We've visited this breakfast spot five or six times over the years, and it hasn't let us down yet. It's a pretty popular place, especially on Sundays, so be ready for a bit of a wait. Our party of four had to wait around 25 minutes, which wasn't too bad considering the crowd. They have a nice waiting area where we ended up chatting with some other folks and even made a couple of new friends.
This time around, I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered a side of fried okra and a cup of water. I told our server, Alison, that I'm a thirsty guy, and she delivered with a big mason jar of water--perfect! My wife had a skillet scramble, but it was just okay. The texture was a little off, like maybe there weren't enough eggs, or they were spread too thin. One of our friends ordered the steak and eggs, and that came out great--nice and tender. All the hashbrowns were cooked perfectly across the board.
Our other guest was craving a traditional eggs Benedict (ham, egg, and hollandaise on an English muffin), but they don't have that exact version on the menu. They do offer several other types of Benedicts, but when she asked, Alison made sure the kitchen whipped up exactly what we wanted. That kind of service goes a long way.
Speaking of Alison, she was fantastic--laughing at my dad jokes and even coming back with a few of her own. It's always nice to have a server who can joke around and make you feel welcome. She wore a smile the whole time and really made the meal enjoyable.
Cleanliness is another big deal for me, and this place passes with flying colors. I tend to notice things most people might overlook, but I couldn't find anything to complain about here. Kudos to the staff and management for keeping the restaurant in great shape.
Overall, it's been a solid spot for us, and we'll definitely keep coming back.
