Don’t know how we missed this place for the 7 years we’ve been in the area but l can assure you we’ll make up for the lost time . Our server was super nice and friendly guided us through the menu and we were off and running. Best Catfish I’ve ever had hands down big fillets and big portions of fresh cut fries . Potato salad and garlic bacon slaw were great as well, not your ordinary coleslaw by any means. And I almost forgot the hush puppies ridiculously good,I could’ve eaten 50 of those and would’ve been happy with just that. I’m telling you if you haven’t been here Hucks is a must try, so good you’ll have to nap afterwards 😂

Honesty our waitress is amazing,the atmosphere and decor is nostalgic. We just love it here, they are local and have been here for 30 + years. You want great Catfish I suggest giving them a try.

Best Lunch of the Month! We were seriously craving catfish, so we headed over—and were immediately encouraged when we saw the parking lot completely full. To me, that’s always a good sign that the food is going to be great. What we didn’t expect was for everything to be fantastic! From the tangy green relish to the flavorful beans, and of course, the perfectly cooked catfish—we were blown away. We even ordered the catfish two different ways, and both were excellent. Big shoutout to the staff as well—super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. And for fellow veterans: they offer a military discount, which is a great touch. I absolutely love this place and will definitely be back!

Yummy food and amazing service. My waitress, Margaret, was so good and explained all the options for preparing my catfish as well as describing all the sides and "extras". Green tomato relish, onions and all you want hushpuppies were a pleasant surprise. So much food and I only had the 3/4 meal.😊 Love that you can get each filet done a different way. Enjoyed "burnt" and Cajon fried a lot.

Great place with a home atmosphere, great service, and tasty food! Their potato salad is probably one of the best ones I've had in a while. The catfish was great as well, but I'm looking forward to coming back for some fried okra.

My first time there and won’t be my last. Service was great and went the extra mile to get what we needed. Plenty of seating and liked the atmosphere. Got the catfish and has to be the best I have ever had. Had a baked potato and fried squash. We also got the kids grilled cheese with watermelon and grapes. The grilled cheese was so good my grandson ordered another one. Five stars!

I and my wife do not usually give reviews. However, Huck's deserves an enormous great review. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and just all around great. The food is really tasty. Portions are very generous in todays economy of raising prices and cutting portions to barely a decent meal. For those with gluten issues such as my wife. They offer the catfish batter with cornmeal and seasoning is ohhhh so good. The only negative is we do not live in the area. We wish Mable Fall TX had a Huck's like this one. We eat hear as often as we can when visiting family in Denison TX

I've bragged on this place more than once. If you like cat fish this is the place to go! I've never had a less than great piece of catfish & their sides too!

This restaurant has the best catfish that is so fresh and flaky, cooked perfectly. We had coleslaw and pinto beans with green tomato relish as our side. I could eat just a bowl of the pinto beans with the green tomato relish. They are delicious but then I would miss out on the fish. So maybe the best case scenario is one person order the beans and the other person order an extra slice of fish to share with me and my beans. We got a pecan cobbler to share, and it was delicious. Very similar to pecan pie. It was loaded with pecans and cobbler crust and gooey deliciousness. We took home an apricot and peach cobbler. How many people have apricot cobbler? The peach cobbler went to my house, and it was delicious with a lot of cinnamon. Our waitress was very attentive. We noticed that there were many waitresses, and that people were being well taken care of by all the staff. I can't wait to go again. The only problem is that it's an hour drive from my house. The restaurant has a concrete floor so it can get a little loud in there. But everyone is friendly because you're in a small town. I love small town charm!

Good to get back. We don't often make a 51 mile one-way trip just for catfish but it was worth it again. Ashley was our waitress and she did a great job for us and other tables. Very popular for weekday lunch hr with several family groups and co-workers on lunch break. We got 1/2 catfish order each with four different sides. Great meal combo and for leftovers.

Super solid fried catfish. French fries were solid too. Everything tasted good and fresh. They took a little while and everything inside was kind of dated, but that doesn't take away from the food. I'd definitely go back.

Came here on the recommendation of another restaurant, for a great burger. Really solid place. First they address food allergies in their menu. The cook shellfish in separate oil, making it easy to order. This time just had to have the catfish. The catfish was light and moist, not a hint of fishy flavor. The sides were good, although the fries were soggy. Service was super fast and friendly. The parking lot was busy, but the interior is larger than it looks Do yourself a favor try bucks

Service was exceptional however the catfish is bland. Shumardiis in Bonham has better tasting catfish.

This was the best catfish I've ever had in my entire life, the fish was white and flaky with no silver skin and gristle the service was amazing and the restaurant was nice and clean I was on a fishing trip when I ate here and I would drive 2 hours just to eat this amazing fish again!!!!

