Stopped in around 1pm for Sunday Brunch. Was not crowded at all and our party was seated at a table. The music was loud, but the songs were on point and the energy from the other patrons was high. We started with the chips and dip flight and the dill pickle dip was our favorite across the board. Our table ordered the smoked wings (juicy, with a fantastic dry rub complimented by hot honey), the double stack cheeseburger (good burger, GREAT fries), and the chicken and waffles. Sage brined chicken - thigh meat - tops sweet potato waffles and every is drizzled with a sweet potato compote. I'll be finding a way to duplicate this, as it was an amazing combination. Our servers were attentive and kept our glasses full. The comments that say it's pricey must not get out much. Meals were all priced between $15 and $21, which is average in this area and the food was way above average so the value is definitely there. We will be back!

This was a super cool place. It’s truly the longest bar in the world. My feet in heels 👠 walking all the way to the front can attest. 😂The service was great. Jasmine took great care of our group. Visited to celebrate my bestie’s birthday. The band for the night, Sam and the Mix were phenomenal. The drinks were amazing and the whiskey flight had us right for the rest of the night. Highly recommend!

Shout out to Steven, Nikki and Tammy. They made our experience great before our distillery tour. We had a blast from food to service to the vibe of the place. Would recommend.

The food, service, and atmosphere were great. I look forward to my next visit. I had wings, and my friend had the oxtails. I failed to get pics of our mains, but I did get one of dessert - beignets. The menu rotates, so I'll look forward to what's there on my next visit.

Visited this past Sunday, didn't realize it would be a brunch-only menu (I heard you used to be able to bring the bbq from next door over which would have been amazing). Our cocktails were okay, bar wasn't busy.

Google
It’s still figuring out but it’s well on its way to being superior in the area. Let’s start with the great: the venue itself (and band for the night) is absolutely amazing. The Queen’s Gambit is a superb cocktail along with their signature old fashioned. The fish and grits and the burger were very very good. The fries were good also. The beignets were good. The wings lacked the description on the menu and were less than average in my “great wings” pool. Service needs some work. It’s the world’s largest bar but didn’t have adequate staffing to properly keep up with the flow of business, both bar and table service. I will be back this summer and sure it will be a 5 star across the board.

I made reservations for a rather large group. Most of us would enjoy the tasting as part of the tour, and a few non tasters were in our group. The welcome staff was friendly and seemed to be awaiting our arrival with the respective wristbands ready. My guests and I enjoyed the tour with Terrell, our guide. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and had a great sense of humor. We followed our tour with lunch. Our group was split on where to eat, so some went to Barrel House while others of us chose Sunday brunch at The Humble Barron. No one regretted their choice, and we still can't decide who made the better decision! I am looking forward to visiting again.

We went here to check out the world's longest bar and it was a really fun place. We didn't eat, just had a few drinks, just a warning the Whiskey and cocktails are pretty pricey. The whole distillery and gift shop is really nice. The staff was very friendly and we had a great experience. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
The tour guide was great!! The information she knew about the distillery was exceptional.

Yelp
I've been following Uncle Nearest for a while now and although the distillery is in the beginning stages, I am very much pleased with knowing the growth and the quality of not only the whiskey but the company as well. The atmosphere and our guide was A-1! The food at humble baron was amazing. My group of 9 enjoyed every minute of our experience. We will be back! In the voice of Fawn Weaver " Cheers "

Ania T.

Yelp
Terrell did a spectacular job with our tour + tasting! He's extremely knowledgeable, not only about Nearest Green specifically, but about whiskey and the industry in general. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would come back to Tennessee just for Nearest Green! P.S. they have an excellent Espresso Martini with a special twist

Yelp
Okay I am going to be the Debbie Downer here. First off our tour guide Tyler was awesome and knowledgeable. I was super excited to come and this was my first Distillery to ever visit. When waiting for the tour to start I was thinking where are all the current pictures of Green Family (lots of old pictures) as time went on I felt like I was being sold a story. I felt like someone with money and a great ability to market was building a brand and again creating a story around marketing this brand. I am all for marketing and building a business but this just seemed off to me. The distillery is not running and they make the whisky somewhere else and the reason given was it would suck all the towns power up... just seemed off and I am just telling my story (maybe I am wrong)... We stopped to eat and for two cheese sandwiches, powered lemonade (not fresh and I asked if it was and was told yes it was fresh) and two sides for $34.00 over priced, not great but average... just not my up of tea. I try not to do bad reviews but had to post this one.

