Myself, my 12-year old daughter, a friend and her daughter all had the pleasure of partaking in the Saturday afternoon high tea this past weekend. It was delightful!! I had been wanting to do this for some time now, so I was so excited when my friend suggested we do this on the Mother's Day weekend.
Food: 5 out of 5 stars. Just the right amount of an array of small finger sandwiches and small dessert items were provided, so that I didn't feel gluttonous but still had plenty to eat. I loved the warm scones with clotted cream we were served at the end. It is a pre-set menu. If you have special dietary restrictions, you may need to clarify whether these can be accommodated or not during the booking.
Tea: 5 out of 5 stars. We were served 3 different types of tea, although I believe my friend made a special request for one of the teas. Please note that since the tea is served in China teapots and not any sort of metal/thermal container, it may cool quicker than otherwise. So I recommend not letting the tea sit around too long, especially once poured into a cup.
Ambiance: 5 out of 5 stars!!! From the fine china, the lovely table settings, the area with a flowery backdrop for pictures, to the live harpist, the ambiance is incredible!
Service: 5 out of 5 stars. I give some leniency for the fact that it was an extremely busy Mother's Day weekend, and the tearoom was filled with other people enjoying high teas. But the server did her best to attend to us, and we were able to get any extra items we needed when asked. The highlight was when the owner came out and spoke to us personally, as I imagine she does with everyone having high tea, and took some pictures for us. It was a pleasure to meet her.
Overall, we had an incredible time at their high tea this weekend, and I'm so happy I was able to go. It was definitely a bucket list item for me!!
