Yelp
I created a Yelp account just to say that the service and drinks were amazing. Nico, our server, was extremely attentive and had fantastic suggestions. The drinks that were brought to us were so good. The vibes are immaculate, my friends and I cannot be happier with our time here. We will definitely be back soon. Friday nights are extremely busy so it was quite difficult to get drinks quick, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Yelp
We used to love this place, but unfortunately, we won't be back after our most recent visit. This was our favorite speakeasy gastropub. Now it's a regrettable choice for a date night with so many better options in Boston. They were out of ingredients for their signature craft cocktails. The menu is extremely limited. The bartender forgot to serve me the drink I ordered. And the sink in the bathroom wasn't working. Not what you would expect for an upscale Gastropub. I felt sorry for the staff. They were clearly understaffed. Honestly, if they would've just fixed the sink in the bathroom, I would've given them three stars. My message to management: FIX THE SINK in the bathroom! That just nasty. You might forgive a broken bathroom sink at a Cumberland Farms gas station but not at a restaurant with $20 cocktails. This place can't possibly stay in business with the cutthroat restaurant competition in the city.

Yelp
This was a terrible experience. I was really excited after reading about this speakeasy with a large whiskey collection and Japanese pop-up menu. So, we came in on a Friday night and asked the host for a table. She expressed that they were busy and brought us to a lounge area. I had to ask if these were our permanent seats because it was unclear. We liked the atmosphere, though our area had some lights brighter than I like for a speakeasy. I was super excited by the advertising of the large whiskey menu. We were celebrating, so 3 of us decided to each order a whiskey flight at $55. We also decided to order a few apps, but they told us they were out of the tuna appetizer we wanted, so we stuck with edamame and gyoza. The edamame and gyoza came out quickly and we still did not have our drinks. The edamame were described as having yuzu salt but I honestly think it was straight from a Trader Joe's frozen bag. The gyoza tasted like that as well. From this, we decided we would not get anymore food. We still were waiting for our drinks and now our food is getting cold. We now start to get annoyed -- we ordered flights, which involves just pouring the whiskey, not even making a cocktail. We asked the waitress where the drinks were and she was very nice but unsure. Almost an hour passes and still no drinks. Ultimately we told the waitress to cancel the drinks and we left. This was truly one of the worst experiences I've had in Boston or anywhere really, it was almost comical. I hope this was just an off experience but I unfortunately will not be returning or recommending this spot.

Yelp
This place used to be great. We had dinner here last night and the service was really bad. The food and overpriced drinks were similarly sub par. Details: Drinks: $18-20/ cocktail and they were overly sweet, unbalanced, and why is elderflower in everything? Food: very basic menu with only 10 items, and one wasn't even available at 7pm on a Saturday. Edamame (!) of all things was totally inedible. Service: had to flag the server each time to order a drink, order food, and pay. No one picked up dishes, no one asked how our food was. Service is more personable and attentive at Applebees. Ambience- cool space. That's it.

Yelp
The bill is the only thing that will come fast around here. The vibe and decor is that of a classy place, but the food is comparable to a sports bar like Yardhouse. My pork was salty and a bit tough. The restaurant is very loud and service is slow. Try the jazz bar down the street instead .

Yelp
Went to Wink & Nod with a group after work and had a great time. It was a Tuesday so the service was a little on the slow side but the waiter was impeccable. He wrote nothing down for our table of 7 but remembered everything perfectly. The drinks were amazing! Super creative and nothing like I'd had before. The food though was so-so. The burrata and the Black truffle Arancini were excellent. For dinner I had the zucchini fritters and tuna cannoli which was simply tuna in a cannoli shell, which just wasn't for me. I'd go back again for drinks and a few apps but would do dinner elsewhere.

Lily R.

Yelp
Had a great experience the other night my drinks were great along with the food. I believe jules was are bartender she had great service and great recommendations with the menu. I will definitely be going back here!

Yelp
Went with a group of 5 on a Friday night for drinks before a 7:30 dinner reservation. Between the 5 of us, I think we tried every cocktail on the menu and were not disappointed by any of them. We also got a few small bites which were unique and flavorful takes on some of my favorite things (like gyoza). I honestly saw so many other things we would have ordered for small bites if we didn't have dinner already planned. Our waiter was really sweet and attentive and overall it was a cozy, great place I'd definitely go back to for drinks after work.

