Hudson House Opens in Lakewood With One of Dallas’s Best Burgers | Eater Dallas

"A DFW mini‑chain's Lakewood outpost, owned by Vandelay Hospitality, will open July 28 at 4040 Abrams Road as its third location, joining original and Addison sites (the latter opened in 2018). The 4,500‑square‑foot space—previously an IHOP—includes a private dining room called the Pineapple Room. The menu mirrors the chain’s popular offerings, featuring cheeseburgers, super‑cold martinis, East Coast oysters, and weekend brunch; daily happy hour runs 3–6 p.m. with half‑price burgers and budget‑friendly oysters. At debut it will offer dine‑in and takeout service with typical weekday hours around 11 a.m.–9 p.m., extended hours Thursday–Friday 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.–9 p.m." - Amy McCarthy

Chic Martini Hangout Hudson House Plots Its Third Location | Eater Dallas

"Opening in Lakewood in January 2020, this 4,500-square-foot seafood-focused restaurant at 4040 Abrams Road brings nautical New England vibes, a raw bar centered on bivalves, and a daily happy hour. The menu highlights East Coast–style raw seafood alongside nostalgic comfort plates like chicken parmesan, while the bar touts its self-described “world’s coldest martinis.” Housed in a former IHOP, pancakes are slated to return when the popular weekend brunch launches; regular hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The concept began with a Highland Park debut in 2017, expanded to Addison, and is run by Vandelay Hospitality, the operator behind East Hampton Sandwich Company (with a glam steakhouse called Drake’s planned for Bluffview)." - Tierney Plumb

GREAT SALADS AT THE HUDSON HOUSE The Beverly, the Hudson and the Greek salads were all present at our table and each was spectacular. Fresh ingredients, large variety of ingredients, and lots of them. I don’t think we could have ever put together these salads for the price. All were around $20. Oh, and since you’re eating so healthy, please feel free to get the truffle parm fries!

Google
My second time to a Hudson House, first time at this location. Decor- fabulous. Martinis- 10 stars. Food- just wow. Hard to decide what to order but we had the shrimp dynamite to start, and I had a lobster roll. Nice twist on a classic, loved the freshness of the celery to offset the butter. Shoestring fries- could eat a bucket of them! Mac and cheese - holy balls was it decadent and delicious! They advertise the coldest martinis and I don’t know if that’s true but they certainly were the tastiest! Will surely return on my next trip to Dallas.

Google
Excellent food good salads. Easily accessible the handicap. We had four different salads, all great. Recommend the salad. You will also find the French chicken to be very delightful. Restaurant is bright and cheery Lively conversation and atmosphere

Google
Fabulous oyster bar, creative signature dishes, artful salads, perfectly chilled old-school martinis. Staff members work smoothly together as a team, delivering seamless service. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Google
We tried this place for lunch. We ordered the pressed tuna sushi as an appetizer. It had great flavor. A little spicy with the pepper on top, but still good. We tried the French chicken and the lobster roll. Both were tasty. The French fries were delicious. The French silk pie was fantastic. Huge portion for the price. Our service was not the best. They gave our food to the wrong table. I ordered a Coke (comes in a bottle) and they gave me a glass of Diet Coke, but charged me for the bottle of Coke.

Google
I had a wonderful experience. I had two different oysters here, I can’t temper the name of them but if the menu given stays the same it would be the two at the top. The top left one was actually good. I was nervous that I wouldn’t like it. The top right wasn’t too bad either but I liked the top left better. I had the Hudson which is more than enough to have for lunch alone. Ended up having to pack it to go. I went ahead and ordered a cheeseburger to go as well as it’s said that it’s really good so I hope they’re right. Marissa was my server and also worked the bar. I could hear and watch how friendly she was with everyone she spoke to which was a delight! I enjoyed the decor and music selection and extra plus it’s right across from a coffee shop I’ve been wanting to try so I was able to get two things done in one trip.

