The 11 Best Places to Eat in Paris Right Now - AFAR

"Evoking a chic Brittany seaside outpost on the Left Bank, this striped-awning seafood restaurant thrives on sidewalk service and a bustling raw bar: towering platters of oysters, lobster, and crab arrive alongside frosty champagne buckets, and diners spoon mignonette (minced shallots with red wine vinegar) over Fines de Claire oysters. While there are some non-shellfish options like ceviche and poke bowls, the old-school raw-bar delights are the main draw, with fried calamari or fritto misto as popular alternatives." - Eleanor Aldridge

Wheelchair accessible seating not accessible bathroom which is upstairs. Need reservation, we called explain was our last night at Paris. They saved a table for us. Food is great and reasonable priced, next time definitely we will order the oyster. Looks very fresh.

This was one of my favorite meals while in Paris! The mussels and the sauce they were in was so DELICIOUS, I could drink it! The mussels were cooked perfectly and while some were small, they give you so many that I didn't mind. We also got the oyster platter which was perfect. The staff was entertaining and friendly. I wish we could go again!

What an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming host who set the tone for a fantastic evening. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing—stylish, vibrant, and perfectly curated for a memorable night out. The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making sure everything was just right throughout the meal. And the drinks—wow! Each cocktail was crafted to perfection, thanks to Andres the bartender, who truly knocked it out of the park. His creations were not only delicious but also a visual treat. All around, this was a five-star experience. Highly recommend!

Google
It’s my third time to dine here. You need to reserve or come early. But luckily We were seated without reservations. Food is always great! My only complaint was the mussels are getting smaller.

Google
We stayed in St. Germain and stumbled upon this fantastic seafood restaurant. The onion soup and mussels were unbelievable. Octopus was also out of this world. So good that we had to come back the next night. Freddie and the staff are delightful and very professional. I would come back again and again. Merci

Google
An amazing dining experience in Paris! We tried frog legs, octopus, oysters, and the lobster roll—everything was top-notch and absolutely worth the price. The quality of the food, presentation, and flavors were truly impressive. Service was also excellent—our waiter spoke great English and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy fresh seafood and a refined atmosphere in the heart of Paris!

Google
Such a fun place! The staff were the friendliest and most outgoing I've experienced in my brief trip to Paris, and I hope to visit again one day. I have EXTREMELY limited French skills, and they made me feel right at home. What a great spot!

Google
Delicious. Amazing food. One of the, if not the best service my whole time in Paris. Mussels were great, the razor clams were amazing, oysters were delicious, the lobster rolls were just ok and the fries were nice and crispy. Good selection of drinks options. So the place gets busy, we did not have reservations but we were offered outside seating. The initial employee might not have been a server that was not super friendly, but let me tell you that our server was great and service superb. Princes are on the high side but compared to the rest of my meals in Paris, it was on par with quality.

Yelp
Reservations are not needed but recommended. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Grom gelato is next door ;)

Yelp
Food is mediocre in a city where you find great food. Skip. Food doesn't feel very fresh.

Yelp
Friends recommended Huguette just off a Boulevard Saint-Germain. It has great seafood and is especially known for their huitres or oysters. I had half a dozen followed by a superb filet of salmon with asparagus. And, of course, a molten chocolate cake for dessert - wonderful. It's a nice setting looking over the street, perfect for a little people watching. Great attentive service. If you're looking for seafood in Paris, you can't go wrong with Huguette.

Yelp
Came for lunch and ordered the moules mariner aka moules frites. Outstanding. Came with excellent French bread and even superior butter. The Sauvignon blanc was excellent too. Highly recommended. Service was good and ambiance.

Yelp
Just happened to stumble upon this place and stopped because seafood is their specialty. A nice alternative from the brasseries since I don't eat meat! French onion soup was amazing and the seafood was delicious. Freddy was a gem and quite entertaining!

Yelp
Super delicious and fresh seafood, deducting a star because they did not have everything we wanted (no more linguine with clams, no more razor clams, and no Uni!). Very disappointed with the selection and not a lot of items I wanted. However, everything we did order was cooked to perfection! - langoustine - fresh oysters from Normandy - mussels marinere - octopus All of them were delicious, especially the mussels, still one of the best I've had! The broth was out of this world! Definitely recommend, but be prepared to be disappointed if they don't have everything you want to order on the menu!

