Very relaxed atmosphere. They cooked up an awesome meal with our fresh fish fillets. Perfect way to end a day on the water. Cold beer and the best dipping sauce. It was delicious!

Rebecca S.

Google
Amazing food and service! We were recommended here by the charter captain of our fishing excursion to cook our catch of the day. We showed up with our filleted red drum and they worked their magic cooking it up and turning it into a full meal for us! Highly recommend!

Omg I’ve been sleeping on Huli huli hut. The food the Donnas service was out of this world. Yall know I’m a foodie but have I been under a rock. I’m writing this post because honestly a lot of the new places have been over priced and honestly just bland. I know a lot of my followers follow me for food. There just hasn’t been anything to rave about but instead of me telling Mike the manager 1000 times how good it is I thought I would tell yall. I got the Boudin balls and the blackened stuffed flounder with shrimp. I’m sure you’re thinking what I thought. Oh the broccoli is gonna be bland. The pasta is gonna be bland. The only flavor is gonna be in the fish everything and I mean everything had flavor put in balls. I mean, just look at it. Chefs kiss I will be back with friends and family. What’s crazy time to time I let AI help me but this post is from my heart and let’s face it my stomach too. Shhhhhheeeeesh

Google
We went on a fishing trip and brought our cleaned fish here! They cooked it up and gave us an amazing experience! The creamy pasta is FREAKING AMAZING! Hush puppies were great! Pizza was perfect!

Kyle F.

Google
We brought our fish from the boat today for a catch and cook. What a great plate of food. The nachos are awesome too. Fun place with the live music. Will definitely be back.

Google
Love this hidden gem in Galveston Texas we stumbled upon exploring the city before our cruise! Stopped in and checked it out before returning for Happy Hour drinks and food. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and the service and atmosphere were great! Highly recommend and will return myself when I’m back in town.

My husband and I have been coming to Galveston for a long time, and this was our first trip to Huli Huli Hut. It was recommended by some friends for a couple of years and we just never did come here. Well, let me tell ya, it was so good. It was getting fairly busy when we showed up on a Thursday late afternoon. We didn't have to wait to get seated. The server was quick with menus and getting our drink orders. We had our drinks within 5 minutes, and our food order was quick getting out as well. We decided to split an order of Daredevil Huli Hut fish tacos and started with Boudin Balls. Our food came out hot and delicious. Their wait staff was wonderful and very engaging. We highly recommend for your visit to the island.

Google
We caught some redfish and decided to try the catch and cook idea. We requested fried fish tacos and it was outstanding. We even had someone walk up to us asking which menu item it was so he could order one.

Yelp
I stopped by here a couple of days ago for lunch. We were at the Railroad Museum in Galveston around lunchtime when my wife pulled up Yelp to find somewhere to eat and came across the Huli Huli Hut. Since it was Sunday and there were plenty of TVs around the restaurant, you could catch almost any NFL game you wanted. Inside, the place had a laid-back, beachy feel with lots of colorful wall art, wood accents, and a large bar lined with taps and TVs showing the games. For lunch on this day, I decided on the oyster po' boy. The menu offered the choice of fried, grilled, or blackened shrimp or fish, or fried oysters with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. Our food took a little while to arrive, but it looked good when it did. My sandwich had plenty of fried oysters, and they were tasty with a breading that carried a little bit of spice. The tartar sauce added some welcome moisture and flavor too. Finally, the fries were excellent, super crispy on the outside, giving each bite a nice crunch. My twins especially loved those and cleared their plates. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought our food was good, and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while catching the football games.

Yelp
We stopped in during a walk about and were met with one of the rudest employees I've encountered in Galveston. We simply asked for a to-go drink -- which is completely normal and legal down here -- and were immediately shut down with attitude. I even mentioned that I work on the island and know the rules, and the employee basically snapped back with "so do I" in the most condescending tone. No effort to be helpful, welcoming, or professional whatsoever. Plenty of spots in Galveston are friendly and appreciate locals and service industry workers -- this is clearly not one of them. If you want good vibes and basic respect, take your business literally anywhere else.