Yelp
This was an experience. Probably the best part of visiting nearby Nashville. The tour is amazing. Everyone is so knowledgeable, very friendly, they look happy to work there and show you around. Terrell knew everything about anything when it came to the distillery and history. They acknowledge the history of the whiskey making, without disrespecting anyone or minimizing any roles. And it was just a very well thought out tour. The whiskey tasting was also good, as they explain everything before you try. Is the gift shop pricey? Absolutely. But they have some cool things to include whiskeys that are only sold in house. Signed by the owner, might I add. In addition, the two restaurants onsite...I'll just say our food at Humble Baron was so delicious! If this company wasn't in a small town way out, I would want to work there too.

Yelp
Terrel was very knowledgeable and charismatic. I loved the tour and the history lessons provided. The staff that we encountered were very friendly and kind. The restaurants on site were delicious with large portions. The food came out very quickly and we were checked on often, which we appreciated. The only downside was that we had to sit at the bar instead of a table. It was very uncomfortable because of my back issues but luckily the service was fast. Our favorites dishes were the catfish that was perfect. Great flavor and crispy on the outside moist and flaky in the inside. The brisket sandwich was like a party on our tongues. Soo many great flavors from the moist brisket, the hickory sweet BBQ sauce, the pickles and onion rings. The side of fries were crunchy and seasoned. The not soon great item was the wings. They were smoked very well but lacked any significant flavor compared to everything else. The atmosphere is great and would work for any occasion. I would love to return to experience it with live music.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience with the tour! I learned so much. I'm not a hard liquor drinker however I definitely enjoyed learning about the process, history and taste of the 1856. The food was amazing! Beautiful bar on-site. Customer service was amazing. So many friendly people working on site. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Nearest Green was such a great experience! Being a huge fan of Uncle Nearest Whiskey my husband and I decided to visit with two of our good friends for a double date. The land that the distillery is on is massive and is still a partially running stable. The country side views really add to the ambiance as you walk the grounds and learn the history of not only Uncle Nearest Whiskey but ALL Tennessee whiskey! The tour is about a mile worth of walking and takes about an hour to hour and half. At the end you receive a flight to taste all of the whiskeys that you just learned about. if you're hungry after your tour, they have a few restaurants on site. The on site restaurant the Humble Baron is also home to the world largest bar which is 500+ feet long! Overall this distillery did not disappoint!

Yelp
I live about 25 mins away and I basically witness this place come to life. This is an underrated gem for sure. If you are a local or just visiting, this place has to be on your to-go list. Definitely book your tour ahead of time. From the moment you walk in, every is very attentive and get you situated for your tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, attentive, funny & the stories told are just beyond. You walk the grounds while they tell you about the history, which is rich in all senses. You're able to see the production in a small scale. At the end of the tour you'll do the tasting which it's delicious. Then you'll be able to visit the longest bar at the Humble Barron (which has live music on Friday nights) and also get food from The barrel house. In summary anything from that menu it's good. You cannot go wrong. You have everything in one place.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Nearest Green Distillery tasting tour and dining at the Humble Baron restaurant, and I must say, both were exceptional! From the moment we arrived at the distillery, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and craftsmanship behind Nearest Green's award-winning spirits. The tour was incredibly informative, taking us through the entire distillation process and the legacy of the first African-American master distiller, Nearest Green. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the distillery's story, making the experience truly immersive and memorable. The highlight, of course, was the tasting itself. We were treated to a diverse selection of Nearest Green's finest offerings, each more exquisite than the last. The flavors were rich and complex, showcasing the artistry and dedication that go into every bottle. Whether you're a seasoned whiskey enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this tasting experience is not to be missed! An extra special moment during our visit was meeting Fawn Weaver, the CEO and Founder of Nearest Green Distillery. She graciously took the time to personally autograph our bottles of whiskey and take pictures with us. Her presence and enthusiasm for preserving Nearest Green's legacy made the experience even more memorable and added a personal touch that we will cherish. My wife and I attended with friends to celebrate our friend's promotion, and the entire experience was a perfect way to mark this special occasion. Following the tour, we headed to the Humble Baron restaurant, the perfect way to conclude our visit. The ambiance was inviting, with a rustic charm that complemented the distillery's heritage. The menu featured a delectable array of Southern-inspired dishes, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented beautifully. We particularly enjoyed the smoked brisket and the sweet potato pie, both out of this world. Our visit to the Nearest Green Distillery and the Humble Baron restaurant exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and delightful adventure. Cheers to Nearest Green for preserving history, crafting remarkable spirits, and providing a five-star experience!

