This location of Hugo’s is so cute! The decor of the restaurant is such a vibe. Their food presentation is a unique twist on Latin cuisine and is tasty. Their ceviche and panela appetizers were so good. I ordered the salmon dish for entree and it was really good as well. The only downside of the restraint is the noise level. It was extremely loud so it was hard to have a conversation, but our group still enjoyed the evening. I’d definitely recommend the tres leches and flan desserts if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth craving!

We were gifted a gift card and decided to use it for our date night. However, it could not be used at this location. 😕 It was explained that their gift card system had not been setup due to them being open at this location for only 4 months. So, we'll have to visit the other location for another date night... The redesign of this location is very sexy! The changes set a great ambiance, and the live music was awesome. Our waitress was great and very knowledgeable of the dishes. The food didn't make you feel "heavy" and was seasoned well. We ordered the Pork Belly Chicharrón for an appetizer. It was flavorful, but there was more pork fat than meat. The slight crunch of the meat was wonderful, and the sauce seemed smoky, but it worked. We ordered the Brussel Spourts with chorizo, which was delicious and inspired me to make this for our upcoming Thanksgiving meal😉, and the Roasted Garlic Broccolin, which was delicious as well. Our main courses were the Green Salsa Chicken tacos and the Beef Sirloin enchiladas. The tacos were pretty good, but without my extra salsa, they would have been a little dry. The poblano-corn rice had a good flavor as well but could have been warmer. My husband enjoyed his enchiladas and said the meat was tender and full of flavor. We had the Blueberry Smash, Grilled Pineapple, and frozen margaritas..all delicious. We'll definitely plan a trip to Las Colinas to use our gift card for our next date night, but I won't be driving... Those drinks hit the spot!😋

Google
Such a nice aesthetic place to visit if you are craving Mexican food! The decoration/vibe is so nice- very tropical like. I ordered Chilaquiles with morita sauce and they really surprised me because they were so good! The dish comes with eggs, I just decided to remove them. I also order one of their brunch special drinks: purple sangria! Such a pretty and tasty drink. Try if you can! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Stopped in for an early dinner this past weekend. Our first time eating at this location. The service & food was excellent!! The red snapper ceviche was outstanding! The quinoa chocolate cake was amazing!! You need to try this place!

Google
Nice refresh to where Mi Cocina used to be. Like the new layout inside and love the patio areas outside. Nice variety of apps and mains. Drinks were really good we tried several. There can be parking on Mckinney or the parking garage. You can make reservations in advance which can be helpful on the weekends. Will took great care of us. Cant wait to clme back

Google
The atmosphere was awesome! The food was ok, but nothing I tried made me say I want to come back. The bathroom was disgusting (stinky and dirty). One of the stalls had no toilet paper and the other stall had several rolls which were all on the floor.

Google
So eager to try out and see what replaced mi Cocina in West village. Went to Hugo's, and while the food was tasty, the ambiance, the energy, everything was completely dead and flat. With relatively few people in the restaurant it seemed like they were still rushing around trying to take care of everybody, with the bartenders having to run out from behind the bar to get to the people of the tables meaning that the people at the bar had to wait. They have an extraordinarily good mescal list, but mi Cocina was better.

Great place for a date in West Village. Got the CBD Margarita and Grilled Pineapple Margarita. Nice drinks and great selection of Tequila. Ceviche for appetizer. Ordered shrimp taco and grilled salmon. Both were great. Server recommended peach capirotada and it was delicious.

