Yelp
Hsin Tung Yang Foods (新東陽) is a famous Taiwanese meat and sausage company. They currently have 46 retail store in Taiwan. According to the company's website they've been in business since 1967 starting out as selling BBQ pork out of a small shop near where the current Hsin Tung Yang's Wanhua store is located in Taipei. Whenever I am in Taiwan I always have to stop and get a box of their famous Pork Jerkey. As Ken K. said in his review...its too bad you can't bring it back to the US. Although last year my sister accidently brought back some in her suite case...sneaky! I have been eating their sachima cake treats since I can remember. Sachima are basically the Chinese version of rice crispy but made with flour and instead of vanilla and marshmallow its made with sugar and sesame seeds. The Taiwanese version is similar to the Cantonese version where it is slightly sweet. I've had sachima by other companies but no one can make them like Hsin Tung Yang. Their sachima is sticker and more moist....keeping your dentist in business for years to come.... They also make lots of other Taiwanese snacks such as peanut brittle and dried tofu snacks. I think their products tends to be superior over their competitors because I think they use better quality ingredients and they stick to tried and true products. This location in San Francisco was established in 1979 and is where Hsin Tung Yang's US jerky is made from. As others have pointed out it doesn't taste the same. Its sad but true. But it's still pretty good. 1347review 5/3/2018 267th for 2018

Yelp
Hsin Tung Yang Foods Co. has physical business headquarters located in South San Francisco, and is the US sales office of the parent company that originated in Taiwan US website: http://www.htyusa.com/ Taiwan site: http://www.hty.com.tw/ Hsin = New Tung = Eastern Yang = Sun (or in Chinese medical terms, the male organ...) The SSF office I visited one time and they don't really sell products, but do have a refrigerator of some of their offerings on display. However you can find a majority of their products online for purchase, as well as your friendly neigbhorhood A$N $upermarket, be it mom & pop, or big name chain like Marina, Lion, or 99. But buyer beware. Most of the HTY food products are mostly made in the USA. Nothing wrong with that, but they will not taste anywhere near as good as the equivalents of the HTY offerings that are made in Taiwan (especially PORK and BEEF related products, like jerky or preserved sausage....I guess a well represented male organ shaped object if you will). You will find a Hsin Tung Yang in TPE international airport (Zhong Zhen airport in Taoyuen County), although you'd have to be a real ass smuggla (or butt pirate) to get any meat products through the gates upon arrival in the US. So just stick with safe and ok products. For what it is worth, the HTY brand of their Plum Drink (Gwei Hua Suan Mei Tang) is half decent, even though it doesn't come close to the kind in Taiwan. About $2.20 at your A$N supermarket if they have it, brown bottle with Chinese and English characters. Ingredients: plum, dried hawthorne, dried orange peel, honey, sugarcane, spring water, liquorice, malic acid, osmanthus flavor This bottle however appears to be imported from Taiwan, rather than made in the USA.

Yelp
Review of Hsin Tung Yang Seasoned Minced Pork, 16OZ This product used to be my top choice of the Chinese traditional seasoned minced pork because it was never made with MSG (except that a small amount of MSG might exist in the soy sauce used in the making of the product), MSG is known as an allergy agent to many people. But something has happened in recent years that the minced pork is now mixed with shredded pork, and I often see a lot of gigantic chunks of pork in the container. I am guessing that the equipment at the manufacturing facilities has changed (degraded), and/or the manufacturing processing procedure has been altered or messed up, that the minced pork is no longer purely minced as described on its label. The truly minced pork is soft and easy to be taken by toddlers and the elderly whose teeth and gums are not as strong as the average adults. In additional to the quality issue, the price of the product has jumped by $5 to $10 (for a one-pound pork it is now sold between $20.99 to $25.99 or higher) at various stores in Southern California. It has always been expensive, but never to such extent before. I am giving the product a rating of 3 to warn the management of the company to put their acts together and produce the product matching its label 100%, and sell it at the most reasonable price they can.

Yelp
I love the chinese beef jerky (especially the fruit flavored) and the pork jerky. It's so tasty and good! It comes in that red box. The best part of it is that there is NO MSG unlike the other brands. I hate that most chinese food have MSG in it. I've also tried this vegetable broth and it's GREAT!!! You just use a spoon and the soup broth is salty enough. It taste really good. I use it for my noodles and soup.
