Cool little place in the heart of Felton with great beer and tasty grub. Bartenders were incredibly friendly.

All of the main course selections were sold out and our waiter did it know why or when the dish selections can be available again. We waited outside for 5 mins since we have group of 8 and until I found out there are actually tables available to be combined together inside and we didn’t need to wait up. I would be better if the receptionist can told us all main course selections were sold out from the very beginning as well. For the price of the food, it needs some improvement. Pull pork burger taste too sweet. Please do not order creamy potato soup. It doesn’t taste good. It is hard to finish. Potato prices are big. They sell variety of draft beers. If you come here for beer tasting, it’s a good spot but it’s not a good spot for decent food selections.

This review is of the Tavern (5 stars) and Bread Boy Smash Burgers (2 stars). Been wanting to try his burgers for a while, missed him by one week on 41st street. His burgers in a dark French gravy looked amazing. Tonight I got what turned out to be a breakfast sandwich with what amounts to a bechanel sauce, very bland! The fries were OK, spent $7 more to have the same bland sauce dumped on them. The OG smash burger was better but still overhyped and overpriced. None of this was worth it to me, not the money, calories or time and effort getting here. The staff, both bread boy and the tavern were excellent, especially the tavern staff. The beers... Excellent! The food, meh.

Google
Fantastic food. Best burgers (sorry Empire). Great service and cocktails are awesome. The mushroom grilled sandwich also a hit. The tater tots the best. Could use a variety of food (this is where Empire does better) but in general, great place and awesome atmosphere

Delicious everything. Got to try eggs, smash burger, burrata. And simply awesome French fries. Awesome selection of beers, properly chilled and served in British glasses. Must visit when in the area.

Food was very tasty, and the service was great and quick. I got the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the mushroom melt; the pork was good but I was really jealous of the mushroom melt, my husband gave me a bite and man it was delicious! The tots with the spicy seasoning were also really good. The meal was a little on the pricier side but that’s to be expected in this area.

Humble Sea Tavern is like an oasis when you get lost on the back roads after making a wrong turn in the Santa Cruz Mountains…. This location is in the heart of Felton. It has easy access to the highway & in the middle of town with other shops, dining & grocery. They have a really nice pub menu & dining options to pair with a wide selection of their popular beer on tap. We chose the special Fuego Cheese Burger. It was served with a heaping pile of. Fries. The burger was delicious & was topped with fresh ingredients. Humble Sea is Santa Cruz favorite & I can see why. The decor was tasteful, well done & felt like it was a business that was there for ever. Good quality & friendly place.

Yelp
Came here once before when it was just the tavern, was sad to hear that it was closing down, so very glad the SC Bread Boy was able to help them keep the lights on. I've been an SC Bread Boy fan since he was popping up over on East Cliff Drive, love his focaccia, so I knew his smashies were gonna be a hit. I ordered the OG smash burger and my mom the sour cream an onion so that we could try both of them. Both of them were fantastic. The OG was exactly that, a traditional smash burger that had exactly what you wanted a SB to have. The meat was fantastic and so full of flavor even without all of the toppers, though of course a smash burger is not a true smash burger without those pickles, onions, and american cheese. The star of the show though? That sour cream and onion burger. The things was huge. It was so loaded that it was overflowing onto the plate. It was messy, but a mess that was worth it. Hope to see this stick around on the menu. As for the Humble Sea portion of the tavern, love that they have beer, wine, and cocktails. Their cocktail menu was limited, but with the wide array of options, and it really being a brewery, that was to be expected. You order the drinks and food separately. Pick up your drinks at the bar, then grab a table and wait for your food to be delivered. It's a good system they've got going on and hope to see this place stick around with this current operating process and food vendor.

Yelp
This place was so cute - the inside decor and the bathroom were ; although, the bathroom needed some tending to but not the point of this review. This is mainly for the food. First, you order at the window. The staff member was helpful and pleasant. I was able to modify my order - grilled onions instead of fresh. Second, there was seating on the inside and the outside. Last, the staff member that brought our food was great - we moved around three times to get better seating... went at a busy time. Ordered: The OG 10/10 - the freshly slices pickles added lots of flavor, the meat, although a double patty didn't seem that way because they were smashed thinly (duh, hence the name: Smash Burger. The bread, ohhhh the bread was deeelicioussss!! So soft. Wisconsin Butter Burger 7/10 - would get the sauce on the side, if possible. The sauce made the burger soggy. Although, it was still tasty and not spicy at all as it states on the menu board. Deviled Eggs 7/10 - creamy and I liked the fried capers, which I'm not a fan of and didn't enjoy the fresh onions in the yolk. Def will go back to get the OG and try the Caviared Egg.

