The Best Vietnamese Food in Seattle for Takeout and Delivery | Eater Seattle

"This 12th and Jackson strip mall gem has built a following for its fried butter chicken wings; crusted with garlic, green onion, chili, and salt, available for takeout. The restaurant also recently received a $10,000 grant from the city of Seattle, so hopefully it’s sticking around awhile." - Gabe Guarente

In the morning, I ordered 3 portions of wonton noodles, the shop was too enthusiastic to give us special gifts Cockroach topping , I came to tell the shop. The attitude is very indifferent, without an apology and only says "Due to negligence, next time they will gave us something dor make up 🤣". but for real who dare to come back after that.🤢

Google
I really enjoy visiting this restaurant. You can order either the braised beef or the duck noodle soup, both of which are delicious. In addition to the noodles, I highly recommend the fried chicken wings. They are crispy and flavorful, and it’s best to eat them while they’re hot. The customer service is great, and the food is served quickly.

Google
Dropped in after a grocery run at 99 Ranch since the restaurant’s right inside the same building—parking’s plentiful. I tried the mì hải sản and mì vịt tiềm; the duck noodle soup was the clear winner with a deep, comforting broth, while the seafood version was just okay. Servers stayed attentive and friendly the whole time. Solid option for a quick meal, but if you’re hunting for standout Vietnamese flavors, there are better choices around.

Gord R.

Google
Walked in after grocery shopping at 99 Ranch. Prices are very reasonable but the quality of the food was hit or miss. They're half Chinese and half Vietnamese cuisine... Their noodle dishes are their specialty so I would stick to those and tread carefully with wontons.

Google
Food is food, service is ridiculously awful. Just bad. The old lady look bothered to serve and can't even wait for me to finished telling her my order. I always have dry and because she so rush to leave even tho they not even busy, i have no chance to tell her i want it dry instead of soup.

Alan Chung

Google
Been coming here for years. They are fast and consistent. Great service and attitude. The wok hei in their chow fun is what i look forward to each visit. Kao Sui and wonton in chilli sauce is our frequent dish.

Suwida

Google
Fast service! Overall the food was good. Ordered barbecue pork chow fun with gravy, barbecue pork wonton noodle soup, chicken wings, crispy noodles, and salt & pepper prawns.

Google
Best noodles in the area, hands down! This spot is located inside the Great Wall Mall on the right side near the back, next to the Pho restaurant. Service is pretty good, they are attentive to taking orders and refilling waters. All of the noodle dishes are so good, as well as the appetizers. Place is usually pretty packed on weekends, so you may have to wait outside in the Mao for a bit until seating becomes available. (Worth it IMO)

Yelp
Another favorite of mine inside the Great Wall mall. Don't expect much for the atmosphere but come for the food and efficient service. They specialize in Chinese/Vietnamese fusion noodles among the great butter fried chicken wings (it's a must get). My favorite things to get are the sui kao and char sui noodle soup and the duck leg noodle soup. If you're hungry, ask for extra noodle in your bowl. A great place for a quick lunch!
google avatar

Pamela M.

Yelp
They charge extra for dumplings, but when I get home and open them to eat, there are no dumplings in the box. People should be careful when order to go because no one will open them to check when taking out. When I opened the box, the food presentation was terrible, not like before

Yelp
I haven't been to Great Wall in awhile so I was surprised to see this place. Maybe it's always been there and I've never noticed haha. Got dinner here with my friend and her family. Very Asian decoration inside haha. Picture of food on the wall is a great sign. The ladies working were fast and friendly. I ordered m12 with wonton and bbq pork. Serving was huge, lots of wonton and slices of bbq pork. Everything was great, broth was on the sweeter side but nothing some chili oil and vinegar couldn't fix. I only manage to eat half before asking to take the rest home. Very yummy bowl of noodles. Loved the bits of fried pork I was getting in my soup. Will def be back if I'm ever in the area!
google avatar

Natasya J.

Yelp
We ordered roast duck egg noodle, fried butter garlic wings & beef chow fun. We absolutely love the roast duck egg noodle & beef chow fun! The wings were great & crunchy & juicy, but it can do a bit more seasoning on the outside. The beef chow fun was delicious but it is a little bit too oily to my liking! Service was fast & restaurant was clean and accommodating!
google avatar

Yelp
What in the world. There was a cockroach in my little brother's noodle soup. When I pointed out the cockroach, they just brought him a new bowl without apology and just charged us for it like nothing happened. We've been coming here for years-- they should have the decency to offer the meal or even the bowl for free. They obviously do not care about customer service or cleanliness. Never again.

