Finger Licking gooooood! We ordered the chicken shawarma plate and Lamb both of which were served with rice and salad. The hummus tasted Soooooo goood. We ordered the Traditional and Jalapeño cilantro ( For me it wasn’t that spicy) but it tasted so so soooo goood and cherry on top is the service. Really nice people and great pita breads! ❤️

Great Mediterranean Food Near My Hotel I was looking for Mediterranean food and found this restaurant conveniently located near my hotel. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and it tasted absolutely delicious! Highly recommended for anyone craving good Mediterranean cuisine.

when we walked in we were overwhelmed by the smoke coming from the kitchen. the entire restaurant air was hazy, and the interior and the poor lighting reminded me of a cafeteria. the service was very good, but the food was mediocre. i’ve definitely had better mediterranean food than this.

Food was good, the interior needs a good fixer upper, but don't let that discourage you. You'll have a good meal at a great price. Went for lunch and was seated quickly.

I originally ordered a lentil soup to go and I told him if it was good I was coming back to dine in. I must say everything was exceptionally delicious & fresh. Highlights definitely go to the habanero hummus👌🏾. That half chicken smoke flavor you could taste throughout. And the Kafta actually tastes handmade to perfection with the herbs and spices cooked over a open flame🔥. This place does Mediterranean food justice hands down. You will be satisfied, I guarantee it. Highly recommend 💯.

I would leave pictures but my plate is EMPTY! Best Lamb Shawarma I have ever had. I also had the jalapeño cilantro hummus and together it was unreal. I live an hour away and will come back any time I fly in to LAX. Service was great, very friendly. Highly recommend!

We stopped in a few months ago based on Yelp reviews. The restaurant was dark and could have had better days. We selected some baklava in the display and asked to also purchase some pita chips. When we got home and opened the container of pita chips, they were all broken into little pieces, like what you'd find at the bottom of a bag of crushed chips. Needless to say, we were disappointed as we were planning to dip them in some fresh hummus. Baklava was just ok. The restaurant was not busy with customers when we entered, but the kitchen seemed to be cooking up take out or pickup orders. Don't think we'll be back.

I'm a sucker for chicken shawarma. It's one of the best Middle Eastern foods ever. If you disagree, we might have to throw hands. Anyway, when I saw this place was walking distance from my hotel, I knew I had to try. From the outside, it's underwhelming. The sign is easy to miss. It's in an older strip of storefronts beside Hawthorne that could definitely use some love and care. However, immediately on walking in, I was sure I chose wisely. I had flashbacks to my time working in the Middle East. All the very best restaurants I found over there seemed to be hidden away, hole in the wall places. Hummus House fits that mold perfectly. Inside, there was football (soccer to us in the States) on a TV, Middle Eastern music playing just loud enough, and bit of tasteful decor while staying mostly utilitarian. I was greeted and seated by a very friendly young man who turned out to also be my server. Another thing that reminded me of Oman, where not many places had separate hosts and servers. I instantly liked his attitude, energy, and how welcoming he was to the only white dude in the place. I ordered the zucchini dumplings, a chicken shawarma plate with habanero hummus (the hottest of their 9 hummus choices), and a Coke. My new friend brought me some crispy pita strips and garlic sauce as a starter (think chips and salsa in a Mexican restaurant). The pita chips were perfect, not overcooked or stale. And the creamy garlic sauce worked perfectly with them. 8.5 out of 10. Then came the zucchini dumplings. I don't know what all is in them but I guarantee one ingredient is magic. These things are absolutely indescribably good. Amazing, fabulous, delicious, any other word I can think of falls short. They came with the same garlic sauce and I wasn't mad about it. The flavor combo wasn't just good, it was otherworldly. Over 9000 out of 10. Then came the main event. Perfect strips of chicken shawarma, simple yellow rice, a salad with Greek dressing, and warm pita quarters. I opened a pita and stuffed it with all the things. And, friend? No lie, it was another level, again! I just sat there with my eyes closed, shaking my head in disbelief at how good it was. My server friend noticed and popped by to make sure it was happy head shakes. I don't know, a billion out of 10? Hummus House was the whole package for me. Excellent, authentic ambiance. Super friendly and fast service. Food to die for. Seriously, go! It's worth it!