Annika T.

Yelp
Unfortunate... I wanted to give this place a chance with such a cool ambiance (4.5/5), but the tuna crudo cannolis were extremely disappointing (2/5) - room temperature, no flavor in the tuna, overpowered by sweetness of the cannoli that just didn't work. The arancini was fine, not the best I've had (4/5). We ordered a whisky flight and asked if our server could tell us a little about the drinks, but he didn't even know their names, just pointed out they were ordered from light to dark. I understand what the place is trying to be, but they need a menu makeover and some more enthused and knowledgeable staff. If you already know your whisky and aren't looking for a bite to eat, this spot is worth adding to your list.

Yelp
Had an amazing date at Wink & Nod. The truffle fries and pork roll were amazing. But our server Corey was the best part - accommodating, fun, and complimentary to the date. Fingers crossed we get him again

Yelp
Exquisite and cozy speakeasy! The food was delicious, my favorite was the butternut squash, the creaminess of the squash paired well with the crunchy grains. I got the So What cocktail, which has Belvedere, hazelnut liquor, chai, coffee syrup and a few other ingredients. I thought it was good, not too sweet, but slightly overpriced for what it was ($18). Not too hard find, and it can get pretty busy, so reservations are recommended. The wait staff was slow and it took a while for them to take our order, give us our check, etc. I also mentioned it was my friend's birthday in the reservation, but it amounted to nothing...which I understand due to how busy the location was. Overall, great ambiance, good food! Will be back to try some of their other drinks

Stephon M.

Yelp
Great place to have a high quality cocktail! The bartender and service was great and i actually learned a lot just hanging at the bar asking questions. Ambiance gives off solid speakeasy vibes.

Jay K.

Yelp
The manager is a class act all the way! The fire alarm went off because of smoke on the sixth floor and after a brief evacuation, he comped all of us drinks and apologized profusely. It's an electric and funky place with great food and drinks and a nod (see what I did there?) to an old-school speakeasy. Good luck with parking (if you drive) but I guess ride-sharing can easily solve that problem.

Maggie A.

Yelp
My husband and I always try to seek out speakeasy style cocktail bars in cities that we visit. We lucked out with Wink & Nod, just around the corner from the StayPineapple Hotel. The bar has a simple sign in front (not hard to find but not flashy), and you walk a few steps down to another door for the bar. We walked in at 8pm without a reservation, but we were able to grab one seat at the bar, and about 10 minutes in, another opened up for us. The cocktails we chose tasted great, with pretty garnishes and both cold and warm options for those chilly Boston nights. The only downside was that the drinks took forever to make, because there were only 2 bartenders serving a bar full of 60+ people. I felt bad because it's not really their fault - maybe short staffed that night? - and they were apologetic. (One of the hosts gave me a free nonalcoholic cocktail when the person who ordered it abruptly left.) We kept it to just two cocktails each and called it a night around 11pm. Still a great bar with a nice vibe, but hope they can get more staff.

Meghan B.

Yelp
Unfortunately the whole experience here was so below average. As a "speakeasy" it didn't feel intimate or warm in the least. My boyfriend asked for a suggestion for a fun twist on a whiskey sour and he literally was handed a whiskey sour - everything felt uninspired and that we were an inconvenience. For a Tuesday as well, not worth the effort. Maybe the rotating chef and menu is chill but otherwise I would say pass. We wished we would have stayed at beehive - service was great and music was awesome there.

Eva A.

