July 2025 We need additional Chinese restaurants in this part of town. Healthy competition is great for consumers. Food is mediocre at best but attentive service and new decoration enhanced the experience. Whenever we visited a new restaurant, we would place some of the classic and traditional selection and Kung Pao Chicken was our choice. It tasted mediocre and too saucy. It shouldn’t be so much sauce and the sauce should be lightly coated with the dark meat. The beef noodle soup was also a very traditional dish in Hunan cooking. The beef broth was kind of bland. Frankly, I’m not sure I will return even though there are many enticing selection. Another reason for my hesitation, is the pricing of the order. It is pricy to estimate here. However, the restaurant looked clean and new. Servers were attentive and courteous. My rating as 5 is very satisfied Taste 3/5 Temperature 4/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Speed of service 5/5 Attentiveness and courteous 5/5 Will I return? Probably not since some better selection in Plano. Will I recommend? Yes. I think this is a good restaurant to try some Chinese food.

Google
Great Chinese restaurant! Didn't try any Hunan cuisine this visit, but the food we did have was excellent. In general, their ingredients are fresh and cooked well. Their Sichuan Boiled Fish was delicious, tender, and nicely spicy. It also came in a ridiculously large bowl without being overpriced. I recommend keeping your rice separate to help balance out the rich flavor of this dish. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I've been to that have snow pea leaves / shoots on the menu, which is already a green flag, this one had the best. On a side note, the water tasted amazing. The restaurant was also sparkling clean.

Google
We love this restaurant. The food is delicious, big portions, and great service. The interior has nice decor too. We got the lo mein beef noodles and kung pao chicken. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes soon!

Google
Drove for three hours to get to Dallas and couldn’t decide what to eat. Finally took a chance on Hunan cuisine — one of the hardest Chinese regional dishes to get right. Turned out to be quite satisfying; at least the stinky tofu was authentic, which is rare.

Google
Absolutely amazing food! Every dish was super delicious, authentic Chinese (sichuan) and fresh! The fish in hot oil was absolutely amazing and a giant portion, with good quality fish and nice spice level. The fried rice and fried chicken were amazing! You can’t go wrong at this place, especially if you like tasty Chinese food.

Google
The takeaway I ordered today, the pork liver was very fishy, and it didn't taste good at all. The pig's feet and chicken feet were different from before. They didn't taste good, and they were very small. The pig's feet were all bones. I have been here and eaten more than ten times. For the first time, I felt that it was not made by the same person.

Google
Food was great on my last visit. Parking was challenging during peak hours but that’s outside of the restaurant’s control. — We frequented the Plano location and glad to have them on Frisco. Overall the dishes were good. Some of them were a tad salty than I recall. During our visit the wait staff were severely understaffed but they did their best.

Google
We made a reservation for a group dinner of 12 and the restaurant called to confirm our reservation. However, when we arrived on time, we were told that they accepted another group ahead of us without notice and they had no table for us. They asked us to wait for 10-20 min for a new table to come out. THEY LIED. 12 of us have already waited in the front for an hour. We are still waiting in hunger. NO NEED TO RESERVE because THEY DON’T KEEP YOUR TABLE anyway. Think twice if you want to come for group dinner.

Yelp
I have lived in frisco for close to 25 years now. This is by far the most authentic, and best tasting Chinese food I think I've ever had. The fried rice was impeccable and the orange chicken should probably win an award. Not even joking this sh!t is BUSSIN.

Yelp
You know this place is good when you're the only one that isn't Chinese in the restaurant lol. Every time I've been here has been delicious. I usually will stay with the Americanized dishes, but the Hunan dishes look amazing. Every time I go here, all the tables are full and everyone is happy. I have never had a bad service experience here and always had good food. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Chinese

Yelp
We came for lunch on a Friday around noon and were surprised to find the place relatively quiet. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and has plenty of seating. The menu is an experience in itself: a thick, photo-packed book featuring over 20 pages dishes. It's almost overwhelming but also super helpful for first timers. We ended up ordering four dishes - Stir-fried Pork (family style, Hengyang Braised Vermicelli, Braised Chicken Feet with Pig Feet, Hunan Hot & Sour Chicken Gizzards. All of the food was very spicy but delicious. Service was excellent -- our server was attentive without hovering, drinks were refilled promptly, and food arrived surprisingly fast.