Four of us enjoyed a takeout dinner from the Hummus House recently. The interior of the restaurant is nothing to write home about, but don't let that fool you. The food is excellent. They offer a wide range of different hummus variations. Our favorites were the roasted red pepper, the artichoke, and the jalapeno cilantro. The braised lamb shank was tender and flavorful. The beef shawarma and kafta kabob were nicely seasoned, and the chicken kabobs had a nice char on the outside but were still tender and juicy on the inside. We also had the fried chicken, which is not always available. On this evening, it was. Lucky for us - because it was crispy and beautifully seasoned. Yum. All of the food had a wonderful aroma. Prices were fair and portion sizes were generous.

Worst for vegetarians. Ordered falafel plate to go and it was inedible and had to throw away.

Got this lunch Saturday the meat was badly burned and black I have been a customer for years I always do to go this time it was burned

I was out in LA with my business partner, looking for a Mediterranean restaurant when we came came across the Hummus house I've got to say at first we were a little skeptical because it was very quiet for a Saturday evening, but we quickly discovered when the waiter brought us variety flavors of homemade style hummus that this definitely was the real deal. The food was amazing. The rice had a great flavor. The chicken and Kafka was so juicy and the pita bread was the best we've had. I will definitely make the drive from Riverside to the hummus house in the future..Also wanted to give a shout out to for the Great Service. The server was friendly , kept our drinks full and very attentive.

THE JALAPEÑO HUMMUS WAS CHIEF'S KISS. The chicken was moist and juicy, and the rice was good. The chicken wrap was a small size but very tasty. The hummus was really good! The food overall was fresh. The service was good! They were very friendly and understanding because we came 20 mins before they close. My man and I wanted to eat before our long drive back home since we were from out of town. I would totally come back!

I would definitely make the 20+ mile drive back to this place! Sooo delicious! From the dressing in the Greek salad to the garlic sauce! The 3 kabob entree was soooo delicious . This was my first time here but certainly not my last. If you are not familiar with the area as I wasn't be advised they are in the little shopping center that you have to enter before getting to the restaurant. I had to drive around once I realized. Parking was not too bad but it was all full. The gentleman that gave me the food was very nice. Thank you for the extra garlic sauce!

Stopped in after a doctor's appointment in the area. I was seated right away and the staff was very attentive to me as a solo diner. There was plenty of space for me to sit away from anyone else there. And the space was fairly quiet. I chose the quarter chicken lunch special because I wanted to try one of their signature hummus options. I opted for the artichoke pesto hummus because it was one I hadn't seen elsewhere and it was delicious. The chicken also had a nice cinnamon seasoning on it I really liked and the saffron rice was fluffy and buttery. The lunch special was a great deal - a sizeable portion for the price. Parking nearby is limited so be prepared to hunt if you go there during a busy time of day.

Authentic Mediterranean food is hard to find. This place is by far the best in the South Bay. The ambience is a little out dated but their friendly staff and delicious food make up for that. The hummus was amazing and the lamb kabobs were so tender and delicious

This is hidden gem! Food is delicious, portion are on point and staff service is great. It's worth stopping by! The hummus flavors are fantastic, gave them all a try and they were all tasty.

