If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! As a baker and cook, I can personally say Humble uses the best ingredients and does it from scratch, which in a world where everything is over processed is a welcome change. We love this place so much people always say, "Wait, you drove from Frisco to Garland for pie!?". And our answer is a resounding YES, because it's that good! Most importantly, their Banana Cream Pie is an actual Banana Cream Pie and not pudding based like so many places.

My husband and I decided to go in and we are glad we did. Considering we had my brother’s funeral on yesterday, this encounter had me smiling. (The owner came from the kitchen and we had a conversation about Louisiana and loved one’s.) We can tell he is passionate about cooking and family. The atmosphere is inviting and he is definitely HUMBLE. We will see you soon to get some more tasty pies ☺️ Sorry no picture of the Coconut Crème, my husband devoured it before I could get a pic 😆

Google
Placed an online order for the strawberry rhubarb pie for pick-up,was not disappointed, my husband and I finished the pie in 2 days. Made with fresh ingredients and had a very generous filling. Also bought a slice of the lemon ice box to enjoy inside the pie shop, it was frozen when it was served to us so i wasn't able to enjoy it then. While it's the same recipe used, it seemed to taste quite a bit of condensed milk, maybe just me, but i may try another slice to see if I experience the same issue, maybe it was just a bad batch.

Google
We had the best cherry pie ever! And the seasonal strawberry rhubarb was sublime. Taste buds are dancing! There are tons of options, slices as well as mini pies and whole pies. The crust decorations are a fun touch too. Go enjoy it! I’ll have to restrain myself from too many visits.

Okay listen I was fussing at my man for spending too much money on pies. But after taking a bite out of the chocolate cream pie and then the pumpkin followed by the pecan pie … I apologized for fussing about the price. It is important to note that I in my life HAD never eaten pecan pie. Ever. Never. I have been converted to eating pecan pies Only from here at Humble. Thanks you guys… you are hands down great pie makers. The pies were also not super sweet at least in my opinion. They didn’t kill the pies with sugar. They are just the perfect amount of sweetness.

Drummermom

Google
One of the best pie shops I've experienced. The crust is incredible. I had the cherry and loved it. You won't regret going here to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Alba Brown

Google
Love this pie shop! All of the desserts are amazing and they also have savory meat pies they rotate weekly.

Google
The mini pies are delicious and the perfect size. My absolute favorite is the texas lime pie. The pecan pie was good too but it definitely needed more pecans. The buttermilk was just ok.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
Ordered the Chocolate Cream Pie and it was SUPER tasty. For this pie, they fill the crust with chocolate pot de crème and it's topped with house made whipped cream and dark chocolate. It had the right amount of sweetness and the crust was just perfect. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying some of their other pies. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the customer service was excellent!

Yolanda H.

Yelp
My Mother-n-Love and I went here on Mother's Day and this place is amazing! The atmosphere is so cute and the service is great. We couldn't wait to try the pies once we got home and devoured the mini pies lol! You have to give this place a try if you are wanting a sweet treat!

Lisa G.

Yelp
Amazing pies!! Throughly enjoyed playing a game of Jenga with my family while sharing our variety of pie choices.

Sara S.

Yelp
After the disappointment of finding the ice cream place across the street closed, stumbling upon Humble Pies turned out to be a stroke of luck! This cozy spot serves up some of the most decadently delicious pies I've ever tasted. The simplicity of their pies is what makes them truly stand out. Each bite is filled with rich flavors that leave you craving more. The ambiance is also a highlight - it's so relaxing that my friends and I had the entire place to ourselves. I'm already planning my next visit because one trip just won't be enough. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this hidden gem!

Wendy O.

Yelp
Love love, love; the coconut cream pies. Unfortunately I didn't make it to get myself another one last week- maybe next week I can get one. It's a little distance from me but worth it.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Delicious local pies!! Got the lemon tart and the Bayou Goo. Service was friendly and they have alot of tables to sit at and can even play a game of checkers or dominos. Check it out next time your craving dessert. They have several pies to choose from!

Eli B.

