Google
Absolutely love this place! The food tastes just like authentic Vietnamese home cooking — fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The bun bo hue broth is rich and comforting, and the banh nam is perfectly balanced. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. Easily one of the best Vietnamese spots in town! Don’t forget the pork feet and the banh beo! Easily accommodated 10 of us for lunch

Google
Hue Oi has the best Banh Beo Chen I’ve ever had hands down…and I’ve tried just about every one in the Little Saigon area…If there were such a thing as a Michelin Star worthy Banh Beo Chen this would be it. I drive down from Fullerton at least once a week for these. Ask for their hot chili oil and some extra pork rind. So good :)

Google
I wouldnt even been mad if it didnt cost so much. Its just wayyy too expensive for ok food. Banh xeo is crispy but Ive had better. Rice was bland and dry, fish was soooo moist just so bland. The sauces to dip our food in were all meh and pretty straight forward, like its traditional for sure but for what youre paying youd expect more than just okay. I wanted to excuse it for us just coming so close to closing thats why the flavor was meh and that maybe the soups are better (no soup were avail since we came so late). For only banh xeo and a rice dish-no sides no drinks our total came out to nearly $50…. There is so much staff so you get efficient service though. The girl who helped us was adorable and sweet lol. Ive wanted to try this place for so long since its always busy, just kinda sad. edit: I read some comments about the service being bad but I already expected bad service cuz most viet restaurants dont care about service so I didnt have complaints lol. We solely were there for the food

Google
I visited Hue Oi for the mi quang, and it's the best I've had in OC. The dish was flavorful, clean-tasting, and well-portioned. I only wish they de-shelled the shrimp because once I removed the shells, the shrimp didn't have any flavour remaining, which defeats the purpose of leaving the shells on to retain flavour during the cooking process. All in all though, this place is solid.

Google
Warm light, wood accents, and the soft hum of a dining room that feels unhurried. You catch the aroma of simmering broths and fresh herbs as you sit. The room reads welcoming and polished, a neighborhood spot that treats dinner like a small occasion. The Food Clean, balanced flavors with the depth you expect from central Vietnamese cooking. Broths taste clear yet layered, sauces stay bright, and textures land exactly where they should. Plates feel satisfying without heaviness, the kind of meal that leaves you content and clear headed. Service & Atmosphere Gracious and organized. Staff check in at the right moments, pace courses well, and offer helpful guidance without hovering. The room holds steady energy without getting loud, easy for a date night, family dinner, or a relaxed meal with friends. More Details • Vegetarian options: A solid handful of meat free choices. Staff can help assemble a full vegetarian meal. • Dietary restrictions: Fish sauce, soy, peanuts, and shellfish are common. The team is attentive to adjustments where possible. • Parking: Typically ample plaza parking with steady turnover during dinner hours. • Kid friendliness: Comfortable for families, quick pacing and shareable plates. • Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level entry with movable seating. Ask for a roomier table at peak times. Final Take Refined comfort with clarity and heart. Five stars for flavor, kindness, and a room that makes you want to linger for one more conversation.

Google
This restaurant is newly remodeled and located in a big plaza. Plenty of parking spaces. They offer central Vietnamese dishes. The food is decent and the service is great. Overheard a complaint from the nearby table and the owner or manager took care of that incident extremely well. The restaurant is family friendly and handicap accessible.

Google
We came in and were seated immediately. Our order was taken soon after. We ordered 2 Banh Beo Chen and 1 Com Ga Nuong Plate. Both are good choices. I prefer to split 1 Banh Beo and 1 Com Ga Nuong so I can enjoy more food. The chicken is moist and tasty. It looks healthy but it still has that flavor. The Banh Beo is flavorful as well. The rice with the Nuoc Mam is one of the best parts for me. Service was good. We got 2 water refills throughout the meal. Hand sanitizer is available at the door. FYI EBT is accepted here.

