**Update: The owner of the company called me and apologized to me about my experience. That earned my respect for him because the gesture was so thoughtful. He seemed very kind and genuine. I changed my rating because I feel that people like him are deserving of having a successful business. His employees should learn from him. I cannot believe what just went down at this place. The man at the window was extremely rude and impatient. Said I’d have to wait 15-20 for tea. They took 10 minutes at the widow so I ordered the tea. I waited a total of 30 minutes. The man was so ugly when asking for a refund. I finally spoke up and gave him the same energy back. He yelled “whatever, whatever!” While waving his hand around like a child and slammed the window. I called and spoke to manager and she said he was overwhelmed and has a lot on his shoulders and that “maybe” that’s why I thought he was being rude. She didn’t seem to care one bit. I told her he wasn’t trying to be rude, he was rude. She agreed but kept sticking up for him. Also, trying to put blame on me for reacting to his actions. She eventually said, “what do you want me to do? I’m not the boss, I can’t fire him” and “that’s the way he talks, I don’t know what to tell you”. I tried explaining that she had his back and didn’t even try to see my point of view and she said “I said I’ll talk to him! Have a nice day!” and hung up on me as I was still talking her. I tried calling back to get her boss’ number but they never answered. I’m in awe of this interaction. I can see why they aren’t as busy anymore. They are both so unprofessional and lack basic common courtesy. If I was the owner I’d get rid of these incompetent employees.

You guys are absolutely horrible. Can't you ever get the orders right especially thru Door Dash? Always something wrong or missing. Tonight our dasher wanted our order verified and was told you couldn't, yet you called her to go back because you gave her the wrong order. That not only costs the dasher money but us also since we compensate her for your screw up. If you don't want to do your job properly close your business down.

Egg drop soup was the main thing I needed to get for my upset stomach and when I ordered at 9:19pm They didn't mention the fact that they stop serving Egg drop soup at 9pm. Didn't say a single thing about it. It was when we got home we realized they hadn't charged us for it on their little receipt they put in the bag. Like that's messed up and totally rude.

Fast service, good food, and friendly staff. Great to see such a happy crew whipping up delicious food. Get the combo, youll thank yourself later.

I ordered 2 entrees a few days ago and they were very delicious and fresh. The cashier was pleasant, a repeat customer.

Food was good! Had the Thursday special.. Peppered steak/lemon chicken, rice and soup, they give you big portions!! Lemon chicken was a bit over cooked for my liking but other than that it was good!! Also had the chicken dumpling, that was yummy.

Food was incorrect and burnt, manager was unfriendly and in helpful, left on hold for 10 minutes had to call back from another phone for head Bosses name and no one knows when he will be in.

I ordered my food through the drive thru a little after 7pm so there was still a couple hours before closing. I ordered 2 combo lomein and som rice. Came out to $37 and some change and that was without drinks. I look at my food and it’s 95% noodles. There was hardly any meat at all and the noodles were dry like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day and we just got the scraps. I’ve had better cafeteria food when I was in high school.

I ordered the General Tao's Chicken ( sorry if that is misspelled). The food was pretty good for being fast food. I wish I would have been asked steamed or friend rice. I would have picked steamed, but fried was good. Lots of food for a good price. I was unable to finish all of my food, which is the case most of the time with Chinese food. Great unsweet tea!

I think the reviews for this place are harsh, It's good, cheap food. Nothing more than that. I got Egg drop soup and fried rice for $7 and that's a steal in this economy. Service was okay this isn't a place you come for amazing service. All in all, come for a meal then leave, don't expect an experience. 10/10.

The food here is OK. It's standard Chinese food. I would have liked more flavor in the fried rice. I typically never have to add salt or soy sauce, but I ended up having to add both. The service is OK as you order from the front, and wait for them to call out your order. The restaurant is somewhat small as one area seem to be used as a working area. Not too sure about trying this one again.

Great portion sizes. Food was still hot after delivery. Gave us plenty of soy sauce packets.The only thing was missing was the chopsticks. But I guess a fork will do.