Yelp
The pies from here are absolutely phenomenal. The apple pie is amazing and is just the perfect amount of sweet. It's very aesthetically pleasing and is decorated well. I believe it's family owned, which is probably their secret to the amazing pies! The service was great, the girl at the front was nice and if you dine in, she'll bring the pies to your table.

Sharonda W.

Yelp
Ambiance it was very quiet and smelled amazing. Service Sean was so nice and inviting. The pies flavors we tried for the first time was "Damn Fine Cherry" Pie Slice "Old Fashion Apple" And BOI OH BOI THE "BUTTERMILK CHESS" was so dang good I'm hoping to get a full pie next visit. Must try,Must Eat!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Came here to get dessert on a day date. It was amazing! We played checkers while drinking coffee and eating some seriously good pie. Definitely recommend

Alice A.

Yelp
The pies and weekly chicken pot pies are delicious. Staff have always been gracious and attentive.

Kristen S.

Yelp
Very cute! It's the kind of place you'd take a close pal or a qt on a date. Just saying! I enjoyed the charm, as well as the savory and spicy options! I'll return :-)

Helen M.

Yelp
The pie is amazing! I got chocolate meringue and it was so good. The chocolate wasn't that dark stuck together stuff. It was creamy, yet rich and I wanted to lick my plate when I was done but I held back. Fantastic place! I've sent several friends there and all of them loved it.

Christy K.

Yelp
Normally it's five stars, but for some reason this time al of the crusts on all the pies were way overcooked. I drive over an hour to get there and that was a little disappointing, but still delish as usual. I just don't like pie crust dark and this was definitely over baked. We could smell they were over baking them while there. However, the filling on the chocolate cream pie was amazing and still the best you will ever find anywhere. And whoa!!!! The banana cream (which is seasonal) was AMAZING!!!! So I give a pass on the crust :) GO! You won't be disappointed.

Amber T.

Yelp
One pie was ok & peppermint chocolate only tasted like peppermint and threw in trash, no one wanted to eat it. Not a fan especially considering $45 for a pie. In terms of taste on the edible coconut cream pie, it's equivalent to what I can get it at Central Market. The crust tastes like it's made with shortening and they are frozen maybe for extended time, not fresh made which could be why. I hate leaving bad reviews on small businesses, but it's the right thing to do. Spent $100 on 2 pies

Ali M.

Yelp
Incredible flavors and so many to choose from. I love the mini pies. The coconut cream is delicious. The staff is helpful in helping make a decision.

Paula C.

Yelp
The service is always great. The venue is cute and quaint. Pies never disappoint. My favorite are the Bourbon Chocolate Pecan and the apple pie!

Solana C.

Yelp
I did not appreciate the person checking us out. I had asked my girlfriend a question and he put his index finger and thumb together up to his lips and imitated that i was "smoking something" and laughed. Wont be returning. Aside from that i had the mardis gras chess pie which was pretty good. $6 a slice though.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Yippee, another pie shop in the city. Yes, simply old fashion classic pies they make; with a price tag equaling to the well known artisan pies of this city. Having just discovered "chess pie" at Hill Country, on my 1st visit here when they first opened, though the crust was wonderful, the proportion of the five ingredients filling here was not to my preference. Well, months have gone by and at a recent party, Humble-Simply's "CHOCOLATE CREAM" pie was served. Oh my, perfect crust, right amount of sweetness, and, chocolaty creaminess, mm, yum! With that, a new customer they have now made in this pie lover. Dreaming of my next slice there now. CHEERS!

Mike M.

Yelp
Conveniently close to the Dallas Arboretum, Humble is a great place to go for pies. Good value for the money and a great selection.

Samantha M.

Yelp
So glad we stopped here to try some pie and a cup of coffee. Tried the coconut cream pie. It was amazing. Can't wait to come back to try something else.

Raquel M.

Yelp
First time trying this pie place. Very inviting inside, quick & friendly service. I love the simple & more exotic options. Tried the banana cream pie...outstanding! I would say this place is better than pie emporium as far as options are concerned. Quality & taste is about the same-great! Love that this place is near white rock

Jen D.

