite of our bad experience! The food was modest at best...We were force to tip the waitress more because she was basically harassing us! That is completely outrageous. In addition, the doorman was rude and racist to us! The worst experience ever..... they basically ruined a night that was supposed to be special for us! Never going back again!

This is a bar that features a live band that plays songs requested by the patrons. It's fun to think of your favorite party songs and be able to hear them live shortly thereafter. The band played such a wide range of hits and was very engaging with the crowd. Each band member rotated position to play multiple instruments. There were two pianos, guitars, and drums. The atmosphere was so lively with a lot of dancing taking place. Everyone seemed to be in such a great mood, including myself. The only issue for me was that it was difficult to have conversation because the music was loud. I was fortunate to be an invited guest at a Yelp Elite event at Howl at the Moon, so it was a great opportunity to experience this place. It was spacious with ceiling to floor windows and nice woodwork throughout. The bartenders and waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. They had an extensive cocktail and shot menu, which offered everything from the traditional cocktails to fruity drinks served in very tall glasses. The food was very good. I particularly enjoyed grilled shrimp skewers, stuffed mushrooms, and tomatoes stuffed with lobster. This is a great place to come with a bunch of friends to let loose and have fun or to celebrate an occasion such as a birthday. It's always great to hear live music and Howl at the Moon does a great job of entertaining their customers.

Such a great venue! I went for a really fun Yelp elite event where they had tall drinks, great appetizers, and a live band the whole time. It was so fun! The vibes are just so genuine, and the appetizers were SOO good. I highly recommend coming here if you want a night on the town with great food and drinks! Make sure to tip the bartender! They also have these hilarious Lisa frank cat drawings that my friends and I thought were funny and unique. If you're around FiDi, swing down to Howl at the Moon for a good time :)

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. The bottom floor is, to be blunt, a mess. It's a club with a $10 cover that doesn't really merit being charged. It's cramped, sticky, the music isn't good, the drinks are overpriced, and the dancing is lame. It feels college-y and sloppy, but not in the making-good-memories sort of way. I had to forcibly pry my extremely heavy boots off the floor because it was so sticky/nasty/disturbing. The top floor is better, but not by much. A local band was playing, and they were talented but a bit too generic for my (idiosyncratic) taste. The drinks remained expensive, and the crowd remained collegiate.

I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina And was visiting boyfriend in Boston. In Charlotte we have an awesome howl at the moon in which i, friends and family go to frequently. However My experience here has been absolutely terrible. Well sitting at the bar enjoying our time with friends around Alex kept putting the beer bottles down pretty hard on the bar so they were fizzing up, so we jokingly started taping our beer glasses the bartender "Alex " walks over and very rudely shuts us down and says "no I don't want to have to clean up after you".... umm first of all that's literally you're job? And secondly the way we were just spoken to was uncalled for and very disrespectful. There's a way you should speak to people and that wasn't it. After she said that my boyfriend was over it and said he didn't feel like staying somewhere that treats us like children. So I request to speak to the manager Brain, who was also just as rude and basically said "yeah, well that's not good bar etiquette" dude are you kidding me? You manage a howl at the moon where people literally come to get drunk and sing and dance to piano songs....This isn't the ritz. With this being the case I won't be returning to this location anymore.

I've been to Howl a bunch of different times and I always have a great time. Pro tip: try to get there early (around 8:30) so I don't have to wait in line and can get drinks quicker, and then head over to the dance floor! Drinks are fun, as are the apps! The buckets are def a good picture opportunity which I always appreciate! The music is so much fun, and I'm always impressed by the stamina of each of the band members, they are so extremely talented! I see a lot of bad reviews that are focused on not getting drinks quickly and lines and stuff like that, but when you go to a fun spot like this there are going to be crowds so I think that's a silly thing to complain about....just get there a little earlier. I've always had a great experience with the bartenders and service in general! Great spot for a birthday party as well, you can rent tables in advance!

Welp this would not be my top choice for fun in Boston, but I've been here several times and it'll do in a pinch if you don't mind waiting. On Friday / Saturday nights this place gets packed and the line snakes around the block. I've had the misfortune of going to a birthday event for a friend and getting to the line past 9PM in the bitter January cold. I've also won one of those Happy Hour parties, which as some other reviewers have described is a shameless way for them to fill downtimes. They allow multiple groups to have happy hour parties so you just have to know someone's name to gain access to the limited half priced drinks and the free buffet. The "Host" of the happy hour gets a "free gift" which is basically a Howl coozie, bumper sticker and a rubber wrist band so don't get too excited. One of my friend's had her bachelorette party here along with at least 6 other brides to be that Saturday night. We all had fun and they had a fun photo booth animator off in the corner. The main selling point of this place are the dueling pianos and the live music. They have talented musicians who take requests and cover popular songs. I suppose they have the bowls for you to "bribe" them with your requests as none of the songs in our bachelorette party were selected. Oh well! The drinks overall are alright, but nothing special, same with the food. My friends and I shared a pizza from the kitchen on a much quieter weeknight. We had a talented woman covering popular songs and serenading us in the background. That was definitely more my scene compared to dancing on a sticky floor avoiding drunk sweaty bodies / random guys looking to get lucky.