Yelp
This is one of few spots I see inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall that has every table filled during lunchtime on weekends, and for good reason too! I usually go here for lunch with family whenever I visit the 99 Ranch in the same building. Inside gets particularly loud, and there aren't as many tables to sit in as you would expect. Food was brought out relatively quickly, and it was easy to flag down someone for tea or water. I got the combination rice noodle, which has shrimp, chicken, BBQ pork and pork liver. I'm not a fan of pork liver, but the soup base and shrimp were so flavorful! The taste of the chicken and the BBQ pork weren't to my liking. Noodles did not fall apart too easily and balanced the saltiness of the soup base, which was a plus. I also ordered some Chinese donuts as an appetizer, and they're some of the best I've had since they were crispy and not drenched and soggy from any excess oil. This is a place I like coming to again and again for their noodle soups at relatively low prices per bowl too!

Yelp
Hate to say this because it's perhaps one of my favorite Asian restaurants anywhere but... Well I can say in it was VERY overwhelming. The smell of incense made me lose any interest of ordering or eating here. And I come here often and know the menu well! Never experienced this before and hope it's not going to be regular. Maybe they just lit it or something? The server couldn't understand what I was trying to tell her as I thanked her nice and left holding my nose as the international PU sign while pointing to the incense. A restaurant should smell like good food not incense. Completely lost my appetite. I hope this is a one off occurrence as I love their food!

Yelp
This authentic family-owned Vietnamese-Chinese restaurant is located inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall. The restaurant is a fast, casual place for families to dine-in and enjoy a warm meal. The wait time may be long due to the popularity of Hue Ky Mi Gia, but the food is served quickly once you are seated and finish ordering. The service here is great and moderately fast for how busy the restaurant is. There is also a self-serve area for extra condiments such as pickled jalapeños, hot chili oil, and soy sauce. I've had the fried calamari, wontons and tofu here. But unfortunately they were out of several appetizers during this visit. We ordered the Cánh Gà Chiên Bơ (Fried Butter Chicken Wings) to start off our meal, and it was absolutely crispy and delicious. I highly recommend getting any of the fried appetizers, because they're always served hot and fresh. Mì Vịt Tiềm (Braised Duck with Egg Noodle Soup) is always my go-to order here, because the broth is savory and the braised duck meat is super tender. I love the addition of bok choy, because it adds a fresh, crispy element to the dish. I typically don't eat the shiitake mushroom in the soup, because it has a strong herbal flavor that enhances the umami in the broth. Mì Xào Giòn Bò (Crispy Chow Mein with Beef) is a childhood favorite of mine, because I always enjoy how crunchy the noodles are. The noodles in the middle are usually softer because it soaks up the sauce that is poured on top of the dish. The veggies also add a nice crunch, I love bok choy and the beef is tender. Overall, I would say this is one of the best Vietnamese-Chinese noodle houses in Washington. It's even better to dine here on a super cold day, because the soup instantly warms you up.

Gerald L.

Yelp
Always have a good experience. Extensive menu. Love the dry version of the noodles especially M3 on the menu. Includes a small bowl of broth. There is a condiment table with chili oil, picked jalapenos, soy, and other hot sauces. Service is efficient. Sadly, this is the only branch left as the ones in Little Saigon and Tacoma have both closed.

Yelp
Great soup restaurant. You know how the flow goes: you walk in, get seated, order your food, eat and drink, and go up to the counter to pay. If you want to get the wait staff's attention, you just need to wave them down. They'd be glad to come to you without hesitation. This is my fav go-to place when I visit Great Wall Shopping Plaza.
google avatar

Edna D.

Yelp
Second time eating here, they have an extensive menu. I tried the braised duck soup, it wasn't that great! I love the taste of Peking duck but not in soup. My husband had the beef egg noodle soup. It was beautifully presented and was enjoyable and filling. I also enjoyed the spicy wonton. Service is quick but the place is crowded. The tiny restaurant is located inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall.