Yelp
This restaurant has been a staple. The food has been consistent, and every dish we have tried has been delicious. This time we order the house special lotus root, the stinky tofu Hunan style, flavored egg with eggplant and pepper salad, house special garlic fish fillet, and the beef fillet with black pepper. Don't snooze on this place!

Yelp
You must try this place ASAP. Highly recommend for good Chinese food with looots of flavor. Their menu is never ending with so many options to cater to various palate, from adventurous to simple eaters. Spicy dishes are not as overwhelming compared to Szechuan cuisine! (5/5) Stir Fried Pork Family Style I really liked this one. The pork is juicy and the sauce is to die for. This is so amazing with rice! (5/5) Crispy Pork Intestine I haven't had pork intestine as flavorful and crispier than this. My favorite dish from Hunan Chef. I'm drooling just thinking about it! (4/5) House Special Lotus Root Cooked perfectly with a nice chew. Imagine the texture of a water chestnut. Little bit of chili pepper gives it a nice kick. (4/5) Flavored Egg with Egg Plant and Pepper Salad What a unique way to eat egg plants! It comes in a mortar and pestle and you mesh it up before eating. It has a nice tang and chew from the century egg. Not for people who don't like mushy texture! (4.5/5) Stinky Tofu Hunan Style Not very stinky with excellent crunchy texture and strong cumin taste. Anyone who's been afraid to try stinky tofu should start off with this one. Surprisingly pleasant! (3.5/5) Steamed Pork Belly with Bun Ample amount of braised pork belly with all the sauce and pickled vegetables. I thought the pork belly could be a bit more moist. (4.5/5) Garlic Flavored Boneless Chicken Cubes The garlic flavor in this is amazing. It's so addicting and you won't be able to stop eating. A must dish! (4/5) Typhoon Shelter Lotus Cake This is a really unique dish. The crunch is nice and the filling makes for a meaty texture.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Chinese restaurant! The flavors are authentic and the service is very quick. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and so delicious. My favorite dish that we got was the pork belly bao and the walnut shrimp.

Yelp
We ordered egg rolls, orange chicken, steamed rice, sautéed string beans, and an order of soup dumplings. The egg rolls were ok; crispy, but not overly flavorful. They were served with what I believe to be a sweet and sour sauce (?) that was quite sweet, so it didn't complement the egg rolls that well. The orange chicken dish had a decent flavor profile, combining a sweet and tangy orange sauce with crispy battered chicken. It tasted like average orange chicken. The sautéed string beans were probably our favorite dish with the right amount of flavor and a hint of spice. The soup dumplings were also a nice dish as well and were easily finished. Overall the restaurant offers plenty of different options of dishes that I'm sure would please a variety of people.

Yelp
Food is pretty good, but everytime don't know what's wrong with the Chinese waitress, when I was trying to add something Togo, she stared at us with impatience like saying what else do you need? The waiter quickly came to us and do our order, adding water, and did everything, she just standing in the front desk text ppl watch her phone, tell other servers to do all the job, the Mexicans did all the cleaning , will never come back again ruined the appetite. And the packaging is so bad, they can't even seal things in the soup container, I have to detail my car, smells so bad, and everything is in a mess

Yelp
Love the food here! It's fresh, authentic, and unique with a wide variety. Service was very attentive. And food portions were large and definitely family style. Food definitely is spicy, so make sure you're going in with eyes wide open. + Eggplant with peppers and thousand year old eggs was our favorite + Intestines in dry pot were super spicy but nice and soft chew + Clams were good + Veggies were fresh and excellent