Yelp
The name alone begs for me to come here. lol I've been waiting for banana crème pie to be there so I can eat it (MY FAVORITE PIE!!!), but my friend Liz told me about their chocolate crème pie and said I had to try it. So we made a date and came out on a rare day off for me. Oh. my. gawd. that pie was the bomb. I had to jump up and get another pie (almond joy pie...forgot to take a pic). I wanted to get more pie to take home, but the ones I wanted to take home were running out the door. dang it. I took home a half dozen of the chocolate chip pecan cookies. the pecan chunks were so huge (just like I like 'em). I can't wait to go back for my banana crème pie!!

Ray F.

Yelp
It was hotter than Hades on fire and I needed something cool and sweet... Then the idea struck me, the new pie shop! We made a couple of bat-turns to get into the parking lot and after a couple of moments admiring some of the ironic signage of their neighboring stores, in we went. The Pie shop was cool and had some great mellow music playing in the background. The owner/manager/Pie Master or whatever his title was graciously greeted us and gave a wonderful pitch on pies. My date had the all berry (a lot of various berries) and I ordered the coconut cream plus an iced tea. As he put in the order to the pie maker masters in the back room, he brought us out thick glasses filled with ice. I'm an old Texas boy and the thicker the glass, the better the drink. It just feels better in my hands and makes whatever is in them taste better; somewhat like a Mason jars or snuff glass jars. The iced tea was delightful! In moments he was bringing out 2 slices of pies the State Fair judges would be proud to hang ribbons upon. I tasted the berry and it was amazing! But I wanted something smooth, soothing and cool. That was exactly how the coconut cream was. Sweet delicious toasted coconut on the cream on top and long plump tender coconut in the coconut cream on the bottom. The crust was an absolutely amazing combination of flakey, crisp and soft. The way a pie crust should be! This took 10 degrees off the hot day.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
If you want to find the best pies...I mean lick the fork and plate kind of good, then look no further than the Humble pies. Crust is fantastic, the flavors are not shy. Love the lemon icebox. Anything you get is great. Their seasonal pies do not disappoint. My husband always let's me know when we need to pay another visit to Humble - always fantastic. They focus on their product and not the decor...as it should be !!!

Anthony B.

Yelp
Good pie! Small shop, love the homey feel! Got the lemon ice box pie which is basically like a lemon version of key lime- smooth and creamy. Will be trying more pies from here!

Melaney O.

Yelp
Comfy and cute inside. Always a welcoming, helpful, and sweet staff. The pie. Pfff. Omg. Any and every pie I get is just.. perfection. The chocolate cream pie is my absolute favorite but every now and then I'll switch it up. I can't describe how much I love their pie, omg.

Lolo A.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the ambiance! The pie, not so much. I had a slice of the bayou goo, and it was just ok. I'll definitely try another flavor next time.

Shannon H.

Yelp
Bought a pecan and a pumpkin for Thanksgiving the pecan was hard as a rock and the pumpkin was mealy and very very bland. For a company that specialize in pie they were VERY disappointing. Save your money and time... Hit the frozen isle of the wally world instead.

Emma J.

Yelp
Best pies i have ever had recommend to anyone in dallas go to humble simply good pies for the best of the best

Douglas C.

Yelp
So Good. First time trying and we ordered chocolate cream and classic apple. Delicious pies and crust. I don't even favor apple pie and I really enjoyed this one. These folks were swamped with holiday orders and the process went pretty well to pickup. This is my pie shop.

Nat T.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST pie place in Dallas. I personally am not a big fan of pies & when i'm in the mood for pie, i'm very picky. This place deserves all the stars. I have tried 3 of theirs pies- buttermilk, chocolate cream, & bayou goo- as well as a solid 8/10 on the bourbon chocolate pecan pie from a friend of mine. This place makes the most incredible cream pies, it's so fluffy & resembles eating a cloud. 11/10 worth the trip.

Jen L.

