I ordered the Cowboy rib eye. 70 dollar steak. I had it here before and it was tasty and made just the way I like it. This time not so much. Even though I got the steak medium rare, it was extremely tough and dry. I put half a bottle of A-1 on it and still couldn’t eat it. Picture looks amazing but it was a dry as an old shoe. The waitress was the best and gave her a big tip even though the steak was bad.

I’ve eaten breakfast here mostly, but had dinner here for the first time, and Wow! It was sooo, so good. It was very busy (it was Cruise Night in town) but the hostess accommodated us so sweetly, and our server (wish I had gotten her name) was absolutely on it. She knew the menu well, she suggested specials and was able to communicate in only a way sometime who knows what they’re doing, does. Lol if that makes sense. Anyhow, I had the Trout Almondine and my sister had the Chicken Fried Steak. We shared the Caesar salad and yes, you can have anchovies added if you want to!!! YUM!!! Who does that anymore? 🥰🥰 Can’t wait to go back!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
A hidden gem in Santa Paula. I was recommended this amazing spot buy a local friend. The location is sort of hidden in an industrial park. I came here for lunch and the menu was robust to say the least. In addition there was also a variety of daily specials. I opted for the Turkey club with onion rings with a side salad. But the decision was not an easy one. The portions were large and everything tasted great. The onion rings were perfectly crisp with amazing flavor. The sandwich was equally delicious. And the side salad was actually made with quality spring mix instead of the standard iceberg lettuce. Overall a fantastic local spot serving up some quality food. The service was great!

Google
I used to print their menus for years but never ate there until my boss took the crew this week. He's been hyping it for a couple years now. I was not let down. Great atmosphere and friendly attentive service to start. I got the same dish as my boss, huevos rancheros with chill verde. The eggs were perfect, the tortilla was crunchy, the potatoes were crispy, and the pork was tender. Highly recommend!

Google
The service was horrible! It took forever to get drinks, refills, coffee creamer & we had to get sugar from an empty table nearby. The server never brought the sugar. The server asked if we needed refills, but then never brought them. We sat outside in the patio area which was okay, but they forget about checking on the tables out there. The waitress checked on our table once. We had to ask for our order to be taken and for the check when we were finished. We’ve been going to Hozy’s for 20+ years, it’s been a bit since we have been there. The food was good, but definitely not the service I remember!

Google
First time here. Absolutely the BEST Green chili I've ever had in the 63 years my soul has been on this planet. No joke this place rocks! Thanks to the chef and staff for the wonderful service and incredible food.

Google
I came with my family and we ordered the special of the day (croissant sandwich) you can choose between chicken and tuna, they look the same, we ordered 2 tuna 1 chicken. When they came the 3 tasted like tuna so I asked for a change while my grandmas were eating, the server understood and was very kind but she came later and wanted to took the plates because the chef wanted to see them all because he was sure he made one chicken. First that is antigenic, and they aren't supposed to bring back food if it's already touched and if people are already eating and he was very rude with our server. That's how he treats his team and the costumers? The server was very kind and embarrassed of the chefs actions, she gave us a discount and apologize for the inconvenience.

Google
I was there for a baby shower. Lovely little brunch setup on their patio. Food was fine. But the vibe was great for that type of event. Drove up from LA for my cousins baby shower.

Yelp
This is out go to breakfast spot. Never been disappointed by the food...go to items are the chilaquiles, pancakes (love their butter which has walnuts) and huevos rancheros with chile verde. The chile verde can have a little bit of a kick, but meat is cooked perfectly!

Yelp
Food was pretty good. They have upgraded the inside and outside areas. Unfortunately I got a bit sick after eating the chx. Fried steak breakfast. But it was tasty. Have eaten here before and never got sick so maybe it was an anomaly. Hozys is cool though!

