I have wanted to check out Humo since opening. Finally! Had a chance to stop in for an early lunch. Humo's isn't a large place, but is a open concept. There is an I closed sunroom, also very welcoming. The bar area isn't big, but is very welcoming. We asked to sit out on the out door patio. Because it was just before noon, the sun was already on the other side of the building, this making it very comfortable to enjoy eating outside, on a very warm day, but not having the sun beating down on us. We even had a slight breeze that made sitting outside even more comfortable. Started with our refreshments. I had a sangria-Rita. We were brought the chips (house made tortilla chips) and salsa. I loved the salsa! First of all, each of us had our own little dish, this makes it great for double dipping. Second, it was the best tomatillo salsa I have ever had in a restaurant, and maybe ever in general. We ordered a side of refried beans for the chips, homemade refried beans, very good. My dad ordered the chicken soup, he said it was very good. Great flavor, perfect spice, with all the yummy trimmings to add in. He is a very picky eating, this is a huge compliment. I shared chicken tacos with my mother-n-law. Again, very good! Homemade corn tortillas, the whole chicken is cooked in their kitchen, and all the yummy fresh toppings. Comes with freshly made rice and refried beans. This meal took me back to sharing meals with my goods friends, whom are from Mexico City (we stay in touch but live in different states now). I found the found to be more true to the beautiful flavors of traditional- authentic Mexican food. All things fresh and homemade, excellent flavors. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Hopefully if you visit, you have her as your server, Sophia Carolina (there are two Sophia's so her middle name is also used).
I give Humo's five stars because their place is very clean (even the bathroom), welcoming, service was very good, and the food is absolutely delicious.
