Fast and efficient. Generous portion with a high ratio of rice (you can choose between white and brown). Lots of toppings to choose from - the lotus chips are delicious! Got the two scoop bowl with brown rice, salmon and eel.

Violet D.

Google
Really good and authentic poke! Very generous portion of proteins. This is one of the best I had in NYC. I cant believe it is so close to school.

Google
Great staff. I should have watched how much sauce was mixed with my food (not enough for me). I think if the sauce was poured directly into the rice bowl, it would have been more flavorful (to mix with the rice). I forgot to ask for eel sauce, great selection. They have shrimp (many places don’t). They had japanese soda too (no ice machine or soda fountain machine dispenser).

Google
I love this place but They cheap out with Tuna. They give you bunch of cucumbers and adamame fill up the bowl but just a tiny bit of tuna.!!

Google
Highly recommend! I was hungry after work so I stopped by Hula Poke for dinner. The workers were extremely polite and helpful. They helped me every step of the way through creating my poke bowl. I ordered the two scoop bowl with salmon and tuna, they were so fresh! The toppings, especially the seaweed salad, was refreshing and light. Also, the atmosphere of this place is out of this world. Calm music played in the background and a nice spacious seating area allowed for a great meal. My first time here is amazing and I will be back soon!

Google
Found this place poppin' with a lot of people ordering and so we decided to eat some poke as well. We created our own poke, don't ask me what we put in there. We just kept adding to the bowl. However, all I know is that our proteins were spicy salmon and spicy tuna which were nicely tasty and spicy! All the ingredients were fresh and definitely will come back again.

Google
The taste journey pairs perfectly with the service journey. I found myself speechless after dining here. The employees treat customer concerns seriously. Hula Poke delivers quality consistently. I'm excited for my next opportunity to visit!

Google
Very friendly owners! Very filling and healthy meal. The restaurant is also very clean and has a good number of seating.

Yelp
I've been a customer for over four years! Solid poké spot serving a lot of Columbia students. Their fish protein options and ingredients are fresh, and you can get as many toppings as you'd like for the custom bowls. The toppings are pretty diverse. Also I'm a fan that their bowls (and lids!) are made of a sustainable paper material. I recommend stopping by if you need a bite to takeout and eat. Eating in their seating area is also nice if you are there during off-hours. I like this spot a lot to enjoy a meal at the end of a long day at school.

Yelp
My sister loves this place. She visited them multiple times in one week and said she thought of me lol. She eventually got some for me and despite the long travel, it was the freshest poke I have ever had in NY thus far. The price is just like any other poke spot but the quality is 100x better. They are very generous with the portions and the salmon is super fresh. I wish they were closer to me so I can get some more often. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Oh my gosh one of the best poke bowls I ever had it was so tasty and they totally filled up my bowl. Everything was fresh and the place looked very clean.

Yelp
Was looking for a place to get a good Poke bowl and this little gem did not disappoint! The food was fresh, and service efficient and friendly. I ordered take out so I did not dine in however, the restaurant is clean, and has plenty of space to sit and enjoy. I had the Hawaiian traditional and it was so yummy!!!

Grace R.

Yelp
DELICIOUS. the fish was so good, and the girl that made my bowl was so sweet and helpful. it was my first time ever having poke, so i didn't know what to put at all. she was very patient (i took a while to decide everything LOL). the restaurant was very small, but you could do dine-in or take-out. my dad and i sat and ate, and it was a cute environment with a few college students. overall loved it! great first poke experience
google avatar

Avery D.

Yelp
Not great poke. The ratio of rice to toppings was not good. Too much toppings with almost no rice. I liked the shrimp tempura. The sauce wasn't very flavorful. Just wasn't impressed overall. Nice worker and a good amount of seating inside.
google avatar

Eugenia Y.

Yelp
I actually stumbled by this place, and was really quite surprised that it was pretty good. There was ample seating, and the staff were very helpful and nice. I get pretty stressed out about ordering when there are SO many options, and Hula Poke was no exception. So I was extremely grateful that the staff were patient. When we got our food, we found the fish to be fresh and the sauces to be pretty good. I got the tuna and the salmon, and I panicked and ordered all the toppings so I wouldn't have to select each one separately. Anyway, pretty great poke and reasonable prices, and I'm pretty satisfied I stumbled upon this place!