Google
Simply delightful! My husband and I enjoyed the shrimp dynamite starter, lobster roll, and French chicken. It was so satisfying and the perfect portions for lunch. Highly recommend!!!

Luis C.

Google
Luis gave us the best bar experience we’ve had in a long time. The other bartenders didn’t want to talk at all, made me think what was wrong with their life, even when I thanked them, they wouldn’t look me in the eye. Luis was the complete opposite: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. He turned what could have been a disappointing visit into a great night, and he’s the reason my wife and I will be coming back. And all of this while he was handling all of the restaurant drinks.

Yelp
This was, hands down, the best Mac and cheese that I have EVER had at a restaurant. It's cheesy, creamy, and THE FLAVORS!!! the fish tacos were more like a fish burrito. They were huge. The server was professional without being overbearing and recommended some great food options. All of this is in a cozy space that resembles an elevated seaside diner. I'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
Let me start with the fact that my wife and I love Hudson House Lakewood so much. The food, drinks, and ambience are tremendous. We equate this to a Hillstones or even R&D Cafe, but closer to where we live (Lake Highlands). There's a range of variety of food across a range of price points. Their entree salads are giant. Their chicken is tender and delicious. Their burgers are great. There's never been anything we haven't enjoyed, including drinks. The ambience is a sunny, East Coast coast old world (1940-1950s) that has been modernized through decor, design, and art. There's a lot of brass fixtures, nods to old world bar/restaurants. And yet their artwork is like a modern art museum. Service - We always enjoy everyone who serves us. You can tell these are full-time professional servers who have done this for a living. There are some regular servers we see, but most often the faces we see each time are newer or familiar. Perhaps their server staff is just that big, or perhaps there's some turnover at this location. It's hard to say. However, my biggest gripe about Hudson House is that the commercial aspects of the business are something we'd heard from staff regularly. For example, I've been told numerous times about the reservations, numbers of seats, time limit of the reservation, etc. This hasn't been a one-off. I've had this come up from multiple servers and at least two hosts. One time with a party of 3 adults and two children, the server told us technically they would see this size as 5 seats for ordering, implying that small children don't bring revenue. Just last night: We had a host offer us a table of 6 but told us we'd only have 60 minutes to stay there. Thankfully we had a reservation for 4 already. The email reservation mentioned all reservations are for 90 minutes. I've never had a restaurant that so put this in the customers face. It's clear Vandelay management hammers these servers and hosts with the commercials, but customers really shouldn't be privy to the fact that they have a 90 min time limit - especially at a higher-end restaurant like Hudson House. Hillstones hurries you along, brings you the check ASAP, but it's sort of implied / unstated. Hudson House Lakewood actually talks about some of these behind-the-scenes commercial aspects to its customers, which is off-putting.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I recently took my family hero while visiting Dallas and had a great food experience. I will say my stonefruit cocktail/martini did taste a tad different (less balanced, on the sour side) and was not filled up as much as it typically was so that was a minor complaint that I had. However, my entrée made up for that as it was so good! I ordered the French chicken. The chicken was nice and juicy which I appreciated because it was a chicken breast. The sauce that comes with was a great addition with the fries as it kind of reminded me of steak au poivre but with chicken. I was also craving a salad so it was a great touch that it came with it as well. It's such a balanced dish and satisfies my cravings all in one. Service was great and I called 15 minutes before I arrive to try to grab a table as I didn't see anything online and they were pretty accommodating. For a mid dinner reservation on a Saturday it was pretty full, but parking was still ample.

Yelp
Hudson house is cool! It's actually a really big place, definitely bigger inside than it looked outside imo. Our server was super helpful and attentive, really appreciated that! The food was also really good, I took off one star cause it wasn't "mind blowing" per se, but I was quite full after my salad (Montauk tuna). We also got some fries that we shared for the table which were good (really liked the sauces!), and I had a French 75 which was pretty good. Bathrooms were definitely immaculate. The vibe inside reminds me of a more upscale Olive Garden if that makes sense? It's nice in general. Overall: would def come back, this is a nice place! Not my fave place in Dallas, but quite good.