Yelp
The whiskey tasting tour was great. Our tour guide, T (Terrell Johnson) was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and hospitable. The history at Nearest Green (and the history in the making) are nothing short of amazing. The food, drinks, and atmosphere at Humble Baron are excellent! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, the vanilla sage old fashioned (get Nicole to make it), and the entire experience. I will most definitely be back.

Yelp
At times you have to follow-up on gems in the world. Our family had the privilege of being served by Anthony. I must say the food was phenomenal. However the service was one of a kind this gentleman was knowledgeable and nurtured a wonderful experience. The ambiance gives you a Nashville iner city feel with a balance of green pastures and horses appealing to the eye. The music is up beat but not too loud. Prepare to take pictures at the photo booth and experience history of the largest bar in the world. We partaked in the following: Pancakes Catfish & Grits Shrimp & Grits Queen Gamblit with Uncle Nearest 1958 Whisky Sour with Uncle Nearest 1958 Rock & Rye (there take on an old fashion) Don't take my word for it come make history and experience it for yourself

Yelp
The entire team at Uncle Nearest is Awesome. Terrell is always welcoming and cool when i bring people up to visit. It was great meeting Mr. Weaver this time visiting. Very humble and gracious guy. You can feel the dedication and commitment throughout the entire place and the staff reflect that spirit.

Yelp
Sure an amazing experience. If you've never done the tour and tasting I highly recommend. Terrell was our guide and he is so knowledgeable and makes the tour and good vibe!

Yelp
Nearest Green Distillery is impressive for a variety of reasons, a couple being what they have created there in Shelbyville and of course, the story of how they came to be in a short 7 years! Ever since moving to Nashville a few years ago, Nearest Green has been on our "must go" list and I'm actually mad that it took us so long to make the trip, but we finally did and we are glad we made it happen! Purpose of our journey was my partners birthday. I scooped up a few tour and tasting tickets for a Saturday afternoon, which ran me around $80 for the two. This included a 1.5 hour tour and a tasting. Our tour started at 3:00 PM and they run on time! Our tour guide was super friendly, fun and knowledgeable. The tour took us around the whole property including barrel storage, speakeasy and onsite bottling room. The tour started and ended at the welcome center, which also doubles as the gift shop where you can get shirts and souvenirs, and a bottle of Uncle Nearest! Service was excellent from entry to exit, and honestly even before. I originally purchased my tickets for 10:00 AM, but forgot about a conflict. I emailed the night before and they responded and easily shifted us to the afternoon. Then we arrived, we were about 25 min early for our tour, so they offered to get us on the earlier tour. In addition to the flexibility, they also gave my partner a birthday pin to wear during the tour. This was cute and I am happy to see they read the notes in the reservation, as so many places don't do that! Good on them! While for many it is a hike to get to Nearest Green, I will say that it is totally worth the trek! The grounds are beautiful, the history is rich, the service is amazing and the whiskey is tasty! We have certainly added Nearest Green to our list of spots to recommend and take family to when we have visitors!