Yelp
This place is delicious. I didn't know what to expect coming in, but it was definitely worth the stop. First off, it's around the corner from Ranch 99, so not in the greatest location but still easy to find. This place has a HUGE menu, everything from noodles/dumplings to more traditional Hunan food. Every thing we ordered came out with a sizeable portion and ended up being delicious. What we got: - Twice cooked pork with bean curd: Not overly spicy, full of flavor and delicious - Garlic fish (?): Can't remember what this dish was called but it came in a huge claypot with tons of fish. Only thing here is it could have been a little bit more flavorful, but it was definitely a "clean" feeling dish - Pork belly over mustard greens: The photo in the menu makes it look like they load the buns, but you really get 6 buns. That's beside the point though, as the pork belly we received had the right amount of fat to meat ratio and was packed full of flavor. The waitstaff is super nice and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely come here if you're in the area looking for some authentic Hunan food.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and I think this is going to be my favorite Chinese spot in the DFW area. I hate to say it (believe me, I really do) but it's true that it's sometimes hard finding a Chinese restaurant that's both delicious and has amazing service. I don't personally think that other Chinese restaurants have rude service, per se, but they lack that customer service that we all want as diners when we eat out and drop some serious money. And I only mention the money part because both times that I've come, we had a party of 8, making the bill well above $300. My family has a bunch of piggies and we can eat. Everything that we've ordered came out really quick and was incredibly fresh tasting. Both times we've been here, it was on a Saturday at 5:30 and so there were plenty of seats, which quickly filled up by 6ish. The service, as I have alluded, was really good, both times we've been. They anticipated what we needed before we mentioned anything and anything that we asked for, they promptly assisted us. I really hope the quality stays like this. Please don't change! Stand out dishes, because there are just too many: stinky tofu, pork belly, the pork shank, and the whole fried fish with chilies. Ugh, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it.
google avatar

Yelp
Hunan style cuisine that leans more heavily towards spicy dishes (though they do have some that aren't spicy or can be modified to not be spicy). In general the food is good albeit skewing a bit in some cases to be heavy on chili oil. Service was courteous and fast. We tried: Spicy pig ears - tasty but a pool of chili oil Spicy beef noodle soup - a miss for me Dried scallop and bamboo fungus duck soup - very tasty Sautéed crab - good but so messy to eat Soup dumplings - these were average Clams - these were yummy And a veggie dish - also yummy but I wish I could remember what the dish was called I'd recommend a bowl of rice since it helps cut a bit of the salt and spice.
google avatar

Rheeee R.

Yelp
Rude staff. Bad food. No English. No good. Ruined my night. Would not recommend. Stay away trust me.
google avatar

Catherine F.

Yelp
Their food was delicious, but a fair warning that it's on the saltier side. My table ordered the Black Chicken & Cordyceps Flowers Soup, Sizzling Beef, Braised Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce, Dry Pot Flavored Konjak w/ Duck, Happy Clam w/ Pepper, and Sauteed Chinese Yam w/ Homemade Sauce; I also tried a cup of their yogurt drink. I liked everything we ordered but would probably skip on the yam next time. This place was bustling on a Saturday afternoon; nevertheless, the workers were attentive.

Yelp
Authentic authentic Chinese in Frisco, much better than other ones in Frisco. Decor is nice Food portion was ok. Garlic fish was a lot but other food portion was just ok, got broccoli beef and spicy crispy chicken. Bingfen was good. Broccoli beef - beef was tender 4/5 Garlic fish 5/5. Can't find this dish anywhere else but Hunan Bistro in Plano. The cook could have moved from Plano to here? Spicy crispy chicken 4.5/5 Just a tad 1/2 level below our favorite place Chongqing House in Plano Overall super solid Chinese food in Frisco

