HUALUXE Haikou Seaview Hotel (Haikou, Hainan Island) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"China’s hotel scene is remarkable not just for its depth — Shanghai and Beijing’s hotels rank among the best in the world — but for its breadth as well, evident in the fact that a place like Haikou, the Hainanese capital, can support a 377-room luxury hotel of the Hualuxe Haikou Seaview’s caliber. Spectacular architecture, beautifully crafted accommodations, monumental public spaces — this place has it all, including a substantial spa, a surplus of event facilities, and multiple dining venues, from high-end Chinese gastronomy to Luxe Tea and the Sirius Bar, with its view of the city and the marina." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel boasts a good location and beautiful surroundings, complete with a lovely swimming pool and serene garden. The view is amazing and some of my friends were deeply impressed by the property. The check-in process was fast and easy. Ms. Sally from the front office served me exceptionally well: she assigned me a better room, checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect, and made sure I felt happy throughout my stay. Since this was my birthday trip, but I didn't mentioned anything, but she even surprised me with a thoughtful cheese birthday cake! Thank you, Ms. Sally, for going the extra mile with your service. It truly made my stay unforgettable!

Location was a little inconvenient as it is separated from the main haikou island by a bridge. There is a large mall nearby but most of the stuff there are over-priced. Facilities and amenities are excellent, especially their breakfast. I was using the gym and there was someone who kept sniffling while using the gym. The guy was clearly unwell as he had tissue on the machine as well yet no one bothered. There was a sign in the gym saying no food and drinks allowed but someone brought up a can drink and even opened it up to drink? I wonder why they even bothered putting a staff there for. Staff a little unfriendly. I was walking in front of two westerners, and their staff did not greet me when i walked pass him but instead greeted the westerners behind me upon seeing them. Throughout our stay most staff basically just walked past us without a nod or saying anything, like as if we were invisible. Although they said no smoking, when I entered one of the lifts, it stank of cigarette smell.

After Sanya, I headed to Haikou and stayed at the InterContinental Haikou Seaview. The hotel is located along the scenic Binhai Road, offering stunning views of the Qiongzhou Strait. The location was perfect, with easy access to a park connector and a mall. I loved taking evening strolls here; it was so peaceful and windy, which I enjoyed. Check-in was seamless, and the staff were professional and attentive. My room was spacious and modern, with a large window offering panoramic sea views. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the toilet made getting ready and unwinding for the day luxurious! Yes, they have a bidet in the bathroom. The only downside was the weak air conditioner, so we slept with the balcony open. I also wished they provided bath salts or bath bombs to enhance the bathtub experience.Overall, this was my favorite hotel in Haikou. It’s slightly away from the main attractions, but it’s perfect for relaxation, eating, and shopping. I would definitely stay here again!

We would have loved to give this hotel a 5 stars rating. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and centrally locates in a beautiful bay. Service staff is generally friendly and effective. We received recognition for our IHG Platinum membership with ocean view room upgrade and recognition during breakfast and dinners with preferred seating. However, on the second day of our stay, occurred a very serious incident -- we were being followed by the hotel security staff. Initially, we were just card checked. Card checked in itself, isn't an issue. What followed is serious. After we entered the elevator to go up to our room, a plain cloth security man in gray uniform rushed in to the elevator and started to stare at my wife and I with threatening look. He followed us briefly after we exited the elevator. When we took a elevator later down, the same employee was in the elevator, again, stared at us threateningly. Hotel employees generally avoid using the same elevator as guests if it's not some sort of emergency. So this is highly unusual. It appeared we had been watched and surveilled through security camara, and followed. I reported the incident to front desk and was told someone will call us, but didn't get to speak with anyone, till I raised the incident again during checkout the next day. As I entered the hotel, I immediately noticed something unusual, the hotel has no security guards in blue uniform, commonly seen in Chinese hotels. But it has too many bellmen all dressed in gray uniform, in the front and lobby area, and only a few actually help customers with luggage and open car doors. Some of the men, well built, just hang around and didn't do much. Among them is an older guy about 50 years old. The same older guy who card checked us, it appeared to me, is the head of security. and he was the one that ordered his security guy to surveil us. But why were we targeted? I don't quite know. One conjecture is that unlike Chinese guests who dressed to impress and carry high price looking handbags, my wife and I dressed casually (short and sandals). We are world travelers, and always carry and dress minimalist. As Chinese Americans, we look like the locals in appearance, yet don't quite look or dressed the same.

The hotel is very good, the housekeeper is very good, and he took the initiative to help us adjust the room. The hotel environment is also beautiful, and there are many delicious foods in Haikou Bay next to it. We spent a wonderful three days here.

As soon as I saw the news about the Lantern Festival fireworks and drone show, I booked a sea view room and I’m so glad I did! Even though we live in Haikou (Xiuying), I thought it would be nice to not have to brave the crowds after the show to get home. Our room was perfectly situated so that after dinner at The Happy Monk in HCC we came back and watched the show from the balcony. Our room was lovely and the staff at the hotel was so helpful. We really loved it.

During my recent stay at Haikou IC, I experienced a blend of impressive moments and areas for improvement. Let’s start with the positives. The breakfast offerings in the Executive Lounge were a true highlight—thoughtfully prepared with a variety of local and international dishes that stood out for their quality and flavor. The same can be said for the hotel’s brunch, which exceeded expectations with its vibrant selection and meticulous presentation. The turndown service was another memorable aspect, featuring charming local specialties that added a personal touch to the stay. However, not all aspects of the stay met the mark. Room upgrades seemed to be handled with unnecessary frugality, which left a less-than-pleasant impression, especially for frequent travelers accustomed to more flexible hospitality. Additionally, attention to detail in housekeeping, particularly with stray hairs, could use improvement to meet the standard expected of a property of this caliber. With a few adjustments, it has the potential to be a standout in its class.