Yelp
Chelsea was a rock star took great care of us. Good food great music. And Cocktails are the best

Yelp
Great service with Daniel! He gave us a great selection for crawfish, shrimp and blue crabs at a great deal. Crawfish is only available this week. Everything is extremely good especially the blue crabs which broiled and spicy. Great singing performances for a few hours at night.

Yelp
So the new location is very convenient but on this visit the bar staff and level of service is so not like other visits. When I asked for the happy hour menu stand was told it was just food and that Ultra beer is a premium beer I was a little taken back. Some bars during happy hour in clyde Ultra and some don't and I understand that but it was more the rudeness of the bartender. I've never experienced this at that old location. I decided not to order food and had one beer and left. Sad to see this change in a favorite locals place
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Appreciate being able to visit a spot that I've been told is where the locals go. My kinda place to grab some casual food and cocktails. Happy Hour runs from 3p-7p with specials on food and drinks. Staff is super friendly and make sure you're well taken of during your visit. Prices are very reasonable considering most places are trying g to get all of the "tourist dollars". The place overall is a vibe as the music plays and the energy is up. Enjoyable experience visiting the Huli Huli Hut

Yelp
We had a group of seven at lunchtime. The server did great! We ordered pizzas, burgers and appetizers at our table. I can comment on my breakfast burger, it was so delicious! The fries were plain, but not bad. The pizzas that others ordered at our table looked amazing and they said they were yummy. We'll be back for sure.

Yelp
DUDE THE BOIL SHRIMP WAS AMAZING *coming from a Mexican gal with taste* & enjoyed the vibe there

Yelp
In town for the night before our cruise. Coming from the DFW area we wanted some good seafood. So we set out early enough to get a table on a Friday night. The wait was only 20 minutes max around 6pm. This place is huge inside. We were led back to "garage" area. I wish we would have waited for an inside restaurant table. It looks like a converted garage and the lighting was horrible. So dark that we had to use our phones with light to see the menu. Also live music came in and we were right next to the stage. It was too loud to have a conversation with anybody at our table. The waiter was great and helpful in ordering. Loved the margarita I had. The service was a little slow and we got our appetizer at the same time as our dinner. Now, the Huli fries were awesome! Just wish it was times better. I had the fried seafood platter and it was good. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. I would recommend sitting inside if you want to have a conversation during dinner or more light to see.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Decided to come by for happy hour on a Friday, and it was very busy. However, the weight was well worth. They have happy hour cocktails for about six dollars, and they were delicious! The margarita was good, as were the other drinks on the menu. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating, but we waited for inside seating. Ordered the shrimp, scampi pasta, which was pretty good. A good amount of shrimps, and it was flavorful, but a little too oily. The chicken barbecue pizza was very filling. And tasty. The crawfish was fresh and affordable! The inside was rustic and casual, and the servers were extremely attentive and nice!

Kaitlin H.

Yelp
Great vibes, great service, food was delicious, especially the pizza. The live band was mistaken for amateur karaoke though.

Yelp
This was my first experience at the Huli Huli Hut But it won't be my last It's a nice laid back atmosphere Good music great service (Clarissa) was an amazing server.and the food was great The Boil Bag was delicious, no crab or crawfish was left behind , and the corn and potatoes weren't neglected either . Next time you're in Galveston go visit .
google avatar

Yelp
I came to Huli Huli Hut hungry after a 21 mile bike ride and left satisfied Po Boy (Blackened Shrimp with Spici fries) | 8/10 I wanted a poboy, and boi... did they deliver. It's simple. It's delicious. It was greatly complemented with floppy bread. The reason I said that that bread complemented it is because it made it easy to wrap around all the shrimp. The spicy fries were good too! Regarding Service, it's a little bit slow - but you have to remember that you're on island time. Ambience is great. It's loud, colorful, and transports you into a Hawaiian hut. Funny enough, they're playing Shark Tank while I was in there props to your team, Huli Huli Hut, that was educationally on-brand. In Galveston, you don't have as much of an abundance of restaurants as Houston... BUT there are still some great spots. I'd say Huli Huli is one of them

Yelp
Recommended place to eat from the girl that checked me into my hotel. Hole in the wall. Chill vibe. Service and the food were amazing. Let the waitress bring me her favorite thing on the menu. Will 100% be coming back.