Falafel 8/10 - Had a lot of fresh greens inside - Taste a bit different than traditional falafels - Still recommend Chicken Shawarma Wrap 10/10 - had hummus already inside - Chicken well seasoned - Salad inside was good. Hummus & Tzatziki 10/10 - perfect dip for all my food Chocolate Baklava 10/10 - had chocolate drizzle on top - Had a crust on the bottom - Yummy flaky layers Pita Bread 7/10 - standard pita bread I ordered my food to go through the phone and they were nice enough to let me eat in the restaurant. The food took about 20 minutes to be ready. The food was full of flavor and was more than enough for one person. I think two people can share the amount of food I ordered. The customer service is amazing here as well, the workers are very kind and welcoming. The location was clean and tidy. The location was not busy around the time I went which was at 12:30 pm. Will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Wanted a quick hummus bite for lunch and decided to stop by Hummus House. Lamb shawarma wrap - They offer two options white or wheat for a pita wrap. The portion size initially looks like a pretty small but it is actually decently sized especially for a lunch portion. Contains greens, onions, diced tomatoes black beans and protein. The protein ratio is pretty good. ($13) Service was good, they even offered me some extra white garlic sauce for free. I didn't sit down, but the ambiance was welcoming enough. Definitely a place I will return to!

Staying nearby this place in Hawthorne, for a show at SoFi, and stumbled upon Hummus House randomly - and was glad we did! Lots of seating , friendly staff, and great lunchtime specials during the week! Also, a great garlic dip and pita crisps for the table to enjoy while we waited for our food. Everything was really good, and fresh tasting - they didn't have my first option (the kafta) ready yet so I just got the lamb wrap lunch special and it was very good! We were all surprised by the big portions! Would definitely come back, lots of accessible to go boxes for sauces/food too.

Finding this place was kind of tricky, parking was trickier. They have a A rating, vintage look on the inside. It was completely empty, service was QUICK. I got a 2 kabob plate. A bit pricey. I got beef and shrimp, This was some really good seasoned beef!!! Enjoyed the shrimps very much! This was my first time having Garlic Hummus, REALLY good. The garlic butter is different then what I'm use too but really good. It was more like a garlic sauce, very saucey. The rice was regular, tasty but nothing special. Definitely recommend.

My First time ordering in this Mediter. restaurant! Two Motha THUMBS UP!! I ordered (( 2 )) of there *SHRIMP N *BEEF KABOB with Salad, Rice, Pita Bread and Jalapeno ((not chilly at all)) hummus AWESOME AWESOME. The price was LESS THAN FIFTE DOLLAS!!

Is it Middle Eastern authentic? 100% Is it good food? Not really. Don't get me wrong it's not the worst but it's just not good. I got tricked to visit because of the 4.5 stars hype on yelp but will not come back. The fries were so sad and soggy, the soup was ok but definitely lacked flavor and the wraps had aluminum foil in the middle right where you bite. The chicken was ok. Highlight: The service was excellent.

Great Mediterranean place. Everything was solid. I liked how the salad had freshly cut olives, onions, and tomato's. The rice box medium size is actually quite large. There's plenty of seating, but it wasn't busy for a Thursday afternoon. There's a brighter seating area and also a darker seating area.

This was a last-minute choice, and, boy, did we hit the great-food lottery!! Hummus Sampler plate is awesome and great way to taste all their many hummus offerings. The jalapeño cilantro, the fiery chili, and the kalamata olive were our favorites, but all were yummy!! We had a lamb shawarma wrap and the vegetarian plate -- w/lentils and tzatziki -- just WOW!! Such tasty food all around! Very traditional ambiance and excellent service!! Highly recommend!! (We went to the 12211 Hawthorne Blvd, Hawthorne, CA location)

If I could give this Mediterranean gem 10 stars, I absolutely would! Assigning five stars simply doesn't do justice to the epicurean pleasure we found at this establishment. Our taste buds set off on a flavor journey right from the start. My wife savored a delightful small Greek salad, while I indulged in the delicious fried zucchini dumplings. The vinaigrette dressing on the salad was superb, and the dumplings were fried to perfection, revealing a perfect blend of flavors, completely free from any greasiness. The roasted garlic hummus paired with warm pita bread, a combination that left us craving for more. For our entrees, my wife's shrimp & steak kabob and my own Greek salad with garlic dressing and vinaigrette dressing took our palates to new heights. The steak was tender, bursting with exceptional flavors, and the rice was a delightful complement. We applaud our server, whose skill enhanced our dining experience significantly. We'll unquestionably be returning, grateful for the outstanding food and service that left us genuinely delighted. Thank you for everything!