Yelp
3.5** We made a reservation for 5:45, and only 2 other parties were there which made it feel awkwardly empty. There also wasn't any music playing so the ambiance was a bit off putting. Also, I wouldn't say it's a real speakeasy as there is signage out front. Feels more like an upscale basement bar. However, the drinks are SO good! The alcohol is so well hidden, but they are strong! Very unique flavor combos too- "the best I've ever had" is cranberry forward, yet subtly amaretto-y. "Autumn leaves" is very refreshing, but didn't strike me as very autumnal. "My favorite things" is a bit stronger on the alcohol, but still a tiny bit sweet, and the bartender lights the cinnamon stick when served. My favorite part of the evening was our bartender Jakob. He was so interesting to talk to and entertained our conversations, and even gave us free cocktails as he was 'developing the upcoming menu' (they rotate by season) and wanted feedback. I can't stop thinking about the strawberry/mint/chocolate bitters one (don't remember the name). I would come back solely for this drink and Jakob. We also got the zucchini fritters, which were decadent and not overly fried. The ricotta cheese has a kick to it, but it's not overwhelming. Overall, knocking off stars for the vibe of the place (it didn't fill up even close to 9pm, so it was just too big and empty), but both the food and drinks menus are incredible.

Igor R.

Yelp
Went in here in a Tuesday evening, sat at the bar and it was fairly open. Old-school ambiance, calm lighting - felt classy. Actually reminded me of Eastern Standard before they closed, and I say that with love and fondness. Cocktails were expertly crafted and the service was warm and friendly. Great experience overall, I'd be happy to come back anytime.

Yelp
Let me just say that this place has completely changed from my first visit several years ago. When I went last weekend, I literally could not have left the place any faster. Everything was moving at a snail's pace from a service perspective once we were seated but that was really the least of the issues. Starting with drinks, both my dining companion and I had gotten mocktails where the server had just asked for us to describe the flavors we generally like. We gave him the descriptions and when he returned with the drinks, we got no explanation of what was made for us, and we specifically overheard the bartender giving him an overview of what each of the drinks were. I found myself not really knowing what I was drinking - it just felt like drinking pineapple juice since I wasn't able to pinpoint what else was added. It sucks knowing the bartender put effort into crafting these drinks and the server just plopped them on the table and asked if we wanted to order any food. I also want to call out their online menu is out of date as when we asked for one of the drinks on the online menu, we were told that entire section of the menu was no longer served. The food was lackluster at best, we were a little turned off by the service around the drinks so we played it safe and just ordered an appetizer to start. We were willing to overlook the lack of service we were receiving if the food was good. Based on the menu descriptions, we got the arancini and it came out simultaneously overcooked and lukewarm at the same time. It was a single arancini that was overly brown on the outside, but there was a lukewarm clump of cheese on the inside that left you with a weird mouthfeel. While I think the components of the dish were well thought out, the actual execution of the dish was terrible. Based on this dish, we decided to end our dining experience at Wink and Nod - deciding to head to a different restaurant in the surrounding area for entrees and dessert. Even when we were trying to pay our bill, there was a lot of confusion from the service staff. We had asked a member of the team for the check and subsequently gave her our card to close the bill out. We saw her chatting with our server so we figured that she was telling him that our table was closing out - but two minutes after, our server came over and asked us if we wanted to order more food. The Wink and Nod space has so much potential but right now I would recommend any other bar in the area. The decor is well thought out but the entire restaurant was silent when we arrived at 7:30 pm. There was just quiet chatter around the bar area. The ambiance would greatly benefit from some background music - doesn't have to be loud, but the silence is off putting. Overall Vibes - 2/10 Food - 1/10 Drinks - 4/10 Service - 1/10

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner and drinks to celebrate a birthday. The place is nicely decorated inside with a speakeasy vibe. Service seemed a little confusing as we had multiple servers try to take our drink and food orders but I believe they were in training. The drinks were great and they had some unique options that aren't on the website. Believe I had a variation on an espresso martini with chai. The food was just OK, was expecting a lot more. I would return for the cocktails but skip the food.