Yelp
This restaurant was located in West Village, making it convenient to squeeze in some shopping either before or after your meal. There's parking available in designated lots in front of various stores or garage parking. The entire dining experience was a vibe. I love their botanical decor with foliage, flowers, and branches. In the restroom, they were also playing bird sounds/chirping. Customers can dine inside, outside the patio, or sit at the bar. I love that they have a private dining area to accommodate large parties as well. Complimentary chips were so crispy, crunchy, and freshly baked. I liked their house-blend green salsa since there was a hint of heat in it. They had a nice selection of organic margaritas. You also have the option to convert those into virgin drinks, particularly for the grilled pineapple and cucumber-serrano. I enjoyed my grilled pineapple margarita - refreshing and fruity. Alright, let's talk food now. *Pork belly chicharron: Woahhhhh!!! This appetizer was amazing. The meat was so juicy and tender- all the flavors in one bite. I highly recommend getting this. *Wagyu carne asada: This was so worth it! The steak had a nice crust. The meat was marinated well, flavorful, and tender. Pairing the meat with a great salsa with some spice made it one of their top dishes. *Chicken tomatillo enchiladas: I love that their house-made corn tortilla. The lemongrass rice complimented the dish perfectly. Typically, enchilada dishes are very heavy for me, but this was so delicious and I was able to finish most of it in one sitting. Overall, service was excellent and attentive. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy great food.

Yelp
I visited this establishment on Cinco de Mayo, enticed by the promise of several specials to celebrate the occasion. However, my experience left much to be desired. I ordered a margarita, hoping for a refreshing and authentic beverage. Unfortunately, what I received tasted like a margarita mix devoid of any alcohol. It was a disappointment, to say the least. To make matters worse, my server seemed to vanish at one point, only for me to later realize that she and several other servers were simply hanging out at the bar. The chips served to accompany the meal were stale, lacking the desired freshness and crunch. This further added to the overall dissatisfaction of the visit. To my surprise, the establishment announced an early closure at 5 pm, citing a lack of food. This lack of organization and planning left a sour taste in my mouth. Given the disorganized nature of this location and the numerous disappointments encountered, I have no desire to return in the future.

Yelp
I used to visit this restaurant for work dinners pre-pandemic, so I was nostalgic visiting this past weekend and the food was equally delicious. I tend to overdue it on the chips and salsa, but it's worth it here. The verde tastes so refreshing and is my favorite! First, we started with the panela! It was so delicious! It comes with a few corn tortillas to make little cheese tacos. Ask for a few more tortillas. You'll want more. I ordered the salmon for my meal and it was good. I ordered a side a veggies because the salmon was just salmon and a bit of rice and beans. The one con which is why I gave it four stars is the price. I guess because it frequently visited pre-pandemic, I remember the prices being a bit more reasonable. Prices have definitely increased and I wasn't that prepared. One interesting note when you enter the restaurant: they have decorated manikins posted throughout the restaurant that freaked me out at first, but adds charm. Apparently, these manikins popped up during the pandemic to encourage social distancing and the owners kept them.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy at all! My mom and I sat at the bar and ordered while watching tv and chatting. We placed our order for the vegan pancakes and the egg Benedict and it arrived in about 15 minutes. Food was really fresh and I ordered a blueberry smash as well. I was told they don't use syrups for their drinks they have an organic bar where they make everything fresh from fruit. So he used a blueberry purée and it was amazing! I'd for sure come back again.

Yelp
I went to Hugos on a Monday night with low expectations from, yet, another new Mexican restaurant in West Village. And boy, Hugos exceeded my expectations. My friend and I ordered the grilled octopus to share as an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised with its size and presentation. It was basically an octopus steak with delicious trimmings and tortilla shells. I am still thinking about it, weeks after our visit. For dinner, we split the Mozzarella Tomato Cactus Salad and the salmon. The salad had some unique flavors and the salmon was cooked to a perfect medium--just slightly pink on the inside. I found Hugo's concept pretty cool--clean and healthy Mexican food on the fancier side. I'm definitely looking forward to returning and trying more items on their menu.

Yelp
The five stars are for the ambience, from the moment we stepped on the sidewalk it is absolutely gorgeous perfect place for Friday night drinks with your girls or that special date night with your boo. Now this is a Mexican restaurant so oddly enough I ordered the lamb chops with garlic broccolini and roasted red potatoes .The food was absolutely divine lamb chops could've used a little salt but in combination with everything else on the plate it was amazing. Also had a whiskey berry which was so delicious.