Yelp
Got a last minute table when we arrived at 7:10PM. We were told that we just had to be done by 8:30. No problem for us as we appreciated a faster paced meal anyway. Menu was straightforward, all in French but no problems with google translate. Tuna sashimi came on a great sauce, ceviche was also fresh and tasty. Fish soup was well seasoned and came with cheese you could add on top. Beef Tatar and paella were outstanding. Mussels continued to be a consistently great choice throughout France.

Yelp
Note globale : Non recommandé. Service: Very disappointing. Typical manipulation of customers who enter an empty restaurant to suggest that reservations exist, which never show. Quick quick quick ... hurry to finish meal by a certain time, only to witness 8 empty tables. Food: Acceptable but rushed to the point of indigestion. Ambiance: Lacking when one is hurried to finish their meal. Overall Rating: Not recommended.

Yelp
Amazing seafood and and an incredible menu! Loved our last dinner here in St Germain - the food did not disappoint. We didn't make a reservation and it was quite busy on a Sunday night - we ended up snagging a table outside. Luckily, they did provide blankets which helped to take some of the chill off, especially as the night got colder. My main goal was to have moules frites (in this case, moules Marinieres) and oysters before we left, and Huguette served exactly this! We also had razor clams and a tasty linguine alle vongole, which paired nicely with the white wine I had ordered. This was such a cute little bistro and the perfect way to end our Paris adventures!

Yelp
Definitely recommend making a reservation -- I contacted them through Facebook messenger because I didn't have the ability to call and they were extremely responsive. We did not order any raw seafood or platters which does seem to be their specialities, but ordered the grilled lean fish, cod fish bites, and onion soup. Overall, the food was quite delicious and really flavorful. I personally think that I would order slightly different items next time (the french onion soup was purely because this was the last time to try it in France). The cod bites were not whole pieces of fish, it was quite a bit different than what we were expecting. The fish was obviously lean (as stated in the name), so I felt that it was a bit stringy, but the sauce it came with was heavenly. They were super packed during dinner, yet they checked with us a couple of times, so it was a great night.

Yelp
Great, cozy place. Freddy makes it all fun. Food was really fantastic, including the fried prawns and whole sea bass (perfectly cooked and presented).

Yelp
BE AWARE OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION!!! I guess they asked google to remove my review so here you go again. I'm planing to keep uploading my horrible experience over and over again until they truly realize and regret their fault. I went to Paris couple of times but the racial discrimination happened to me here for the first and last time ever in Paris! Unlike other restaurants in Paris, they do not have lunch breaks, they open from 12pm to 2am 7 days a week. We went there between 7-8pm and not even half of the tables were full at that moment. I asked one of the server if i can grab a table and he told me to follow. After passing many empty tables with long steps into the restaurant, he showed me one of the table RIGHT NEXT to the water tank. I was very concerned about my designer jacket and leather bag so I politely asked him again if there's other table available but he immediately said NO. So that means half of the tables were fully booked at that exact time and they all didn't come yet? Lol Yes, as you already noticed, me and my husband were only Asians there and all other people sitting were whites. I ended up with having nice dinner at the other restaurant which was a block away. I truly recommend to go different places if you're not white.

Yelp
A friend told me she wanted to try this place in Paris so since I'm there I will try it for her. Holy cow, what an experience! I went to the market side instead of the restaurant and the nice lady walked me over (might be the owner). I didn't have reservation but they sat me down and told me I had 50 mins to eat cuz they have another party coming. I didn't mind because I was planning to try only 2 items on their menu. Fresh oysters and razor clams. Wow, the oysters were fresh and clean tasting (the kind I picked were $18/6 from the medium size grouping). Then the razor clams came out and the light garlic smell was just calling me to eat one quickly before I even finished my raw oysters. I also ordered a glass of rose to cleanse my palette. The razor clams were so good, I ordered a second order to-go (take away as the French call it). If you're in the neighborhood, stop by. Having reservation will help if you don't want to be rushed

Yelp
Terrific, fresh seafood in a lovely atmosphere with wonderful staff. A must stop in Paris for us. Celebrated my birthday there this year with amazing oysters Poke bowls were large and delicious, pasta was tasty, and mussels in delicious broth. Yum!