Google
This place is so spacious & clean. I love the purple 💜 color interior. The employees are very welcoming and nice. We only ordered 2 items since we didn't have time to eat. 1: Bun Bo Hue - was delicious with lots of flavors I thought it could use some more lemongrass but it was friend's favorite; she couldn't stop saying how good it was. 2: Banh Beo - it was perfect! There were fresh shrimp chunks which I've never seen at other restaurants. I would of gotten 2 orders ! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Not the last stop but the last review for now (had Lee's Sandwich but will spare that review) Ordered via Doordash delivery and can't say it enough, but the service was fast and friendly. Ordered tre and com am phu. I picked this place because the cuisine seems to be regionally different than other common Vietnamese food I've had. Tre isn't for me remotely, thought it was hot, but it was ice cold. I might be down for hot pig ear/skin etc chopped up but cold it was hard as a rock. That's a me thing just not being accustomed to that, the fact it was homemade is cool enough. The com am phu "hell's rice" was really good. Definitely more fishy/fermented forward flavor. It is rice with ground shrimp, lemon grass pork slices, "quiche" but felt like meatloaf, thin slices of "bologna", and roasted pork belly. A garlicky fish sauce accompanied, but still not necessarily nuoc cham. Was pleased with the differences in meals between Brodard and Hue Oi. Overall will definitely order again except for the tre as I don't understand this particulary.

Yelp
...a huge group of friends from the gym gathered here to have a leisurely lunch together after working out. The place is cozy yet can accommodate a large group also. Some ordered off the menu and some ordered as family style. I saw a large variety of different Vietnamese specialties. I had my heart set to try their Banh Khoai and wasn't disappointed. Fresh crispy pancake with shrimp and pork, accompanied by a whole plate of fresh lettuce, cilantro, basil & mint with a large cup of their signature peanut sauce. Thank you Twee for having us and congratulations again on the grand opening of your 3rd successful restaurant!

Yelp
My friends and I came across the restaurant near Fountain Valley. I wanted some noodles and got the Banh Uot Thit Nuong. There was people inside but not too noisy. Service was nice and fast. The vermicelli noodles were good and fresh. I wish the chicken had a bit more lemongrass but overall, it was still yummy. Vegetables were fresh which is what I like with my vermicelli bowl.

Yelp
It's been a while, but we made it back to Hue Oi. They serve comfort Central Vietnamese food. Always a good choice for a fast lunch. Fast service. Casual. Traditional menu items Please come and create your own adventures!

Yelp
Likes: + Decent casual VN dining. The food's alright. + Polite staff. + Ample parking. + Plenty of indoor seating. + Pleasant ambience.

Yelp
Came here today with my cousin and friend for a late lunch since I was in the area. I'm honestly shocked this place is rated only 3.5 stars because the Bun Bo Hue here is fantastic! The broth was so flavorful, and they had that special meatball (I'm not sure what it's called, but it's a must-have for me) that so many places skip. It was delicious and added that extra touch to the bowl. I finished every last drop...it was that good! Definitely recommend this spot if you're craving some solid Bun Bo Hue. This place deserves way more love!
google avatar

Yelp
We learned about this restaurant from watching an online video and heard it was known for the Bun Bo Hue. I've never had it before, thinking it was the same bland flavor as another dish that is similar in appearance. I'm glad i decided to try something new, as my mind was blown! The flavor in the broth brought me instant comfort. We went on a Sunday evening, and surprisingly, the restaurant was a ghost town! I understand it was a Sunday, but I think only two other parties came in the entire time we were there. The restroom needed a lot of work, as the urinals were bagged up, one stall was sealed off, and the only open stall had a spot on the wall at head's height that was completely caked in booger material. The other thing that brought down the rating was that once we were seated and ordered our food, the server kept walking by our table, staring at us....and asking again and again "anything else?" Mind you, we're the only three people in the restaurant, and it felt like she was doing a vulture circle on us. What made it even more odd is that as persistent as she was about hovering over us, it took a good 15 minutes for them to bring our bill and process everything. I'm not sure if they wanted us to leave or to stay.... Taste the soup before you add anything 5/5*,

Yelp
Went here for the first time and the food and portion sizes were decent. The bun bo hue tasted yummy but a bit on the sweet side than what I'm normally used to. Our waiter was nice and accommodating and that was appreciated for sure. The restaurant was clean and cozy and they played nice music in the background. We will definitely try some new dishes next time. The only thing that we tried that could use some improvements is this one dish that was supposed similar to banh xeo (forget the name) as it lacked in flavor and was served with some sort of peanut sauce. Overall we had a nice experience and will be back one day.
google avatar

Hondo B.