Yelp
You already know - Hudson House is an absolute banger! This is a perfect spot to bring all your girlies and just have a good yap sesh. Cocktails are always fire. Food always on point. Service impeccable!! Try the chocolate silk pie it is zero calories ;)
google avatar

Yelp
Love this spot! Reservations needed and good for smaller parties but they do have a private room for large parties too. Delicious staple in dallas! Highly recommend the martinis, burger, filet, and fish tacos!! Great spot for small group dinner or lunch. They also have a nice happy hour and bar area for walk-ins!

Yelp
This is the 2nd time I've been here. First time I went to the Addison location. I had actually been craving this meal which is why I went back. I did prefer the other location over this one. The fries were over cooked and extremely salty and the roll had entirely too much butter. Both locations were equally loud and the staff was attentive at both.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Great food and cocktails. Hudson house is northeastern-seafood-inspired. Their menu reflects that, but they have a number of items that can make anyone happy. We had the burger which was fantastic, as well as the lobster roll which was delicious. They usually have several different types of oysters on the half shell. In the beginning, our waiter was a little bit in the weeds, but he certainly made up for it with his kind demeanor and attentiveness.
google avatar

AliETC S.

Yelp
Just cannot understand why there are never any reservations available on Open Table and whenever you arrive at the restaurant, it is empty and stays empty the whole time we are there. The ceiling tiles were never updated from the old IHOP that was once there.
google avatar

Yelp
First off, I have to say the staff was excellent! From the greeters, the hostess, to the servers, everyone was so pleasant and accommodating. The food was scrumptious! We ordered the pancake as our appetizer, it fed 3 adults and 2 babies just fine! It was so soft and fluffy! This pancake was one of the most unique pancakes I've had, it wasn't flat at all and the berries and fresh whipped cream were the perfect topping. We ordered the popcorn chicken and it came out piping hot, the dipping sauces were the perfect accompaniment, I really enjoyed the mustard sauce! We also ordered the lobster Benedict. I tried a forkful from my husband and I just say that I don't like Benedict dishes, but I would absolutely order this for myself. And the cheeseburger was perfection. The seasoned half pickle was a nice surprise! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Okay hear me out. This is a hot take in Dallas but I do think Hudson house is overrated and therefore overpriced. I think there is much better food you can get in Dallas for that level. HOWEVER the service is great. and HOWEVER this salad truly is phenomenal and unique and keeps us coming back. I do wish they would have a better dressing for it though. I'm tempted to bring the cilantro lime sauce from Coco Shrimp in my pocket and pour it on this

Yelp
Started off with the Stone Fruit Cocktail got rave reviews. She ordered a 2nd one so it was good. This is my daughter's 3rd time eating Oysters 2nd time here. She got the first 6 from the Oyster menus and LOVED IT! Said it was "so Yummy". The crackers and hot sauce adds to the flavor. Got mmmm's the whole time! Our waitress was AMAZING, friendly, and gladly answered all of our questions and made suggestions that we loved! TIP well and show your appreciation for great service!

Yelp
I admittedly was here (on 12/15) hoping for the extravagant Christmas decor but they only do that at the Lovers location FYI! Despite this the decor is very cute and they did have a tree/minimal decorations up at the time. I originally ordered the burger but they said they were out of it which felt odd for 6pm on a Sunday but I went with the fish taco instead. I was impressed with how big the portion was! It was full of flavor and I loved the sauce and salad it came with. I also ordered a side of the Mac and cheese. It wasn't the best Mac in the world seemed pretty bland but still good. I also got a stone fruit martini rimmed with citric acid which was sweet and strong! My server was kind and helpful with alterations to my boyfriend's entree. Will definitely come back for happy hour to try the burger.