Very good food and hot customer service is good and fast close to home and good prices I like the Mongolian beef and my my wife likes her vegetable chicken thanks Jorge

We frequent this location about 4/5 times a month. While they've been so good in the past was very disappointed this week. One of my faves is combination fried rice with no pork. While their portions are good the fried rice was very dry, chicken n rice both were dry. Husband had the seafood light quite good in white sauce. Need more seafood less veggies. Portion is large hut mostly vegetables. The shrimp in the rice was very scanty whereas before they used to pack in on. Also disappointed they also now charge 3%fee for credit card transactions. Oh my..

4/28/2024 Picked up two ordered. My order was Kung Pao Chicken. I eagerly dug into first bite and knew from smell and taste of a combination action of over-kept chicken or almost spoiled chicken. So disappointed because i am visiting from Seattle and I convinced my Corpus family to forgo their Chinese mainstay for Hunan Express. I did telephone Hunan Express to convey my experience and the person who answered responded, 'Okay.' Obviously, I will not return.

Bad Customer Service & Shystie with anything like sauce or chopsticks Price always seems to go up every time I would buy to the point I just stopped going do not recommend there's only places that will be grateful for your service & get moneys worth!!!

Great food, one of the original Chinese places here in corpus for me. Great combination Fried rice. As well other dishes

We went to get some lunch today,.. lemon chicken, fried rice and egg drop soup. The lunch was not good,.. rough tasting chicken, and the soup was medium warm, also the lemon sauce was sour. My mom had the sweet and sour chicken. This location is not good, stick to the one on Airline and Williams.

The egg rolls are delicious at the everhart location - the moo goo gai pan could use more gravy and smaller size veggies or veggies not so bulky - so u want hold the green peppers and extra saucy

This used to be the best place for Chinese food. Food is good. Good cooks. The quantity has really gone down. They Nickle and dime you for everything the prices have gone up. All sauces are sold separately. I ordered large dinner portion for human delight asked for 1/2 entree hunan delight 1/2 seafood delight. Extra upcharge same portion but extra charge. The rice that comes with this large portion is ridiculous. I asked for extra rice, extra charge of $3.00. The egg drop soup for dinner is tiny small. Could finish it in two slurps. Really , totally ridiculous. Won't be back here anytime soon.

I won't be back prices have gone up and food has gone down. Generals chicken tasted old and small amount of fryed rice. Use to be good there but not anymore.

I ordered lomein and it was very bland. I don't know what happened to their food but it has declined in flavor recently

Manager is very unprofessional...yelling and arguing after we explained the Order was wrong .... I Made a comment that she should not be so rude and should not be yelling at customers because customers are the ones who keep it in business. The manager said "I do NOT care" ...Mind you I was talking very nicely to manager explaining the mistake. Coworker even corrected manger when manager said she never said "#20" when in-fact the coworker and myself heard her say "#20" I also repeated "yes the number 20 sweet and sour chicken" ....very disappointed in customer service especially from manager..... NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!

Menu says 32 once soup for whatever the price was. I ordered two of them, pulled up to the window paid, waited and got two 16 ounce soups. I called the guy back to the window and told him I'd ordered 32oz soups and there were smaller. I was meet with a wonderful attitude and the response "that size was only for drinks". I said "no sir it says 32oz on the drive thru menu", he tells me "nooo...... it's naawwwt, and if you want more you could order two more." He tells me they've never served 32oz soup sizes, I've been going to this hunan for over 10 years and always get the 32oz soup because it's a great bargain in my opinion. He was infuriating me with the way he was talking to me so I told him "don't talk to me like I'm an a**hole" and his response was "well you're doing the same thing to me!" Then he called another guy over to verify that they've never sold that size. I realize we're talking about maybe $2 but I'm just so furious at the way he was talking to me like I was an idiot child that couldn't grasp the difference between 32 and 16 ounces. I'm not even going to say that I won't go back to Hunan I'm just saying this was a horrible experience and I think it's going to be the new norm heading into the future.