Yelp
This restaurant has the best bun bo hue in bolsa area. I've been coming here a few times already when I crave bun bo hue. Their Mi quang also good. Service was also good. Men Bathroom could use some TLC.

Yelp
My first time trying out this restaurant. The service was okay. The restaurant is clean and spacious. They focus on Central Vietnamese food. I believe the taste is authentic from Central Vietnam.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Great restaurant and delicious food! You just get their chicken salad, the flavor is phenomenal! By far my fave dish! Very nice decor and super clean. Service staff were very friendly.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
It's a good place for Bun Bo Hue! Authentic Vietnamese dishes ! Service is good and very friendly staff
google avatar

Jo T.

Yelp
The restaurant was very nicely decorated. But my table and menu was sticky. Four of us ordered different things. The food was "ok" nothing exciting, the food a little bland which surprised me. Service was slow. Server was very quiet, very shy ? Just didn't get the vibe he wanted to be working That day. Leftovers... but not that good to pack up. Would we go back ? Probably not. Would I recommend, probably not.
google avatar

MinhAnh T.

Yelp
Love their bun bo hue! Staff is nice. The restaurant is clean. I do also really enjoy their appetizers too. Great lunch spot.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Second visit - Ordered pho tai filet. Updated menu only offers 1 type of beef pho (no brisket or meatball available) Broth is light and more clearer over here. Default thick noodle (fresh) Definitely recommend their BBH over their Pho. Place is a great choice if you want to get some food without having to wait in queues. You might get your iced tea refilled during their peak lunch hours which isn't found typically in viet establishments. Tip* A lot of dips to avoid while entering and driving through t here strip plaza.
google avatar

Jasmine P.

Yelp
Just a heads up, this place only has 1 type of pho which is the filet mignon (rare steak). They don't have any pho options so if you're looking for that specifically, DO NOT COME HERE. I've been to the Hue Oi location in Redondo Beach and was expecting them to carry the same menu items but after driving 30 minutes to come here, I was disappointed to find out that this is not a Pho spot. There is not much of a variety in beverages as well, no milk tea, only Thai tea. Very disappointed and felt like I wasted an hour driving all the way over here to be honest. This is strictly a Vietnamese cuisine, NO PHO!! If you are coming on their yelp page to browse, be aware of that! I highly suggest going down the street 5-7 minutes away to Pho Lovers.
google avatar

Naomi L.

Yelp
Not sure why there are so many negative reviews because I thought this place was great! I didn't get any pictures of the bun bo hue but it was my first time trying it and it was so good! I prefer refreshing yet flavorful soups and I think I prefer this soup over Pho. The rice dish is what I always get when I go to Vietnamese restaurants and it did not disappoint. Spring rolls and summer rolls are self explanatory since they're hard to mess up, but overall I would come back! This place is tasty and the service was nice as well. Only reason I give it 4 stars is that there wasn't a wow factor in my book, but the food is solid.
google avatar

Mich E.

Yelp
Their bun bo hue is still the best I've had. The broth has the right amount of saltiness and spice. Great balance. The Banh Khoai has an amazing crunch to it. It reminds me of Banh Xeo but way crunchier. The sauce that it comes with is peanut base, but you can request a fish sauce base if you're allergic or just prefer another one. - 1 star since the staff seem to be sick. Lots of coughing was coming from them and none of them were masked up.
google avatar

Tyler D.

Yelp
The food here is authentic Vietnamese. The restaurant is clean. The owner Ny is very nice. If you are craving Vietnamese cuisine from central Vietnam, give this place a try. I am a repeat customer.
google avatar

Ethan N.

Yelp
Best Banh Nam I've ever had. I usually come here just for banh nam but they have a lot of other good stuff here too like their Bun Bo Hue. Definitely recommend coming here, staff are friendly and very clean inside!
google avatar

Diamond L.

