Can’t stop coming here we enjoy it so much, it’s Sunday afternoon with a small crowd. Decided here instead of a pizza joint. I tried a different plate , but Shrimp n lobster sauce is my favorite. You can’t go wrong here, it’s very enjoyable and the foods great. 13 min for food on table. Try it, you decide! David

Google
Our server was amazing, very nice and helped us navigate the menu. The food was pretty average Chinese food, but still pretty good. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. The restaurant had clean tables and restrooms. Overall a solid place to get food

Google
The service was good, the food not so good. We had the lunch special lo main and moo goo gai pan. The Wong tong soup was good. The noodles were old. Both dishes were substandard in taste. The egg rolls were fried to a burn. We ask to replace and we got the same. Old oil. Not recommend.

Google
We ordered the sesame and general taos chicken. They were both fresh made. Tastes amazing in flavor. The chicken was not dry, which I was happy about. We had a choice of white or fried rice, we both got the fried rice. I was disappointed because the rice tasted old, the peas gave it away in color as if it was just sitting there to be reheated. There were no eggs as they said there would be in rice, rice was kind of dry too. We had crab Rangoon and I was surprised it was full of imitation crab, most places just fill it more with cream cheese so I enjoyed that appetizer. The egg rolls were not good to me, and I am not sure what was all in it but I had a couple shards of bone in mine. Won't be getting that again. The server was attentive and would check on us so that was nice. The place was very clean, relaxing and great atmosphere. I would recommend this place despite a few discrepancies. The price works for the serving size given..

Google
a dimly lit cozy place with this visually pleasing bamboo design on the wall. The service was excellent. The food was average. it was okay. better than panda express, but not better than Red Lantern. I have to say, I had a veggie eggroll and I did really enjoy the crispy thin fried outside of the roll and the savory sautéed veggies inside. To be fair, I ordered sweet and sour pork so maybe I just need to try again with a more complicated dish. What I did try didn't impress me though.

Google
Definitely satisfied my Chinese cravings thanks to the sweet and sour dishes! But expect a bit of an American twist to the menu. Delicious though and will not disappoint! Quite cheap if I may say so myself. The lunch portion hives you an option between fried or steamed rice, includes an egg roll, your main meal, and a choice from egg drop soup/ sweet n sour/ wonton. Highly recommend! Service is good as well.

Google
Amazing food, and service. Probably the best Chinese food in El Paso. I live on the east side and I travel towards west to eat at this place because everything is fresh and the prices are great. Definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in El Paso.

Google
Never going back. Meat portions are child sized, which I'm sure is fantastic for those who intend on eating mostly vegetables. The server told my husband his would take longer to grill. Nothing was hot or warm, felt refrigerator fresh. There were 3 parties at the time.

Yelp
I have tried several Chinese restaurants and all of them have been so so until I tried this place. This restaurant is close to UTEP and located on Mesa. So I never tried the place until recently. The food was fantastic. From the appetizers to main dishes to the sauces, the food was very good. The hot mustard will clear your sinuses so be careful. Then service was also top notch. The servers were very attentive and did a fantastic job. This will be one Chinese restaurant that I will try again and again.

Yelp
Last week, my wife and I saw a TV commercial for the Hunan Palace on Mesa Street. Never been there before, today we decided to try it for lunch since we were on that side of town. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted very friendly and sat in our booth. We both saw how clean the restaurant was and immediately, we were brought menus and our drink orders taken. Dolores, our server was very friendly and helpful since I had questions about the menu items. I am a huge fan of Hot and Sour soup and my wife loves Wonton Soup, which MANY Chinese restaurants don't offer. Edgar, another server there, came by as well to see if we needed anything else a few times. Let me say- we found a new favorite Chinese food restaurant, even if it's on the other side of town. The food, service, and very reasonable prices won us over! By the way, I ordered a second cup of Hot and Sour soup- it was THAT good! I highly recommend Hunan Palace (Mesa near Sun Bowl Drive).