Courtney M.

Yelp
The Huli Huli Hut is back and better than ever! The new crab cakes were the best ever FULL of tasty crab! The shrimp kisses of course best in town! We had great service the food was so fresh and tasty as ever. The ambiance is same as you come to expect from the other location. Lots of fun murals and some of the wooden tables made it over. The new location is clean larger and making improvements everyday.

Ruth C.

Yelp
ALL THINGS AMAZING! You have to eat here!!! After coming to Galveston a few times and people recommending this place, we finally gave it a try and we LOVED IT!! Our waitress Donna was so great! And the GM Mike came to our table several times. We were on the hunt for a good seafood boil restaurant in town and we could not find a good one so we ate at Joes Crab Shack. I know I know...yuck! But on our last night we decided to eat here and realized they had seafood boil platters that were DELICIOUS!!!! Live music that was not too loud. Great atmosphere. Exceptional service and even more exceptional food! This will for sure be our go to spot from now on!

Yelp
Was such a fun place when it was Sharkeys, but it had definitely gone down hill as Huli Hut! We went around 8-9 on a Saturday and orded friend zucchini only to have them come back about 5 mins later to inform us they don't have any. Ok... we ordered something else. My boyfriend asked for Diet Coke. Nope. Only Diet Dr. Pepper. Ok.. he got Diet Dr. Pepper. We then decided to close with bartender and go to a table where our friends were. I asked my bf if he'd get me another drink. The bartender then tells him HE is cut off cause his eyes and face are red... umm.. well... he's a diabetic (hence the 2 diet drinks he had) and he had not had a SINGLE alcoholic drink, as she should know since she literally just finished serving us... but nope. He's cut off. I asked the manager about all this and he said Nope. I have to stand behind her decision. So... the sober guy gets cut off but I can order a drink.... I think y'all see where I'm going with this.. we went next door, had a wonderful time, spent plenty of money and will never, EVER go back to Hulu Hulu Hut!!!! Too many GOOD places in Galveston to go!! Don't waste your time!!!

Leonard S.

Yelp
I love this place , the old place burned up and I came to Galveston from Conroe just to eat there and was so sad it was closed down that was back in early April and Just came back today to see if maybe by chance they were back open and there was a sign showing new address and we headed straight there and just like always food is superb and wait staff was awesome .Manny our waiter was very kind and did a great job.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
NOT Hawaiian at all... it should not be listed as such. Food is tasty, just a loud environment. Service was great! They were out of crab though and that's what we came here for :/
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
My husband tossed a paper towel roll to the table behind us that had no one sitting at it .My husband asked the waitress to bring us another roll of paper towels. Because we were eating crawfish. She went and told the management that we were being aggressive & that my husband threw the roll at her.. So the management came over and asked us to leave. Without asking us our side of the story. Without asking any of the eight other people that were out of our table their story. He just asked us to leave .We will never eat at this place. again and we are locals! This was unbelievable treatment. Not only was she lying. But we didn't get to finish our dinner . then, as we were leaving the restaurant, staff followed us out and threatened to call the police for us driving drunk. my husband had nothing to drink. do not give these people your money unless you are in for a horrific evening..

Joe A.

Yelp
Use to eat at the old one, tried the new place and it was amazing. Food was so on point. We had the Gulf Balls as an appetizer, they were to die for. The kids and I had the special. 3 blue crab, 6 huge shrimp and a pound of crawfish. OMG! It was sooooo good. Service was quick and friendly. Has a bit different decore but you can certainly tell you're on the coast. Ambiance was great. Loved it!

Carole N.

Yelp
Typical beach bar & restaurant. Had fried oysters - generous & good. Catfish - 3 huge filets that were great. Thick and tasty. Hamburger - way overcooked. Dried out. Good service.

Alexis S.

Yelp
So good. Got crawfish, shrimp, and a boudin link. Service was okay. Price was good for the amount of food we got.
google avatar

L W.