Yelp
I love sushi and this was my first poke bowl. I will be going back today I really enjoyed it!
google avatar

Yelp
Got a burrito from here once. It was smaller than I expected so value wasnt great especially with the other poke spots in the area. It upset my stomach the next day... this is particularly alarming because i have a strong stomach. Normally i can eat risky things without it upsetting my stomach or getting sick so this making that happen means I'm never going back. Expensive and not prepared well.
google avatar

Shannon E.

Yelp
Very yummy, excellent portions. I do wish they added more meat though. But plenty of veggies and toppings. Very customizable.

Camila

Yelp
Classic boba tea, passion fruit, and vegetable rolls are delicious. Amazing atmosphere and respectful staff.

Yelp
A clean poké joint tucked into the quiet stretch of Amsterdam Ave facing St. John the Divine. Prices are reasonable but you should definitely treat yo'self to the three-protein option as fish is doled out in war rations. They toss cubed fish with your salad greens and choice of mix-ins and sauce (at least for the salad option), which is great so you don't have sad, undressed salad at the bottom of your bowl. They'll add the minced, marinated fish on top if you choose one of those options. Unlimited mix-ins, toppings and crunchies (save for a few premium items) are free. Service is competent and efficient. Makes for a great healthy lunch option!

Yelp
This spot was amazing. It's like a chipotle poke bowl restaurant. You can create your own bowl. It's in a beautiful area of the city too. I definitely need to come back again!
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Protein servings started small but the toppings and flakes came in heaps! Great ambience too and not too busy around 1 pm on a Sunday.

Yelp
I ordered a make your own bowl via uber eats. There is next to NO Salmon or tuna here but an obscene amount of edamame. I ordered a poke bowl not steamed edamame. They also left off the classic house dressing - so it's all just dry. Not my fave but I guess it will do in a pinch
google avatar

Tanya I.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite EVER poke place in NYC (and probably anywhere else). You get so many toppings to choose from, the proteins are super fresh, and the rice is sooo delicious. My go-to order is: white rice, 1 ahi tuna, 1 salmon, edamame, avocado, green onions, pickled ginger, pickled daikon and jalapeno crisps. For the sauce, get the Hawaiian Classic. It's the perfect sweet, but not too sweet, fresh concoction. I definitely recommend NOT getting the spicy proteins because they're mashed up and, just, *texture issues*. If you're ever on the UWS, go to Hula Poke!!!! Let me know your thoughts.
google avatar

Yelp
Hula Poke hits the spot! I've ordered their poke a couple times to-go before the pandemic, but since they've reopened they have a table at the front of the restaurant where they hand you your orders. I've tried a few of their bowls but I like the create your own option! Sometimes at other poke places the flavors don't pair well together, but even if you add a lot of random add-one, the bowls are still really good! The fish is always fresh too. I'd recommend Hula Poke!

Yelp
Food is 50/50 depending on the day. Last time I came, the man working the bar glared at me for ordering too many sauces and was putting literal drops of sauce into my food in reprisal. Needed the sauce bc their rice is dry af. Not sure what the problem is: if you hate it that much, then put a limit on the sauces. I don't have this issue at other places, and honestly this joint doesn't have any other selling points besides convenience.

Yelp
For someone that is super picky with food, and is health-conscious, I'm surprised that I've gone so long without trying Poke. Well, one evening I decided it was time to try it out. I searched on my UberEats app, and found Hula Poke to be a good option. I ordered the Samurai Poke, with three scoop of salmon slices over a bed of brown rice and vegetables. The meal was amazingly good. The dressing they used added a ton of flavor, and the salmon portion was decent. I was left both satisfied and impressed by this meal. Poke is now in my radar. The next time I am looking for a light and delicious meal, I will give Hula Poke another go.

Yelp
I've never been to this place but been getting delivery from apps& it's tasty every single time! I've ordered for about 5-6 times from quite a distance away.