Yelp
A remarkable feat of the culinary arts! My Wife and I went to Hudson House to celebrate our 6-month wedding anniversary and it was delightful! It was stylish in both decor and service; it felt and looked like a mid-century local restaurant from the 1950s. The service was stellar - I am personally grateful for my server, "Rita or Riya", who was superbly professional! I treated myself to a stone fruit martini - it was a fantastic blend of fruits and vodka that made my heart merry! The food is one another level! My Wife and I ordered the fish tacos for her, the Cheeseburger for me, and Truffle Fries & Avocado with chips for us to share (). The Cheeseburger was "serious" as in "seriously good"! I still haven't tried every burger in Dallas but I would put Hudson House's up there! The truffle fries were also rich in flavor - Beware: They could lead to an addiction! I have to give a huge thanks to my employers at TWT for providing the gift card that enabled my Wife and I to enjoy this marvelous dinner! Thank you

Yelp
Hudson House impressed me with its tasty healthy options - I was very happy with the Greek salad and coleslaw for their freshness and flavor. The place has a cozy vibe - not quite as Christmas-y as I was hoping. Seems that the heavy Christmas decorations are reserved for the location near highland park. The negative part of our experience was that a lot of the menu was already out of the stock for the night, at 745. The French chicken was completely sold out, as was their burger. Felt extra disappointing to me for them to not have these two items on a Sunday night at a reasonable time.

Yelp
This place was delicious ! You absolutely need reservations . We came in on a Wednesday evening around 5:45 and it was PACKED . This is a great spot to meet up with a friend or go out on a date. It is smaller, so I wouldn't bring a large party here because it can get cramped quickly. WHAT WE ORDERED : - half a dozen oysters ( yum ! ) love that they give you a handout with all their available oysters and you can just write in how much of each you want. - pressed tuna sushi ( soooo delicious ) - Beverly salad ( a healthy portion and great flavor ) - the cheeseburger ( had to steal some bites from my fiance ) - truffle parm fries and skinny fries ( ask for the truffle honey mustard !!) - French 75 ( not too strong but a great kick ) The only hiccup was we were given a bill to another table. We actually didn't even notice and the waitress caught her mistake before overcharging us. So just be sure to check your bill beforehand :) All in all, a great experience . Would love to come back.

Yelp
Came for a large group brunch and had a wonderful time. Smash: - Brunch wrap - the best thing on the brunch menu imo, it looks small on the plate but it is very filling - The pancakes - lemon poppyseed pancakes, a little indulgent but not overpowering, they're good - Popcorn chicken - flash fried to perfection, you can't go wrong - fries - also a crowd pleaser, I wish it came with an aioli! - eggs Benedict - man I love a Benedict and this did the trick Pass: - Avocado dip - it was fine just not memorable.. it comes with a ton of cilantro, so avoid if you have cilantro hating friends! - Shrimp dynamite - another ok option, came on a lil bed of veggies which was a good contrast to the heaviness - Hudson sandwich - idk the brunch wrap is just better so I'd have to pass on this one Drinks: You have to get the martinis here, they're good.

Yelp
Cute place ! I would recommend making reservations in advance it gets really crowded. We went to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had the best time, the waitstaff was great and the food was tasty! I got the chicken parm and it was perfectly crispy and the vodka sauce was amazing. We ordered the key lime pie for dessert with the birthday sparkler to end the night. It was great. Can't wait to get my girlfriends together and go back!
google avatar

Yara M.

Yelp
Nice place, delicious food and excellent service. Fish tacos were so good, I really enjoyed the ahi tuna salad. My son said his french chicken was also delicious.
google avatar

Dani A.

Yelp
A Dallas Classic. The oysters, the burgers, the salads. A place that will make everyone happy! It is cozy, consistent and the waitstaff has always been very friendly. The Hudson Spicy Chicken Salad is my go-to! And an espresso martini to pair, doesn't hurt

Berri A.