Yelp
I think the portions are big. I forgot to take pictures of the food. Went for breakfast. Ordered the veggie omelet with hash browns and sour dough. Sat at the bar and the food tasted fresh. Was better than average. The jelly(peaches in cinnamon) was very good and original. The servers were attentive and explanatory. Nice and quick experience. And pleasant environment. Food/left overs don't seem to travel well. I would suggest eating it all there. Might be worth a try. :)

Yelp
On December 18,2024 my wife and I decided to have breakfast at the Hozy's Grill located in Santa Paula. This is a quaint little restaurant with excellent food and service. Our waitress Perla really made us feel at home, and was delightful to just relax and chit chat. I had a Belgium Supreme waffle and a hot flavorful coffee. My wife had bacon ,French toast , and Coffee. Best breakfast ever! We're definitely going back for lunch next time. The food was delicious with generous portions. This was a huge hit with us. Try it! Delicious!

Yelp
My wife and I love breakfast at Hozy's and make the 40 minute drive at least half dozen times a year. The last few visits resulted in a near perfect experience- unfortunately not today. One thing that really irks me is when a party (in this case an elderly couple) comes in at least 5 minutes after you and they get their menu, drinks and food before you. It obviously shows that the hosts/servers are not paying attention. Well that's what happened today, and we were only a party of 3. To make matters worse, it apparently was 3/4 day in the kitchen. The pancakes were 3/4 their normal size, the omelette was 3/4 its normal size and the serving of home fries was not just 3/4 its normal size but it was served cold. Not a good day at Hozy's. We'll go back at some time down the road since my wife idolizes Hozy's, but she'll have to do a pretty good job of twisting my arm.

Troy B.

Yelp
My Wife and I have been coming to Hozy's since it was first opened in Ventura. We have always enjoyed the food and the servers. Recently though, things have been off. The last three times we went for weekend breakfast the service has been bad and the food was not what it used to be. The food has come out cold, or sat on under heat lamps too long. They almost always forget to bring the toast with breakfast, and when asked, the response was, "You will be OK" It is a shame, but we probably won't be back. We really used to love this place. There are restaurants that want to bring good food and at least try to give good service.

Yelp
The service here is outstanding. The food, which changes often, is yummy. Its located in and out of the way business area. Don't miss this amazing restaurant.

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner with wonderful service. Totally awesome crowd, definitely come and enjoy.

Yelp
We've been meaning to go for a long time. We finally had a morning free and my dad said let's go. It was a little tricky to find. I'm told there are signs, didn't see any. But navigation to the rescue! It's behind some business buildings. Parking is great. The patio outside looks beautiful. When we first walked in we were immediately greeted. And a few others checked in as they cleaned off our table. The menu looks great. My husband and I were torn between a few things. I ended up going with the huevos rancheros with chili verde. My dad got a bacon and cheese omelette. My kids got pancakes (double stack) and cheeseburger. My husband got the ARP. All things came out like 10 minutes after we ordered. The food was delicious! My old comment is I wish the potatoes were a little more crispy. But they are made with onions and I love that combo! Next time I'm getting the chicken fried steak, it's made with a filet mignon! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Delicious chicken fried steak. The gravy was perfect. Chunky mash potatoes, and steamed vegetables. The steak was so tender, I almost didn't need a knife to cut it. Based on this one meal, I'm going to assume that their whole menu is pretty good. The restaurant was very clean, service was good. Parking right in the front.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to eat. Great breakfast, luch, and dinner. Service is fantastic, always treated like family.