As many vehicles and the amount of customers calling in they know what they're doing. Excellent food and service! Keep up the great work!!

Tastes like they use old frozen meat. Not pleasant. I couldn't finish my plate last time I went. Very disappointing.

Pork fried rice is awesome, big chunks of pork. I was impressed. My husband's general tsos chicken was great, a big portion as well. However the fried won tons were over cooked and were hard to chew, and the egg drop soup was flavorless and mediocre at best. I'll probably return for the pork fried rice alone.

We were in Corpus on vacation about 15 miles away from the restaurant. We ordered sweet & sour chicken, lomein & soup. They forgot the soup and the sweet & sour sauce. When I called and explained the situation, I was told that they had put the sauce in the bag, but if we wanted to, we could go back to the restaurant and they would give us an "extra container" of sauce. I then requested that they make fresh chicken since they forgot the sauce and the food would be ice cold since we picked it up 30 minutes prior. They said they would make a fresh meal, but we would have to pay for it. They also forgot the soup but claimed we never ordered it. Will NEVER return to this place again. Pretty sad when a restaurant makes the customer pay when they were the ones that made the error. Food went in the trash.

Everhart location customer service is bad. If you have to have hunan go to the airline location or better yet find a new restaurant like I did.

If you're looking for good, hot, fast Chinese Food then Hunan Express (at any of the 3 locations in Corpus Christi) is a good stop. They have daily specials, but I always order off the menu so it's made fresh (and only takes a few minutes). The Flour Bluff location has a buffet that works pretty well. It's not as "grandiose" as some of the other MEGAbuffets in town, but it works for a quick lunch when you've only got 30 minutes to spare. One thing's for sure, you can't beat the prices. Lunch specials run around $5-6 and dinner specials are about a dollar more, but you get a LOT of food for the money. Yeah, it's not a "Fusion Bistro" and they don't have a Hibachi grill or a Sushi bar, but they do have good food that won't tap your wallet as bad either.

You can never lose going to Hunan Express combination fried rice and some egg drop soup

Really disappointed in the quality of the food today shrimp with egg noodles was not good. Looked like reheated noodles and a few shrimps thrown in. Fried rice had clumps of old rice mixed in .... Shrimp Egg rolls were not crispy Not the quality you would expect after over a 30 minute wait in drive thru

DoorDashed an order from here last night and found this in my mushroom chicken. Called the restaurant, told them about it and all they told me was "take it up with DoorDash" .... totally washing their hands of any accountability. We will most definitely not be returning to Hunan Express.

Horrible!!!! Called in a order and just wanted to pick it up !!! But they are tryin to mandate mask policy when in cc it's not mandated period we drive all the way from Calallen just to get food from them and they want to treat customers like crap... we been coming to this location for over 20+yrs we have been repeat customers who will prob not go back !!

I tell you I have been looking and looking for someone who would make the original stir fry vegetable with tase and I finally found it even their spring rolls they're not small they're big very tasty, everything so tasty and not dry, even after you take it home and it's cold when you eat it then or either later or what not it is so tasty the egg drop soup is so delicious and they serve a big portion of everything I couldn't say more ,but this is why I give it a five-star.Thanks For the great serves also.

Well, well, well....the food is simply the best. Every time we're in town we try to stop by the drive thru to get broccoli and beef to go. Best part is after arriving home (20 mins later) the food is still steamy hot. I love how the plates are served in LARGE portions. The Crabmeat Rangoon is another must try. My mouth is watering writing this review. I'm even more satisfied after the new Parking lot renovations. Keep up the great work!!!!!

I ordered from here all the time. It is cheap Chinese but I think that's the best. I always get combo fried rice and crab Rangoon sometimes I get the egg drop. The only fall back to this place for delivery is last time it took 1.5 hours to get. I had to call to make use my order was coming, so don't be in any hurry. I live only 3 1/2 miles from here so it shouldn't take that long.

If you're going to Hunan make sure you avoid the Everhart location, we always loved Hunan but recently (in the past year) the everhart location has gone down hill. When you call to talk to the manager he just blows you off.

