London’s New Bar Openings - London - The Infatuation

"Crouch End is the latest place where Humble Grape has opened a wine shop, bar, and restaurant. The space is bright and warm, with bottles lining exposed brick walls, and come summer, there’ll be a terrace out front. Like the other five locations around London, tastings and masterclasses will be on offer too." - daisy meager, sinead cranna

A fantastic evening from start to finish - great food, excellent wine, warm service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We kicked things off with the monthly regional wine flight (Burgandy), which was a lovely way to get to taste a few of their fantastic wine selection, then shared a charcuterie board and a few delicious small plates between the four of us. Our mains were just as yummy, and we even managed to squeeze in puddings and cocktails at the end. I’ll definitely be coming back and am already looking forward to trying more of their locations!

I booked Humble Grape for my birthday. We are a family of four and all of us have very different food preferences so it’s hard to find a special restaurant that all of us are enthusiastic about. The small plates offered something for everyone and the food felt special and it was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly and I was given a beautiful birthday dessert that really ended the evening perfectly. This is our new favourite restaurant in Crouch End. Thank you for making my birthday meal a memorable one.

Incredible food, the deserts were amazing. Definitely recommend the cauliflower small plate! The Valpolicella red was lovely. The music was perfect volume for some atmosphere while still able to hear everyone speak.

We ordered six small plates between two of us which was just right. Pictures below clearly missing a couple of dishes as we dived right in before snapping a photo! Vegetable dishes were very tasty and competed right with the meat dishes. Great selection of wines as one would expect.

We went with my friend Chloé on Thursday night and absolutely loved it. The team was incredibly welcoming, and their recommendations were spot on (we discovered an amazing red wine from Germany ! - 10/10). The food was just as fantastic as the chef (especially the mackerel !). We even got a little tour of the restaurant, which made the experience even more special. I highly recommend it if you enjoy great food, wine, and a warm, friendly atmosphere

Lovely little place and I would both recommend and I would go again. Wine bar vibes. Small tables. But cute for a date. It was also good to see locals just in for drinks. Our Hungarian waitress was great. Recommended a lovely wine. And dealt very well with one of our steaks being a bit tough - which is just the luck of the butchers cut sometimes.

I had a FANTASTIC birthday celebration on Thursday 13th November at the Crouch End restaurant. There were 32 guests and from beginning to end it was extremely well organised in every way. The canapés, mains, desserts/ cheese boards were all delicious and everyone really enjoyed themselves no doubt helped by the great wine selection and port. I would thoroughly recommend! Mary 🥳

A very mixed experience at Humble Grape 🍇 The food - the pork belly and the pickled mackerel were both very good, but the crab gnocchi weren't very crabby, the courgette fritters weren't a star, and the flat iron steak lacked seasoning and flavour. The service - this almost felt like a scam, the restaurant has a deal where you can buy wine bottles at the "take away" price rather than dine in for 50% off one day per week. This was heavily sold on us by the wait staff, and so we went for it, but ultimately the bottle we bought was only £1 less than that on the menu. It would be better to say, you can explore a larger range of wines or better wines for prices similar to the menu, pushing 50% off wines when you have no context of the prices of said wines, whilst there is a menu with dine in wine prices in front of you, is not good practice.