Yelp
A Must-Do Experience: Taste of History Tour at Nearest Green Distillery If you're looking for an extraordinary whiskey experience that combines history, craftsmanship, and hands-on learning, the Taste of History tour at Nearest Green Distillery is an absolute must. As one of the first guests to experience this new tour offering, I can confidently say it's worth every penny. From the moment you step onto the breathtaking grounds in Shelbyville, TN, you're transported into the rich world of Tennessee whiskey. Our exceptional tour guides, Jason and Julie, weren't just guides - they were masters of their craft, bringing to life the fascinating history of whiskey-making in Shelbyville and Lynchburg with their extensive knowledge and infectious enthusiasm. The tour is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in every aspect of whiskey-making. You'll explore the perfectly manicured grounds, learn the intricate distillation process, and venture through the impressive barrel house, where you'll discover the crucial role these wooden vessels play in crafting the perfect spirit. What sets this tour apart is the guides' willingness to dive deep - no question goes unanswered, and their expertise shines through in every detailed explanation. The experience reaches its peak in the Corporate office, where an expertly arranged tasting awaits. Here's where the magic really happens. We had the privilege of sampling some exceptional spirits, including the distillery-exclusive Uncle Nearest Toasted Single Barrel (121.7 proof) - a rare treat with fewer than 20 bottles remaining from the batch. The tasting also featured the robust Uncle Nearest Single Barrel (124.1 proof) and the special Master Blend Edition, another distillery exclusive. But the true highlight? Getting to blend our own whiskey after watching an inspiring video featuring Victoria Eady Butler, the great-great-granddaughter of Nearest Green, the first known African American master distiller AND the Master Blender at the distillery!! This hands-on experience takes your appreciation of the craft to a whole new level. The distillery campus offers more than just whiskey. We wrapped up our day at the Barrel House BBQ, one of the on-site restaurants, where the food was nothing short of exceptional. My three-meat plate and my husband's "grilled cheese on crack" with pulled chicken were perfect endings to an already incredible day. While we didn't dine at The Hubble Barron bar, it's worth noting that it houses America's longest bar and adds another layer of grandeur to the property. Pro Tips: *Book the Taste of History tour in advance - it's new and sure to become popular *Come hungry and plan to eat at Barrel House BBQ *Allow plenty of time to explore the beautiful grounds *Don't miss the exclusive distillery-only bottles available for purchase The Nearest Green Distillery isn't just another whiskey tour - it's a journey through history, craftsmanship, and flavor that you won't soon forget. Jason and Julie's passion for Tennessee whiskey and the Nearest Green legacy makes this experience truly special. While the tour may be a premium offering, the unique blend of education, entertainment, and hands-on experience makes it an outstanding value. If you're anywhere near Nashville or planning a trip to the area, put this tour at the top of your must-do list.

Yelp
I had heard some of the background story regarding Nearest Green on a morning TV show years ago. I assume it was Fawn Weaver who may not have been famous 5+ years ago, but had NG Distillery pretty famous! Three of us popped in (with reservations) for the 12:30 tour this past Sunday. Brent, a former teacher and PT comedian (I'm just saying), was a great guide. Good to make history fun and understandable. The Nearest Green story is an interesting one, and I'm glad to see that Fawn Weaver and her group have made it into a beautiful testament to TN distilling and the many Black Americans that helped make it. I was a bit disappointed that no actual distilling is taking place in Shelbyville at the moment (it's in Columbia) but the Grilled Cheese sandwich with crack (upgrade to the brisket!) is worth the drive alone! The longest bar in the world is also something to see. Don't think you need a tour to imbibe at it!

Yelp
Nearest Green Distillery is rich with history. Love that they repurposed this horse farm honoring Uncle Nearest and the previous owners. It's so important to acknowledge history and preserve it when possible. Distillery was easily located using GPS. Free parking, of course! Check-in was a breeze. We were early, so we browsed a gift shop and bar, then grabbed a bite to eat. Our tour with Tyler started on time. Weather was perfect for walking around the grounds. Staff at checkin were polite. The tour lasted exactly an hour. It was a great exchange with Tyler. He was full of knowledge of the history of Uncle Nearest. The tasting was great. The Master Blend was my favorite only available there, of course! It was a wonderful experience. I learned a lot during the tour. I would encourage a visit here!