Yelp
Now through August 31st , get 10% OFF your bill if you give your server code HANGRY10! It's valid only at the West Village location and not valid with other promotions like happy hour and such. If you haven't been to Hugo's, they have delicious Latin cuisine and cocktails. The restaurant is beautifully decorated on the inside. They also have a large outdoor patio and a fun swing. Drinks The Cucumber Serrano Margarita is one of my favorite drinks there. There's a little bit of a spicy kick in it. I'm also a fan of the frozen margarita/frozen sangria swirl , which is perfect for the hot Dallas weather. Food My favorite are the pork belly chicharron and the Cochinita Pibil (braised pork shank). The meat is so soft and just melts in your mouth. The smoked salmon nachos are amazing as well.

Yelp
Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 2/5 ---- I must not have gotten the right things because after all of these good reviews, I was surprised at just how disappointed I was. Came here for a brunch date the other day. Sat quickly, cute interior. It was very cold outside but for some reason the inside was also very cold, I had to keep my winter jacket on basically the whole time. You can order off the brunch or the lunch menu on the weekends, and we chose to get the wagyu carne asada and the chipotle shrimp tacos. My biggest gripe is that everything was so salty. Like my tongue was tingling from how salty it was. Not enough to justify sending it back, and I could still eat it of course, but wow it was not my vibe. My boyfriend agreed and usually he has a much higher salt tolerance than me. The carne asada was also cooked very unevenly, we ordered medium rare and only about half of the pieces were that, the rest probably more medium well even. Chipotle shrimp tacos were fine aside from also being on the salty side. First time I've ever eaten all the rice on a taco plate to help tone everything done. A lot of people have mentioned the complimentary chips here but I was not a fan, they were unevenly cooked so some were super hard/stale and less than half were a good consistency. Lastly we were also a little disappointed because though it was brunch time, the kitchen had not prepped the juices for mimosas and we were told it would be another hour until it was ready. I will say, our server was very nice and suggested the lunch chicken dish and a few other items on the brunch menu which we did not order, so I would recommend you try those instead of what we ordered.

Yelp
Hugo's Invitados is a really cute restaurant and the service is good, but the food was nothing to write home about. I came here on Saturday night and sat at the bar. The ambiance of the restaurant transports you to another place. Kudos to the designer. I ordered the beef tenderloin enchiladas with a side of brussels sprouts. I was surprised to see brussels sprouts on the menu so decided to give them a whirl. Both dishes were bland in my opinion. The beef was well prepared and tender but the dish itself lacked flavor. I've had better brussels sprouts anywhere else. They added chorizo to it but it really didn't have any flavor. I was bored eating both dishes, but was hungry and wanted to get my money's worth so I kept eating. The meal was not worth the high price ($59 before tip for both dishes and two drinks). It's possible that I just ordered the wrong items, but the menu here is pretty high so I'm not in a rush to return to try something else and potentially be disappointed again. I would file this restaurant in the category of a cute place to get a drink before or after you eat somewhere else.

Yelp
This restaurant blew me away! Organic, fresh ingredients with Mexican influence. Impeccable service and the best vibes! Lots of options for gluten free/vegetarians too! Every drink and dish was crafted perfectly. It's hard to pick a favorite but glad I didn't skip dessert! Can't wait to go back and try more!

Yelp
This place is surprisingly good, I would probably stop by here again if I'm in the west village area. They claim to use only the freshest ingredients, nothing from can or packaged. We got the breakfast casserole and the seafood enchiladas, big portions. They have mouth wash in the bathroom which I think is nice.

Yelp
My friends and I had dinner on a Thursday night. First off, the restaurant is beautiful along with the patio area. We were seated quickly and given an overview of the restaurant, cocktails, and food. Service was excellent. I am not a big Mexican food eater at all however, I ordered the brisket tacos with the poblano rice and beans. It came with 2 decent sized tacos and sides. Everything was really good and flavorful. I was presently surprised due not being a fan of the cuisine. For the price they need to add another taco, but I enjoyed the dish. My friends had chicken and beef enchiladas and they enjoyed their dishes as well. Very cute spot. Def worth a visit!