Yelp
So I have been craving for a Coconut Cream pie and have yet to find one in my area for some that is satisfying my craving. Went to a few places around my area and was very disappointed. So while we were in downtown Dallas for lunch, we decided to look up pie shops, went to one in Deep Ellum and was disappointed because they didn't even have Coconut cream pie. So we called Humble: Simply Good Pies and asked if they had the Coconut cream Pie and the man on the phone said yes so on we went. Arrived, walked in and it was definitely a pie shop. You can smell the pies cooking. The man who created us was super friendly and nice. He explained his process of pie making which is pretty cool. And yes, they had the coconut cream pie. We ordered a slice of the coconut cream pie as well as the coconut joy. OMG, my craving was satisfied. One of the best coconut cream pie I've had. It tasted like a home cooked pie. It wasn't to sweet and the crust was delicious. The cream was so fluffy. The coconut joy was good too. the chocolate mousse wasn't too sweet. But I like the original coconut cream better. Overall it was great and would definitely be back. I found my pie shop. There were other flavors that I would like to try for next time. The pie was $6 a pie and well worth it. It is such a cute little quaint place. Such a cute place for a dessert date.

Teressa M.

Yelp
Pies were delicious! Peanut butter and Bayou Goo for the win! Coffee was good, too. Next time we'll try the fruit hand pies.

Isela V.

Yelp
Located off Garland Rd. near the Dallas Arboretum, this is a must try shop. They have a parking lot that is shared by the shopping stop in which it is located but it has plenty of parking available. The cute shop is quite cozy but very inviting. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay and had our slice to go for an upcharge of $1. Their pie selections are extensive and I started off with the Buttermilk which did not disappoint. The crust is flaky and the pie itself was heavenly.

Kamaile A.

Yelp
I've driven by this place for over a year and recently a friend gifted a pie to me. Wowwwww it was delicious. I got the bayou goo - description from their website: A rich, sweet cream cheese is filled with candied pecans, topped with chocolate cream, and covered with Chantilly Cream, chocolate shavings and more candied pecans. Highly recommend. It was perfect! I plan to try the other flavors soon!

C.J. K.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple of Mother's Day pies last Saturday. We got an apple pie and a buttermilk chess pie. I had a slice of each. They were both delicious. The crust is great. Thick and flaky. The apples were thinly sliced and the top crust had butterfly cut outs. The buttermilk chess pie was rich, creamy, and not overly sweet. The establishment was nice and the customer service was spot on. Overall, I highly recommend this place but watch out because it's not cheap. 2 pies was almost $80. Yikes!

Greg A.

Yelp
Really really good pie. I see where it was awarded best pie in Dallas for 2018 by the Dallas Observer. We had the peaches and cream and the coconut blossom, The coconut blossom was amazing the peaches and cream OK. Six dollars a slice and they also ask for a tip if you pay for credit card which I do have a problem with when you're paying that much for a slice of pie? It's good but it's no emporium pie, the Lord of the pies at Emporium pies beats anything I've ever had but it's a great neighborhood spot and I highly recommend. It's expensive as these places tend to be.

Joseph F.

Yelp
I had a slice of Alex's Lemon Ice Box Pie. It was huge... like 3 servings worth. I took half of it home. The taste was a tangy lemon throughout, but it just wasn't special. I had a bite of the sweet potato pie and liked it. However, I don't think the slices are worth $6, even if its 3 servings. Service: we waited 5+ minutes to have slices of pie taken out to us. The people behind us in line were served first. It was not busy.

Claudia M.

Yelp
This place is delicious Every time we go to Dallas we make it a must to stop here and get pie. My favorite is the Bayou Goo! Definitely a must try you won't be disappointed

Tanya T.

Yelp
I use to LOVE this place ! When I was pregnant I use to stop by twice a week! But the quality of the pie has been hit and miss for several months. I come by now twice a month tops and every other time the pie isn't great or as good. It's unfortunate because I love pie I got a pumpkin and butterscotch pie slice today and I just stopped eating them. The pumpkin had no sugar at all and another patron at the shop that tasted it there said this before I left. It was covered in tons of whipped cream to cover up the fact that there was no sugar in it. The butterscotch was made with burnt sugar. In fact butterscotch isn't even this dark. It was obvious it was over cooked and had a bitter burnt sugar taste. I don't know if it's because they haven't found a good pastry chef or what. I'm just going to have to make my own pie for the holidays

Eddie B.

