"The magnificent view and the chic interior make Hugos, laid out on the 14thfloor of the InterContinental hotel, a highly appealing location in the capital. Soft lighting, elegant furnishings and candlelight make for a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Chef Eberhard Lange's culinary creations more than live up to the attractive setting: in his eight-course set menu (which can be reduced to six courses), he showcases his precise technical skill with classic dishes which he sets off with a modern twist. You are sure to find the perfect accompaniment on the wine list, which comprises around 500 labels. Tip: treat yourself to an aperitif at the bar before dinner." - Michelin Inspector

The best birthday present I could have hope for. Amazing attention to detail, warm atmosphere and expert staff. A unique experience. Each bite was full of impressive flavour. Like eating a masterpiece.

The strength of Hugos is to serve consistent perfection, while avoiding the pitfalls of experimental tastes that lead to two stars for a very few, but for a not quite perfect evening for many others. None of the 6 dishes had any flaws, and the selection of wines that go with them varied and a good combination. Their bread... a frustration that I don't have such a delight every day!

Was a bit of a bumpy start as I had informed my husband was vegetarian and I did not eat veal and both was not considered until I reminded them. Could not have 8 course menu as they only do a six for vegetarian. Husband sat without a drink for 45 minutes as only I wanted champagne, no alternative offered and no wine list brought until we asked. After that everything went smoothly, food was lovely. Champagne was €31 for a small glass and water €12 for 75cl, most I remember paying and I am fortunate to have eaten in over 100 Michelin restaurants. The view is great over the city and perhaps we just had an unlucky start so would give a try if you like nice food with a view and are in Berlin

From the moment I first started communicating with Hugos it was a five star experience. Communicating with Nicolas was a smooth, and enlightening experience while we navigated my reservation. Skip to months later, I arrived to Hugos and from the moment my boyfriend and I walked in it was as if we were being treated as royalty. I didn't once touch a door handle as they would always beat me to it and hold the door open, they paid great attention to the details (in a way I never could've fathomed). From intentionally pulling out my chair and replacing my napkin when I would stand up, to the artistry of every dish we had. It was more than I could have imagined, truly. The wine pairing was magnificent and every description given to us was an exact replication of the flavors in the wines. Each course that came out had perfect dimension and layers along with a fine attention to detail. Some flavors I never knew existed. By the end of the meal I felt as though Nicolas and his team felt like family by the interaction and the comfort in the atmosphere. I would hands down recommend this experience to anyone and I will be returning when I return to Berlin once again. With the price tag you may be a bit wary but this is much more than a restaurant, it's a fully immersive experience. Thank you.

Very exciting experience at Hugos restaurant. Since the very first moment you step in the restaurant located at the 14th floor of the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin (the elevator is located on the left side of the lobby) you will be able to enjoy the excellent service of the staff working at the restaurant. The 6 courses menu was simply delicious and the creativity of the Chef will make you enjoy new tastes. Nice atmosphere and definitely one of the best restaurants in Berlin.

Incredible culinary experience. The mix of taste, quality and perfect service makes the price completely in line with the overall experience.

We had the 6-course tasting menu paired with wine. They cook food seriously, and what’s more highlighting is the wine pairing and sommeliere, we enjoy his professional explanation very much.

Fantastic set dinner paired with great wines and excellent service. Deserves its accolades for one of the best French options in Berlin.

Yelp
When visiting other countries, I like to see if there are any Michelin rated restaurants in any of the cities I might be in. On my recent trip to Germany, Hugos in Berlin was highly recommended to me by a close friend. My experience was phenomenal, from the service and expertise on the food and wine pairings to the views of the city. The restaurant is located at the top of the InterContinental Berlin hotel, serving French and Mediterranean fare in a coursed style experience. You can opt for 4, 6 or 8 courses, and add wine pairings to each of the courses. If you'd prefer, they can prepare a larger portion of some of the courses for just one main entree. We opted for the 8 course with wine pairing. The whole experience took around 3 hours, but we were certainly taking our time and enjoying every bite! With 8 courses I was definitely full, but keep in mind this is much more about art and flavor profiles than it is large portions. If you have any questions they are more than happy to help answer them, and the sommelier explains the wine pairings in as much detail as you prefer. As you can imagine, the menu changes frequently, but I will share what I had in June of 2019. I'd HIGHLY recommend Hugo's for a unique experience you won't forget!