Yelp
Amazing food. Fried fish and shrimp were good and hubbys grilled chicken salad was good but the ranch salad dressing was a bit watery, almost to no taste. There were many tropical drink selections to choose from and the one I had was very good. It wasnt too strong but just right. Fried pickle slices were a nice appetizer choice and they even were fried perfectly. The service was decent, friendly and the atmosphere was casual with a very unique decor. This place is always worth a visit.

Yelp
I went fishing at the Galveston pier and someone recommended this place for lunch. They spoke very highly of it so I gave it a try. We ordered raw oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. Both tasted mediocre--not so bad, not so good, just average. For our entrees, we ordered fish and shrimp. The Huli Fish and Shrimp was actually pretty tasty, especially with the white sauce on top. Their seafood seems to be very fresh and seasoned well. The ambiance was very casual. We received pretty good service, too. I would like to come back and try their seafood boils!

Nancy S.

Yelp
Love the vibe and the pina colada with a floater is a bonus. We had previously eaten but the food being served looked great.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Probably the best place we tried in Galveston. Great choice if you like seafood for a decent price. We ordered the crawfish, crab, shrimp combo spicy. Absolutely delicious and some of the best I've ever had. I ordered an extra egg as well. We also came right around happy hour and got to try some of their delicious cocktails. A must stop if you're in the area!
google avatar

Leslie F.

Yelp
Food was Fab! Loved it! Try the Tropical Chicken pizza! But, have 'em hold the chicken, it really doesn't need it! HUGE peel and eat Shrimp, loved the cocktail sauce too, just the right spicy. And 1 of our geoup had the crabbing and it looked so delicious, she thought so! Excellent service. Kitchy ambiance, fun place
google avatar

Stuart P.

Yelp
The menu was smaller than some I saw online due to their recent relocation due to a fire at their old spot, but the food was great and reasonably priced! The tacos were a great deal and huge!!! They were very accommodating in subbing and changing up orders and the service was friendly and prompt. Seating inside was full so we did have to sit outside.
google avatar

Huong E.

Yelp
Food and service was great! Very laid back island feel restaurant with amazing drinks on the menu to get the party started. Service was excellent for our party of 15. We were able to celebrate my birthday island style. The bacon kissed shrimp was the highlight. Delicious! Scallops and the crab stuffed flounder. All highly recommended. My lemondrop martini was on point! Overall a wonderful evening enjoying dinner and drinks.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
Always great food. Great service. Our waitress was great and super accommodating! She kept going back to check to see when the crawfish were coming in. Totally worth the wait! Flown in out of season. Great atmosphere. Plenty of seating in and outside. Great music as well.
google avatar

Deidra B.

Yelp
We have been here quite a few times in the last year. Much improved from my last review. The food has been consistently good, especially liking the blackboard specials. Last time we went we had a table of 7 and our orders did get a bit mixed up, but our server was working her tail off. The food was delicious we had a snow crab and crawfish special, and it really hit the spot!! This is a casual spot so no dress up needed!
google avatar

Linh P.

Yelp
I went on Tuesday (May 30th) and crawfish are a little smaller now and not as fresh. It's probably starting to get out of season now. It was still tasty though. My boyfriend enjoyed the burger here as well. We got a lot of the appetizers as well. My group really liked the nachos and said the cheese on the nachos was really good. We also got the hell fries, which had a nice kick to it as well (I think it's cayenne pepper). Calamari had a nice batter to it.

Sarita O.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! But I understand that the restaurant has moved recently. I'm not sure where to put that won't affect us going in the near future!
google avatar

Ayuno C.

Yelp
Food is mid at best for its prices. Staff and manager are very rude and condescending. We received flat sodas, waitress advised there's no way they could be flat because she just poured them out the can but did bring us new ones, which were flat as well and we were charged for all drinks, even the ones we didn't consume. We felt a lot of animosity towards our table for whatever reason. Some of our food was forgotten. Terrible experience, will not be returning.
google avatar

Lance R.

Yelp
The wife and I second visit here and it it was everything we remembered from the first time. Great atmosphere as well as service.

Darla W.

Yelp
Great place for dinner. Loved the atmosphere, delicious food and service was great. Would recommend if in Galveston Tx.

