Upon first walking in, I loved the vibe I got. It's a funky relaxed atmosphere with awesome artwork on the walls done by the owner, who apparently uses only his fingers to paint??? There was also some fun music playing-- some oldies with a house music type twist to it.
April, one of the staff members, approached me immediately because she could probably tell that I had never been before as I was staring mouth slightly agape at the menu with a blank expression, wondering what I should order. I only intended to get a salad and smoothie, but she sold me on the wraps!
I ordered the MOFO, spicy, for my wrap with a side of kale salad. For my smoothie, I opted for the Warrior.
Wrap and salad were tasty-- I kind of wish I ordered the salad and added the "meat" from my wrap on top. It was a good combination, which I happened to try because I'm a messy eater and the meat from my wrap kept falling into my salad. By the way, my wrap was not spicy at all, so I'm wondering what the mild version tastes like...?
My smoothie was good, but a bit too sweet for my liking. I was told that they don't add sweetener to that particular one, so I'm guessing it may just have been the strong banana presence? Idk lol. Also, I was pretty disappointed as it was a hot summer day and my smoothie tasted really warm. Like lukewarm. I asked for ice and tried to add that in there but it wasn't blended in and still tasted kinda warm. Womp womp. As a last ditch effort, I asked if they would blend some ice into my drink for me and the gentleman making the smoothies obliged kindly with a smile. I think I love the people in Augusta. So friendly! Blending the ice in improved the sweetness level and taste by 100% (in my opinion)!
Overall, it was probably a 3 for food, but service and atmosphere had me give it an extra star. Not typical for me, as food is EVERYTHING, but April was too sweet and the gentleman SMILED when I asked him to do something extra. If I'm ever back in Augusta, I'd come back