Janice D.

Yelp
Sooo yummy, veggie and tofu vermicelli noodles for me and braided duck noodle soup for him. We are in our happy place.
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
I never went yo the CID location and my friend always raved about their butter wings. So when my dad and I found ourselves at Great Wall when we were trying to decide between. Mama Dough and this place I selected Hie KY Mi Gia. Of course we ordered the wings they came out piping hot, chicken was well cooked and tender with crispy out side. My dad had the beef brisket noodle and I had the combination egg noodle. We ate one wing a piece and brought the rest home cause the noodle soup definitely filled us up. Staff quick and courteous. Would return when in the area and looking for a good bowl of egg noodles. They open at 10am which is nice
google avatar

Mia P.

Yelp
I always get braised duck noodle soup It's one of my favorites, especially when it's cold outside or if I'm sick
google avatar

Damian W.

Yelp
kids want to try the beef noodle soup here since we see most people order noodle soup here. So we try it. The ambience is your typical Chinese restaurant and the staffed are from Vietnam but they speak Chinese too. Order the fried squid. It came out really fast. It was nice but wished it had more breading on it so is more crunchy. The beef noodle soup was ok. Is not your typical Taiwanese Noddle Soup 牛肉面, is more like Hong Kong style. The noodle is egg noodle so not much noodle and the beef was nice but not many pieces. The broth is clear broth. Probably will not be back.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
I was so bummed to see the DT seattle location close but glad that this location is still open. The menu here is pretty huge so you are bound to find something on the menu that you like. Can't go wrong with the wonton noodle soup if you're stumped. The service here is as expected from any asian establishment - they leave you alone until you need something and then you have to flag them down to get their attention. They have a self service condiment bar (pickled jalapenos, soy sauce, siracha, chili oil, etc.) here which is nice because you don't have to keep asking for things. Was a bit disappointed as they don't offer lime or veggies with your noodle soups. Food came out quick and lavor is pretty authentic for the hu tieu and mi vit thiem. Love the garlic butter wings - definitely get this if you're a fan of wings!
google avatar

Christy H.

Yelp
Noodle bowls are always a hit. Butter garlic wings are phenomenal. Deep fried tofu is crack. Service is decent they won't come to you unless you flag them down which is fine. The ambiance is loud and you get to sit with strangers if the tables are full and you're by yourself or traveling with a soulmate. Food has been consistent except for the last time I went - it was bland! Womp womp!
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
The salt and pepper fried chicken was my favorite. The fried rice was just ok. It was a very casual Asian eating place, not much of service and the restroom was quite dirty. The price was relatively low.
google avatar

Larry L.

Yelp
Hue Ky Mi Gia is a Viet and Canto restaurant located in the Great Wall Mall. The majority of the menu is noodles and soups. Expect the parking lot to be busy but I've always been able to find a spot here. Service is typical of Asian restaurants, be prepared to flag someone down when you need it. The noodle soups here are great. They were cooked well with good flavor. In hindsight I should have asked for chili sauce for my beef noodle soup but it was good without it (I just like spicy food ). I also ordered takeout so I could have it for dinner and everything was packaged well. I definitely plan to come back since their menu is extensive and there is so much I want to try.
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
It should be more like a 4.5 but I can only give 4 stars. Their chicken wings are soooo bomb! If my bf and I weren't on a diet, we would order two plates of the wings alone. The beef noodle soup is perfect - the broth, the meat the noodles, the ratio, etc. We've tried a bunch of other dishes here and they were all good. During our last visit, we also got the honey walnut shrimp. The batter was too thick and it didn't have enough of the sauce. This is such a gem in Renton. If you want wings or noodles, this place has it!
google avatar

Cong C.

Yelp
Good stuff one of my favorite noodles place in town without going into Seattle their broth so good always ask for their pickle papaya

Catelin L.

Yelp
don't let the strong incense sway you from trying the food here. i ordered dry noodle with roasted chicken and you tiao on the side. perfection. the noodles had the perfect flavor and the chicken was roasted beautifully. i'm not a big fan of meat but i was eating that chicken up. the soup on the side was eh -- just tasted sesame. i'd def come back next time im in seattle

Itz S.

Yelp
Customer Service is rude and not welcoming. Was talking too fast and unfocused. Felt disrespected.
google avatar

Jacquelyn D.