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience here for dinner on a Friday night. Who knew such a hidden gem was lurking in the streets of West Village! Upon entering the restaurant, you're completely immersed in the environment (might I add - rainforest soundtrack in the restrooms)?! My boyfriend and I kept getting the exciting feeling that we were exploring a new city, but just in the comforts of Dallas! Phenomenal service; the kindest people who genuinely love the food and what they do. We received wonderful recommendations and had a fantastic time all around. All of the dishes we ordered were so flavorful and had a great Spanish fusion mix. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pulpo, but it was honestly a difficult choice to just choose a few things on such a great menu. We'll definitely be back soon to try more options!
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Hugo's we had the shrimp tacos and the snapper. The snapper and the shrimp were both cooked perfectly. I had the spicy guava margarita, it was excellent. The ambiance is delightful.

Yelp
Heads up- They are closed down for good! We found out when we showed up to the restaurant for a birthday celebration and the doors were locked, even though we had made a reservation a couple days before.
google avatar

Ebony E.

Yelp
Talk about a unique menu! With so many options, and being vegan focused! I loved everything I ordered. The flavor were bold and harmonious! Kept me wanting to try more. The drink menu was great to I for sure liked the CBD Rita full body flavors, balanced. I will be back. Our server was sure to explain the menu items and give suggestions. The venue is picture worth many photo ops inside and out. Get cute and give them a try. They can accommodate large parties well.

Yelp
I saw this place a few weeks ago on Yelp and wanted to try it out. Didn't realize this was the old location for Mi Cocina in west village. I actually love how they remodeled this place, it feels more lively and welcoming. Right when we walked in this place already had a cool vibe. Feels like you're outside but you're inside. A lot of amazing decors inside and out. So we went ahead and ordered some drinks. Lá Patada, refreshing mezcal with pineapple and Tropical. Both good. Then for our starters the server recommended "Pork Belly Chicharron" so it comes with tortillas which I recommend eating it as a Taco. So Good! Definitely recommend! Then we ordered our entrees, Chilean sea bass and Cowboy Al Pastor "Steak". The Chilean sea bass, WOW really really good! The fish is already marinated from the inside with a sweet flavor to it. Loved it! Highly recommend! The Cowboy Al Pastor was ok but a little dry. Wish they seasoned it a little bit better though. Over all I really enjoyed this restaurant I would definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

Yelp
This is the perfect place for a date night (or to meet a date haha). It's colorful, fun, great ambiance and a really fantastic bar. The food is really the star of the show however. A true paradise for foodies. I have been here many times and enjoyed everything so far, this time we had: mulato chile-marinated pork tomahawk Scallops with Corn Trufa piloncillo-glazed chilean sea bass
google avatar

Sienna B.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Great posole and all the appetizers were phenomenal. This place is upscale Mexican food and I don't believe it Tex mex. Definitely warrants a visit! We had a great server who explained multiple items on the menu. Stop by the bar before dinner and grab yourself a specialty drink!

Yelp
Stopped in on a whim to get a drink after running errands in the area (about 5pm on a Tuesday) and sat at the bar. I ordered the top shelf margarita which was excellent. I then tried the house margarita since it was happy hour ($5), the drop in quality was more dramatic than expected, but obviously understandable. It took approximately 25 minutes for the octopus appetizer to be brought out (halfway through the second drink). The octopus was visibly charred but it still looked promising. Unfortunately it was burn to the point that it was like eating a piece of charcoal. The most unfortunate part was the mashed potatoes which tasted good, but were ice cold. After one bite of octopus and one bite of mashed potatoes I asked for the check and left. The bartender was very attentive the entire time and managed the area well as new customers arrived. After a long day it was easier to pay and leave than to express the disappointment in the food. The decor and ambiance were stunning, but it is difficult to get past how bad the top priced appetizer was. I could recommend enjoying the bar for one of the higher end drinks, but would not feel comfortable risking money on the food menu.
google avatar

Nilay C.