This place is always hopping, like packed w/ people on the weekends. I never realized this was actually a chain which I don't really care for but eh, what can you do. They have so many specialty cocktails to choose from that are super tasty & they come in a mini fishbowl/bucket or large size, so yeah get ready to drink w/ your pals. This is definitely a younger crowd so expect the floor to be sticky & to wait for cocktails at the bar. Thankfully we didn't have to wait but did have to find the right spot to get served. Them having live music definitely adds something to the typical places around the city. These musicians play anything you request & do a damn good job at it too so make sure you tip them as they deserve it. They change up the singing & instruments they play which is talent right there. You will get the folks that will dance in front of the stage as well as those who get up on stage & dance. Amusing nonetheless. So you might as well partake in the festivities. Make sure you plan accordingly as if you get there after a certain time the line literally goes down the block, I couldn't believe how long it was when we left which was like 11pm or so. They only allow a certain amount of people in & they have the machine that scans your drivers license too.

My first and last time going to Howl at the Moon included discounted drinks and a buffet. The discounts were ok and the buffet was enough food to make a whole meal out of. However, their averageness could not save the most awful service I have ever received. While waiting to order, the bartenders literally stood there on their phones chatting with one another. I shouldn't even say chat, more so had a fifteen-minute conversation. This happened several times. I am not going to wait forty minutes for a drink while Becky shows photos on her Iphone to all her fellow bartenders. For four people behind the bar you would think one would be working? Nope. If management actually reads this just note that your staff LITERALLY DOES NOTHING.

Very fun bar with typically a nice crowd! The drinks are priced great as well and the live bands have been really really good lately. A perfect spot to spend an evening!

About 5 years ago I frequented this place quite often. I went back tonight, and was severely unimpressed. 1. I called ahead to ask when the cover started. They told me "9pm or a little bit after." I showed up at 7pm, AND WAS CHARGED A COVER. When I told the girl "I called and the guy said 9pm" she shrugged, rolled her eyes.... then impatiently slammed the stamp on my hand. Not a pleasant person. Get some customer service skills or a different job. 2. To top it off, the coat check didn't open for another hour after that??? 3. The food (nachos) was disgusting and the pizza tasted like frozen pizza.... not like DiGiorno or other actually good frozen pizza. 4. I hate to say this, and I don't want to sound rude or harsh but the musicians were awful. My fiancé plays the bass and I sing and we were just extremely off-put by how bad it was. It isn't like we remembered when we used to come and we loved the music. This time it was flat and off-tempo. One of the singer's mic's sounded heinous and the drummer was so bad I was crawling out of my skin by the time we left. My fiancé is in a cover band and to see their shows costs $5 starting at 9pm, not $10 at 7pm! 5. It's worth mentioning that the bouncers here are incredibly rude and on a power trip. I feel like this isn't that uncommon for someone in that job, but it's exceptionally worse here than most other bars I have been to. 6. My feet were sticking to the bathroom floors they were so dirty! This was at 7pm!!! We aren't talking the end of the night here, I mean.... they open at 5pm. So, did they just not clean?!?! 7. This place is NOTORIOUS for keeping the line long to hype it up, even in negative temperatures. Trust me, it's not worth it. Find a better place to go. 8. The club in the basement: SKETCHY. Due to all of this I lasted maybe 2 hours here, and that was only because it was my friend's birthday and I didn't want to leave right when we got there and be a jerk. Thank god for the televisions which caused a welcome distraction from the awful music and rude staff interactions I experienced tonight. I think I will close the chapter on Howl At The Moon. It's a shame my final memory here had to be so negative.

Pricey calls and small servings but good taste. Mix between club and casual bar with live music, a dance floor, and square bar seating. Overall good vibes.

