10 sparkling wine estates to visit around the network - SilverKris

"A small Marlborough vineyard that emphasizes organic and biodynamic practices (avoiding synthetic pesticides and insecticides) and highlights two notable sparklings: a Method Tradition combining Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and a Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay; the cellar door operates seasonally over the Southern Hemisphere summer (November–April), open daily from mid-morning to late afternoon when in season." - Saul Lipchik

The 8 of us stopped at Huia as 1 of 3 spots on a day-long Marlborough wine region tour. We enjoyed the wine and had a wonderful time on-site, learning a ton from kerry along the way. She described every wine which was served to us and how it was made. She even took great care of our hungry kids. Our tasting took place in a cute outdoor space surrounded by trees and chickens and sat alongside the vineyard itself. Kerry also recommended other places around the area for us which was really cool to. Huia is well worth a stop if you’re in the area! The place is extremely cute and the folks are very hospitable!

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting here. We went for the three glass classic but were able to switch out the pinot noir for the 2022 tangle which was kind. Our server was very knowledgeable and the cheese and meat board we ordered was super tasty. Lovely setting overlooking the vineyards with chickens keeping us entertained.

We stopped at Huia as 1 of 3 spots on a day-long Marlborough wine region tour. My wife and I enjoyed the wine and had a wonderful time on-site, learning a ton from Mel along the way. Our tasting took place in a cute outdoor space surrounded by trees and chickens and sat alongside the vineyard itself. Mel also walked us around behind the scenes which was really cool to see after having tasted the wine and learning about their process. Huia is well worth a stop if you’re in the area!

We had a lovely time here today trying 5 wines, all of which were amazing . The food was delicious and we really enjoyed all the chat with our host and with the chooks! We learned lots! Highly recommend a visit here.

One of our Discovery Wine Tours stops today. Great wines! Staff were knowledgeable and kind. Will look for all the labels we saw and tasted today, when we get back home. Hopefully at least one of them has not been snatched-up! The venue is perfect too. Nice touch with the plump, free range chicken and rooster. And this from a guy who knows zip about wines.

Lovely range of biodynamic wines with some surprises on the menu (no spoilers). Very knowledgeable staff but also a bit tight on space (especially with a few tour shuttles - maybe invest in a few more tables?). You also need a physical credit card for tastings - can’t use payWave via phone which was nearly a disaster (guess I’d be washing dishes). Also meant we could not buy any wine and disappointingly they do not use the wine collective direct so hard for those of us from the West Island.

My wife and I spent a very pleasant hour+ enjoying a tasting of Huia's wine range. Mel (Cellar Mgr) was a great host and very informative about both their wines and the Blenheim wine scene in general. We had the cheese platter and the olives to go with our tasting, which only inhanced both the flavour of the wine and the experience in general. The offering we so good that we joined their wine club. Highly recommend a visit. Graeme & Jackie.