Yelp
Uncle Nearest is one of my fav whiskeys, so I had to check out the Nearest Green Distillery. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and it was nice checking out all the land that the distillery lies on. We also got to taste 5 different types of the whiskey brand. I would've liked to see the process of distilling and bottling in action.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything about this place was amazing. We did a tour and tasting. Pat, Kay and Tyler were all superb in the tour. It is so informational. If you love a little bit of that Tennessee history, you will love this.

Yelp
You gotta visit, tour and taste Nearest Green while traveling to Nashville. Our tour guide Justin was patient, didn't speak nor walk to fast. Gave us a lot of time for questions. Many of us had never tasted Uncle Nearest and has never been to the tour. Our group was about 20 deep with only one person asking asinine questions. Photos are welcome except for one part of the tour where the hand bottling process is done. We visited on a Monday morning and the onsite restaurant wasn't open The featured video at the beginning was very touching, informative and interesting. You'll be surprised to learn who got their start from Uncle Nearest (hint: Jasper..) Artifacts are on display as well as paintings of the Nearest family. I loved the decor. Gift shop has a little of everything. Five different choices are part of the tasting. One was verrry strong. Of course we left with buying a bottle.
google avatar

Audeth D.

Yelp
I was very excited to go and experience this distillery. It was every bit of excellence. The grounds were well manicured. They also have horses on the grounds. I enjoyed the tour. The tasting room had a great presentation. Everywhere was clean. It was nice to learn the history of Uncle Nearest!! The distillery also have different events depending on the day. The gift shop has a vast variety of items to purchase. (Great job Fawn Weaver!)

Yelp
On 06/1/24 we went on the 4:30 tour and from start to finish it was a great experience! Very engaging and enjoyable learning the history of uncle nearest and the impact he made in history of whiskey is a great outing for fellow whiskey lovers. The team who played a part in each part of the tour did amazing and you could tell they enjoy their job and they get excited about the story and what's to come. The space is very large and beautiful. This is a walking tour but in comparison to others I've been on it isn't strenuous, easy walk even in unknown weather. I highly recommend checking out the largest bar in the world located on property!!

Corey S.

Yelp
So much history and detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Uncle Nearest is easily my favorite whiskey. My tour guide Julie was awesome!

Jeramy S.

Yelp
Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable and witty guide, Caryn. The rich history behind the man that put JD on the map. A must visit for whiskey lovers!

Yelp
Spent our Sunday afternoon taking a road trip to Shelbyville, TN exploring the heart of Tennessee whiskey at Nearest Green Distillery. A place rich in history and legacy. We had an epic tour hosted by their very first and top awarded tour guide - Terrell Johnson - and learned SO MUCH! He truly was the best tour guide I have ever had and made our experience fun and engaging! You will tear up at the beginning with a special dedicated room and promotional/educational video. My favorite experience was walking through the Rickhouse seeing the aging barrels, the scent is inexpressibly & intoxicatingly divine, like warm notes of oak, caramel, and vanilla filling the air, mingled with a hint of charred wood. We had a great group with other locals & folks f/ ATL & CHI! We also stayed after to visit the other experiences on site. We had perfectly crafted cocktails by mixologist - Akinde Olagundoye, I recommend you get their house Old Fashioned (vanilla sage flavored) it was the best cocktail I have ever consumed, but self-disclosure I am BIG vanilla enthusiast. We also enjoyed visiting the world's longest bar at Humble Baron and had their Hickory Smoked Chicken Wings and they were phenomenal, only complaint was the ranch was watery and not the same level of quality as the wings. We then visited their pop-up Carols & Barrels Christmas bar and had a speciality Toasted Marshmallow Old Fashioned which I loved even more than the first. Finally, we ended at Barrel House BBQ on site to split pulled pork with mac 'n cheese & green beans, it really helped us feel fully sober and content before heading home. Highly recommend making a trip!Highly recommend learning about their history in founder/CEO Fawn Weaver's book Love & Whiskey before or after your visit (sold on site), it really makes you appreciate their work and the staff! If you're a Tennessean, you will be so proud to learn more honest history of our State! As the site is newer, everything is EPICally set up, my boyfriend joked it felt like we were entering Disneyland or Opryland, then later on the tour when learning all that is still to come, they actually said it's like Disneyland for Whiskey! Enjoy!! I will be back soon!