Yelp
If you are looking for GROWN & SEXY, well you've found it! This is exactly, where you take that person on a first date. It's dark and vibey. The they have the beautiful bar area with all of the chandeliers casting a glow throughout the bar. Drinks are A1. The apps are hitting in the way they should. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
I was really sad about my most recent visit to Wink and Nod. Will start by saying the arancini was amazing and my drink was great, but the service just negated everything else. After a great first visit a few months ago I brought my partner since I knew he would love the atmosphere of the place, but our service lacked from beginning to end. Manager Sean spent so much time at our table with nothing to show for it. He greeted us well and spent time talking up a drink to my partner, but we never got the drink. Manager also took our cocktail and app orders in the beginning of our visit, only to find out from our waiter when he got to the table about 20 minutes after our arrival that the manager never told him anything about the items we ordered... and it wasn't busy when we first arrived. At the end of our visit the drink we never got showed up on the bill and the manager did take it off, but this is the kicker, he offered the drink on the house and it never came either (after already not receiving it the first time). By that point we weren't sure if the place was understaffed/so busy the manager forgot everything or if he was messing with us. On top of that when looking at my final credit card charges a few days later the total was incorrect and I was still overcharged somehow. We only got apps because the service was so slow/choppy that we weren't willing to stick around and wait longer for dinner. Great vibes and love the idea of the culinary program, but service lacks hard when it's not slow.

Shemesh Y.

Yelp
Old-style, heavy wood decor, which was beautiful. Great drinks. Okay-minus food (dishes were not very flavorful and we're fairly small for the price charged, see photos. We also had an overpriced, no flavor aranchini, and a tiny portion of Felicia chicken liver with a terrible combination of pita). The surprise of the night were 2 rats(!!!) that were running around between the tables and couches on the second floor!

Abby V.

Yelp
Service is great! Our bartender was gracious enough to serve us his creations. The drinks were delicious. He surprised us with great drinks. I always want to discover what other places serve at their bars. Will definitely come back.

Melissa F.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Had to post a review because the wagyu burger was easily the best burger I've tasted and the staff were efficient and friendly. Also tried the crispy tuna, which was flavorful, it has nice texture, and the presentation was quite pretty. Great atmosphere and the restaurant is gorgeous inside. Felt so fancy!

Andrew A.

Yelp
Wandered over here after work today and had a blast. Our server Edwin was friendly and knowledgeable. Cocktails were among the best I've had in the city, and the food (an Italian pop up) was packed with great flavor. We will absolutely be back here

Nicki L.

Yelp
We arrived 20 minutes early to our reservation. The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to chill and start on drinks in the lounge. We were then seated in the sunken down space by the bar. I liked this spot the best! We tried several different cocktails and each was delicious. Our favorite was the Tea Party which had Earl Grey in it! We did not have any food, but would certainly return again to try it!

Kaeleigh M.

Yelp
My wife and I visited because of the proximity to our hotel, and we are so glad we did! The ambiance, service, and cocktails were so good that we visited two nights in a row. We will be visiting again when we return to Boston!

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Overall decent time but wouldn't go back. Pros: we had a cozy table. Wait staff was lovely. Service was good. Drinks were good and beautiful to look at. Cons: hard to find street parking in the area. Very loud. Zero cellphone service as you're in a basement level building. But the real con is the food. The food is tapas style which I generally love but nothing was all that great. It was overall ok, but not memorable. There was one dish that was so dry and overcooked that we had to send it back and that was the short rib. When we sent it back the waitress was kind as could be and offered to replace it with another item. The steak was very good. Fries were flavorful but over salted. The hummus and pita was delicious but at the same time....it's just hummus, like how hard is that to make well. We got one other dish, similar to an arepa. It was good...but just not worth going back for. At the end of the day their tapas were nowhere near the level of a place like toro, for examp Perhaps this place is really good for just their beautiful, tasty cocktails.

Beatrice M.

Yelp
How lucky are we that we found this place! Apparently they're super busy over the weekends and we happened upon this amazing space by a whim. It's sexy. Very sexy space. Very inviting. Sat at bar and chatted with the chef and bartender. They were extremely nice. Service a++. Ambiance a+++ and Taste+++. Heavy on the craft cocktails. We did have a friend order a mock tail, which was also yummy. I highly recommend starting here for a happy hour with a group or just alone.

Rosemary S.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a long time and was a little underwhelmed. I feel like instagram gives the impression that this is a restaurant with great cocktails when it is more of a cocktail/whiskey/scotch tasting bar which has some bar bites. Food is very overpriced and small portions. Credit where credit is due, the crudo and hummus were both delicious. There was just a comically small amount. The entire serving of hummus was a four hit two inch smear. The cocktails also tasted great, but again tiny portions. Don't get a dirty martini, it was very bland. If you're trying to have a full meal here you're either going to have to order half the menu or you'll leave hungry. Service was friendly and helpful and they successfully captured the dark, warm understated speakeasy vibe. To come back I'd have to feel more optimistic about the quality to shtick ratio.