Yelp
Hunan chef has an extensive menu. There is something for everyone including vegetarians. The servings were a lot and we decided to do family style so we could try all of the items. The soup dumplings were okay. The greens were delicious with the garlic sauce. I didn't care for the lotus but my friends loved it. The egg friend rice is a basic dish but it was really good. My friends enjoyed the eggplant. The tofu was so good. I would definitely return to this location. The service was friendly and authentic. The restaurant was clean and started to get busy around lunchtime.
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
We decided to come here for a quick lunch since it was near a ranch 99 grocery store! It was a real treat! The flavor of both dishes that we order was outstanding! I had the beef lo mein, the noodles were just perfect and my husband had the stir fried tofu slices with pork, it was spicy! This tofu dish was very oily too! But good flavor! There were just 3 staff working but they were very efficient!

Yelp
Really good AUTHENTIC chinese food. We decided to give it a try and very happy we did. Many different plates we had was top 5 best dishes we had. Im surprised more people are not talking about this place. If there us anything that you get the peppered beef is a MUST.

Doreen T.

Yelp
Came many times. Food is consistently good. My favorite shechuan place. Hope they keep up the good work.

Kelly L.

Yelp
They have these beautiful solid wood craved Chinese tables and chairs. Great place to hold a party or for special occasions or just with friends. The menu is amazing. It took us 10 minutes to read all the captions for each of the dishes. It's Hunan style so SPICY is the norm. They serve dishes I have never seen before and if you are a super adventurous person, this is your place. They have frog belly, turtle, duck feet and tongue, pigs ears and feet and legs and intestines and liver, ... and all the dishes looked amazing! They also have chicken, beef, pork, seafood, ... cooked in all different ways. We ordered the Flavored Egg W/Eggplant & Pepper Salad and asked for as mild as they can make it and it was spicy! If you take out the green chili peppers and just eat the eggplant and the 1000 year old eggs, it's delicious. Next we had their Beef Fillet W/Black Pepper and the sauteed beef was so tender! They add King Mushrooms that had absorbed the sauce. Loved this hint of spicy dish. And our final dish was the Sizzling Seafood Egg Tofu. They used the egg tofu that is silky and smooth with a little bit of shrimp, squid and black mushrooms. Wished they had added more seafood to go with the tofu. This dish was not spicy.

Yelp
What a hidden gem in a strip mall in Plano. The food is authentic and flavorful. The pork rib tips were absolutely delicious! Have not had authentic Chinese like this while in DFW. Check it out. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
Another restaurant run by people who've never been to a restaurant before. Starting with the tables that are too low to the ground and have no place to put your legs or knees. I tried 3 times to order iced tea and ended up ordering a hot tea with a cup of ice. I tried to order the sweet potato toffee but was told they don't have it. It's literally just made of potato and sugar, which they sell at the 99 Ranch store which is right next door. Even if they ran out, they couldn't just go get more potato? After finding out they wouldn't serve me what I wanted, I instead ordered the cumin lamb and potstickers. I told the waiter 3 times to make it MILD spicy. I'm sure that he heard and understood me. For $19 I was served a small bowl of mostly spinach with some lamb on it, and it was totally covered in spicy peppers. Did not include white rice. It tasted OK but was so overwhelmingly spicy that I just couldn't eat it. They never brought the potstickers or refilled our drinks or came to check on us after we got the very spicy inedible food. After a very long time, we got up and walked over to the front and ask if they can bring the check and a refill of my drink. The guy comes over and brings a plastic container with a lid and fills it with the hot tea. I don't know what or why. Then when bringing the check, he insists that I have to pay for the potstickers. I told him that i never got the potstickers so you can cancel it. He looks confused and says they will bring the potstickers now, but I have to pay for it. I several more times refused to pay for the potstickers and told him we're done and leaving, the potstickers were an appetizer. After getting really annoyed, the waiter finally removed the potstickers from the check and allowed us to pay and leave. Terrible food and even worse service.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Chinese food! Everything we ate was amazing. All the dishes had alot of flavor and portions were a good size. Recommend going with a big group and ordering a variety of dishes as they are family style here. Wait staff was friendly, more fluent in Taiwanese vs English. The restaurant was fairly crowded when we arrived after the lunch hour but the service was still timely. Will definitely return to try other dishes!
google avatar

Sandra K.