I always come to this restaurant and order quite a bit of food. Today was no different. I ordered four entrées. I ordered entrées to take to my elderly parents for lunch. I ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken, which is my favorite. The sweet-and-sour chicken was really dry, pretty much inedible. It was very stale. Not crunchy at all. It tasted like it had been under the weather for quite a while, and not fresh. Again, the chicken was dried out. When I called the restaurant, all they offered was to talk to the Cook about making it better. They didn't offer to compensate me at all. Keep in mind, I'm taking lunch to my elderly parents who are not able to go anywhere to eat, and I couldn't take it back at that moment. Also, I had to eat something, and ate a little bit of the food and disposed the rest. Luckily, I had bought an extra entrée for dinner later that night, and was able to eat that entrée.This is definitely a big customer service fail on this restaurants part, especially to a loyal, or should I say once loyal customer. A customer who spends quite a bit of money at the same time every time I visit this location.

I ordered from Hunan Express I meant to put delivery but realized later I put curbside. So my food was cold but that's my fault. The food was great!

Terrible customer service, $25 minimum for delivery, charges me for an extra meal, won't be ordering from here again

Wish I could give them a zero rating. Chharges my mothers credit card twice and can't get the manager to call me to discuss! Very irresponsible!

This by far is the best and most professional chineese food restaurant I have been too! Employees are courteous and have very good customer service. Food is delicious and not over cooked , BATHROOMS ARE CLEAN, and it is a very soothing atmosphere. Recommended the restaurant to all my friends and family!

If you want cheep yummy "Chinese" food this is the place to order from. We always get the Mongolian beef, crab Rangoon, rice and noodles, and two cokes. Comes out to about $20 and can serve about 4 people. When I am feeling lazy and want some tasty goodness this is my go to. I have had problems with getting bad food from one of the locations. but its been along time since that has happened. anyways if your a poor collage student than this is your wet dream. enjoy!

Excellent Chinese food. It's all hot, fresh and delicious. The delivery was fast and prices are reasonable.

Went to get some egg drop soup and a combination fried rice it always tastes very good and takes not too long to get the order good job guys

Food was served quickly after I ordered, but maybe too much so. Not all of the meat was done cooking. The noodles and rice were bland. The water from their soda fountain had a weird, metallic taste. One sip and I was done. The place smelled strongly of chemical cleaners. I would not go back.

Went the one on Williams and Airline. Ordered to go. Asked for fried rice and they gave me a white rice. They skimped on all the ingredients. Asked for the veggies to be well done they were raw. Called the manager on duty and she offered me a whole $2.50 discount.

I definitely do not recommend this restaurant at all. First of all, the floors and the kitchen look like they haven't been cleaned. We went to order and the girl was not very helpful. Once we sat down and got our food, they didn't give up our egg drop soup nor one of our egg rolls. When we notified them they did not give us the soul, they made us wait a few minutes then finally said "your soup is ready" no apology or anything. Overall it was a bad experience and I definitely will not be back.

Crap service! Poor driver not her fault at all! Stuff missing and I call to inform them and they act oh ok and...? How rude and ridiculous! Oh ok so eat your seeet and sour chicken with No sweet and sour sauce btw thanks NEVER ordering here again how pathetic your customer service is!!!

Very good food! And the portions per plate are great, especially to-go. This is very much a "bang for your $buck$" kind of place. The Orange chicken is delicious! They give a very generous portion of rice as a side to your entrée. The food is always warm. Good food at a great price.

After a very long day if house hunting come back to our hotel they recommend hunan express as we were to tired to go out. It has now been 2 hours manager giving me excuses doesn't really seem to care fine hotel won't recommend them again either

Eaten here twice before, first time was bomb.com second time was absolutely awful. They seem to be inconsistent, guess it depends on who's cooking

The service is great!! Food is serve in large portion so my husband and I share. With your order you get soup, but we don't like it, so they keep it. The owner told us if the purchaser doesn't take the soup they give it to the homeless. That's awesome of them!