Yelp
What a cute place with delicious food! Our waitress was super kind! The frog legs are spectacular! The oysters are delicious! The lobster is great! I subbed the potatoes for a Caesar salad. The steak Tartar was the BEST I've had!

Yelp
Charming restaurant with great people watching and even better food! We came for an early dinner and were seated immediately by the kind waitress. We sat outside so that we could admire the beautiful Parisian scenery. We grabbed some delicious white wine to start while we nibbles on the complimentary bread. We then ordered the Clams Linguini and Fish and Chips. The linguine was out of this world and I highly recommend it. The pasta had the most amazing lemon garlic sauce and it came loaded with plenty of clams. The fish and chips were great and the tartar sauce was fantastic! I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

Yelp
this seafood restaurant is open until late and has incredible service as well as an english menu via QR code which you can ask the server for! everybody was so friendly and the vibes were great when we dined here. they gave some complimentary bread with homemade seaweed butter which was yummy! what we ordered: - razor clams with parsley: 2.5/5 had a lot of salty crunch to them - fish soup: 4/5 i really liked the flavor and extras provided - moules marinieres: 4.5/5 the best dish we ordered here, the sauce flavor was fantastic but the mussels themselves were extremely tiny, like baby mussels i wish i had gotten the snacked scallop but they were out that night. also got a glass of wine (sauvignon) and it was actually very sweet and good, liked it a lot!

Yelp
This review is for the clams linguini! By far, one of the best clam linguini I ever had. The clams were so tender and soft. The linguini came out pipping hot and was really tasty. We added fresh cracked pepper and it was great; we felt a kick was missing, and finally figured out a squeeze of fresh lemon was missing when our oysters came out (so request some linen wedges and add your own lemon!) We would pass on the fish soup (not our cup of tea). It tasted fishy and not broth nor creamy, like we were expecting of "normal" soups in the states. Oysters were good, but we're used to how they are prepared in the states, so maybe we aren't the best judges for that. 0:-)

Yelp
Walking through the rive gauche and stopped here after the food caught our eye and wanted a place to sit and cool off. Lots of outdoor spots and we took a seat on the patio. Lots of locals, but the waiters are friendly to tourists. We had the mussels and fish and chips. The mussels were great, delicious creamy broth and a massive portion. The fish and chips was only ok, the breading is thick and soft, no crisp, but the fish tasted good. Crispy fries served with both dishes but could've used a little more seasoning. The service was good and kindly obliged our request for a large bucket of ice which cooled us off quickly in the heat. Would go back to try the clam linguine.

Yelp
I'm not sure what to make of this place...it was friendly, jokey, it has a nice, comfortable feel about it inside (with a large covered outside, which given the rain was handy for the smokers even if you have a pavement running down the middle!). But...the food should come first yes? We had crevettes gris - well you can't mess them up, but not my thing; a big bowl of whitebait...a little soft, not so crispy; one of our party had oysters tempura (definitely not my thing)...followed by 2 x the gambas curry, and 2 x octopus...as for the first, a little tasteless at best (and only chosen for want of being able to enjoy anything else - the menu is a little odd and anyway fish is not high on my list of must eats so it has to be a) good and b) plain and simple...but it wasn't so here); no idea about the octopus, absolutely not my thing. Next, the large pavlova since we all fancied that but, there was not much meringue, plenty of cream. I had a double espresso As for the drinks, we variously had a white Vaqueyras, a red Chinon and a Columbian rum...all OK But at 280€ for 4 was that a good deal? yes we had a nice time but we felt the food didn't measure up...too many buts