Yelp
Everything was delicious and piping hot. Didn't love it completely but overall everything was pretty good. At the end we packed everything to go and they took away our rice bucket. That seemed pretty weird and we had to take the food home without the white rice. Womp.
google avatar

Curtis M.

Yelp
10/10 experience. Soft music, lovely staff, warm ambiance. Had the orange chicken and egg fried rice. Both were possibly the best versions of either that I've ever had. A little pricey but servings match it quite well. Worth a dinner date or two, for sure.
google avatar

Yelper A.

Yelp
Gotta love people reviewing a restaurant having no clue what the specialties of the restaurant are. Typical Americanized patrons heh. I'll say the food is quite authentic Hunan style. And yes a lot will be spicy. I'm not a huge fan of spicy but I can appreciate that it's done right. The space at the big tables though leave much to be desired. Super cramped and the heavy chairs are a burden to move if even just a little. Places like these you can expect the staff to come off as rude to the untrained eye. But for people that know, it's just the way it is. Don't be annoying and you'll be fine. Start being a brat and you'll get response in kind.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
Visited this spot on a busy evening and was pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. The interior was not only crowded but very, very clean - a testament to the attention to detail. The fish, though slightly on the spicy side, hit a good balance - tender and well-seasoned. The radish strips underneath (a bit different from the same menu item at their plano store) were a treat, although a tad oily. The century egg and eggplant dish is completed with the Mortar and pestle live right in front of you. And of course, the corn is always one of my favorites. The prices might make you raise an eyebrow, but the portion sizes are not bad and it makes for a great place to go with friends and just sit and catch up. Some might find the dishes a bit on the heavy side, but pair it with rice, and it's perfectly balanced. The service was quick and pleasant. Our server not only ensured our needs were met promptly but also engaged in good conversation, adding a personal touch to the dining experience.

Yelp
Wow the food was other world good. Wish we had a place like this where I live but Dallas is close. We had Cumin Lamb, Shrimp Tofu, Spicy Duck and cabbage and noodle w seafood soup. Service was excellent people were very nice. I'm coming back next trip.
google avatar

Van L.

Yelp
My sister recommended this restaurant, so my daughter and I decided to try it since we were in the area. She told me that each dish was large, and it was all family style, so we knew not to order too much. The prices seemed high, but it was worth it. We ordered 2 dishes along with a bowl of rice for each of us and had a lot of leftovers. Seasoning was great for both dishes, and we'll definitely be back to try other dishes. Service was excellent! The restaurant was clean, and the staff was very friendly.
google avatar

Nilsa A.

Yelp
Good was amazing. Shumai just had rice and bit bland. The fried rice, lomein, beef and broccoli were very tasty. Service was just ok, maybe due to being full. The place is very small with many locals, clean. The taste of the food and portions would definitely prompt me to return.