Yelp
Hello fellow Yelpers and Yelpettes! When Hudson House first opened up they were unbelievably good. I thoroughly enjoyed getting different options for oysters on the half shell. Now...most of the oysters we can get aren't on the board at all. The hamburger is great. Don't know what magic they do but hopefully they will keep doing it. Don't get the chicken pasta dish. The sauce is somewhat spicy but then they just slap a large of mozzarella on it. Looks like something you would get off a buffet line at a Cracker Barrell buffet. No creativity. The salmon cooked on wood. Amazing! I don't even like salmon. They could change things up by having specials. Unfortunately I won't be going back. You can only pay by credit card. I didn't know this as sometimes I pay with cash. On an odd note..da.da.da...they don't have toothpicks. I was told "We don't have those here." in a derogatory tone. Well..see ya. Peace Out! As always..your mileage may vary.
google avatar

Charley K.

Yelp
Always a favorite place for happy hour specials on oysters, hamburgers, and martinis (50% off) . Unfortunately the Lake Highlands location only serves this special at the bar sears which were full most of the time we were there. Suggest trying other HH locations where more seats available or policy to save it wherever they seat you. Even without specials, HH has great food and service at a slightly higher than most price. It can be noisy so save your important conversations for somewhere else.
google avatar

Adriana C.

Yelp
I'm so happy we got to try this place. We came on a Wednesday night and it was super busy. To start we got a lemon drop martini and margarita, both were very good. I love the lemon foam on top. The ambience is super nice inside and the customer service was great. For food we started with the shrimp appetizer which was tasty. For our meals we each got a hamburger and it was by far the best burger I've had in a long time. It was very big and filling. The food also came out so fast. I did try and espresso martini which I wasn't a fan of because it was way too sweet. I can't wait to return.
google avatar

Drea T.

Yelp
I cannot wait to go back to Hudson house! Everything was so nice in there. The servers were excellent and very attentive, which I love. Also this lobster roll is my new fave. I definitely give it a 10 out of 10. The lemon drop was also pretty good not too strong, but you can taste the alcohol.
google avatar

Franki H.

Yelp
Good happy hour! Stopped in and ended up ordering dinner because of the happy hour! They claimed best burger in Dallas and it did not disappoint!! It could have used a little more sauce but the burger itself was yummy. I really enjoyed the pickle on the side but will order it without the celery salt topping next time. It was salt overload!! The fries were crispy, salty and served hot. The Mac and cheese was really just a creamy flavor, not a complex dish but filling.

Tamara T.

Yelp
OK, I need to start it off with we love coming to this place. It has been one of our favorite happy hour joints for years and has been such an amazing place that we have cherished so many memories. However. Tonight was not one of those nights of cherished memories we showed up for happy hour and received martinis on happy hour that were less than an entire glass. They were half full, which makes sense why they are half priced. It was such a scam and made us really consider whether we will continue to come back here for happy hour if your drinks are half full. Bad experience tonight and wouldn't recommend happy hour martinis if you're looking for an actual martini that's filled to the brim shaken ice cold.
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
I think this is now my favorite place to come for happy hour in all of DFW! I love oysters, and when I saw they had a happy hour with them, I had to come. Their happy hour is from 3-6. My friend and I got there around 4:30 thinking we'd beat the crowd. We were wrong! Apparently we are late to the party with this very popular spot. It was only about a 20 min wait before we got a seat in the bar area. We were also offered martinis while we waited up front, which was really excellent service. The oysters were cold and fresh. Their burger ($10 on the happy hour menu) is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The blue and gold martini is THE best martini I think I've ever had. This is also a great spot for people watching. Really fun crowd!