Yelp
Okay, the food is good, consistent and big portions. Service was alright...Vibe was off though. Some of the customers just kept starring at us. Have you guys ever seen a diverse family or a family that is blended? But once those customers left, the vibe got better. The set up is kinda odd too, it looks bigger from the outside but its small but spacey, if that makes sense. Not sure if the vibes were off since it was Easter Sunday but you think it would be all happy and cheery since its a holiday. Anywho, lets get to the food!! Lets just get to the food and service: Food was good, I went with the ham and cheese omelet and added mushrooms. The potatoes were fire and so was the omelet. Hubby went with the huevos ranchers and his plate whole plate was delicious, I really liked the beans. Our sons went a cheeseburger and breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito is huge and he could only eat half of it. The cheeseburger looked really good too but it took longer to be served so we had to wait a good 5-7 minutes to eat our food since we all wanted to eat together. The services was alright, maybe the staff was just over it and wanted to go home and enjoy their Sunday. We might go back, if anything, I'd like to try their dinner menu and see how the vibes are then.

Yelp
Great breakfast at this quality little hideout. Care was put into the ingredients, the preparation and the service. There's a farm nearby so there were flies inside which I didn't care for but the homemade peach cinnamon jam more than made up for it.

Laura R.

Yelp
Food was great, but we were asked to leave our take after we had been there only one hour. We were still eating and having desert and ordering drinks. We love this restaurant and this was the first time this has ever happened. I was shocked and we were told others were waiting to be seated, while others had obviously been there longer than us. I was very disappointed.

Yelp
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner, my friends birthday. I had a personally engraved whiskey glass and asked the waitress to take it to bartender (before my friend arrived) so her drink would be served in it. She was so delighted and the staff had fun with it too. My 3 filet steaks were perfectly cooked, and salads potatoes veggies. That was a few months ago, I'm craving Hosy's all the time. Would like to go back and sit out on the pretty patio.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! A bit expensive, but worth it. I had the Chicken Parmesan. Very generous portion (took half home, and it was just as good the next day). Service was great & the heated patio table across from the fountain was a perfect place to enjoy a nice meal with a friend.

Yelp
Food is amazing and changes weekly. I would have given this a 5 star rating but the staff is not the most professional. My waitress was on top of it but management kept gossiping about other staff members and customers. There was a regular sitting at the bar sharing food with the staff by hand feeding them. That was really weird. I would recommend this place just know that you're walking into an episode of 90210 complete with guys hanging out in the kitchen drinking.

Ron H.

Yelp
We went to Hozy's for the first time on December 6th, 2024, which was for my birthday. The service was so poor we could not believe it. Our server was Elizabeth S. She took forever to take our order. Once our food arrived, she was so busy talking to a different table that apparently were friends of hers she basically ignored us. Never coming back to see if we needed anything else. After we were done eating our mashed potatoes finally arrived iced cold. Then she asked if we wanted desert and before we could say yes or no she went back to chatting with her friends. The food that was hot tasted pretty good. The service left a bad taste in our mouth. Bad service and no dessert made for a bad birthday. Will my family of 6 be going back? I don't think so ever!

Yelp
Off the main drag in an industrial area this unexpected diner knocks it out of the park. Well crafted traditional fair at a high level of food craft

Yelp
Great place! Everyone's very friendly and the food is amazing. This is a hidden gem in Santa Paula.

Yelp
Hidden Gem! On fire deluxe dinner in a super surprising casual setting. Love the back story on this establishment, we have enjoyed both breakfast and dinner service and loved everything.

Yelp
Santa Paula is one of my favorite small towns in California... and a very easy place to find good food. Hozy's is definitely one of them. A bit off the beaten track but easy to find (especially using google maps and asking for directions). Given that it is about a 1-hour drive I always want my blushing bride to have a good time and a great meal. We were not disappointed. Hozy's is clean, friendly, has a great menu, and completely lives up to the promise of good food. Service was friendly, professional and attentive. We ordered breakfast: coffee, mushroom omelette, and their world-renowned chile verde omelette. Fantastic food! The chile verde was spicy but not too much... just right. Both of the breakfast potatoes, hash browns and home fires, were perfectly cooked and, clearly, using clean oil. Yummy! Much to my blushing bride's surprise, the jam with her toast was peach jam... possibly house-made. That made her day. One of the things that really made my day was how each employee was paying attention and ensuring that we were taken care of. I really likes that. Since it was a long ride there, and a long ride back we conducted impromptu bathroom inspections. WOW... well maintained, well appointed, well supplied and exceedingly clean.