Yelp
This places is still awesome! I'm just making people aware if they have a problem with it remaining on Sometimes it can mess the taste up but these were the only 2 pieces that had it. Disappointed because it such a waste

Bo W.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I especially like the spicy wonton dish. The service was great. They got our food out so fast. The ambiance is a noodle restaurant.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Busy Asian restaurant we found in the Great Wall Asian marketplace. The staff was quick to acknowledge and seat us. My partner ordered tofu chow mein,' and I ordered BBQ pork with vegetables and white rice. Hers was vegetarian and tasted good, with good flavor. Mine was ok; not a lot of meat, but the flavor was good. Feel that we did not receive equal product versus price. I do feel it's a good family quick lunch location.
google avatar

Gary K.

Yelp
Upgraded to 4 stars after 7 years. When they initially opened, it definitely lagged the original in Seattle ID. However, eating here countless times over the past 7 years, we have observed a steady improvement. At one stage, we preferred the fried chicken wings here over the same in ID. But we have not ordered this recently. As our go-to for sustenance and comfort food before or after weekend grocery shopping at the nearby 99 Ranch Market, it gets a solid 4 stars.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
I oder seafood crunchy noodles and the sauce was so watery, taste like homemade ! Food wasn't tasted good anymore , they have change the chef's for sure ! I won't come back !
google avatar

Ana Karen C.

Yelp
I ordered the salt and pepper squid which tasted good by the way however, the portion was very small. Personally I would not order it because of the portion size :/
google avatar

Jim J.

Yelp
Food was average. Disorganized staff. Most likely related to the fresh opening. Maybe they get more organized as the mature.
google avatar

Sean A.

Yelp
The server knows our order so I guess we are considered regulars. I get the roasted chicken. Always order extra wonton with anything you order.
google avatar

Monicka T.

Yelp
Great wonton spot with variety of other delish dishes! They get busy fast on the weekends but the food is worth it'
google avatar

Thomas L.

Yelp
The food was very good! The wait was not too long and the food was delicious. Definitely a Vietnamese spot so unsure why it says Chinese noodle house in the sign but regardless definitely would eat here again!
google avatar

Eva M.

Yelp
I've eaten at Hue Ky Mi Gia once in Chinatown, and this is the first time from this Kent location. For the most part, I like the food, especially their egg noodles; the texture is wonderful. Wait time is pretty fast; 15 minutes for take-out. The food (take-out): Beef Brisket Noodle soup, dry style - 3.5 stars Officially, this is a dipping soup, or dry style by their nomenclature. I warmed the stock and decided to just mix it. The dry style tends to be saltier. Will switch to soup style in the future. Seafood Egg Noodle Soup, soup style - 3.5 stars I thought this has a good balance of noodles, seafood, and a touch of veggies. There is a lot of stock (too much), and I tossed some. The stock doesn't have a very strong flavor. I reheated at home which condensed the stock somewhat; that helped. Seafood Stir fry Vermicelli - 4.5 stars This was tasty, a mild yellow curry type of flavor, with bits of eggs and a good amount of seafood. It reheated really well too. My favorite characteristic of all 3 dishes is the quality and texture of their noodles. :)
google avatar

Zac D.

Yelp
Place is always hopping, and food comes quick after you order. Getting someone to take your order may take some effort though if it's really busy. The food here is mixed. Always a fan of their crispy chicken wings, and their soups are all good. Even the clearer broths have good flavor. To be honest, I actually like the wings to go more than dine in. Inn the restaurant they are just a bit too crispy, but allowed to steam in the box for a few minutes and eaten in the car in the parking lot is amazing. Some things, like the crispy wontons, aren't worth it though. They are definitely crispy, but there's almost no meat at all. I'd say stop by to eat some wings and soup, and try another place in the same little mall while you're at it.
google avatar

J T.

Yelp
The only Cantonese egg noodle house you need to know and visit in Seattle. They have wide selections of appetizers that are crispy delicious. Truly a rare find.
google avatar

Cat L.