Yelp
Beautiful setting, faultless execution, and lovely lovely servers. Unforgettable. 8 course meal that guarantees to wow and surprises with each dish. I loved that. How ingredients like parsnip, peas, pickled gherkin and horseradish, though familiar, transformed the dishes in unexpected ways. While components as rapeseed oil, linseed and buckhorn, though less familiar, infused the mains in interesting yet recognizable flavors. One dish, for me, that perfectly highlighted the familiar with the delightfully unfamiliar was the mieral pigeon. So beautifully done.

Yelp
Attention to every detail made this such a special dining experience. I had the four courses with the wine pairing. I particularly loved the latter -- the explanation of how the wine would work with each course. I was genuinely surprised by some of the flavors and textures in this meal -- that is, no doubt, a compliment. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Spectacular. Just...spectacular! We were lucky to get a reservation on the same day, which happened to be a gloriously sunny day in Berlin, and giving us a spectacular evening view of the city. From the moment of our arrival, the warm & friendly service never stopped. The team at Hugo's were wonderful: fun, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very, very professional. Then the food...I simply can't rave enough about it! Stunning, delicious, extremely creative, and just...awesome. See my pictures. I had the 5-course dinner. The wine list was extensive, with a sensible range of options. The sommelier was also spot-on (of course!) If you are in Berlin, you would be doing yourself a great disservice by not going!

Yelp
This was my first Michelin star experience so I was looking forward to everything that they had to offer. First of all please note that Hugos is in the Intercontinental Hotel at the top floor. The address can be a little confusing if traveling by taxi. We chose the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The first appetizer that arrived was a sampling plate that I enjoyed. The bread selection (pretzel, potato & onion were my favorite). The Sommelier (Manfred Welter) was absolutely amazing. The pairings complemented each individual dish perfectly. Manfred even went out of his way when it came to one of the wines that I did not enjoy. We chose Menu I, 4- Course Menu. The Octopus & Burrata took me back to my time when I lived in Greece off of the coast. Perfectly grilled and nowhere near rubbery. My favorite dish was the Canadian lobster. The flavor, texture made my taste buds jump up and dance. Then came the Milk-fed veal dish that was amazing. It was so succulent. I couldn't eat the Brussel sprouts but if you like them they are plenty. We had a pre-dessert of a chocolate cone with ice cream (vanilla bean) inside. It reminded me of a birthday hat based on the presentation. This I wish was my last memory but the Coconut & Almond was the final dish on the tasting menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the dish until I came to the last piece which was the brittle. The brittle to me was burnt and left a horrible taste in my mouth. I couldn't drink enough water/wine to clear my palette. This was by far the low point of my meal. Manfred went to the kitchen and tried to help pinpoint what the taste I had experienced but couldn't. We did get an after dinner/dessert of petit fours and coffee. The meal overall got better and better after every dish until I got to the brittle. You always remember how you start and how you finish and I can't let the finish go. I would love to give a 5 star but I can't and since yelp does not have 1/2 stars I have to give 4 stars.

Yelp
If money is burning a hole in your pocket, or if you must impress someone, then Hugo's is as good a place as one can find to help you part with your money. Mind you, they do it in such a nice way that you may even not notice, as the service is impeccable, the views over Berlin and the general ambience is great and Thomas Kammeier follows perfectly Gary Rhodes' simple concept of allowing fine ingredients to do the talking. The restaurant is located at the top of the Inter-Continental Hotel, and offers lovely views over Berlin, especially during sunset. The initial impression is that the place is rather long but the tables are spread out elegantly along the long glass windows and offered adequate privacy. The food is very good, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, but one gets the impression that it is almost too perfect. What I mean to say is that, every dish is superbly well-cooked but somehow, a few dishes lacked the drama of an unexpected spice or the nuances of an interesting herb. But this is NOT a criticism - it is just that every dish just tasted exactly as I expected, which is no bad thing, although I would not have minded a bit more of a culinary adventure. Anyway, I think the degustation menu was somewhere around 220 Euro, but you do get a lot of dining for that, and I can recommend it heartily, as long as your expense account can bear it! By the way, this was voted the Restaurant of the Year in Berlin some time ago, and standards have not dropped. It also has at least one Michelin star and was also the Best Trend Restaurant in Germany, whatever that means. If 220 Euro does not scare you off, then you can also consider the Vitrum in the Ritz-Carlton, where they have a new cook who I will check out next time I am in Berlin.

Yelp
Hugos is excellent. Can compete with best restaurants in Paris and San Francisco.

Yelp
Leckeres Essen, gute Auswahl und alles gut zubereitet. Die Blumenkolhsuppe war nicht gut gewürzt, ansonsten war alles gut. Hab allerdings schon besseres gegessen in der Preisklasse!