Yelp
My go to bun Bo bue place. I love the broth and the sate sauce. There's never a wait here and you get to sit at the booth almost all the time. I do not eat pork hock. I love their banh beo as well. It's always fresh here.
google avatar

Toni M.

Yelp
By far my favorite bun Bo hue. Fresh veggies and the flavor was on point. Place was also very clean & our server was pleasant.
google avatar

Eunice S.

Yelp
The servers are very nice and fast and the restaurant is clean and cozy. We arrived at the restaurant at 7pm for dinner and lots of the popular dishes were already sold out. We ordered iced Thai tea and it was a little bit disappointed because it was watered down. But, the other foods were great. As an appetizer, Banh Loc La/Banh Nam Combo is the best choice. One with shrimps and the other with meat covered with chewy tapioca is unique and fun to eat. Bún Tôm Thịt Nướng Chả Giò is a popular Vietnamese dish throughout Vietnam and this restaurant makes it right. The combination of the pork, shrimp, egg rolls, pickled vegetables and noodles are fantastic. Bún Bò Huế broth alone takes 8+ hours to make and it is worth to order it from here. The spicy broth and other ingredients are balanced very well. Pho Tai Filet Mignon had a deep flavor to the broth. The meat was tender and tasty. It is great for cold weather.
google avatar

Nhi L.

Yelp
Ok my fav hue food restaurant closed early today so I decided to give this place a try. Below is my experience. 1. They dont even bother to clean the seat. Had to wipe it off ourselves 2. The waiter keep jumping in mid sentence when we were ordering. Like tf? 3. There r mosquitoes everywhere 4. The bánh bèo is below standard 5. The mì xào bò is overprice and straight ass. Avoid if you can!
google avatar

Kay D.

Yelp
4.5/5 overall. Very clean place with nice staff. I got a few noodle dishes and my personal favorites Banh Beo. The bun thit nướng chả giò was ok but the egg roll was a little thick. The Bun bo hue was good - the meatball was great and tender. The thai tea needs a stronger flavor the tea was a little bland and pretty milky. If they mess up don't be afraid to tell them because the staff is very nice. Overall i'd definitely come again everything was a decent price.
google avatar

Mary Elaine C.

Yelp
Just for the bun bo hue .Tasty and all the meats were tender, the blood cake was very clean .Service was gracious and fast Careful with the side serving of hot sauce ,it is NOT sriracha . Lit me up like a Christmas tree \but it was soooo good
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
If you're seeking an authentic Vietnamese dining experience, look no further than Hue Oi. This gem of a restaurant offers a rich and flavorful menu that showcases food from the central region. The casual setting makes it both perfect for intimate dinner or large group settings. Service is fast and efficient. I got the Banh Khoai, which is a special Hue pancake made from rice flour batter and deep fried. It is thicker than banh xeo, and comes with a peanut dipping sauce, rather than fish sauce. It is delicious and crispy! Hue Oi in Fountain Valley is a standout choice for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Whether you're a fan of Vietnamese food or new to it, Hue Oi promises a delightful dining experience that will keep you coming back for more.

Yelp
Banh canh 3/5 - this was just okay. The flavor was lacking. I added some chili oil and it tasted better but still not great. Their is barely any crab meat and the shrimp balls wasn't good.. texture was rubbery. Portion was small too Bun Bo hue 3/5 - also nothing special about this and I think this is supposedly what they are known for. Broth didn't taste as flavorful as it should be Banh bot loc 2/5 - I've eaten this at other places plenty of times and this one has a lot more tapioca tough than filling and the filling also wasn't flavorful. Portion was also very small. Go somewhere else! We came on a Friday night for dinner and less than half the tables were filled so we didn't wait. But service was not good. We had a party of 6 and we were clearly still looking at the menu but the waitress kept coming and asking if we were ready and she didn't look happy. They also never came around to fill our water cups. I came a couple years ago with family and we didn't enjoy it then but my friend wanted to try so I gave it another shot but was disappointed
google avatar

Giovanni P.