Yelp
We came here anticipating a good meal however we were very disappointed for the cooks have a very heavy hand with the salt. I ordered the Hunan shrimp was a sauce on the side that God because of their put that sauce on it I would have been able to eat anything. I had eaten a whole quantitatyp of salt I would have gone into congestive heart failure. The hot and sour soup with salty and all assesses were extremely. With my sweetie.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food! Definitely the best Chinese food I've had in El Paso !

Yelp
First meal I ever had with out a protein. No tofu no egg nothing! I ordered vegetarian low mein, a noodle dish. There should have been some sort of protein included but there was none.

Yelp
Great Chinese menu and meal. The full meal deal at ~$20 includes soup and a Pupu platter with wings, ribs, egg roll and more... all delicious. And great service to top it off. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Food was good and we enjoyed it. The service at the beginning was a touch sketchy, but I suspect we somehow made the waitress nervous. The ambiance was fine, but we arrived fairly early so we had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves.

Yelp
Ok really like this place. In a small strip mall just down from LUBY'S on Mesa tucked between a Dayvos Clamatos and a Pho place. Some of the best fried rice I've ever had... you can taste the wok in it, meaning it has that slight hot Pan char taste? And the eggs in it are singed a little cuz it's so hot? Yea ... that! Had the Moo Goo lunch special today ... was piping hot ... steamy when served ... very flavorful. Plenty of chicken and veggies. The egg drop soup was very good ... had some little pieces of tomato in it ... had a slight glisten of oil or butter melted floating on top? It was perfect with a shake or two of pepper and a few crushed wonton strips added in. Their tea is always on point ... a golden Amber color ... So it's not dark or bitter ...always refreshing with fresh lemon wedge. I added the chicken and shrimp crispy spring rolls today. They were definitely crisp and fresh from the grease HOT! But I was searching for chicken and shrimp inside them ... but they were LOADED with minced ...and I mean MINCED carrot and shredded cabbage. Carrot was over-powering. Killed any other flavor That may have been inside there... but points for freshness and crispiness. But the star of that plate was actually the quick pickled veggies they served them with! Pepper strips, carrot & Onion in a vinegar sweet pickle brine. Sooooo good! Crisp and tangy. Polished ALL of that off! They have lunch specials that ranged from $7.25 to About $8.95 that comes with soup and egg roll and rice choice. And regular menu choices all the time... typical Chinese Food Faire. I've had several dishes in the past and even a Puu Puu platter to share, I've never been disappointed here ... a few asides... I was surprised how GOOD the appetiser Shrimp Toast is! And their appetiser Asian Pork Ribs, while $11.00, you get like 6 and they are very plentiful and delicious! There may only be 1-2 people waiting tables so be patient ... it seems the pandemic and free unemployment money for two years may have affected them as far as getting help, but be patient, they are super friendly and it's worth the short wait for fresh delicious food!

Yelp
I came to Hunan Palace, asked to order to-go. I ordered the Vegetable Rice Noodle, under the vegetarian selection, (picture included) Anyhow I was going to order an additional soup, because the platter comes with rice. I asked to make sure, and the server told me it does not, that everything under the vegetarian section comes with rice, except the platter I was ordering. I informed him the menu said "ALL ENTREE'S", and he said yes but not that one. I asked why and he said because it's a noodle. I informed him the menu said otherwise. He was a little crass, and kept saying no. So reluctantly I said "I guess let me have a side of rice". The male server could care less because it's not his money. He then looked at the menu to verify that it said all entree's, and blew it off. It's not the fact that the platter was $8.95 plus tax, but that I had to pay an additional amount for something the menu stated comes with the platter. How much is it going to cost them to add the rice VS loosing a customer forever. I worked in the restaurant industry for many years in many cities, and if there's one thing you honor it's your prices within reason, and your menu. Especially when similar items for the same price, under the same category come with rice. I'm not asking for gold plated truffles here, just basic fried rice. Moreover; reasonable customer satisfaction is everything! Especially for a side of rice, that the menu says comes with the platter. I've been coming here for about 2 years now, needless to say my will not be returning. A simple side of rice cost them a returning customer.