Yelp
I had a slice of the Texas lime pie, which was delicious. I got the pie to go which they put in a nice small box sealed with a sticker. Looking forward to try one of their other pies.

Megan P.

Yelp
My family and I have been wanting to try this place for a while. We walked in yesterday around 5pm and proceeded to look at the menu. The cashier brashly asked what we wanted. She was very short and irritated. I explained it was our first time there and I had been craving a lemon meringue pie. She then informed me that they had a 'lemon iced box' pie. I asked her what was in it since I have allergens. She said 'you know, lemon and it's iced'. She treated us like we were complete idiots. At that point we were all discouraged and disappointed that the lady had no clue what she was even selling or what was in the pies in her display case. We thanked her and left. First and last time in that place. Bummer! I'll stick to my frozen pies.

Cameron K.

Yelp
I love supporting East Dallas businesses but not this one. I have to assume that people that write glowing reviews for this place must be baked when they eat it or have no clue how a good pie should taste. I picked up 3 slices of pie: Cherry, Key Lime Coconut Creme. and was ready for us to share some pie goodness. Beyond disappointed in all 3 varieties! Here's the details: Cherry - The filling was dry. Dry? Yes and dense. There was no liquid or oozy filling like any other fruit pi IN THE WORLD. Stop with the cutesy colored pie crust garnish on the slice and focus on the filling. Coconut Creme - A few sprinkles of toasted coconut on top of a lot whipped creme (I'm doubting it was real whipped creme) does not constitute a good coconut creme pie. The cocunut filling was lacking texture, flavor and quantity. Key Lime - WTF! I lived in Key Largo and South Florida for decades and have never had a Key Lime pie like this. This is an embarrassment. It was nearly frozen and had the texture of cheesecake. (Speaking of cheesecake, Try Val's). Key Lime pie is...PIE and has a consistency of a creme pie. Oh yeah, they don't know how to make those either. Also, pie crust that is not graham based is supposed to be flaky. It takes practice to develop and consistently produce. You need much more practice. You would never get a handshake from Paul Hollywood for any of your pies. Not Humble Simply Bad Pie. This is one East Dallas business to pass on. Update 7/31 in response to Humble: I never dm'd you. Don't try this a reply to my review.

Roy W.

Yelp
Forgetting the old adage, "judge a bakery by how it smells" my beautiful bride and I stopped in for a pie. Texas Pecan $45 and absolutely a true disappointment. The worse part is wondering if others are to embarrassed to admit the "Emperor doesn't have clothes on". The naked truth is, I'll stick with it's ALWAYS DELICIOUS neighbor Cheesecake Royale. Just my two cents, please spend it wisely.

Sara R.

Yelp
You can taste the freshness. Crust is prefect. Will be back to try other pies. They are opened late and locally owned.

Christell B.

Yelp
Ordered a Bayou Goo for the office and all loved it. I'm not usually a pie fan but this was awesome. I would describe it as a delicious combo of cheesecake and chocolate mousse with candied pecans. Tried Alex's Lemon Icebox again a great dessert. Tangy, sweet and lighter for summer. It was perfect for our celebration.

Angelo S.

Yelp
Yelp says they were open til 8pm on Sunday so drove a long ways and find out they were only open for pickup. You got to let your customers know!

Natassia L.

Yelp
Our 3rd visit to Hubble pie was amazing and caused me to update my previous review. The pie was served in a timely fashion and the flavors were great. This is a great little spot for a slice or two of pie and a cup of coffee! We highly recommend the lemon ice box pie.

Joannah D.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Called day before to order pie and person who answered phone promised they would have one when I came in the next day. I offered to pay and give my name and they said that was not necessary. When I arrived next day they had sold what I had been promised. Nothing was offered to make up for the mistake but "I'm sorry." I will not be returning.
