A very mixed experience at Humble Grape 🍇
The food - the pork belly and the pickled mackerel were both very good, but the crab gnocchi weren't very crabby, the courgette fritters weren't a star, and the flat iron steak lacked seasoning and flavour.
The service - this almost felt like a scam, the restaurant has a deal where you can buy wine bottles at the "take away" price rather than dine in for 50% off one day per week. This was heavily sold on us by the wait staff, and so we went for it, but ultimately the bottle we bought was only £1 less than that on the menu.
It would be better to say, you can explore a larger range of wines or better wines for prices similar to the menu, pushing 50% off wines when you have no context of the prices of said wines, whilst there is a menu with dine in wine prices in front of you, is not good practice.