Yelp
I actually found Huguette walking around looking for another restaurant. I was lucky to get a table as it was a Friday night and I had no reservation. There was one table available and it was great! It was facing outside, and although it was a really cold December night, there was plastic around the outdoor seating area and heat lamps. So, I could see what was going on while staying warm. Ha cha! Our server was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. So, we got lucky there as well. As for the food, although its primarily a seafood restaurant, my travel companion and I ordered the poulet (chicken) dish and the beouf (steak) dish. The chicken dish was amazingly delicious as was the mashed potatoes it came with. I couldn't tell you what the sauce was on the chicken and mashed potatoes, but I can tell you it was marvelous. The steak dish was very good but not as good as the chicken. However, the french fries they served with the steak were excellent. I ate every one of them. Yes, they were that good. We also enjoyed a bottle Pinot Noir, recommended by our server, which was very good as well. I also finished off my dinner with a Cafe Allonge ... a long espresso? I'm not sure about that either but it was pretty good. My travel buddy had a glass of Verre de Champagne, which she enjoyed very much. If I were to go back, I think I would try some of the seafood. It was cold night and wanted something warm and comforting. However, many of the locals were going for mussels and oysters, so I will next time as well!

Yelp
Loved my experience , great oysters amazing wine lovely service. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
It was so good I forgot to take a picture!!! My family and I were unsure we'd be able to get a table because the outdoor seating was full. BUT we were greeted with smiles and shown to a table. (RESERVATIONS AT OTHER PLACES ARE A MUST!) My hubs had the Sole Meunière, my daughter got the fish and chips and I had the moules et frites. DELICIOUS!! Give this place a try...you won't regret it!

Yelp
Freddy makes this place standout and makes you feel a part of the city with his light, laughter, and expression. We randomly stopped by here and I will say that after going to Paris many many times... and having adventures throughout the city ... Huguette has one of the best Cristal Champagne selections in town. That's why it is a hidden gem (and I shouldn't be saying this or else everyone is going to take the rare Cristal selections).

Janet R.

Yelp
Wow! Everything about Huguette is fabulous! First, the service & atmosphere is top notch! Friendly, efficient & professional. The manager treated us like we were his favorite customers even though it was our first visit (based on other reviews). The food was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, great presentation! Emmanuel, our waiter, my husband & I fell in love with. If we had more time in this trip we would go back!
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Sent here by our excellent hotel hosts, this was a very pleasant surprise. At first they had lost our reservation then quickly found a table all the same on a busy Friday evening. Their specialty here is seafood and they do a great job. Its a quintessential Parisian bistro-ish place, that has a super comfortable vibe that makes even the most Franco-phobic feel at ease. All I can say is our food and service was way better than we expected and honestly, if you find yourself in this great neighborhood, forget waiting in line a at Le Comptoir, or L'Entrecotte, and go here and enjoy your evening! Bon Apetite MF!
google avatar

Winglo A.

Yelp
Great food and good amount. I had Fish and chips (5 generous pieces) , shrimp dim sum (5 each) and Tomates cerises et basilic linguine pasta. All have good presentation and delicious. We got there without reservation for lunch and they were able to seat us indoor, which we preferred anyway because it was too hot and sunny outside. Service was excellent.

Yelp
Reallly really really good food, cute area, great service. The bread is ok, but the butter is their own special blend with spices and it's DELICIOUS! I could've ate the whole butter ball to myself. Really good. I was impressed. The oysters are TO DIE for delicious. We got the medium sized ones, they have anywhere from small to xl. I forgot the name but the waiter can help you pick or you can buy in 3s and pick some from each size. Super delicious and so super fresh. I got the Gambas du plancha (grilled shrimps ) with basmati rice . It was perfect. Very good flavor, light and the rice was perfect and bouncy. Not overly salted . Amazing dish. My husband got the Sea bass Ceviche in lychee and lemon juice. If you like fresh light ceviche you will love this. It was sweet with a bit of tang, and very flavorful and tart. Perfect with scallions and red onion to top it off. It was absolutely delicious. We also got some great Muscat wine and the waiter helped us pair one with the entrees we chose. The waiter was Colombian and spoke Spanish which was actually really cool because I'm fluent in Spanish. He was so helpful and kind. I really enjoyed the vibe here. It was young, hip and very chill. No stuffiness here . Great ambience and good . We wanted to come back the same day for dinner ! I highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Service was wonderful. Food was fantastic! We had the moules and also the pasta vongole. Both were amazing! The complimentary bread and butter , soo good! Probably my favorite restaurant in Paris. We went there twice.