Yelp
Hidden gem restaurant in Santa Paula. If you are coming on the weekend. Reservation is suggested. They have their new menu every week so please check their menu online. They have big selection of wines if you are a wine drinker here is the place for you. Food is delicious and the cocktail also perfect not too sweet. Price range are a bit pricey but worth it! Service is good as well.

Yelp
What an absolute gem of a restaurant this place is! Completely surpassed my expectations! They have such a lovely patio with white table cloths, cloth napkins, and a waterfall fountain. The sandwiches we had at their Sunday brunch were absolutely delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. The portions were substantial and felt acceptable for the price. We had a lovely waitress who was attentive and overall just had a really nice meal. Their dinner menu looks nice - I would love to come back and eat on the patio for dinner under the string lights. The chicken salad sandwich was so good, as was the prime rib sandwich!
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
One of our all time favs! This place never disappoints! From breakfast to dinner they are 5 stars. If you get a chance try their fried chicken...to die for!
google avatar

Yelp
ARP has a restaurant? Way cool and the food is awesome. Will be back for sure, also has lots of retro car stuff.
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
The owners of this restaurant manufacture automobile fasteners and the restaurant used to only be for employees until they opened to the public. And thankfully they did because it's by far the best restaurant in Santa Paula. I got a breakfast burrito here and it was huge and delicious. My wife ordered a tuna sandwich and she enjoyed it. The service was also excellent despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon!

Yelp
I really want to like this restaurant - I've never had the greatest experiences here but I decided to try again with some friends. I love the location and the patio area was beautiful at night. The issues were with the service and the restaurant being out of the two items we came there to eat. We ordered some drinks that took a long time to reach the table and when the drinks did arrive my girlfriends martini was brought out in a tumbler, the waiter said they were out of martini glasses...ok, could you have at least filled the glass up? NOPE...not even half full. She didn't care for the cocktail and requested a lemon-drop that came out in a martini glass we asked if the halibut was gluten free and the waiter went and asked...he came back and said it's not...no problem my girlfriend will order something else. After another 10 minutes we finally got our order taken, it was then that we were told they were out of the halibut we had asked about as well is the veal that my friend wanted - we came for these two items...after we figured out the alternatives we got bread & butter put on the table...45 minutes after arriving. The food was good and the drinks were good it was the way the staff handled it that needed help...the waiter was kind and polite and did compensate us with a free dessert. I feel the manager could have come to our table and apologized or even thanked us. Over all not horrible just needed a few tweaks to make it a better experience. Hopefully this helps in some way. I really.

Yelp
Service was great, ambiance was good, and the food was delicious! Although I didn't try their Bloody Mary, it looked delicious. I plan on trying it next time.