Yelp
First time trying a poke bowl & it certainly won't be my last! So glad I finally decided to check out this place for lunch. They have plenty of options to choose from in terms of the protein, toppings, and dressings. I got a shrimp tempura bowl with red onion, sweet corn, carrots, cilantro, pickled daikon, and wonton crisps smothered in sriracha aioli and wow. So so delicious and a pretty good portion for $13. Aside from the bowls, you can also get poke salads and sushi burritos - saw quite a few people ordering the latter so I'll be trying that soon too. The restaurant itself is a bit small but they do have a few tables and counters to eat in. There's water free of charge in the seating area. They also have a rewards card - after you buy a certain number of items you get a free one. Staff was nice considering how busy they were. Great spot overall, highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Above average poke for NYC. Like many poke places, these guys also do sushi, however they luckily don't just repurpose the same ingredients towards poke. Tuna quality is good and they don't pre-mix a spicy option which I like. Similar to most NYC places they seem mystified when I only get like 2 veggies with my protein, however that's a big difference between mainland and Hawaiian poke; the latter is very simple, whereas the mainlanders load it up with toppings. I usually do 2 scoops of tuna, a touch of red onion/edename, brown rice, and sriracha aioli, then adding crab salad, masago (fish eggs), pickled daikon (radish), cilantro, jalapeño crisps, shredded boru, and fuirikake (spicy fish garnish). That's a bit more topping to maybe be true Hawaiian style, but it is delicious. My wife usually forgoes a protein and gets avocado instead. Prices could be a bit better, but it's also not breaking the break and it's healthy. This is a once a week ritual for me, and will hopefully stay that way for a long time.

Yelp
Got delivery and it just didn't taste fresh, even as I ate it soon after it was delivered. The fish didn't taste good, the toppings like seaweed and crab salad were overly seasoned, and the rice was clumpy and hard. I am thankful that they accommodated my request for half rice and half salad base, though!

Yelp
Found this place poppin' with a lot of people ordering and so we decided to eat some poke as well. We created our own poke, don't ask me what we put in there. We just kept adding to the bowl. However, all I know is that our proteins were spicy salmon and spicy tuna which were nicely tasty and spicy! All the ingredients were fresh and definitely will come back again.

Yelp
After church, I was starving. I saw the poster of a sushi burrito. I was intrigued, so I stopped by this spot. ATMOSPHERE It's a very clean restaurant. This is a pretty much no frills spot with tables and chairs reminiscent of an upscale fast food spot. I saw people of all ages here: from toddlers to seniors. FOOD While I was there, most customers ordered the bowl. I ordered what I caught my eye in the first place: sushi burrito. I had it with raw fish for the sushi effect. But for a tropical craving that creeped up, I added mango. You can order an unlimited number of fillings, which is a blessing and a curse. Unlimited anything is amazing to make it your own. But sometimes I just want to point to a menu, and simply say "I want this one." For those days of indecisiveness, I recommend that this eatery list a few suggested topping combinations.
google avatar

Yelp
Got a poke bowl with 3 scoops of protein (around $15) and enjoyed it for the most part. I ordered the 3 scoops rather than 2 scoops thinking there would be a good amount of fish in it. It's great that they allow a pretty good variety of unlimited toppings including premium ones like crab salad and seaweed salad. However, I was really disappointed in how tiny the scoops of fish were (I felt like I was just eating rice and the other toppings rather than a poke bowl with fish). The sauces were pretty good (spicy mayo and wasabi Mayo) and I liked the combination of flavors. Just wish they can put a fair portion of fish in each bowl.
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Hula Poké! The fish was fresh, and my make-your-own bowl was HUGE. I appreciated the generous amount of each topping, and the flavors were all great. The crisps were tasty and crispy, and I really liked the spicy mayo sauce, which actually had a little kick, unlike other "spicy" sauces I've had at other poké places. The tamago was surprisingly nice, with a good texture and faint hint of sweetness (highlighting this because the tamago at another recent poké place was pretty unpleasant). All the ingredients were fresh, and I wound up with leftovers :) Highly recommend!

Yelp
People say heartbreak is the worst pain a human being can experience. This is objectively false. No. The worst pain in human existence is dropping your poke bowl and seeing that sweet sriracha aioli sauce bleed out on the godforsaken streets of Manhattan. I recently donated my purchased meal in such a way to a family of rats on 109th street. I returned to the store in a daze of agony and self-pity. The staff generously donated another fully loaded bowl at no extra charge. Everyone needs a poke like Hula. Get yoself the dinner you deserve, get Hula Poke.
google avatar