Mark S.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant to get fresh seafood. It's packed (get a reservation), the atmosphere is lively, and Freddie is an amazing host who runs the show. Went there twice on our recent trip to Paris.

Yelp
Delicious seafood Resto in the 6th! I lived here about 5 years ago and returned after a long hiatus with my fiancé. We found this restaurant on yelp and decided to check it out. The crowd is nice and it is tucked away in a small street between others restaurants. The staff is cheerful, and conversant in all languages, but will happily chat with you in French if you wish to practice. I highly recommend the grilled lobster which comes with an amazing mashed potato side (one of the best I've ever had!)

Yelp
We were lucky to get a same day reservation for Saturday night. At 8:30 we sat at a high top table inside and within minutes the place was packed, inside and out. The staff is very accommodating and they make you feel like your a regular. Our waitress, who was fluent in English, was more like a confidant and consultant as she guided us through the menu. We began with Belons and a bottle of crisp Sancerre. The oysters were flawless; briny, sweet and refreshing. A frito misto was next...baby squid, shrimp and tiny whitebait...all cleanly fried. The accompanying aoli has a nice hit of fresh tarragon. Our waitress checked up on us and on a whim I asked if they had sea urchin. "Yes would like me to bring you one?" Of course I did. The coral colored pieces, served in the shell, were creamy and hinted of fois gras, tidal pool and peat. Then came perfectly grilled prawns, the heads to be sucked out, were loaded with flavor, the flesh mild and delicious. We finished with an apple tartartan and coffees. I'd gladly return to sample more than what must have been a dozen different oysters. Although we were bursting we managed the short walk back to our hotel. A wonderful evening. If you love fresh seafood and a lively atmosphere Huguette is not to be missed.
google avatar

Rein C.

Yelp
Food was ok - not bad but also nothing amazing. Mussels were seasoned well but the fish soup was not that great. Fries are ok. There were only 1-2 serves and it's a big place with lots of outdoor seating, so it took forever to place our order and to ask for the check. Had to go to the counter to ask for mayo AND the waitress I spoke to never brought it, so had to go back and ask directly from the staff shucking oysters behind the counter. Meh

Yelp
I cannot rave about Huguette enough, it is nothing short of AMAZING! Two of my friends and I were at a restaurant across the street and the menu and vibe was just bland. One of my friends made eye contact and pointed our heads to the door at the same time! When our mutual friend asked us where we wanted to go instead we all just started gravitating toward Huguette. The restaurant is tourist friendly, however, it is not a tourist restaurant. The food is AMAZING the customer service is AMAZING. I mean even the butter is amazing, seriously, I think they salt it with seaweed. Just amazing! We went a few times for random meals during our stay, which as foodies who like to try new places, shows that's how good it is. My friend ended up going back on a different trip and I begged her to bring me back some butter--lets just say we didn't chat for the next five minutes. Overall, you get great food at a reasonable price.

Yelp
To be honest we were trying to eat at Huitrerie Régis, but since they're closed until Sept 7 we happened to come across this little gem! They don't have an English menu but the waiter was very helpful and I enjoyed every one of his recommendations! We had two sets of oysters and the daboube (or something like that) ceviche and they were all absolutely delicious. If you're looking for oysters this place definitely does not disappoint. We were sad that Huitrerie Régis was closed, but this restaurant turned our frown upside down!
google avatar

Tanya C.

Yelp
Packed during the lunch and dinner times. Need to make a reservation for dinner or you will not get in till 9 pm. I had their fish soup and dorado ceviche. The soup was OK. I expected chunks of fish but it was more of a blended mixture with the sides of croutons, some sauce and Gruyere cheese. The ceviche was fresh with mangos, avocado, seaweed and scallions. It was good but next time I will try one of their more popular signature dishes. The problem is they do not have the menu in English (thus 4 stars). The waitress was very nice and tried to translate but it was very busy and I did not want to take much of her time. I did enjoy a couple glasses of their house Chardonnay and by the end of my lunch I could almost understand French! :) Would I go there again? Oui!