Yelp
DELICIOUS FOOD FARE IN SANTA PAULA! Our go to spot in Santa Paula was closed for the 2021 holidays, too bad yelp didn't get the memo lol. We are in Santa Paula, So what now!?!?! Let's yelp a Plan B then... there's limited options for late breakfast sadly, in the area. Sure didn't drive ALL the way out here for McDonalds! LOL! Hold up... look at this! Hozy's rocks 4.5 yelp stars, with brekkie pics in the script... WINNER! Yelp directions are on point. Actually not in the main area of SP, it's more off the 126fwy in an area surrounded by industrial buildings. Odd but big street sign helps identify its location. There's parking on the street and a parking area by the restaurant too. Friendly greeting upon entering. All employees were adhering to COVID-19 mask mandates... thank you! Unfortunately, breakfast menu ended at 11:00am, so brunch/lunch for us then. Ordering done, let's eat! CHICKEN FRIED STEAK: OH YEAH! This has gotta be ONE OF THE BEST places for chicken fried steak in the VC! Why did it take SO LONG for me to find this???? They use a filet mignon cut (no one else in the VC does this!) pounded out, pretty good size too. After the deep fry, the breading had a nice crunch to it, not salty at all. And that sausage gravy?!? DELISH! Well crafted entrée. Too bad they ran out of mash potatoes, had to settle for French Fries and grilled veggies. But in no way did fries detract from nom nom the steak was! SO GOOD! GRILLED CHEESE SAMMIE: Standard stuff for a grilled cheese, but that's what the munchkin hopes for. Irks him when eateries tweak a good thing lol. White toast buttered & grill, cheese was melted but not ooey gooey. Not impressive in size, seems good enough for the pre-adolescent or light eaters. Ample serving of crisp fries kind of overwhelmed the plate, but that was just he wanted it. Munch was a Happy camper ;) TUNA SALAD SANDWICH: BIG dollops of tuna salad for each half of sammie. Not too runny, thankfully, yet tasty and filling. Wifey was quite content. SHRIMP TEMPURA: I am not sure why this caught the eye of The Big Boy, but he was sure happy it was on the menu for lunch. 6-7 large plump Shrimp pieces tastefully deep fried. Ample serving of fries here too. Gone in minutes... I guess he liked it lol VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Delicious food and attentive staff, make it a worthwhile trip to the Santa Paula area! See you there ;)

Yelp
Yummy food and fast service. Great menu selection. There is plenty of parking but not a ton of seating for how popular it seems to be. We didn't have trouble getting a table, but it did fill up pretty fast

Sheri S.

Yelp
I love Hozy's! The food is great as well as the service. Whenever we have out of town visitors we usually go to Hozy's at least once during their visit. I love the new garden area. It's beautiful! They have ample parking in their parking lot, but you can also park on the street. Sheri Sorby

Diana R.

Yelp
After years of enjoying Hozy's for breakfast, this is not the Hozy's I enjoyed before. What I experienced for breakfast today it was HORRIBLE and poor service. I ordered pancakes omg the texture was disgusting.

Sheldon Q.

Yelp
Great food and service no Ambiance in a industrial park always very very busy Have a nice outdoor patio that is great
google avatar

Kia C.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The food is amazing. The Filet Trio, Chile Verde Flatbread, and Chilean Sea Bass are great choices. Great cocktails. The staff are super welcoming and attentive. They have a beautiful outdoor patio that is enjoyable all throughout the day/night. Give it a try, I don't think you will be dissatisfied!

Steven T.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Santa Paula! Really good food and great service! Definitely will be back, great place for the family or even on a date with your significant other! The Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu are great with a variety of meals to choose. You can taste and feel the quality of the food. Hats off to the people in the kitchen and the rest of the employees and staff!

Yelp
This was our first time to this nice quaint place, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was nice, service was great and such a great menu, but want was impressive was the wine list. They had such an assortment to choose from and if wine is not your thing, their bar menu was stocked and they had special drinks. We were happy with our food, which consisted of mushroom ravioli, rack of lamb and a sole that was prepared perfectly. They also serve breakfast and what was on the menu sounded great and that will be our next adventure. I was happy the waitress was knowledgeable about gluten and made sure all were prepared to minimize contamination. We will definitely be back, but be aware it is a small place and reservations would be recommended.

Eduardo M.

Yelp
Quirky af! In a warehouse district but crowded by locals. Had brunch. Decor nothing to write home about; wine rack with $300-$700+ bottles on the right as you enter, but otherwise diner-quality furnishings and vibe. The outside patio is much prettier if you're there for the ambience. Food was unusually good. Deft hand in the kitchen.

Yelp
Great Food, Awesome Service! We arrived soon after they opened for dinner, and we were lucky to get in! Highly recommend calling to make a reservation. Our server, Liz, made excellent wine and food recommendations (and dessert!). Everything we ate was deliciously prepared, and we had absolutely no complaints about our evening at Hozys. It's hidden, but it's delicious!!