Yelp
Ok, so while this is a "chain", it sure doesn't feel like one when you come in. This particular one I've decided to call my Oyster home, is run fantastically. While the lady doesn't like to sit at the bar, I sure do, because not only is the service wicked good, it's fast, friendly and you can see the magic behind the bar as they consistently rip out martini, cocktail and wine with speed and precision. It is a bit loud, but that is due to popularity. The din is one of utter enjoyment by the patrons. The raw bar is ridiculously good. Just tonite, I had 6 different, pristine oyster varietals, with the accoutrements you would expect. The best part, they are only desired sparingly. The different textures, brininess and liquor flavors are intoxicating. I can't help but have at least 2 dozen, while not cheap, it is worth the experience. While I've only had the oysters and martini's, the lady said the chicken parm is darn good. I cannot recommend enough. This raw bar is right up there with places I've been in NY, Baltimore and Charleston. You will not be disappointed. It gets darn busy, so I'd suggest reservations. We've just free-wheeled it and managed a spot at the bar (my favorite so lucky me). Make sure to speak up, but it's well worth it. Bring your big card, these oysters aren't cheap, but they're worth it. Slainte Mhaith, K-

Yelp
Second time ordering salads for pick up - a complete disaster. Lettuce was old, slimy and didn't even cover one layer in the dish for 2 of the 3 salads. Avocado was old - had black spots throughout. I guess if you are a take away customer, they have no concern for plating fresh food. Tried to order online but there is no option to add an extra or replace one meat with another. Then you are certainly made to understand, when they finally answer, that you are bothering the person answering the phone. Super sad!!!
google avatar

Savannah L.

Yelp
Stopped by for a Saturday lunch with a friend and was able to sit immediately at the bar. The food was great and I always love the ambiance here. Service was great as well. I got the Hudson salad and it is by far one of my favorite salads in DFW!
google avatar

Ashley V.

Yelp
A great vibe at this restaurant! We went after church and it wasn't too busy or too loud. The French toast was eye catching and delicious. We ordered the shrimp as an appetizer and I think it could've been just a bit crispier. The lobster roll was okay but not the best I've had. Overall the food is decent and pricey but a nice lunch option if you're in the area.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
Went in for dinner with my son at 4:55 PM. I was dressed casual and in clothes from yoga, but not to the point of being a mess there was availability online to be seated for a table but when asking the host if there was availability he said no and asked if "perhaps I'm at the wrong establishment" I said no, and showed that online it reflected there were available tables. There were spaces open at the bar, tables open in the dining area and along the windows/exterior but the host refused to seat us. Super disappointed that he wouldn't seat us despite there being no availability in the restaurant which was reflected online and in person. Super disappointed.

Yelp
Great brunch service! Split the pancakes and brunch wrap - a perfect order. The sauce that comes with the brunch wrap is SO GOOD. coffee was French press.

Yelp
I had a lovely birthday dinner here recently. The waiter was friendly and had a dry sense of humor. The drinks were yummy!!! The food was Devine. The butter on the steak made it and it was cooked to perfection. The walls have a funky mix of sports pictures and Matesse.

Yelp
I went here for the first time Tuesday and it met all my expectations! If you are planning on going here, make sure to get a reservation. We did not have one but we were lucky enough to get a great spot at the bar. Service was great! The bartender was great at answering all our questions and helped me decide on what to order. Our drinks were delicious. I got the popcorn chicken appetizer for my meal and it was more than enough! Came with different sauces and was really yummy. The chicken was super flavorful and tasted different than normal chicken tenders. If you are a big chicken tender person, I highly recommend these. My friend for ten Greek salad which was the other thing I was debating on getting and she said it was amazing! I will definitely be getting that the next time I go back. The ambiance was fun and elegant. The only thing to note is that the restaurant as a whole is really loud with talking. Not the restaurants fault but If you are hard of hearing you may want to go at a less busy time. I didn't mind though and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Amazing food and service! I feel like this is a definite must-try spot for Dallas. We loved it and will definitely be returning on our next trip! 10/10 recommend! Lobster roll was to die for.