First time customer and hopefully not the last. I absolutely enjoyed everything. I'd heard about this place from some Oklahoma family members of mine, so when we decided to meet here for lunch, I made sure to give everything a try! This place was jam packed right from the minute they opened, and by the time we left, the entire lobby was full of people waiting for a table. You definitely want to avoid peak lunch hour here if you don't want to wait! Inside was very casual and the waitresses were all very friendly. This is the kind of place you come to with family for the good home cooked food. This isn't the place you go to for the gram...it's definitely a hole in the wall, you go to eat some delicious catfish. Even the sides were all excellent. You could easily fill yourself up on the fresh cut french fries and hush puppies. Some of the best french fries I've had...no exaggeration. Great food, great service, what more do you need? Y'all, this place is so good!! My husband and I go, get practically everything on the menu (appetizer, large portion sized meals) and it's less than $50. The atmosphere is warm & friendly! Even when it's busy, the ambience is perfect for that low key date night. I love it because I don't feel like I have to dress up too much for a Saturday night date :)

Hucks have the best Catfish in Texas. I highly recommend it. They have friendly courteous staff and the atmosphere is very good.

Love this place super clean and the food is always super hot and delicious! It's so hot and fresh, that you have to wait for it to cool down before you can start enjoying it. The service is also top notch .

Went to Hucks today for lunch and was not disappointed. I had a grilled Chicken salad and some green beans and it was fantastic. My husband had a fish plate and he said it was great. The salad was huge. I had enough for lunch and enough to bring home for dinner tonight. The people that worked there were so sweet. And the service was fantastic. And the place was very clean and friendly.

We were a rather large group and they had our table ready. The menu is definitely fish with lots of choices. It is noisy if it's crowded - and it is. They have a good delivery system where several wait people bring the plates and loudly ask who it belongs to. The catfish was great. I did not care for the french fries as they seemed soggy and the okra was overcooked. We weren't asked about refills on our drinks. With all the construction it's a bit tricky getting to it.

Famous for fried catfish, honestly, I've eaten better or equally good catfish at other establishments. But, if you're in the area and want catfish then it will suffice. Service is average. Ambiance is kind of noisy.

All the staff was very friendly and the catfish and sides were amazing. The catfish was well-seasoned with a crispy coating and moist and flaky on the inside. Looked like mostly a local crowd here and they all seemed to be enjoying the food.

I started coming to Hucks over 11 years ago. I was a bit ignorant about the color of good salmon, and mentioned something to the waitress just asking a question. The owner came out and offered me a whole different meal, and I believe I declined, but in the end, he took my meal off the ticket. He didn't need to do that, but he valued my experience at his establishment enough to do whatever he could to ensure the experience was positive. I've never stopped going back, and if anyone asks my opinion, go and eat at Hucks!

Delicious catfish and great sides! This is a bit of a hole in the wall, with great service. We stopped here on the way to the casino and enjoyed a terrific lunch. Get here early, it can fill up fast.

Great food, family owned, great service, popular with locals. Been around for years. Simple down home atmosphere.

Something has gone horribly, horribly wrong here. I'm guessing the ownership/management has changed. The fillets are thinner than they've always been. They still taste good but they are definitely thinner. The sides are very inconsistent now. The fries are often overcooked, dry and hollow. The garlic bacon slaw doesn't even taste of garlic and now it's got huge chunks of bacon instead of smaller pieces. Think ima start looking for somewhere else to eat catfish and isn't that just a little bit sad?

Great, small town joint with an eclectic decor and friendly staff! The catfish portions are LARGE so a 1/2 pound order (two filets) with two sides was a lot!! The fish was delicious - recommend ordering it "burnt" (per menu) to get it crisper and slather on the homemade tartar sauce (made daily)!! We got the green beans (delicious), bacon Cole slaw (also made daily), sliced tomatoes (if you country, you country), and pickled jalapeño (which will put a pep in your step, fo' sho'). Others raved about the chicken, and grilled catfish is an option, as well. Love this place - take the family, include the grandparents, it's a great, family atmosphere.

THE BEST FRIED FISH!!! Being raised on farm raised fried catfish --we are picky!! We have been twice to this place on our way to Durant OK. A must stop if you are up that way. A little off the beaten path so use your GPS/Maps.

I used to love going to local, hole-in-the-wall Catfish joints when I lived in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma when I was a kid. Moving to the Sherman/Denison area has brought me back to those days as they are about 15 years behind the progression of Dallas suburbs. The good part of that is that options like Huck's exist here, whereas Dallas suburbia doesn't usually. Huck's is a great family place with a large menu, enthusiastic service and delicious food. Brought back memories.

While it's not five stars like a fancy steak restaurant, I give Huck's five stars because it is THE BEST catfish I've ever had. We drive there once in a while from the mid cities, and the 90 minute drive is totally worth it. This is my "birthday restaurant" and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants something that's in a class all to itself. The whole way up, I'll think about the food and the simple, kitschy decor that you'd find in a down-home roadside place, the hush puppies with the rich flavor and crispy crust, the light and flaky catfish, it is all EXCELLENT. We all love it.

Everything here is just perfect and has been for years. Usually a place changes throughout the years in some form, but not here. Always a great experience. The salmon patties are chef's kiss! The staff is always so kind and make you feel so welcome like you're family.

This place is a Gem! The service is A-1!! The food is so good!! For a place in Texoma, it's mind blowing! Th fish is cooked to perfection! The hush puppies are to die for!!!! There isn't anything I would change about this place! 5 star flavors and 5 star service! If you are in texoma this is a MUST EAT!