Yelp
They do not even care people are waiting at their tables for even a menu to look at the available cuisine... I sat there for way longer than I should have, with no one even caring I was waiting for service being completely ignored. Poorly managed, and poorly organized.

Yelp
Went there as I have passed by this place and been curious about it. Also, their ads on TV looked interesting. We got the dinner with soup, egg roll and main course and two kinds of rice. I would say it was good and reasonable . The service was good for such a small place , only two servers . I would go back again; my only complaint was that CNN was on the big screen TV . Put sports ( the basketball games now) on the TV and not something controversial. I wish this place future success.

Yelp
This place is a "No". Asked for dish w/ grilled veggies and chicken w/ sweet heat base. Waitress said, the cook would put a flavorful dish together. OMW, it tasted liked dish washing detergent smells. Two stars for friendly, attentive ToGo service.

Yelp
I am stuck in good ol' El Paso during the COV-19 quarantine I have been living on the road mainly out of SF, SD, and Denver where the asian cuisines are top notch. I wasn't holding my breath but to my surprise this place is a hidden gem for the 915!!! We ordered the dumplings, sweet & sour chicken, Human beef, crab wontons, the shrimp lo mein, and tofu dishes all were delicious. Def recommend this local spot! All their sauces were traditional & flavorful they delivered on time and the fried dishes did not come soggy. Extra star if I could!

Yelp
Very good food. Very nice people Chicken almond my favorite and the vegetables soup. I recomend all delicious plates.

Yelp
Wow this place is surprisingly good! I've driven by sooo many times and just figured there's no way El paso's Chinese can be any good. Although nearly completely empty at prime time on a Friday night (fueling my friend's suspicion that this might be some type of front), I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the restaurant itself. We ordered crab rangoons (giant and delicious) and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers and split General Tao's chicken. The food came out fast and hot. The dumplings were plump and filling (although I thought they were a little bland so I had to go heavy on soy). The General Tao's plate was fantastic. The meat perfectly crispy while still tender. Definitely best I've had in a while. The service was solid but seriously there was only one other table of people present so not exactly a high standard. Looked like a family operation as the "bartender" was the waiter and host. One negative is they don't serve any alcohol but hey if you want cocktails just walk over to Tradecraft next door. Hunan palace was impressively good. The restaurant itself was clean and working hard to give that Chinese visual aesthetic. With one (totally awesome) exception. They were playing hard rap for music. Not the generic oriental music one hears at most Chinese place. I honestly thought it was kinda badass.

Yelp
You can sit wherever you want when you walk in, I kinda stood around for a bit till I was informed. Really big, bright place. Definitely nice for a date. If you have small children the women's restroom does have a changing table inside, not the gentleman's though. Food comes in big portions. I recommend for two people the casual dinner. Rice, egg rolls, and two entrees for $11.99 per person. Drinks are extra. I had the Yu Hsiang pork, even though it has a pepper next to the name meaning it is spicy I did not think it was spicy at all. You can ask for mango iced too or raspberry, they have different varieties.

Yelp
We found a staple in our broccoli and beef. I guess that's just the norm for El Paso, there was another place we tried two years ago and they had a staple in their food. Never ordering from here again.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Hunana Palace has very delicious meals and a wide variety of options! I ordered the General Tso Chicken and Udon Noodles (veggie) and Cashew Chicken but the cashew chicken could've had some more flavor. Delivery was free and fast. Will be ordering from here soon!

Yelp
I can't say much about this place since I've tried calling in the morning on weekends (after they open at 11) and on multiple occasions no one has bothered answering their phone. This last Saturday I tried calling 12 times and at some point you could tell that the phone went from being forwarded to a Verizon cell phone to probably ringing in the restaurant but no one ever answered. I've had other places actually call me back when they are running late and they see that they missed calls after they were supposed to open but apparently this place doesn't care. I may give them another shot but it's not like they are the only Chinese restaurant and I like being able to rely on a business' hours of operation so that I can plan ahead for my occasional take out order.

David S.

Yelp
Professional , very attentive staff, not just our waiter. Food was super fresh and hot!! Portion size was great also! Don't miss out !

