This is the nicest flavor I've EVER tasted in a honey. It tastes like a mouth full of marshmallows exploded on your tongue! So delicious on my morning toast or cornbread side. Just AMAZING!!!

Hummingbird Wholesale is great! Been buying their products for a couple of years now and really appreciate the consistency. As for comments about shady pricing maybe they were incorrectly priced and it wasn't realized until a customer pointed it out?? It happens. Cacao nibs are an expensive product for a reason and once you learn about how it is harvested you realize the high price is actually pretty fair. Thank you to Hummingbird Wholesale!

I've ordered various nuts, seeds and miscellaneous items from Hummingbird and have generally found them to be high quality, but expensive. A recent bag of "Awakened Almonds" ($87 for 5#) gave me an allergic reaction. When I went back to the store, I was told they couldn't be returned because they'd been opened. ("That's when the FDA gets involved," customer service manager Kylie told me. I had an image of Feds swarming the tiny, local shop.) Obviously I wouldn't have known the nuts would give me a reaction if I hadn't opened the bag. I asked to exchange the bag for another (much less expensive) bag of almonds, but that was also a no-go. Kylie argued that they "can't be expected to cater to everyone's food preferences", although it strikes me as a fairly universal preference to not have one's airways close in response to a food. With their prices, couldn't they afford some customer love?

I've been supporting Hummingbird products for over 4 years now since moving to OR. Their bulk food items that I find at my local independent stores in Eugene are a real COST SAVINGS and I feel confident in the high quality of ingredients. If you ever get a chance to visit their location, I suggest you do. Lots of different things like bees wax, beans, rice, jams, honey and t-shirts can be found there in their NEW location behind the train station in downtown. I love the bulk local honey in particular and appreciate all the local bee keepers who help keep my partner stocked w/ his precious honey for his morning coffee. Thankful for local food and local food providers!

They're already closed on weekends and then close on a weekday when customers are trying to come and get product for their store/shop. Usually I don't have a problem, but now I refuse to send customers up their way. If Hummingbird cared more about their customers they'd do a much better job of customer service.

I have been purchasing from Hummingbird for my restaurants and home for years. These guys are truly amazing. They are literally saving the world as far as I'm concerned. They have the absolute highest, uncompromisingly exquisite standards for their food and their prices are reasonable. They even open their wholesale outlet to the public! Go there!!

I am starting this new year feeling renewed, and on a sunny January day I find myself looking out at my garden with longing. 2011 was the first year that I felt like I actually knew what I was doing when it came to "putting food by," and finding Hummingbird Wholesale was a key touchstone on my journey. For those of you who share my obsession (e.g., www.wecanpicklethat.com), you know that putting organic vegetables into preservative-laden vinegar seems a real waste of 6 hours. Well, look no further than the good ol' HBW for the best ingredients to complement all of your hard work. They carry high-quality, organic, white wine, apple cider, and red wine vinegars--all stored in 1 - 2.5 gallon glass jars!! If you're into the fancy stuff, they also provide blackberry and balsamic vinegars too. Oh, that all restaurants would shop here! I paid $17.50 apiece for my two gallons of white wine vinegar, which is exorbitant compared with Cash and Carry's $4 option (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cash-and-carry-eugene#hrid:rAhH3c6g98kU2Or1IddXPg/src:self), but dirt cheap compared to Amazon, or any other grocer I found during my search. As a tip, most items that are to be ordered from HBW have to come from a Wholesaler account.