Yelp
I felt like I was in China when I walked in and saw the dining tables, decor, ambiance... and then it was reenforced when I opened the menu. I literally felt like I was flipping through a menu I'd experienced on my many trips to China! The service was very attentive, bringing my kids their plastic ware and bowls upon sitting and asking for our drink orders... and quickly taking our orders. We started with the spicy shower pig ear, and continued to order the crispy boneless diced chicken, steamed flavored egg, chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings and house special fish fillet. I'd say the pig ear and fish fillet dishes stole the show - they were spicy and so flavorful!! I might have downed two or three pitchers of water since my mouth was on fire... but mind you, I can't tolerate heat very well anyways, lol. Some of the dishes we ordered weren't spicy at all since our kids can't tolerate heat. You're stepping into a restaurant that offers Hunan cuisine so expect the food to be spicy! Enjoy! We'll be back to try other dishes!
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
We've been coming here since they opened. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. The wife loves loves loves their stinky Tofu. Despite the name, it is actually really tasty. It's as crispy as tofu can be, without being hard. If you want to try some legit Hunan dishes, this is your place. Tried the pepper beef, and this is by far the most tender beef I've had in a Chinese dish. OK.... so everything is amazing this time. It was always excellent, but the new dishes are fire. OMG.... the Coconut Lava Balls are freaking amazing. They're like a cross between a sesame ball, the fried pumpkin dessert, and whatever is the crispiest fried doughball you've ever had.... except it oozes out this yummy coconut goo. All in all, this place stands out above all restaurants in the area. The price per dish is a little high, but the portions are larger than average. But with this being one of the highest quality Chinese meals you'll have, don't worry about a couple extra dollars.
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
This was a nice place to stumble on into, the ambiance was welcoming and so were the servers, very attentive. The food was phenomenal, everything Hunan is spicy so if you can handle to heat, goooo get you some good eats.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
This was one incredible new restaurant in Frisco that serves very good and authentic Chinese food, especially the spicy dishes. The restaurant had a newly remodeled and well decorated interior. The service was not great though, as was usually the case with Chinese restaurants. I came alone and tried the Boiled Hot spicy blood curd and vegetables dish and it was the best version of it I had so far in terms of taste, and it came in a generous portion of mushrooms and bean sprouts. I'm truly pleasantly surprised. Although I had a large appetite and tried my best, I could only finish half of the dish. Their menu was so pretty I took a picture of all the pages. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for authentic and great Chinese food.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
Very good service and very fast! The food is very authentic. My husband is from Hunan and he really likes the food! Will for sure come again!!
google avatar

Lam B.

Yelp
Plenty of spicy, authentic Chinese food options here. We had an assortment of food from braised duck to beef noodles to lamb. Everything was very tasty but some of my friends couldn't handle the spices. The service was accommodating and the restaurant was clean. I'll be back to try the intestinal items.

Minh T.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant with flavorful dishes, very authentic. Service is fast and friendly, they'll even box your leftovers for you. Be careful if you're not into spicy food, be well informed if a dish is spicy. Otherwise, your tongue may go numbed. Also, sometimes the dishes may not look like what's in the menu pics . We had bamboo in dry pot and it didn't look like anything in the pic. Still tasted decent. One of my favorite restaurant for sure, I would recommend crispy boneless diced chicken, sizzling egg tofu, steamed pork belly with bun, beef fillet with black pepper. Yum Yum!!

Yelp
Run, Don't Walk To Hunan Chef! "Oh my, God." "Mmmm." "That's good." "Wow." These are the literal words that had a chance to escape our lips as we ate an absolutely delicious meal. Tip: 1) Everything is family style; 2) There are A LOT of options, so don't get hung up on your selection because you will be back . Atmosphere- When you walk in you smell something delicious in the air. You see a beautifully designed dining room with furniture that looks like real wooden artwork. You hear the sound of great music. Service- Excellent and above board. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with a smile. Every was was really kind from the woman (who we think may have been the chef or an owner) that walked us through the very extensive menu. She made recommendations, explained what was what and was patient. We ordered tea and soup in addition to the main meals and they served us when they arrived. They check in on us at the right times. Food- Excellent is an understatement. This food was good it touch my soul. This food reminds me of my grandmother's cooking because clearly there is a sprinkle of love that gets added. I know that really cheesy, but I don't care. This is the best food I've had in a very long time and we eat out often (maybe too often). Anyhoo, we had: 1) Braise fish cake w/ three delicacies; 2) Spicy, shrimp Hunan with style; 3)Eggplant w/ green bean; 4) Scallion pancake; 5) Jasmine green tea.