The musicians are fun and incredibly talented. They all seem to play multiple instruments, and somehow have every song memorized. They took several of our requests, and were impressive in every sense. We attended Howl at the Moon for my friend's 31st birthday, and had arranged in advance for a package that included two "buckets" (purchasing these buckets was required to revere the table, but they're mix-based, sweet, and not really drinkable) and a table. Having to arrive before 8 pm to secure our table meant that we were able to see a good side of Howl at the Moon -- one that was filled with a respectful crowd, enjoying the entertainment and having a good time. The rest of the review is going to make me sound really old, so maybe I am...or maybe I just enjoy having a good time and a few drinks with people who know how to behave in public. My college days are behind me; if yours aren't, this should be perfect for you. By 10pm, the bar felt like a club for underage college students. Apparently, Howl at the Moon has a separate club downstairs (and upstairs piano bar patrons are forced to use their sticky-floored bathrooms, complete with a bathroom attendant), but by later in the night, I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between the two establishments. Some of these young patrons were literally running laps around the bar,climbing onto the stage and dancing, and spilling their drinks everywhere. Patrons eventually "pressed" into our table and space as they were attempting to find room for themselves on the fully-crowded dance floor. Only once did I see a "bouncer" make any moves to stop a patron from this behavior. I thought Howl at the Moon would be a fun, kind of touristy, perhaps even a bit corny, low-key night out with friends. I expected somewhat of an older crowd. We still had a good time listening to the musicians, but I wouldn't return, as it's definitely not my kind of crowd.

The live music was good but the waitress did say something that irked me. She told me and my friends that we are not allowed to buy drinks if we sit at a table. She said that's the only way she makes her money. She said she told us that when we sat at the table. I loved the gentleman that worked last night he was excellent. He was working hard and very helpful with every question I asked about Happy Hour. The drinks were good and the food.

Rude bouncers! i was dancing and my knee cap dislocated and also had 4 ligament tears. the bouncers threatened to call the police cause i was causing a scene, i was litterly yelping in pain. he told me to get up and leave and im like dude my knee is not working right now give me a minute he started yelling at me then 3 other bouncers came over and yelled as well my friends litterly had to carry me up the stairs and into a uber and to a emergency room. lets just say i wont be going back

I wasn't crazy about this place, although it could probably be fun if you catch it at the right time. I thought the crowd was really young and the big bucket drinks they're famous for just tasted like pure sugar. I'd give it another chance if I had a big group of friends going one night.

Great venue for the young and wild at heart. This would definitely not be a place my parents would come to hang out. I think the crowd is 35 and under. When I was in college, we came here a lot. Good music.

Will update this since I now know they read their reviews and I had a much better experience last night. The music doesn't start until 6 so if you go there for a happy hour, arrive before then if you want to have a conversation. The drink specials during happy hour are awesome, I had a rum punch, a dirty shirley, and a margarita last night for $5 each. I also tried my friend's $5 pizza (also a happy hour special) and it was very tasty.

My first negative review: worst bar ever, obscene customer service, quick somebody call Howl at the Moon corporate. I'd been here once before many months ago and the place was packed- super fun and upbeat. This was not the Case this time around and my experience today showed cause of that. First let's start with cleanliness. My GF was dancing in ballet flats and the floor was so sticky her ballet flats came off more than once. #basicproblems At one point someone actually started mopping the floor while we were still on it. What, no caution wet floors sign to shoo us off with? Upon our first request the piano player over the microphone said with a noticeable lack of charitable assumption. "We don't do musicals- only stuff from the radio". I felt it was a bit intense to say it so condescendingly over the loud speakers. But there's a ton of songs- we understand limits and parameters. Fine- but after our next request (Queen) he crumpled it up and threw it over the piano. So unnecessary. He did play a queen song, but not what we requested. After a while of having the dance floor to ourselves, we went to the bathroom we left our 1/2 finished drinks on the table with our jackets near our friends. When we came back they had been cleared. I told the bartender what happened and she said "where were you sitting? yeah they probably cleared it because nobody was sitting there. And we're closing" it was an hour to close, but My qualm here is...there's 3 bartenders, 3 musicians, a busser at least 1 more person and probably 8 patrons total. Is there any reason you wouldn't be able to keep tabs on 1-2 people in a bar- all our stuff was still there including our jackets and takeout. I asked for 1 beverage to replace it that we could share since we had already drank some- she gave us 2 which was good, but without the lime and I didn't get the vibe it was an accident. She just put them on the counter and without saying another word and walked away. I would rather have real acknowledgement than something for free. And ah the bathrooms- so gross. A bathroom attendant straight chilling while there is a clogged toilet, tp on the floor and 2 abandoned drinks in the stall I was in. Classic. To top it off when the lights came on at closing the performers said "you don't Have to go home but you can't stay here" and within 30 seconds someone came to ask us to FINISH OUR DRINKS IN THE CORNER. What the actual fuck. I work in restaurant management and if any one of my staff behaved with such oppositional and inhospitable actions they would already be on an improvement plan or out the door. It's clear the toxicity of this work environment has snuck into the spirits of this team and that must run deep. I hope they're able to restore it to its former glory but until that day comes- steer clear and save yourself the degradation.

Had my bachelorette party at Howl at the Moon this past weekend and it was fantastic. The love music was great and the atmosphere fun. Kathleen was our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly. She came over several times during the night to ask if I needed anything and made sure all of the guests were taken care of. Definitely some of the best service I've had in a while!