Yelp
I have rarely walked out of a restaurant before ordering food, but there is a first time for everything. We were met by a mean, mean host who seems to wish to fulfill the rude Frenchman stereotype (dude...#21st century...), and an indifferent waitress who tried to push things we did not order and rolled her eyes when we refused to act like dumb tourists (although we kind of ARE dumb tourists for making a reservation here in the first place and not doing a little research beforehand). 30 minutes to first drink (and only one glass for the carafe; another eye roll as we asked for the second one...we finally got our own from the host stand after waiting another 15 minutes for it), 45 before we decided we shall not wait to order our food. Utter chaos - OK, Friday night, I get it... but how a little nod of reassurance that at least water will be coming some time in the near future? Food looked blah, and definitely OVERPRICED for what it is, really glad we skipped it. You should skip Huguette to. Go to Frenchie's or Boissoniere around the corner for better food and certainly better treatment.

Dale L.

Yelp
Giving 5 stars for what it is; casual, cool, fun, delicious, textbook perfect seafood place in Saint-Germain des Pres. Note - the French Fries? Best I've in all of Paris (including places known for great fries) and this place is all about seafood. When I arrive in Paris - I go straight to Huguettes and get oysters, then something new. (Haven't had the whole menu yet - but close). Everything's been great. Looking forward to returning.
google avatar

Scarlett W.

Yelp
really cool to sit outside and watch people go by and eat some of the best oysters ever. hilariously rude waiter which made it stereotypically fun. Don't take offense, it is busy all night and watch your purse if you sit outside.
google avatar

W H.

Yelp
This is a smallish place in the Sixth. They have very good oysters and moules frites. We would go back. The food was good and the server was congenial and helpful. Most of the place seems to be on the sidewalk, but is fully covered and has heaters. This makes for excellent people watching. The feel is pretty casual, a very comfortable place.

Annmarie N.

Yelp
We loved this restaurant! 5 stars for service ... and 5 stars for dining. We came with 12. Not a small group however the team served with intimacy as if we were 2. We ordered a full tasting of the menu -- and I must say, everything was delicious. Appetizers were quite nice. The seafood -- fresh and perfectly prepared. The pasta dishes excellent and deserts superb. High recommend if you are seeking outside casual dining in the Latin Quarter.

Yelp
Amazing fresh seafood, fabulous fish and chips (best tartare sauce ever), loved the strawberry pavlova and the nicest staff around...cheers to Frederic the host and our sweet server!
google avatar

Yelp
Very friendly waiter, did not make reservation and was given a table outside right away. The captain is super nice. Very good recommendations from the waiter, only disappointing found out the desert ice cream is practically from the ice cream shop next door.

Yelp
Me and my family visited in august . We had amazing . My daughter had the fish sticks and she had she ate every single bite . My husband had the octopus and said it was the best he'd ever had. I had some sea food soup , it was scrumptious. We really loved all the decorations and all the staff was really friendly .overall I just want to say the three of us really enjoyed the restaurant.

Yelp
Delicious dinner outside. I had clams, hubby had squid. Service was great food was tasty. Very busy and lively restaurant.

Caleb C.

Yelp
Wow! To be honest we had pretty low expectations for how this would turn out. We had just returned from Lyon and had the best food that we could imagine. Upon arrival we were hungry before returning home and thought about giving this a try. The yelp description didn't mention this as a seafood restaurant, but that is the singularly best way to describe it. We ate as much as we could and then some. We didn't have a reservation, but they managed to fit in our party if 5 and were happy to share their food with us. We ordered the scallops, lobster pasta, and chorizo and octopus. I had the latter and picture can be found included. Absolutely wonderful food and friendly staff. I could see us returning even with a family that doesn't care too much for seafood.

Yelp
According to Tastemade this place is AMAZING. After having a variety of dishes, I would downgrade it from amazing to OK. The seafood is fresh and tastes good but nothing that will blow you away. In other words, it will not let you down but it will most likely not impress you either. Also, watch out for the French-only menus. You need to grab a waiter that can translate it for you.

Yelp
The food was great but the service was very slow even though it wasn't very busy. I got the moules gratinées and the tuna ceviche which i highly recommend.

Yelp
Great oysters, wonderful tartare of salmon and very respectable fritto misto with a heavy Spanish influence. Vibe is laid back and service is pretty slow. So, don't come here if you're in a hurry. Noticed the Parisians don't even use the menu. They know what's good and go with that.