Yelp
This is a Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant in an Asian strip so don't expect 5* service. You're lucky when you get a smile. Check to make sure you get your extras if you ask for or order extras otherwise pfffttt. I usually have their specialty dried w a soup on the side, the portion is decent and the broth is good. The flavor is decent as well. Make sure you get their pickled jalapeños! They're really yummy w the food. Also make sure to order their fried fish sauce chicken wings, they're crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I just can't seem to able to give them more than a 3 w the kind of service (or lack there of) they're providing
google avatar

Yelp
The BEST duck soup I have ever had in my life! Anytime I end up in the Tukwila area, I come through the Great Wall Mall for this place. The duck soup with noodles is truly one of the great culinary gifts that Renton offers. The broth is moorish and even when you're stuffed, you'll keep jamming broth into you because it's so damn good. We got some noodle dish which wasn't very good. I think it's one of those thrown onto lots of menus to appease different palates. I cant remember the name. The final was the spicy wontons. Holy god. The sauce they were gently tossed in was so good that I eventually had them sell me a small jar to take home. Please go here and agree with me.
google avatar

Hung V.

Yelp
This is my go spot since moving to Renton, Washington. Nice portions and fair price for Pho. My favorite is the pork chop rice plate.

Bob W.

Yelp
Ordered a noodle and it has like only a few pieces of meat and a lot of vege, but that's fine. However, the vege is rather hard and dirty on the stem. Not edible. The taste was definitely good on the soup, meat, and noodle, but the vege is just not acceptable. I think I would give one star, but I will give two stars since I am generous today.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
We started with the Salt snd Pepper wings which was deep fried, crispy and well seasoned. A good choice for an appeptizer. My selection of combination noodle consisted of shrimps, BBq pork, chicken and pork liver. The green lettuce in the dish really enhanced the presentation especially with a touch of fried garlic on this dish. I selected egg noodle with broth on the side. BBQ Pork chow- funn was another dish we ordered and the amount of pork slices was very generous with veggetables cooked together. It was an adequate meal of nourishment with good taste and value. Hue Ky Mi Gia has been always a favorite and dependable restaurant to deliver good food in Kent.
google avatar

M D.

Yelp
I have been a long time customer and eaten many times. The soup and noodle have always been spot on: super flavorful and fresh. I was so disappointed this time we ordered Mi Thap Cam and Mi Vit Quay. The duck meat literally tasted old and stale. The broth tasted medicinal and had a horrible aftertaste like they added hot water and herbs to compensate for lack of bones used. The noodles tasted worse than instant noodles. It was so unedible every bite made me want to gag. So unfortunate as this was the spot to go and I find it weird why the lines can be long. Get it together!
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
My all time favorite wonton noodle place! Other dishes in the menus are very good too.
google avatar

Alice X.

Yelp
I was in the area and was getting hungry and needed to order something to go and I remembered that Hue Ky Mi Gia was famous for their garlic chicken wings. And boy did they not disappoint! My to-go order only took 10 minutes to prepare. The wings we're so flavorful and crispy! Exactly how I love my wings! Ill definitely come here again for their garlic wings or something else!

Son H.

Yelp
Great food and service. I always get salt fish fried rice and salt pepper squid here.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
Pretty good place! Seems like everyone comes in here has ordered their fried chicken wings, so I had to give it a try. It was very good! Not my top 3, but very good. They have really good soups, such as egg noodles, rice noodles, and wonton.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I came here because of convenience and also, how much I LOVE the Hue Ky Mi Gia in Chinatown. However, the food here is not good and service can highly be improved. Presentation of the food is great though and easier parking.
google avatar

Aivy H.

Yelp
I came here in hopes of trying a childhood classic. The mi vit quay here definitely very enjoyable (with a little chili and soy sauce). The order came out very quick, under 10 mins and the staff were super friendly. I can totally understand why this restaurant is so busy. I'm very excited to try this restaurant more often.
google avatar

Cindy V.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite noodle place. The food here over the years has became more bland in taste especially the egg noodle soups. I can't speak for the other main dishes, but the appetizer is still good in quality. The fried finger food such as the fried chicken wings and fried squid is still delicious. Super crispy and not too floury in taste. To be honest, I probably won't be coming back anytime soon. The soup is bland that even when I put a lot of chili oil and soy sauce in, it doesn't really fix the problem. The soup comes out pretty clear which made me think it was "clean" ingredients but really it's just super watered down. The portion though is pretty big, but they only offer one size.