Yelp
After a heavy workout this quenched my thirst and appetite ! Because the broth is well balanced. H1 and H15 . Banh xeo soo crispy with the peanut sauce yummmm ! Shout out to cooks in the back !!! https://www.instagram.com/p/C8snznIyDYP/?igsh=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==

Yelp
Food: banh beo chen & goi ga are just so so. Bun bo not meet my expectation. We eat and hang out about 1 hour and haft, the server keep checking on us. At first , we feel good when they ask if we need anything else but then it became annoying while they keep asking. The way like they want us to leave. I even check to see if the restaurant too busy or not but there are only 2 more table around 6pm and we were not loud. Not sure but feeling kind of awkward.

Yelp
I was delighted to find a place with bun bo hue and this place did not disappoint! The bad reviews are underserving as it was delicious and filling! The meats are soft and flavorful with a great broth. It definitely can be more flavorful as I've had other bun bo hue with stronger flavors. The banh beo was the highlight for me though! One of my favorite Vietnamese dishes that if you haven't had, you definitely need to. I love the added pork rinds and it was overall, extremely yummy!! Sadly the spring rolls weren't the best. Maybe it was too minty, but theirs is very leafy and somehow bland. I didn't taste the shrimp and it was dry. The peanut sauce that it came with was great though; edible on its own (coming from a big PB/peanut lover) Quick and considerate service.

Rami Z.

Yelp
This place was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The food? DISGUSTING. Everything tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. I wouldn't feed it to my worst enemy. Overcooked, flavorless, and just plain nasty. The service somehow managed to be worse than the food. The waiters were incredibly rude--acting like we were bothering them just by existing. Eye-rolls, attitude, and zero effort. One even slammed our plates down like we were in prison. The place smelled weird, it was dirty, and the vibe was straight-up depressing. I left hungry, angry, and honestly confused how this place is still in business. Save your money. Save your time. Go literally anywhere else.
google avatar

Jade L.

Yelp
I visited Hue Oi for the mi quang, and it's the best I've had in OC. The dish was flavorful, clean-tasting, and well-portioned. Yelp
Bun Bo hue is my favorite thing to get here. Staff were very nice and understanding. I ordered extra spicy and they were able to get me chili sate and sriracha on the side for me to make it spicy. Served our food very quickly. The restaurant is like any other Vietnamese shops. It's small and simple. I don't think you can go wrong with that. Bun Bo hue here is pretty good and standard like any other bun Bo hues around here. I usually order it without pork blood since that is not my cup of tea. I usually go here with my family and aunts so it is nice to come back after a while!

Ky T.

Yelp
google avatar

Carol M.

Yelp
Not sure why they only have 3 stars but their bun bo hue is probably the best I've ever had. Broth is super flavorful and comes piping hot, and I love the meatball thingies they include in the bowl (not sure exactly what they're called). It wasnt too busy when we went at around 3:30 on a Sunday and service was good.
google avatar

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Ordered take out because I was craving some bun bo hue and banh canh cua and bun thit nuong special. Food was ready relatively quickly. This was the closest location with these options-- wasn't in the mood to drive too far. Overall, the food was good and I say that loosely because I know there are many restaurants with similar options out there. Prices have increased for sure and I'm not sure if it represents what I was getting especially the Banh canh cua-- it looked kind of sad tbh. Just not a lot going on in the bowl. Not what I'm used to seeing and eating for Banh canh. It wasn't hearty. More broth than noodles and like four little shrimp balls and hardly any crab. Bun thit nuong fav special was adequate -- can't get this simple dish wrong anywhere. And if a restaurant does, then that's not a good sign. It's one of those safe to order dishes if you're not feeling noodles. Bun Bo hue wasn't bad! I appreciated that they had all of the authentic fixings packed. Gave me a lot of noodles. Broth was rich and flavorful. I'd order again next time and skip the Banh Canh cua.

Yelp
Came in and our party of 3 was immediately seated in a booth. Plenty of parking in this spacious lot. We got our order taken quickly. You can also order in English for my white-washed friends. They'll know what you're talking about i.e. remove the blood please. We ordered 2 orders of Banh Beo and 1 Com Ga Nuong Plate. The Banh Beo was soft without being too chewy. The shrimp, greens, and etc were all fresh. It had good flavor. My sister was worried about the chicken looking healthy but if this is what healthy food tastes like then I'll have some more. The chicken was moist and not dry at all. It had good flavor. The broken rice with the nuoc mam was delicious. Sound travels in the restaurant so we were hostages to a conversation from a table of college students unfortunately. The service was good. Someone came to our table twice for water refills which was a nice change from just being ignored after your food arrives at other Viet restaurants. I like that there's hand sanitizer on the way out which I got a glop of. I'll definitely return in the future!
google avatar

Vance N.