Yelp
I loved Cucumber -Serrano cocktail which is a refreshing drink with a kick of chili. I ate Smoked Brisket Tacos and it was above average. I would have liked it if the sauce was juicer. Their chips and green sauce is very delicious. Ambiance and service is very good.

Yelp
Hugo's in West Village is such an inviting restaurant! Absolutely pic worthy! They have a huge outdoor patio that will be amazing to chill with friends and family when it gets cooler. They sure did WOW us with their Chilean Sea Bass! This dish is BEAUTIFUL & DELICIOUS! This dish itself is so worth a visit! The Flan is very unique served warm, but don't let that leer you away, it was such a delightful sweet dessert without being too sweet but just right! Hugo's craft cocktails are sweet & spicy. Made from fresh organic ingredients, leaves you wanting more! Add a shot of smooth Lalo Tequila and get the party started right! ** Tropical (sweet) Zephyr gin, fresh lemon and guava juice, & agave ** La Patada Chipotle-infused ilegal mezcal, cilantro, fresh lime and pineapple juice, & agave ** .99 cent Mini Margarita (sangria & traditional) ** Lalo Tequila Shots ** Smoked Salmon Nachos Herbal avocado puree, smoked salmon, mango relish & mango- habanero yogurt ** Chilean Sea Bass Jerez and piloncillo-glazed chilean sea bass with red cabbage casserole, turkey bacon, peppers, yellow corn, & yellow bell-banana pepper couli - Lamb Chuletas grilled australian lamb chops with roasted garlic broccolini, marbled potatoes, & pasilla lamb jus ** Blue Cornbread Flan House-made blue cornbread flan with corn mousse ** by our favs! Great service, delicious dishes, yummy drinks, and outdoor patio they have you covered! If you haven't been to this location in West Village you definitely need to!

Yelp
Went for Brunch with my mom. She got the chicken enchiladas off the lunch menu and I got the egg and chorizo enchiladas from the brunch menu. My enchiladas had a very loose salsa on top that didn't have much flavor.. I'm used to enchiladas having richer sauces. My side of black beans tasted burnt. Aside from the food, the restaurant itself is beautiful. Most of the reviews I've seen were all about the dinner menu though, so maybe the food is better. Service was also pretty slow. Not sure I'll return.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
The service was heinous and our server kept our card for 15 (+) minutes. He had it so long that we got charged by our Uber because we weren't able to leave due to waiting so long for us to get our card back.

Yelp
This place is top notch!! We have celiac and felt completely safe eating their gluten free items (not to mention the majority of the menu is gf!!) It is clean, good quality food that does not sacrifice flavor! We started with the grilled pineapple margaritas -- amazing! Then shared the ceviche fresco which was tender, fresh, and flavorful. And finished with the wagyu carne asada. SO SO GOOD. Tender meat, great grill flavor, and the vegetables complement it perfectly. The enchilada that comes with the carne asada is simple but delicious. We wanted to get dessert, but just had not saved room. We will definitely be back, again and again!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wagu and enchilada, delish !! Not your typical Mexican food. The design of this place alone creates great atmosphere. I had a paloma and pineapple margarita.. drinks also delish ! The food is very creative mix or traditional Mexican with upscale culinary twist. Best part is the staff , very pleasant and quick to refill drinks, chips and offer suggestions . 5 stars Bravo Hugo !!
google avatar

Alexandra M.

Yelp
This place is so nice !! I like how it is decorated. We went for lunch during the week and it was pretty empty. The food and drinks were delicious. Will definitely be going back in a non-rainy day so we can sit in the patio.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't sleep on their salads! They're all so good and the salmon is cooked perfectly. Super nice staff and love the outdoor seating with cute lil lamps on the tables. Also love the mini margs for 99 cents during lunch.

Yelp
Latin cuisine in Dallas.., I expected mediocre, but what I received was anything but. I let Angeleno guide me through the menu... maybe I left him. But we settled on what I thought might be a disaster- shrimp tacos. Please hear me on this, it was really good. The micro greens were the star, when at the last moment you've tasted it and POP, the micro green releases and brings it all together. The black beans and cilantro rice gave perfect textural and supportive flavor relevance to the meal. For Dallas, the prequel was a unique and really beautiful take on chips and salsa. West Village had its day in the sun, but Hugo's brings a bright new reason to come back. I'm happy and that is a big win.