Highly recommend coming here and dining in if you can. This is a whole in the wall (respectfully) that's a must when in the area. A few yrs back when we were around the area we ordered food and ever since we said we would love to eat hummus house again. Service was great. Very courteous and sweet waitress. I am sorry I don't remember her name. We ordered the kabob platter and falafel for starters. I have to say, especially for LA, this is an incredible value. The kabob platter comes with two kabobs, rice, salad and your choice of hummus with pita. Roughly 15 bucks for this amazing, fresh food is unheard of. Everything was absolutely delish. We went with the cilantro hummus and wow, I would eat just that and pita all day. Not to leave out the falafel.. it's exactly what you'd expect. Crispy, not oily and full of flavor. The ambiance is lacking. And I really hope the owners put in some work with the floors, tables, and lighting. It's really necessary to drive this home run in. We will return, again and again! Back in NY and having dreams of this food!

The meat kababob was hard and chewy i gave it to my dog and even my dog couldn't chew eat. Taste like old meat. I'm disappointed this will be my first and last time there. I hope that they can improve and make sure every plate comes out fresh and throw away bad meat.

Very nice environment and music. Felt like we were in the Mediterranean. The service was very good and attentive. Our waiter was happy to answer our questions and okay with our sharing several items. It was quick and efficient. It was fun watching, through the window, as the chefs prepared our food. The food was delicious. We loved the red pepper hummus and the tzatziki. The garlic sauce wasn't too overpowering. The chicken kabob was tender and juicy. They have many flavors of hummus, it was hard to pick which one. We agreed we would like to come back in the future. Would give it a five star but think it could use a sprucing up. The fabrics looked dusty, paint needs to be touched up and the ceiling tiles are stained. The restroom needs help! I hope they can give this some attention. We enjoyed the food and service.

We're staying at a nearby hotel and decided to check this place out and we're so glad we did. Service is fast and friendly. The food was out of this world, we had the chicken shawarma and the lamb shank entrees. Also had the zucchini dumplings. We also brought 2pieces of their baklava home for dessert! Everything was delicious, the food arrived quickly. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, we arrived about 5pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy, there were a lot of people picking up to go orders as well. The dining room we ate in was warm and inviting.

Finally tried this place after being recommended it from my family and it did not disappoint! Food is amazing I got the chicken shawarma and was so good. The hummus is amazing! Plus such wonderful service from everyone there. It's within walking distance of me so going to be coming here a lot more often.

Shocking this is not middle eastern or Mediterranean. Food was really disappointing. I have never had fattoush salad with no sumac or olive oil in hummus. The chicken kabob was dry, the kofta tasted really funky. Service was poor. Yelp you owe me a star

This is my second time trying Mediterranean Food, and it did not disappoint. Clinatro jalapeño hummus is a must. Service was quick, polite, and attentive. The rice is amazing mixed with the cilantro hummus.

Hummus house continues to be my favorite spots for a tasty chicken kabob . I usually do pickup . We opted on eating at the restaurant and it was just a plus. The warm pita bread was hard to resist . If in doubt go with the jalapeño hummus !!! Love it here

Hummus House is hidden in a stretch of Hawthorne Blvd in Hawthorne across from the long deserted Hawthorne mall. It is much larger than it appeared including seating deep into the rear of the restaurant. Free street parking. Good restrooms. Friendly server and an extensive menu and portions. Salads, rice, pita bread generally come with your order. The kabobs were tender and flavorful. Our party of 6 arrived at 7 and ordered a variety of foods including kabobs, wraps, and the vegetarian plate. Service was excellent as was the did food. It was very tasty and was hot and fresh. The server was attentive and refilled our drinks. The hummus sampler was fascinating and had ample portions of 9 different selections. They offer fried chicken legs and thighs only but call ahead to check availability. It was available during my visit but the rotisserie chicken was not but that could be because we dined 1 hour before closing on Saturday. We will return and add it to our regular rotation.