Yelp
The food was delicious!! My family enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered! The food was fresh and well seasoned with lots of flavor. Service could be a little more attentive. But as long as we get what we want it's ok. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
This is not American Chinese Food, which is a nice change. You see menu items you've never seen at other Chinese restaurants. Menu has pictures and wait staff is patient to help us order. Everything we had was outstanding. Restaurant was full and service and pace of food was excellent. Nice comfortable seating and not too loud despite being full. Reasonable prices and good bar menu.

Yelp
Very authentic Hunan food. The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff was really friendly. The food was pretty good but not as spicy as I thought it would be based off the reviews. The soup dumplings were the only thing that lacked flavor. It is pretty pricey, we got three things and our total came out to $70.
google avatar

Lulu C.

Yelp
The food was delicious! They came out the way that it should be. Very authentic and not too spicy. Eggplant was the hit on the table. I personally loved the chopped pepper on the lobster, it can go with bowls of rice easily! Service was very good too, with very nice decor inside.

Yelp
Customer service was very attentive. Food was really really delicious! Came out quite fast. Most of the food is spicy but there are also many yummy non spicy options! Overall would totally come back here again.

Yelp
My family and I came here for dinner. We enjoyed the taste and the portions were huge. We enjoyed our dining experience. The servers were prompt. The atmosphere was pleasant. The cost was a bit high. We would consider coming back.

Yelp
Very clean and well-decorated oriental atmosphere. Service is attentive, polite and easy to communicate with. I was very excited to have a Hunan specialty Chinese restaurant in close distance. I usually go to Hunan Bistro in Plano but this one is more convenient and is on par with them so far! So the food: Hunan cuisine is known for being very spicy and uses fresh chili. I am shocked and appalled by the low ratings due to the food being too spicy. Hunan is a very underrated region in my opinion and my favorite type of Chinese food. We were also warned by the server that the food is spicy. I ordered 3 dishes: crispy fried pork intestines, garlic eggplant, and pork liver with garlic chives. Overall, they were all delicious and definitely exceeded my expectations. It was spicy, but not painfully spicy. Pork intestines were perfectly crispy with a good chewy bite. Eggplant was soft, comforting and garlicky. Pork liver was about as good as pork liver can get haha. Maybe it could've been more spicy or saltier, but it was doable. Price-wise, it was expensive but expected. You are guaranteed leftovers that would last for a couple more days anyways. So I was not at all bothered when I received my check. My food last me 3 days, so definitely well worth it. I will be coming back to try more authentic Hunan-specialty dishes like the fish head or pork and peppers etc. This place definitely hits the spot if you want a spicy, salty and authentic Hunan Chinese experience. If the owner is reading this: I wish to give feedback on how to improve but my overall experience has been so positive that I have yet to find any distinguishable flaws. Perhaps next time!

Yelp
Service was great, very helpful and patient; the place was clean, modern and elegant; the food was outstanding, the best we have eaten with Chinese influence. We have lived in the area for 30 years, and all we ever see is "americanized" wannabe Chinese. The dishes were truly authentic, tremendous selection and clearly prepared by a trained chef, no line cook in this place. Szechuan is my favorite and this restaurant does not disappoint. We had three dishes, each unique and yet each complimented the other. Plan on heat in a good way and enjoy!

Yelp
pretty good family style meals in Frisco area. The quality is more like home cooked meals rather than you average chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Went with some friends, got the best food I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Would recommend the restaurant, but especially the walnut shrimp.

Yelp
Ate here with wife in late afternoon on a weekday. Restaurant empty. Very nice decor, clean. I had beef with pepper, wife had sweet & sour chicken. All tasty, hot, served quickly. Good-sized servings. Wife thought the sweet & sour chicken was mostly breaded coating and less chicken. A good place to go for adventuresome real Chinese food: pig ears, chicken feet, intestines etc. etc. Maybe we'll try some of this stuff another time