Yelp
My wife and I visited Hozy's for the first time a few months ago. We felt the food was really good, but a bit overpriced.
google avatar

Roger V.

Yelp
This was one of my top spots to go, unfortunately service was not great on my last visit. We got seated and placed our orders at 11:50, got our drinks and waited, my wife ordered coffee and looked on as a waitress passed with a coffee pot but did not ask if we wanted refills. After the second time we noticed them pass by us with no interaction, we stopped a waitress and asked for more coffee, she told us she would we be back, she never came back. Finally the food arrived at 12:35 normally I don't get frustrated with food taking a long time, but when I see people being served their food that came in way after us and being ignored by staff multiple times, it did not sit well with me. We told our server we wanted refills on the coffee, she told us that we should have spoke up and asked..... we did! it might be a while until I return for another try. We ordered 3 entres for reference. Hope it was an off day for the staff and not a new norm.

Daniel V.

Yelp
Lunch experience - 3/5. Was not as impressed as I was previously, as dinner was a 5/5. Dont know if its different staff for lunch or what but might only be coming back for dinner in the future.
google avatar

Arlene L.

Yelp
Can you please make better coffee!!! The last 4 times I have gone I get watered down coffee. I love this place the food is great but something is wrong with the coffee. It's so disappointing because I look forward to my cup of coffee when I go for breakfast. I've sent it back several times and it comes back the same. I'm not a coffee snob but I know when coffee isn't right. Hoping they look into it.
google avatar

Jacque F.

Yelp
Super cool vibe. Casual to dressy attire. I parked myself at the bar to avoid waiting on a table. Best decision ever! Was with a friend met up with Lori and separately John- everyone so friendly and insisting on sharing appetizers. Had a meet and greet with the Chef. Food was excellent wine selection great! Make the time to stop by. Sorry I did not get a pic of all the great appetizers-

Yelp
I really couldn't give a true rating ,called to order food couldn't even get through phone gave a weird pause then went to voice mail ? Any who website looked ok couldn't order anything so ended up ordering somewhere else because didn't want to drive over order then wait . But not sure if that was a option do to lack of communication
google avatar

Suzie B.

Yelp
Best food in Santa Paula, hidden gem! Prices are high but so is the quality, service is great. Pancakes are the best I've ever tasted , husband loves the French Dip. Worth a visit!

Kassie C.

Yelp
Used to be our go to place but they just don't really care what their customers want anymore. One waitress said she'd clean a booth for us to sit at, the other waitress said "we don't have any booths. You can sit at a table ". We came in at 11:03 and tried to order breakfast. They said no because they stopped serving it at 11:00. Then asked to substitute chicken for tritip in the burrito because I don't eat red meat. Again, nope, they can't do that (despite having numerous dishes that offered grilled chicken, chopped chicken, sliced chicken). They didn't want to even TRY to be accommodating. Very disappointing. My glowing review from the past just doesn't ring true anymore. Very sad, Hozy's.

Kristin B.

Yelp
Came here this morning to grab a bit to eat it wasn't rush hour. Dining room had people but they were all served Chef was looking for something to cook and I'm here at the bar waiting for the waiter that serving the diner to take my order while bar guy just stands there. After 5 mins I left.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Southern California - bar none! Their wine menu is huge! Their dinner menu is extensive and has so many great options. We stared with some great cocktails, then shared the short rib taquitos and the skinny onion rings. The onion rings were great but the short rib taquitos were unbelievable!! We shared a Caesar salad and I got the best clam chowder I've ever had. I ordered the John Dory, my wife orders the Stone crab claws, and our friend ordered the beef stroganoff. They do a phenomenal job, Kendall is a great waitress and Maria is a great hostess. We also had a piece of their chocolate cake for dessert. We need to come back here more often. If you're anywhere near Santa Paula, you need to come here.