Caleigh T.

Yelp
Food was good made up for the AWFUL service. took forever to check checked on, even longer to get our waters then forever to get our bar drinks. ordered appetizers, one never showed up, everyone's food came out at different times, and the waitress was dropping food off at multiple tables at the same time, didn't know where anything went. after 20 minutes of ordering i got told they were out of crawfish and my replacement offer was mussels or shrimp, i took shrimp and they still tried to charge me full price for the meal i originally ordered. cooks doing their job right was the only good thing about this place.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
This is definitely a super cool place to go for drinks and eats. The ambiance is super fun and beachy with an open layout, unique beachy decor and art. I've been for happy hour a few times and it's always solid. The service isn't the best, but it's not bad by any means. This visit the server almost seemed annoyed we weren't ordering more or turning the table quicker. There were three of us, and we all ordered a drink, a meal, and shared an appetizer. The queso was very good! Our drinks were good. I had a margarita and they had a punch one that they both enjoyed. I had the spinach salad and they both had a quesadilla (one chicken, one shrimp). They both had leftovers bc the quesadilla was so big. The salad was huge! I was disappointed the waiter gave me the wrong dressing and never checked in to ask how the food was or if we needed anything, because I wanted the balsamic and not ranch. Other than that, the food was truly good. Lots of people in the restaurant were enjoying the delicious seafood! The crawfish looked and smelled great, we just weren't in the mood for it. Also, it's definitely family friendly! I really appreciated that there's a changing table in the women's restroom- they can be hard to find at times.
google avatar

Frederick S.

Yelp
Food is pretty good. My pizza was great. Service was very poor. Although others helped me out and were very nice. Ambiance was different but nice. I will go again but if I am assigned the same waitress I will leave or insist on moving to a different table.
google avatar

Douglas B.

Yelp
Adam and Cortney are the owners and are some of the finest people I've ever known. Jose the Manager and the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. I've always had a great experience. The food and drinks are excellent!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Great lil place AWAY from the crowds...glad we found this "treasure" years ago...we come back every time we're in Galveston!

Angel C.

Yelp
Terrible experience. we had a table of 8 it took around 40 minutes to get a server at our table. we went ahead and ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The food came out before our drinks which we all had waters. we asked plenty of times for silverware and sauce and it took along time as well. everyone finished there food by the time my friend got his which was about 30-40 mins.
google avatar

Janisah Amirah S.

Yelp
Well seasoned crawfish. Very rugged ambiance and seems like you can take your dog here as I've seen some people take theirs and they do have outdoor seating. Servers are super nice and attentive!

Tanya W.

Yelp
Went to Huli Huli Hut for dinner on Friday. the place was packed so we ate at the bar. I ordered a Mai tai and my husband had a Black Russian. Both drinks were made perfectly. For dinner I had crawfish and blue crab and my husband had fried shrimp. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The bar staff was friendly and engaging. Thanks Nina and Tiffany. We had a good time and we will be back.
google avatar

Barbara L.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere were great! Sat outside as the weather was very nice. Server was polite, on time and very attentive. We will be back.

Kar R.

Yelp
The food was wonderfully cooked. We started with the fried peppers stuffed with seafood! The special was red fish with scallops in a very light white sauce with broccoli and rice with green peppers. The rice was cooked perfect without a heavy green pepper aftertaste. Live music served up a great time. Service was accommodating with changing tables( originally next to a large floor fan so my food would have cooled quickly). Great place to hang out at the hit!
google avatar

Cilicia L.

Yelp
This place is fun right when you walk in. Lots of tropical island style painting on the walls with a fantasy flaire. I loved the mermaid and the pirate, climbing down from the ceiling. Service could have been better. We waited a while just to get water. My drink was delicious. The food was good, other than overcooked broccoli. Both kids were happy with their food, which is saying something. I would recommend for a fun evening out.

Yelp
What an amazingly wonderful hole in the wall on Galveston isle. Pricing is super reasonable. Staff is awesome'. The Mussels are next level. As is the stuffed stuffed flounder or stuffed stuffed flounder. It is in our island dining rotation always'.