Ric S.

Yelp
Had the General Tao's and the Szechuan Shrimp. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Great fried rice and egg rolls.

Martin L.

Yelp
First time there today, ordered to go lunch special sat and waited 30min, wasn't until I stood up the waitress went to the back to get the food. Orange chicken was not good Not worth the wait.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
I ordered the Mongolian beef to go. When ordering, I asked what vegetables were in the Mongolian beef, the lady said onions and broccoli. As I was eating, there were also a few mushrooms, WHICH I HATE. I think the food would have been more enjoyable had I known to ask for no mushrooms. It was good, but really irritated me as I was eating. It'll go back but with more caution when ordering.

Irene G.

Yelp
I came to this place a year ago, it was good. Moved to El Paso and decided to come back. It was way below average. Fried rice was clearly old, coconut shrimp I ordered was barely breaded and not flavorful, and partners lo mein was fettuccine noodles that lacked seasoning. Over all, not sure what happened but not very good.
google avatar

Chuck B.

Yelp
The food was good and delivered still hot. We had the Teriaki chicken upgraded with noodles instead of rice. The egg roll was also very tasty. We will be back.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Very good! Portions are great. Faves here are the sesame chicken and shrimp lo mein. Can get kinda busy as I went on Friday night. Other than that great service, friendly staff.

Yelp
Tried this place for lunch. Didn't have usual work clan with me or family so this was solo dining. I tried the hot and sour soup. Mixed with crunchies and chili oil, this soup was delicious. I then had an pork fried rice. This too was good. The vegetables were crisp and the rice was cooked just right. I wanted to order more but I didn't have time nor the room and left overs were not an option. This place is definitely added to the list of "usual" lunch places.
google avatar

Breaking Bad C.

Yelp
The food was great, delivery was faster than the time they gave and came hot. I recommend this place. When I have more time down the road I'll dine in.
google avatar

Diego G.

Yelp
Probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in El Paso. Definitely has that Americanized style to it's food but it's so well done. Would recommend this place for dine-in, take out, or even their delivery all three are going to be a delicious meal. The staff is always nice and friendly. This is a place where you can take your family to enjoy a evening out.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
Hunan Palace was great! I am vegetarian and they were so great to make sure that my food was actually vegetarian! It was so delicious, it's hard to find a place to take the time to do so well and auto your needs. Must try! Convenient location as well!
google avatar

David V.

Yelp
Based on my initial impression, Hunan Palace is a solid, decent lunch option. I ordered the Cashew Chicken off the lunch menu and you get a great deal for the price. The egg drop soup was good, the fried rice was decent (my preference is for more flavor for fried rice), and the cashew chicken was tasty.
google avatar

Allan I.

Yelp
We stoped here on our way out of El Paso and it was such a yummy place. I wasn't expecting much but it was great food, we had the hot and sour soup and the chicken spring rolls. Also had the lemon duck and the sweet and sour chicken and the breading was light and crispy.

Mari H.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place , the low main with beef was AMAZING. Definitely recommend !

Chan Joun P.

Yelp
Amazing food and the people over there. If you guys looking for the Chinese food in the west side near UTEP, I highly recommend this place. Taste so good with reasonable price. My favorite menus are General tao chicken, Yu hsiang shrimp and Hunan beef :) Open your day with health and delicious food!
google avatar

Katy M.

Yelp
Over cooked duck with way too much sauce, why is Chinese food in El Paso so icky sweet? Way too much sugar in the sauce. Could hardly taste the duck because of the heavy sweet sauce.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
Best Chinese in El Paso hands down. If you don't want to go to a corporate chain then go here. Everything is cooked to order. It make take a little longer to get it cooked but it's totally worth the wait. This is our new go to place

Rosa S.

Yelp
Food was really good. Came in with a group of ten. Service was quick. Hilda was our waitress and she was amazing. I recommend this place. Some of the best Chinese food I've had.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. I got the dinner portion and it was huge! I've been looking for a good Chinese place in town and finally I've found it! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for quality Chinese food. It's infinitely better than Peking down the road.
google avatar

Aurolyn L.