Yelp
Now that the weird wave of new Poke places has stopped, its nice to see which places has managed to survive and thrive. Hula Poke is one of the few options nearby Columbia and has now become one of the healthier options that I get for lunch! Typically I opt for the three protein bowl (eel, spicy tuna, and ahi tuna) with brown rice. The rest of the toppings are usually what ever I'm craving that day but usually includes seaweed salad, edamame, and shredded nori on top. If i were to list everything I usually add, it would end up being the whole menu. Since Hula Poke is a build your own bowl kind of place, try to add things that you like and you wont be disappointed. As a side note, ordering online does seem to jack up the price at least 5$. I would recommend picking it up if you can!
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
I discovered this place on UberEats and I can confidently say that I found my go-to Poké place! For under $15, I made my own bowl and opted for the 2 scoop protein. I just wish the portion of the scoops for fish can be a bit bigger, but the unlimited toppings they offer make up for it. Once the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the neatly packaged food. Everything tasted really good! Overall, if you're craving Poké, I'd highly recommend this place for their fresh ingredients, huge portions, and affordable prices!
google avatar

Annette C.

Yelp
I ordered poke from UberEats and it was delicious! This is my go to poke delivery spot from now on. It is such a good deal for 2 proteins, especially on the UES AND UWS area. There are a lot of toppings (you can choose up to 8) and not as much rice which is great! I would recommend getting the salmon and the ahi tuna rather than the spicy salmon or spicy tuna because those proteins are mashed up while the regular proteins are in solid pieces.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
A good place for a poke. It's pronounced "pokey." This place is pretty cramped if it's more than a few customers there. It's order at the counter. You get to tell them how to make yours. I ordered one of the bowls with vegetarian choices. It's about $10 for a bowl. You can get your order as a bowl, salad, or as a sushi burrito which is kind of like a roll. It has a few signature pokes, or you can make your own. You get your choice of protein, and these include things like eel, salmon, and tofu. A sauce is then chosen. Some are the chili sauce, sriracha mayonnaise, and wasabi mayonnaise. Mix ins are next. These include many vegetables like cucumbers, radish, and squash. At the end you get a choice of seasonings to sprinkle on. These include chili flakes, peanuts, and sesame seeds. It's pretty cheap compared to other sushi in the city. Of course it's not as good as the fine Japanese restaurant quality. This still tastes good and it's affordable too.

Yelp
Pleasantly satisfied with hula poke! Great options and nice staff. Not terribly expensive considering what you get. I'll be back!
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Vibe: Spacious interior and have ac on a humid day in NYC Friendly servers very accommodating :) Food: tried my friends eel mango (u can choose 2/3 proteins) and unlimited toppings I believe! I think the spicy tuna, salmon, and crab meat was pretty delicious! The eel sauce was interesting too The burritos also look pretty big! Apparently hot Cheetos can be a topping too I would come back and bring a few friends! Nice to have healthy options so close to work! Price: around $10-$12 which is reasonable and fair for poke :) Location is right next to Hungarian bakery so for dessert !
google avatar

Eugene C.

Yelp
Yet another poke place that has sprung up in the city past year and a half or so. It is however, the only poke place in Morningside Heights at the moment. The place overall is clean and is spacious. I got the 2 protein poke bowl with a bunch of toppings. The scoops of protein were okay in size. I've had bigger scoops from other poke places in the city. They were pretty generous with the toppings, which I believe are unlimited. That's a definite plus. All in all, a good experience. I'd come back for sure to try their other offerings. I would give the place 5 stars but I feel like there is probably a ceiling as to how good a poke place in New York is compared to say Hawaii or Cali.
google avatar

Dove C.

Yelp
I order from here on occasion and have always gotten my food in a very timely manner. I've gone in a couple of times for takeout as well, and was very impressed with how clean the restaurant was, and how efficient the employees are with preparation. I get the rice bowls - fresh and tasty!
google avatar

Sandra G.

Yelp
To be honest, it's a little hard to find poke places in the upper west side. This place taste fresh, light, and is priced well for the number of ingredients you get. I wish they had more sauce options or that they added more but that also may be a personal preference since I'm a sauce person. The staff were friendly and patient. It more of a grab and go place than sit down but they do have a lot of space
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
I'd recommend the build your own poke bowl! I ordered a variety of toppings including the kani salad, tofu, avocado, mango, etc. It was delicious!
google avatar

T'Arica C.

Yelp
Consistent bowls. Fresh fish. Good size. I had a sushi burrito after a few orders of just bowls, it was great too! Never have been to the location, but I order from them more times than I'd like to admit. Lol
google avatar

Biana G.