Yelp
Overall has some great Hue dishes that will satisfy any of your parent's cravings. I myself am no expert in central Vietnam cuisine but I appreciate a good bowl Bun bo hue. Inside is spacious and there is plenty of parking available, and staff was attentive. Pretty solid choice for Vietnamese food!
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
Came here with friends to try and now I am taking my wife there next time. Banh beo Chen- a dozen tiny plates of rice cake, dried shrimp, crispy pork skin. So delicate and tasty. It's a great combination of flavor and pairs well with vietnamese coffee Bun bo hue - just so delicious, that broth is amazing, perfect for winter time Spring roll and egg roll - can never go wrong with these two in a viet restaurant Definitely recommend to go and try with friends and loved ones.
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
Well I think Pho is the heart of Vietnamese food. Here the bad part, they put MSG and use bad oil. Food tasted bomb! But up all night can't sleep high blood pressure. So sad I won't be back. I wish Vietnamese place would use better healthy ingredients. Service was good Place looked clean and nice.
google avatar

Guru H.

Yelp
Why does the site say they many vegetarian options when there aren't any? The waitress flat out said they have nothing. The portions were small and it was quite expensive. The banh beo was undercooked. Really disappointing.
google avatar

Omar R.

Yelp
The food wasn't good, and my water cup was dirty . It had red lip stick on the cup but couldn't take a pic of it because they switched it right away.
google avatar

Katherine P.

Yelp
Decided to give a new place a try for our favorites, Bun Bo Hue and Banh Beo. I have mixed feelings about this place, so I'll list out the pros and cons. Pro: 1) Clean & Modern 2) Lots of parking 3) Iced tea was delicious, had a nice subtle flower note 4) Fresh ingredients Con: 1) Small portion for price compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in Westminster 2) Service - we went on a Monday, not too many customers, but only saw the waiter once, we had to flag staff down to ask for a refill on our drink. 3) Soup was not hot, I recommend asking the waiter to hold the soup if you plan on getting an appetizer (banh beo). This place is okay if you're local and need a quick fix for Vietnamese food. Since we're prominently in Westminster, I personally wouldn't drive out of my way to come here.
google avatar

Yen N.

Yelp
Personally for me, I was not a fan. Nothing that we ate hit the spot. I wish they had condiments on the tables for me to remix the dish to my liking. No fish sauce to dip my meat in, no shrimp paste or sate to make it more dank. No sriracha to add to the fish sauce, they give you those fake sambal togo packet (yes only one) to add to your dish. My soup spoon had a bunch of lettuce stuck to it. It looked like they used it to make my garish plate then just threw it in my utensil caddy. The inside of the restaurant looks new and clean. The restroom however was atrocious.
google avatar

Kristie N.

Yelp
Came here because I heard nothing but good things about this place. Eh, it's mediocre at best, nothing extraordinary or amazing. Freshly squeezed orange juice is good and the broth of the bun bo hue is great but other than that, eh. Blood tofu was missing in one of our dishes and portions are really small. They did not have siracha or hoisin sauce readily available, you have to keep asking for packets. Everything just felt like it was missing the mark.

Alexander V.

Yelp
Good food, Ok service The food was authentic and tasty. Service was ok, it seemed that the server was a little impatient and wanted us to order sooner. Ambience was good
google avatar

Axel C.

Yelp
Service - okay. Cleanliness - questionable. Food - bland. I was excited to try this place out since you can't go wrong with Vietnamese food on Garden Grove - well, I was wrong. The Mi Quang was water - needed more tomato paste. The Spring Rolls needed more meat - it was as if you're just eating lettuce. The Banh Beo was way too chewy. Some people like this type of food but it's not for me. But I always try things at least once.