Yelp
SC Bread Boy is a cheeseburger savant. The burgers were absolutely perfect. Chef Lance smashed them so beautifully that they came out with this gorgeous, lacy beef skirt and they're just oozing with cheese. The buns are squishy, the pickles are plentiful and crunchy, and the onions melt in your mouth. It was our first time, but I think the menu changes. This weekend, we got: The OG: DBL Patty, DBL Cheese, long cut Pickle, Onions, Burger Sauce Butter Burger: DBL Patty, DBL Cheese, whipped whole fat Sriracha butter Market Salad: Red Butter lettuce, Winter citrus, Daikon, Parm, Red wine vin (the salad was just as well made as the burgers! it's a real treat. get it!) Tip: The fries have this extra crispy, craggy coating that make them extra delicious. So get your own fries. You won't want to share! We got extra burger sauce and homemade buttermilk ranch to dip them in. Humble Sea itself was 100% chill. People brought their dogs and their kids and the staff was super friendly. Hubby tried 3 beers and loved them all. He even bought a 4-pack. And I was super stoked to learn that they also serve cocktails and wine. The margarita I had was simple, but good. We will definitely be back because what's better than amazing burgers and beer on a cold, rainy night?

Yelp
Great food from the Emerald Mallard and a great selection of beers and cocktails. Also, family friendly and dog friendly. All with a great atmosphere. What else can you ask for!

Yelp
Food was wonderful, service was even better. Very dog friendly. Burger was very filling. Scallop dish was delightful and well balanced. The bread baker also gave us a free test loaf of the pan epi recipe they were working on, and it was delicious with a complex crunch and mild sourdough flavor. Highly recommend !

Yelp
We just had a delicious meal here. Both the smashed burgers and fries were excellent. Best meal after a long hike.

Yelp
Love this place, so glad they are back open. Staff is super friendly and always make us feel welcome. The place is super cute. Really fun seeing what the Emerald Mallard has on the menu, always creative and looks amazing.

Yelp
Overall I would say the food is alright, but pretty overpriced. My boyfriend got the smash burger, and there was so much sauce he had to use a fork to eat it. Besides that part, he enjoyed it. Being a vegetarian my only options really were a salad and that was $14 and having tried that last time I didn't think it was really a $14 salad especially not really having any protein on it. I decided to skip dinner and try the pistachio tiramisu. The flavor was pretty good, but the entire dessert was sitting in a watery puddle on the bottom of the dish..it was so soggy I barely managed to finish it and I don't think it should be $14 either. If anything, the French fries are really good and it is nice the building is being utilized again but I probably won't be going back since it's not really vegetarian friendly. We spent over $50 on a burger and a soggy dessert, no drinks.

Yelp
Going 4 stars for small business but the burger was not worth my hr drive. I get meat portions but double the size of bun is just not fun. The pickles and onion too weren't easy to bite through leading to my graceful pull out of burger. Fries were at par. Beer was above par as was service - was expecting a 4+ burger but it was A 3.5 and I want back my 2 hr commute -

Yelp
The food was OK, but we always go there for the beers . Absolutely some of the best beer in the county love humble sea

Yelp
Worth the hype! Get there early to avoid the line! Smash burgers and all the extras are amazing! Homemade brioche bun was a treat coupled with the crunchy fries, tasty burger sauce, dirty tots and salad! Also enjoyed the margarita while waiting! Happy that Humble Sea Tavern is still kicking with this new pop up addition!

Yelp
The best burgers and fries, and a delicious selection of beer. Relaxed and comfortable seating on the deck.

Laura P.

Yelp
Bummer. I was excited to come here again but disappointed. Came in for a beer, we sat down and 10 minutes later nobody had even looked at us. Went to bar and still nothing. We left.

Masoumeh P.

Yelp
You can drink in this place but never eat there. We ordered burger and chicken. Burger was overcooked and chicken was raw inside. The chicken was raw, tasteless and gross.

Natasha L.

Yelp
Amazing food by Santa Cruz bread boy!! And such good beer service from Taylor, very attentive and helpful!

Gimble F.

Yelp
We got the OG Smash Burger and it was...basically a soggy little bun, super greasy wagyu never given a chance to show off its potential because it was...smashed, a speck of sauce, a couple slices of mediocre pickles, and some generic American cheese. Did I mention it was greasy...like sopping with grease. The fries were perfect and delicious and service was quick! Bring a towel and ask for an extra toasty bun so it doesn't dissolve and make sure to order a brew to wash the grease down, or just go to Humble Sea for their delicious beers!