Yelp
The carne asada was so tender and juicy and everything was so flavorful! The music and ambiance was so nice and fun!

Yelp
If you order the market place fish dinner, this is what you get for $51. Food took forever after ordering it. We got there at 6:45 and checked out around 9. Taking our food home because we were tired and ready to be home.

Yelp
Finally went here after hearing all of the great reviews! I went with a friend for dinner. Definitely lived up to the reviews! Also love that it is located in West Village.

Yelp
Another fabulous girls' day at Hugo's Invitados new West Village location in Dallas! Had SUCH a fabulous time trying out the brunch menu, 10/10 recommend for your next Dallas adventure!! 5 Stars every time!! What we ordered: Drinks: - CBD Margaritas (this is what we started with & it was DELIGHT - so fresh, light, & the perfect way to start a day out) - Spicy Oaxaca (*HUGO'S STAPLE*) - Cucumber Serrano (fresh & light with a little kick) - Añejo Bravo (*Fan Fav - if you're a fan of the flaming tequila version of an old fashioned, this is the Smokey treat for you!!) - Grilled Pineapple (the taste is VERY natural & the grilled pineapple garnish is fab) - Todo Día Rosé (Rosé all day, bebe - super cute & bubbly treat) - Burrito Fiestero Mezcal Joven (shots chilled & dressed) Appetizer: - Barbacoa (bigger than it looks - SOOO tender/perfectly marinated & we are obsessed with the minitortillas) Entrees: - Huevos Benedict with Salmon - Egg White Crackling - Octopus a la Parrilla (BEST item on the menu we've tried so far - seriously, do your tastebuds a favor & treat yourself to this when you visit!!!!) We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Brunch was not great. Ordered Cafe de la Olle, got what looked and tasted like a latte. Chilaquiles were bland

Yelp
This place was just as I expected! Found it on tik tok and loved the vibe and music here! With a pretty bar. Everything was excellent form the tortilla chicken soup to the steak to the dessert. Although don't really think the tacos were good. The fresh chips and salsa we couldn't stop eating. The bread pudding dessert was amazing will definitely come back to try other options. Definitely recommend the fresh juices as well if you don't drink.

Lilian L.

Yelp
Food was ok, the only comment I would have is that the ceviche tasted completely bland, which was a bummer. It is hard for a ceviche to be that bland, disappointing. The restaurant is decorated very vibrantly, which we liked, but it was extremely loud. Service was great. I would maybe go back to give it another try, not sure though.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're at the bar ask for Jaime. Ask for mezcal drinks because that he's specialty. Never has he ever disappointed us. He has a special attention to his guest and knows his drinks. On the serving side, ask for Paulina. She made sure that our normal outing became so special and made sure we were taking care of. She knew her dishes and suggested the best dishes to try. This restaurant has the food and the staff to make it successful. @iivangogh

Riley L.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 8 people on Monday. Received a confirmation text the day of the reservation at 10:42 am and when my group arrived, they told us they weren't honoring reservations. On cinco de Mayo. As of the morning of.... Yet they confirmed my reservation the morning of. Makes sense. If you're going to cancel all of your reservations on cinco de Mayo, you would think that warning your customers would be the first step.
google avatar

Haley C.

Yelp
Ambiance is 10/10, however it gets very loud inside so that is something to keep in mind if you are wanting a quiet dinner. Food and drinks were above average but nothing to rave over. I would come back, great for groups!
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
So cute! They totally transformed the space from the previous Mi Cocina. The bar area, main entrance, and patio are especially cool -- you feel like you're being transported somewhere outside of Dallas! The food was incredible. Everything is fresh, not fried. And a majority of the menu is GF as well. I got the Waygu Carne Asada and it was perfect. Super tender. Came with a small enchilada on the side. I tried the elote which was really good as well. I got a cucumber Serrano margarita that was delicious! Really light and refreshing -- not too spicy. It's made with agave rather than sugar so it didn't give you that gut rot feeling a lot of margs give. Service was great! Truly my only complaint is the Josie level. The flooring is concrete now so it echoes and everything is just really loud. Fine if you're in a group and that's the vibe you're going for, but wouldn't recommend if you're looking for an intimate date night. Patio might be quieter if it's not too hot to sit outside. Will totally come back!