Yelp
Flies everywhere so disgusting they were flying all over our food no one was trying to deal with them it was so unappetizing

Yelp
Ambiance - Went on a Sunday evening about 30 minutes before closing time and were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We ended up sitting at the bar since some seats became available before we were sat. The restaurant and bar were busy. Plenty of lighting and not loud, so you can enjoy conversation. Service - Bartender appeared to be busy which was expected since it was busy. He wasn't too friendly, probably because he was busy trying to get orders taken care of. Didn't check on us too often. My friend wanted the chicken parm and we saw several chicken parms come out while we waited to have our order taken and by the time he asked to take our order he said they were out of chicken parm for the night. Food - Everything I've ever had here is excellent, can't go wrong with any item. Also got a lemon drop and peach Bellini drink, both very good! The chocolate silk pie is one of my favorite desserts ever. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, highly recommend!

Yelp
The sugar rim on the stone fruit martini is LIFE CHANGING. The burger was delish. Fries were so good. And I have dreams about the Hudson salad. It's near the top of my usual eating out price range, but worth it during happy hour!!!

Rhonda J.

Yelp
My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. We had a reservation and were seated upon arrival. We waited for 15 minutes before the hostess came over and asked if we'd been helped. She took our drink order then we waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The waitress finally came and took our order when she dropped off the drinks never apologizing for the wait. Food came out promptly and was good but we were already over it so we quickly ate and left. We were overlooked and ignored and won't ever go back. When we left, we could see waitstaff smoking on the side of the restaurant. Fine to take a break but go somewhere else out of sight of patrons.

Audrey G.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! Great service and ambience, the food was incredible. The Hudson salad with spicy chicken was one of the best salads I've ever had. The Seafood Bouquet was also amazing and very fresh.

I returned for lunch and the French Chicken was a perfect dish! Service was fast and friendly. Great ambiance. This Lakewood neighborhood spot is always bustling so be sure to make a reservation.

Yelp
Snobby and stand offish, staff ignored us the moment we walked in, so we turned and walked back out. Went down to the nearby Dream Cafe, better food, ambiance and friendly staff who want your business. This place was better when it was an ihop.

Yelp
I was at Hudson house yesterday sitting at the bar with my best friend. Chanel was outstanding, she was friendly, helpful, professional and attentive. She gave us attention when she was very busy. I will definitely go back again and look forward to her serving us.

Yelp
Finally went for dinner with a friend, and glad I did. Pleasant, lively atmosphere, and top-notch service. Lots of items on the menu I'd like to try next time. But I won't do the burger again. Nobody has a mouth big enough to get around the meat and that mile-high sesame seed bun, so you either gnaw around the edges, or eat it with a fork and knife. Which makes it not a sandwich. The fries were "skinny fries," and were fine if that's what you like. I'm not a fan. As I said, I want to go back, but I'll pass on the burger and fries.

Yelp
TL;DR: come for happy hour martinis and the mac and cheese, just not on Fridays unless you enjoy waiting! Came for Friday happy hour at around 4:30, and it was PACKED. We put our names down and waited a good 20 min before a seat opened up at the bar, and then another 20 for our table (in the bar area to still enjoy HH). I believe you can only make reservations for standard tables, which is a bummer for the HH seekers. Ambience: warm and lively with somewhat mid-century modern/cruise ship vibes? Not in a bad way. Service: our server Makenzie was friendly and attentive despite the busy evening. Thanks Makenzie! Drinks: I got the lemon drop and stone fruit martinis, and my partner got a margarita and paloma. All great, strong drinks, but I do think their martinis are their forte. Food: we each got a cheese burger and shared an order of mac and cheese. The burgers were solid, and as a pickle-enjoyer, I appreciated the abundance of pickle, but IMO it didn't live up to the hype. For me, the star was actually the mac and cheese! One of the best l've had in Dallas. We've also previously gotten the lobster roll and redfish for dinner, which were both a bit bland and underwhelming. Value: prices lean on the higher end, but happy hour prices are more reasonable ($6 martinis and $10 burgers). Overall, I'd come back for happy hour martinis and the mac and cheese, but probably not on a Friday given the popularity. And although the burgers are tasty, I'll probably go to Keller's or Bowen House the next time I'm craving one.

Been to Hudson house a couple of times. Absolutely love their happy hour oysters and drinks. Terrible ambience and service!