Yelp
Really well organized tour. Xavier the tour guide is among the best guides I have seen anywhere in the world. The grounds and facilities are world class. And the gift shop is very well stocked withe all their product. The history amazing, restores your faith in humanity. And also the tie into prohibition and the sufferage movement was enlightning.
google avatar

Yelp
Sunday brunch here is delicious! Bar space is huge but not enough area for table dine in. Bar tops always open. Uncle nearest has two separate restaurants. Barrel house for self ordering to go or dining. More like a meat and 3 orders. Restaurant bar dine in for brunch or drinks only. Very nice open area. So many choices for alcohol if you're not a gin or whiskey person. Nice place to check out. Kinda kid friendly restaurants food wise. I didn't do any tours but that's always available also during business hours.
google avatar

Taysha W.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! There's a surprise at the start of the tour that I won't ruin. It was a fun and educational experience. The behind the scenes info and the tastings were great. I can't wait to go back. Our tour guide, Xavier, was very knowledgeable and detailed. I also love that they support HBCUs with every purchase. Be sure to stop by HB and/or Barrel House BBQ! The food was 10/10! Tip: be mindful of the weather! You will spend a short time outside traveling in between the various buildings.
google avatar

Linn N.

Yelp
The tour was amazing. Learned a lot about the whiskey distilling process. The whiskey tasting was amazing, loved the way the tour guide walked us through how to properly taste the different types of whiskey. Sat at the longest bar it was so nice. Ate on the facility the fish was amazing.
google avatar

Kristopher W.

Yelp
I had a chance to check out this amazing distillery while I was in the Nashville area. We ate at Smokehouse and it was really good! I'm glad it is connected to the distillery. We did the tour which was amazing! So much history was taught and taught well! We got to try samples at the end of our tour which was great. The distillery is kept and great condition and the hospitality was phenomenal! I would encourage anyone to check out to learn about history and check out some whiskey!

Sean P.

Yelp
A 5/5 experience. The Uncle Nearest story is one that everyone - whiskey drinker or not- should learn. If given the opportunity to request a tour guide ask for Xavier. He is super knowledgeable and entertaining.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Loved everything about the facility- Felt like I was family and welcomed. Great restaurants. The hamburger and catfish were very good. We also enjoyed the wings the next day. Incredible bar experience. Even the owners popped in while we were there. Got to speak to Keith Weaver and he was very kind. Terrell took us on what felt like such a personal tour of the distillery. It made the whole experience so much more valuable especially since he could answer all of our questions since he's been around so long. We could tell he really loved his job. We purchased two bottle of whiskey and Fawns book. We both look forward to reading it. Thank you for all the intentionality in what you've done here to honor Uncle Nearest!
google avatar

Relena M.

Yelp
Karen is an amazing storyteller and the tour was very educational. I love how they paid homage to specific events in history.
google avatar

Chunichi C.

Yelp
So happy my family & I visited this distillery. It's so rich with history. Our tour guide, Brent, did a great job explaining everything. He was also a bit funny which added to fun. We really enjoyed our tour, tasting, and opportunity to learn a piece of African American history. I encourage all to visit!
google avatar

Nina E.

Yelp
Terrell was our tour guide and he did an amazing job. I thought I knew a lot about Tennessee whiskey but I have more knowledge now than I did before I visited Uncle Nearest distillery. I also added knowledge to my African American heritage. We had dinner at the restaurant on site and it was delicious! The food was well seasoned and a lot to choose from. I'm going to make another trip there because I want to experience a weekend visit. According to Terrell, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the best days to get to experience the most of your visit. I would recommend that you visit. You won't regret it. I live in Tennessee and I haven't seen anything as close to Uncle Nearest. I'm sorry that I waited so long to make a visit there.
google avatar

Scarlett P.

Yelp
Uncle Nearest Green Distillery was definitely worth taking the tour, and then go to the biggest bar for lunch. I had the brisket tacos and they were delicious. The cocktails were good too. We also did the tasting, I do not drink Whiskey but it was fun and Strong!