Yelp
AMBIENCE: 4/5 - Reminds me of the old school Harvard clubs with the dimly lit lights in a yellow hue gilded in gold. The leather lounge chairs and dark mahogany shelves towering from wall to ceiling is all that you need - Not as hidden as I had hoped for a speakeasy? First time here (have been waiting for the reopen since they closed for the pandemic) but longtime veteran of the speakeasy scene and honestly I thought I would have to work to find this place but there was golden plaque with the name in black letters SERVICE: 3/5 - We were greeted with a smile and was seated immediately. First thought was that it was pretty empty. I knew it was a Monday night but it was a 3 day weekend and I've always heard it was hard to get reservations at W&N so I had assumed it would be bustling even on a weekday night. Granted, they might still be bouncing back from the pandemic. - Glanced at the menu and knew of 2-3 cocktails I wanted to start with but unsure of which order would be better for a progression of flavors in the pallet. I asked the server and he looked confused? when I asked him which ones he would recommend first. He didn't seem to understand what I meant so then I asked him if he could describe the general flavors of the cocktails so then I can figure out which would work first. I feel as someone working in a cocktail bar/speakeasy, all of the staff should be trained extensively on their signature cocktail menu. Even if he didn't know enough to recommend a cohesive order of the tasting, he should at least know enough about the drinks than to reply to me "that's vodka in there" ect. FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 - The Tea Party (4/5) = I'm an all-time favorite of elderflower liquor and gin is my favorite spirit. I definitely tasted the lemon and the earl grey, not so much the allspice. A solid cocktail, but flavor wise it wasn't anything new/inventive that I haven't tried before with gin + elderflower - La Dispute (5/5) = absolutely loved the peach de creama that gave this drink a sweet tang. My friend who is very picky with cocktails liked it too. Good for someone who likes their cocktails more citrus and sweet. Would've preferred to be able to taste the gin a bit more but that's just me, would still order again OVERVIEW: - Glad to finally have a chance to try this place. Moved to Boston 1 year before the pandemic, never got a chance to try it and now it's been closed down for 3+ years or so. Good ambience and solid cocktails, but the drinks weren't as renovating as I had hoped for it to be. The cocktails weren't conversation starters and the staff needs a bit more training but it's still a solid place to catch up with a friend with a good cocktail in hand

Ali A.

Yelp
Came here with a party of six for dinner yesterday. First off, the ambiance is beautiful and the place is really cozy. We understood that we were going to be receiving small plates, but the advice we received was not consistent. Our waitress gave us confusing advice, and people ended up under ordering. Now, when it came time to eat, it was a bit of a disaster service wise. We're a party of six. Our plates dropped in one by one over the course of more than an hour. So we basically watched each other eat small tapa style plates one by one. It was really weird. We only got our water refilled when we asked, everything was just slower than it should have been. The food itself was delicious. Just really well done and satisfying in terms of taste and presentation. However, I definitely wouldn't advise having a larger group here.

Emma T.

Yelp
Very nice ambiance. The bar was crowded and first come first served, so we had to wait. There wasn't any where ideal to stand and wait. It was worth it. The drinks were very good. They did run out of ingredients for about 4 drinks by the time we got there around 9pm on a weekend. Prices were standard.

Angie W.

Yelp
Cool, vibey place off the beaten path. Drinks were unique and delicious, service was great! Loved the music, also.

J. Scott J.

Yelp
Emma, one of the managers is awesome. Very friendly, welcoming. Service was great. Love the vibes of the bar itself. Ordered the apple crisp and it was delicious. Definitely worth coming back. 4 stars only because I wish the selection of whiskey was bigger.

Megha U.

Yelp
Amazing times here! Surprised the place was poppin even on a Wednesday evening- loved it. Drinks were great but the food was even better Highly recommend 10/10

John T.