Yelp
Oh my gosh!! This may be my new favorite restaurant in Dallas!! EVERYTHING I had was AMAZING!! ... the red salsa is the Best I've ever had!!! (And I'm a bit of a Tex-Mex aficionado!!) The drinks were Fresh! & Potent!! & Delicious!! And the servers make you feel like you are the most important person in the room!! ... The Passion and Attention to Detail that has gone into every nuance of this place is Palatable!! ... You Owe it to Yourself to check this place out!!!

Yelp
Great food! Prices where a little steep, but definitely a great date spot. Great location next to other businesses and next to lake Carolyn, give a nice option to walk after enjoying your meal. Their enchiladas are really good. However, service was a bit if'y may have just been our server but took a long time for our drinks to be filled again and was hardly attentive. That does not dis credit the food, it was delicious! Especially the tres leche.

Yelp
If you can sit outside, I'd suggest it! The decor is so nice to enjoy some good food and drinks from Hugo's. The food here is superior and the presentation of every dish that came out was top notch. Looking forward to the next time I'll be back! :)

Yelp
We went here for the first time and weren't impressed at all. Overall feel like it was just okay. We arrived fairly early in the evening and it was very open. Not many patrons at all. The vibe is a bit over the top with the decor and the concept was harder to digest.. pun intended. Our server was overall good and very friendly. She was able to help us navigate their menu. I do appreciate how the food is supposed to be healthier but overall was not the most tasty. The mushroom vegan tacos were okay and a bit drier taco shells. Not too much food as pictured proportion-wise and the drinks were not too strong and served with a lot of ice. The bill was fairly high up there around $100 including tip for two. We both decided we'll probably opt out of going back. Not a negative experience but also not super impressed consider lots of other good Tex Mex spots in Dallas.

Yelp
I really liked this new concept, which occupies the former Mi Cocina space in West Village. It struck me as kind of "clean Mexican" approach with super fresh ingredients, not your typical greasy spoon Tex-mex (which I love too!) Their green salsa is standout, and the house marg was nice and light. Their green chicken tacos made for a nice brunch! The service was great, and the decor is really attractive. Good place for a date or girls night!

Yelp
We have been to the Hugo's in Las Colinas and could not wait to try this one in West Village. It did not disappoint. We love the menu and love the slightly different decor. We can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Hugos has a great vibe. Very Tulum like! I like that this restaurant has a healthier take on mexican food. From baked chips to having an organic, gluten free menu, everything tastes fresh and accommodating to various diets.

Yelp
My friend and I re-visited Hugo's after a bumpy first visit. I have to say that this visit more than made up for it! The fish of the day was whole branzino, and it was fantastic. The snapper was wonderful as well, but that branzino...! We were not hungry enough for an appetizer, although I wish we tried one of the ceviches. (Next time!) The blue corn flan was also good (very different but good)- but the coconut ice cream?? Stop it. Fabulous. Luckily we didn't lick the bowl. It was that good. Our server, Paulina, was spot on. Friendly and quick. The entire experience was great. We even met Hugo, who was lovely. We will be back!!

Yelp
We held a small book club meeting over dinner at Hugo's Invitados - it's so cute inside! Dishes ordered were the carne asada, shrimp tacos, arugula Joven salad and enchiladas. The Paloma was very enjoyable as was the arugula salad and the shrimp tacos. Our party found the lemongrass rice very inventive as well. I will definitely be back for that salad again! There was a little confusion about whether we could order an additional entree to take home to a partner as they do not offer takeout at this time, but it got figured out.