Rhonda F.

Yelp
Our tour guide, Terrell was terrific. Very knowledgeable and amusing sharing stories about the area. He knew all about the history of the distillery, and made the tour a little more interesting and entertaining with the local stories about the distillery. Located in Shelbyville, TN, Nearest Green Distillery is set on the most beautiful land with a pond, barns, horses as well as a full operation distillery with a gift shop. There is also a full service bar, the Humble Baron which has the world's longest bar, per cubic foot. They offer a Sunday brunch menu with live music. There's also a barbecue restaurant, Chuck's Barrel House Barbecue, offering some of the best barbecue I've ever tasted (you'll love the smokey flavor of the smoked sausage).

Yelp
What a FANTASTIC, PHENOMENAL learning experience! I was amazed at the property from the time I turned into the gates. Check in was flawless, the tour started ON TIME and everyone I came in contact with was excellent. Sylvia (I hope that's her name), Xavier, Cody from the BBQ restaurant, and many other staff names I can't remember were great people. The property is clean, the tour is perfect for the price and I love how they have a bar/restaurant AND a BBQ restaurant. You can make a full 8 hour day out of your visit! The Humble Baron Old Fashion was definitely for sipping slow if you know what I mean. LOL. The banana pudding at the BBQ restaurant was amazing. I'm so happy people still make original banana pudding instead of the quick box mix. I will definitely return for brunch and other events here! I loved my experience! FIVE STARS.

Yelp
Today was a day to remember, filled with the richness of history and the pure joy of sharing a truly remarkable whisky experience that has earned every accolade it's received! I finally made it to Fawn Weaver's legendary distillery, a place that celebrates heritage with every sip and every story. Fawn, who's brought her inspiring voice to military bases worldwide, in the great state of TN from Nashville to Knoxville, is someone I look up to deeply, and her passion is woven through this whole place. To kick off the celebration for my best friend's birthday and in honor of an early Veterans Day, I booked a tour. Brent, our lead guide, brought the journey to life with insightful details and answered every question our group had with a genuine enthusiasm. The tour started off at the concession stand, where Pat and Kay's humor added a fun, laid-back vibe as we toured the speakeasy. The highlight was the incredible history shared throughout the tour--grounded, heartfelt, and so well done. Wrapping it up with a meal at the Barrelhouse was perfect. We devoured the finest brisket grilled cheese with tomato soup--absolutely a ten out of ten! Only one thing could have topped the day: getting to see Fawn herself!

Yelp
11/19/23: When in Tennessee a must for this tour. Tells the story of the first African American Master Distiller Nearest Green. Tour guide very knowledgeable and entertaining. Treated to one of the first speakeasy. Story of how Uncle Nearest Whisky came to be. Tour also includes a tasting. Not a whisky drinker buti did appreciate the various tastes. However if you are this is definitely for you not to partake of visit their website and make a purchase. The property is vast and well kept as the evening dimmed beautiful sunsets. One to put on your list of in the area.

Yelp
I went on a tour and tasting at the distillery on Saturday, 6/1, and had a great time. I enjoyed learning about the history of Nearest Green and his legacy. Our tour guide Jason was very knowledgeable, and the technique he used at the start of the tasting really helped me to enjoy whiskey. I was with a group of women celebrating a birthday, so we spent the day at the distillery. Which means I ate at both Humble Baron and the BBQ restaurant. We also enjoyed line dancing with other patrons. It was a day of whiskey, food, and fun, and I'll definitely be back. My only regret is that I didn't bring back a bottle of the single barrel.

Yelp
Went to Nearest Green for the Honor's Day event and at the last minute jumped on a tour decided to do my tour with Terrell not only was he full of history about the Distillery but he was also someone who grew up working the farm when it was a horse farm and could tell us local history as well. The fun part of this tour is at the beginning and because I don't want to ruin it I will simply say you get a little history from the past that involves the state and wraps up into what you see their today. The really amazing part was everyone I encounter was super friendly and amazing in their own right. Don't forget to check out Humble Baron ask for Dear Fawn!!!