Yelp
This is a super cool spot, great vibe, lively, super friendly and engaging staff. Really fun, I would definitely meet here for a drink at the bar in the future. We were a party of 5. Service was slow and the food was pretty meh. Our appetizers beat our first round of drinks to the table. Seems nit-picky maybe, but the thing is, we had ordered the drinks at least 10-15 minutes before we put the apps in. It took us another round to figure out that we needed to order the next round when the drinks showed up. Drinks were great when they did show up. Server was upbeat, high energy and attentive. The food was not special, I wouldn't eat here again. The truffle arancini were pretty bland, definitely did not taste very truffly (?). Mains were also not special, just kind of boring. The portions were on the smaller side but in a good way. We had lasagna, fish and spinach pasta, the fish was the winner here. We weren't feeling all bloated and gross afterwards. But I don't think any of us finished our meals either. We didn't stick around for desert. Great, super fun spot to sit at the bar (where your drinks will probably show up more quickly) and have a drink or two. Hit someplace else for dinner.

Paul D.

Yelp
Food was great. As was service. But the feeling of being in a secret Boston club made it awesome!

L F.

Yelp
Upscale speakeasy with rich, dark atmosphere and fantastic cocktails. Men's steakhouse and old school gentleman's club vibe did not deter us from enjoying a fabulous girls night.

Stefanie L.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at wink and nod! The vibes were intimate by cool and our server (wearing many many rings) was so friendly and helpful! She helped us pick out drinks that were right for us. The people I was with love the Tea Party drink. I can't remember the name of my drink but it was pink and delicious. Works for sure go back! Oh what the hummus, delicious!!

Jay M.

Yelp
The food was outstanding. But now we're waiting for a table somewhere else, because the service moved at a glacial pace and they had 86d desserts before 5pm for some reason. Shockingly, there are no remaining seats in town to get a snack, and it's a little insulting that making a reservation apparently doesn't guarantee you food on the menu. If I'd known that 50% of the items I had wanted weren't available, I would have gone somewhere else. The chef (Sub Rosa) is incredibly talented, and he would do well anywhere he went.

Daniel P.

Yelp
This place is the definition of CONFUSED. At first glance it is a cool speakeasy with an old school feel and vibe. But the longer you sit, eat, and drink you realize that nothing melds or makes sense. Starting with the drinks, my fiancé and I ordered 2 of their specialty drinks. The service to make them took longer than it took for our apps to come out. And they were lackluster. A poor excuse for their "take" on an old fashioned which tasted just of straight whiskey. The bar overall doesn't seem to have a focus. Just funny names for existing drinks and pompous "spins" on classics. The food was... just ok. The cavatelli was good but just like everything else, the portions were abysmally small for the value. Not to mention their other dishes were fairly sad. Including the kofta which were overly acidic, almost as tho they were trying to cover up the taste of lamb. The thing that's worst about the food, it's all over the place. Is it Asian? Is it Latin? Is it bar? Tapas? The menu isn't cohesive or good for that. The service was also just ok, at least for table service. Along with the food, drinks, and service, the ambience was confusing. The music started as rat pack, but went to chubby checker and rock and roll. Funk, soul, rock, where jazz should probably be. And the decor as well... Asian wallpaper. Tiger print carpet. 70's print armchairs next to 40's style leather couches and booths. Safe to say, not worth the hype and ESPECIALLY not worth the cost.

Yelp
Had dinner with friends last Saturday night and have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. Could not really find any redeeming qualities for either the front of house or back of house. First let me preface that the restaurant was not full and there seemed like plenty of servers and hosts on hand. The service was so poor. It took forever to place a drink order then once we had our drinks our server was MIA for what seemed like 15-20 minutes. I did notice home talking with other servers and host staff but walked past us several times without even looking at us. Finally place app order. The apps were very subpar. The zucchini fritters looked more like croquettes and were so spicy even the ricotta could combat the heat. The crudo cannoli was also bad. No flavor the cannoli just broke up making it impossible to eat and the flavors just did not pair well. The shrimp parm was also bland and not crispy as described. The only decent app was the eggplant caponata. Entrees were just as disappointing. The wagu burger was so overcooked it had to be sent back and it was just a burger in a plate not even a little garnish. The spinach pasta was a pile of glop. Looked like bad leftovers after being microwaved. And again you couldn't sprinkle a little parm on top to make it appear appetizing? Lasagna was ok but had so much lemon it was like dessert. The cod puttanesca was just swimming in sauce it was hard to find the few bites of cod. The worst is finally getting the bull and seeing we were charged for bread! Four little crostini pieces that tasted like theater popcorn. One of the hosts did finally stop by as we were waiting to pay and I told him my feelings. He was half apologetic but I'm sure it will go no further. I've been to many restaurants in Boston in all sorts of price ranges but this place was truly the worst. No one checked on how our food was, and not once did I see a host working the floor and checking in with guests. That's just poor management. Again the restaurant was not by any means slammed.