Yelp
Best poke you'll get in the area! Hula poke offers fresh fish and plenty of poke toppings (no up-charge for Kani or seaweed salad).. what more could you want?! Clean, casual spot with indoor and outdoor seating available if you want to eat your bowl immediately. Also offer sushi burritos!
google avatar

Shoua X.

Yelp
Ordered two CYO bowls from here for takeout dinner - a poke bowl with salmon + spicy tuna and a poke salad with spicy salmon + spicy tuna. The price for the standard 2 scoops of protein felt very reasonable, but when the food arrived the two scoops were a little small (see pic) and I would def recommend paying for the third scoop of protein if you are feeling more hungry or generally prefer larger portions. The bowls were densely packed with all the other ingredients however, and I found it to be surprisingly filling. Bf got the house classic dressing while I got the ponzu dressing and I ended up liking his dressing better, as I found mine to be on the sweeter side when I was expecting something brighter and more citrusy. Good quality of ingredients and fish, and we will be ordering more from this place when the craving for poke hits. Word of warning the spicy does indeed taste spicy!
google avatar

Natasha F.

Yelp
Really great and fresh ingredients - study your options before you order so your not overwhelmed at the order bar if you create your own bowl - you can buy a set bowl as well - nice area to eat in - will definitely come back here - ordered the salad bowl they mix it really well - next time I will tell them not to mix as I like to taste chunks of salmon - nice poke bowl bar service
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
This might be one of my favorite poke spots! They're generous with their toppings while keeping prices affordable, and the fish is very fresh! In particular their spicy kani salad doesn't taste like cheap nonsense. They also have all the crunch toppings and all the mix ins that you usually see offered without many omissions. My bowl was very full, and the only ingredient they may have given me less of was rice in order to accommodate all my fillings. That's the way to do it!

S C.

Yelp
Impressive poke as good as any I've had in the USA. But the real star is the sushi burrito--a size queen sushi roll custom made to taste. That was a meal plus in a most creative packaging. Super friendly staff, fast orders, and a relaxed interior make for a great vibe as you people watch the Hungarian pastry/cafe line.
google avatar

Elise W.

Yelp
I have ordered delivery twice from here in the past few days. The first time it was fabulous. Tonight my poke bowl arrived with no protein at all - just rice and veggies. Very glad I did not order a third scoop of protien since someone working tonight decided not to give out the two. I know times are hard and maybe mistakes happen, but if it wasn't on purpose wouldn't you stop and double read the ticket - isn't odd that someone would order from a poke shop not wanting fish? I don't want to just throw accusations around, but it felt like the fish may have been omitted as a cost saving measure. This experience has me questioning if I would return in the future. Their food is delicious but to be charged full price for a bowl with fish and get rice and heavy on cucumber/spinach is disappointing. Not to mention now my daily macros are out of wack.
google avatar

Joyce C.

Yelp
This is a very convenient spot for students to get their quick fix of sushi cravings. Decent food quality and very reasonable price, great service by the cashier!! I came in around 1PM on a Wednesday and this place was poppin. Seating gets limited but most people just grab and go. The portion of the scoops for fish is pretty small, but again, considering that the price is relatively low for poke bowls. Plus you can add as much toppings as you want!! They are very generous with the sauce, so if you don't like it too saucy make sure you let them know. The cashier today was extremely friendly and served everyone with a warm smile :) really hope this place sticks around forever and will come back more often!
google avatar

Alana T.

Yelp
Great neighborhood Poké place with a nice selection of proteins, veggies, toppings, and sauces. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient -- no nonsense! Highly recommend if you're in the area craving Poké!

GY K.

Yelp
Ordered online and the food arrived great. The toppings are really fresh. Tastes great but feels healthy at the same time =)

Yelp
My go to poke spot near Columbia University! From my experience this place is on the cheaper end of poke ($10.95 for 2 scoops of protein, $12.95 for 3 scoops) and you get SO MANY toppings so it is super worth it! As with every typical poke place: quick service, clean and bright interior, complimentary lemon water. I normally go for the salmon and tuna for the protein. When scooping the proteins, the servers literally use the SMALLEST baby scoopie I have seen in my life, my heart sinks everytime, yet it surprisingly yields a decent portion of protein. The quality of the protein differs, however most times I have been it is decently fresh. Toppings include crab meat, seaweed salad, more salad, tamago, along with a plethora of other things so you can easily fill up your bowl to the MAX and stretch out one meal for two if you are a college student off the meal plan like me :') So quick you'll still have time to hit up Butler after :)
