Hoy Lechon - Asian Inspired BBQ

Absolutely incredible food, and even better service!!! The owner Wendell is one of the nicest people you will ever meet!!!! We got a few different dishes and completely devoured them. My sister and I both agreed this was some of the best food we have ever had EVER! We have never had chicken cooked so perfectly. As I’m writing this, I’m getting hungry for it all over again! If you’re on your way down south make sure you hit this spot. If you’re not going down south, go down south anyways for this!!!!

My wife and I were blown away by the food. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The Lumpia was killer! The pork ribs were so tender and fell off the bones nice and easy. The rice... Just the rice alone is 5 stars. We both got the noodles as one of the sides, holy crap they were so good.

Have been wanting to stop and get some real authentic Filipino food from them for a while now but never seemed to get there in time and this time we finally did!! I messaged him through FB messenger and told him what we were wanting and he had it ready for us when we arrived! Very friendly people and the food was outstanding! We had pork belly, chicken sisig and lumpia. All so tasty! Whether you're a local or a visitor coming on or off the island, stop by and get some!!

I have stopped in to Hoy Lechon in Rodanthe on multiple occasions individually to grab the best BBQ plate on the island, and as a business owner for large catering orders. If you’re looking for an outstanding array of Filipino food, Wendell has you covered! The best food in the Outer Banks!

Absolutely Amazing we got the whole chicken with a rub seasoning and it is the Best Grilled Chicken we have ever tasted!We were vacationing in Rodanthe NC. And did not realize this place was there until our last day!!!!😩Had I known it was this good I would’ve stocked up to bring some home!!!!!! Can’t wait to go back or be able to buy the rub when it becomes available! Jill

Food is really awesome!!!! Tasty and savory the lechon, BBQ Ribs (my favorite) , skewers, all meals comes with a side of rice and noodles or macaroni, and with all that they also have creamy flan dessert Highly recommended!!!

If you've never been here, you NEED to! After months of only driving by on Sundays or being in a hurry to get where I was going, I'd FINALLY gotten a chance to stop by and grab some of this amazing smelling food. My daughter and I got the chicken skewers, noodles, beef ribs, pork ribs, and spring rolls. Being a picky eater, I was worried I'd just bought all of this food and my daughter would not eat much.. It took a slight bit of time for the food to cook, but considering they cook it on a grill right there, made to order.. the timing is nothing! The couple that run this place are so sweet and such down to earth people, they make waiting seem like no time! Good conversation all the way around. Once the food was done, it was time for my baby and me to eat up.. let me tell you, this picky eating child ate a bit of everything and enjoyed it all! There was one moment where I thought she was going to bury me alive because I had the nerve to take a bite of her noodles! Lol We've passed by here when they're closed, and she gets mad at ME for it! Came back today and they remembered us. Ordered spring rolls, chicken skewers, and some stuff I can't pronounce and they've done it again! Such good food from some pretty cool people. I'd give 100 stars if I could. Excellent food, excellent service, and for the quality of the meals their prices are on point too. Do yourself a favor on this one and check this place out!!

Amazing high quality and authentic pinoy food. Got the cebuchon (crispy pork belly) with garlic rice and it was cooked perfectly. My family also got the ribs and chicken. Friendly and fast take away food, definitely recommend this as a key park of your OBX experience.

The most delicious meal I've had in a long time. The owner was kind, warm and knows his way around pork. Safe to say, I've found my go-to lunch spot every time I'm in the area. Direct quotes from lunch: "If I only had $40 and 5 hours to live, I'd drive back down here and eat here." "I want to kiss that man on the forehead for this pork."

We came here today for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised (although we had pretty high expectations anyway). At the recommendation of a guy we met when arriving, I ordered the Cebuchon dish. He did explain that they were out of noodles and we would have to settle for a side of rice and stir fried vegetables instead -- lemme tell you, the stir fried vegetables did not disappoint, and were one of the highlights of the meal. My gf ordered the Pinoy Kebabs (Chicken) and we split an order of the Lumpiang (Spring rolls with ground pork). The food was ready quickly and we hopped down on a curb to eat -- the guy we first met later told us we should have asked him for seating since apparently we could have eaten in the AC-laden convenience store next door. Oh well. The Cebuchon was so good. Very flavorful and super crispy, reminded me a little bit of double deep fried Korean chicken wings (Bonchon). The chicken Kebabs were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. The spring rolls remind me more of a Vietnamese crispy roll (I typically find egg rolls and spring rolls to be mostly flavorless), super flavorful and so delicious. We are here for a few more days and will probably return hungry to try a couple more of the dishes.

This food truck was awesome, and the only Filipino spot in Outer Banks! Great location in between Nags Head and Hatteras. Stop here for lunch when visiting southern OBX. The lumpia and pancit were so good and authentic. The owner was the best and so personable, and our food was out very quickly. Great service and great food!

We stopped here on vacation last year on a whim and made it a point to eat here again this year. Meat is tender, so flavorful and fall off the bone kind of good. All the sides are delicious as well. An absolute must try for sure!

We couldn't find them! We're looking forward to trying out their dishes during our visit to OBX. Wish they were an actual resto though rather than a foodtruck. Oh well, not meant to be.

Amazing food! Be sure to check out their Facebook page so not to miss them or their hours which change through seasons. My family called in an order in case there would be a wait time, but they quoted us only 10 minutes. The guys LOVED the Muu Yang Pork Spareribs and I really enjoyed the kebab skewers. Lumpia was great, as was the pancit noodle side (loved the big crunchy vegetables in it!!). The garlic fried rice?! That was the star. Incredible. Will always look them up when we are back in the area.

Amazing food. Can't believe there is not more reviews. If you are staying in or around Rodanthe you have to give this a try. Good portions for the price. Ate here last yr when we were down and been craving it since we left. Just got my fix again. It's a must.