Kate P.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 5 and were sat in the bar at a round table not large enough for our party. Our reservation was for 6:45pm and we were the first guests of the evening to arrive. The bartender did not write our drinks down and was not able to remember all of the drinks on the first round. We had to remind him of the forgotten drink. When we ordered a second round he never brought them over. We ordered all three spreads which were served with a toasted pita. We ordered a few vegetarian plates and a seafood ramen to share with the intention to order more food, but the service was so slow that we ended up leaving and getting more food elsewhere. The food we did order and receive was ok, but sort of pricey for the amount. The bartender was odd -- hanging around our table and interjecting weird thoughts. He seemed to have a lot of time to stand around. He smelled of cigarette smoke which bothered the pregnant woman in our party with heightened sense. I would give this restaurant one more chance before warning people of dining here, but this visit was sub-par in my opinion. Food was overpriced for portion size, weird staff and ambiance, and even though we made a reservation we were sat at a small table.

Yelp
Growing pains after reopening, I guess. The relic of a tagteam of bouncers, adding an air of "exclusivity" with a touch of 1 OAK pretension, checking the door remains post-COVID (could've done away with that, honestly, but fine). This spot, pre-COVID, was one of the few higher end bars in the area where you could get dressed up and not feel out of place for a night out (most bars around here are guys in Patriots hats and a pair of Allbirds, even on a Friday night - no hate but sometimes you want to dress up and do the fancy thing). They had a great, and surprisingly well-priced, whiskey list. Good cocktails. And the alternating chef thing, which is cool enough. It wasn't ever great, in my opinion, but it filled a niche in the area and did it quite well. Then COVID happened and they closed for the better part of 3 years. Now it's 30 minutes between cocktails, glasses being dropped (I think at least 4 got dropped at different times our last trip in), higher prices, a smaller (and more expensive) whiskey list. I'm super happy they reopened but they are still working out the kinks of reopening and sourcing staff, I think. The cocktails are a bit underwhelming and too expensive for the quality. The space is still gorgeous, though! 3 stars is probably too high for the two post-COVID experiences I've had there (1-2 is more fair) but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and will revisit in 6 months or so hoping they've worked out the bugs.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere and overall design of the place, however, the cocktails are cheap quality. Very much disappointed with all the drinks we've ordered. Not even a single cocktail left any good impression.

Yelp
Creative cocktails and food. Love the ambiance! The waitstaff is tops, always polite and timely. One of my favorite Saturday stops

Yelp
We had an absolutely incredible time at Wink and Nod this past Tuesday. I've always loved a good speakeasy, and this spot packed speakeasy vibes into a beautiful dining experience. With rotating chefs every 6 months and an extensive craft cocktail menu, there's no better place for date night. Right now, Chef Louis DiBicarri's menu (inspired by Sub Rosa Boston) includes steak frites, tons of unique vegetarian options and a Mediterranean-inspired flare. We can't wait to go back for more! Here's what we got: Steak Frites, Hasselback potato with lobster and cream sauce, Pupusa, Pesto arancini, Basque burnt cheesecake with pears and peaches, and the Tequila Jam Swizzle and Pal O' Mine.

Yelp
Great cocktails! A cool bar that's a little hidden. It's quite dark inside, has lots of booths and a small Bar with stools to sit. On a Friday night, it was very busy. The bartenders were pumping out drinks but were not sacrificing the quality of each drink. I watched them make their magic and it was very impressive. The spicy margarita was just that. SPICY! I liked it! Prices are moderate for drinks, $12-18 and food is also offered, although I didn't get to try it. Great spot though. Highly recommend checking it out!