Yelp
I am generally not a fan of Chinese food but my husband is and this is his favorite Chinese restaurant in El Paso. I was very pleasantly surprised, and wondered if maybe my dislike for Chinese food was just because I never had it properly prepared! I got the tofu vegetable curry; tofu was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, not at all greasy. Vegetables were flavorful and not overcooked. My husband got Kung Pao shrimp, which was also top notch, and the fried rice was light and not greasy. We shared an order of spring rolls, crisp and piping hot, stuffed with fresh-tasting cabbage, carrots, and shredded chicken. The sauces were flavorful without being overwhelming. The service was wonderful, very friendly and attentive; the server offered to bring us more rice for free if we wanted. The presentation was lovely -- nicer dishes than I expected for such a reasonably-priced place. Nice quiet atmosphere because it was almost empty on a Wed. night, cool music playing but not too loud. I'll be back!

Yelp
It smelt like cleaner and vomit upon entering. The interior is nice and colorful and the design is unique to the Chinese culture. I ordered the egg drop soup to start. The egg drop soup had tomatoes in it which was strange. I'm not a fan of tomatoes so I simply picked them out. The annoying part was the tomato seeds still floating about. The soup tasted fine, nothing special. My second appetizer (fried dumplings) came out. They looked okay but did not look like typical fried dumplings. These had more of a homemade look and were different in sizes. Needless to say that these were not crispy and the dough was overly thick. The meat inside was very bland and the sauce did not help the taste. As the main entree, I ordered the almond chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was average in taste but the carrot inside was still raw and had a crunch. I am a fan of raw vegetables but I don't prefer it in an egg roll. The almond chicken was okay. The chicken had a weird film over it that seamed to be tossed in flour then became soggy from the sauce. The rice sucked. Bland bland bland! I appreciate that everything appeared to be homemade but that shouldn't make anything need to be so under seasoned. The restaurant is cute in appearance but I would not recommend the food. Note to the cook(s) : please taste your food before serving.

antwahn m.

Yelp
It's not bad or great. I had the Hunan Chicken and General Tso. It satisfies your Chinese food craving, but feels like its missing something. I give the entrees a 3 star but since they have good rice and play the sports games on the TV an extra star

Keiley C.

Yelp
Best Chinese Food in El Paso. Quick Review: Nicest restaurant in the city, good food, full bar, great staff, clean facility, great prices, and they are very welcoming of military members and their families, offering them a discount. Details: Staff is very friendly and attentive. They will serve you right up until closing (If you don't mind them cleaning up in the background at the same time after their closing time). The entire restaurant is very classy, very clean and everything looks new (You might assume its a very expensive restaurant by its looks, but is actually very affordable). They are willing to alter orders to your wishes. For example: I wanted to order the BBQ Pork appetizer for an entree and asked them if there was a way to size it up, they said they could price it according to size, so I could order $10 worth of BBQ Pork when a normal order is $6.95, and boy did they deliver. They served me a hefty plate of BBQ Pork enough to fully fill me up and still have enough to share with my husband. Their regular portions are plentiful as well. This was the only Chinese food restaurant I have tried in El Paso that wasn't squishy disappointment or Mexican Food in poor disguise (But that's a whole other story). The food is good quality, tastes fresh (Not likes its been sitting around all day waiting for someone to order it). Their water is actually decent (Which is a freaken relief after the godawful toilet water most restaurants here try to serve you). You can pick where you want to sit, they're not picky, and every table is always clean (So no awkward waiting while a waiter hurriedly tries to wipe away sticky horrors from the table that you know will still be there when you sit down, as too many restaurants try to get away with).

Yelp
phone is always busy.put on hold for 10 mins before i hung up tried again like 20 times phone busy

Maya S.

Yelp
Food was ok but the order was screwed up. Besides the wrong rice, no napkins or soy sauce provided. (Delivery) I called the driver immediately, thinking he may not have driven away and he said I had to call the restaurant to ask for them. Clearly not the most important part of the experience but still a bit disappointing.

Alex M.

Yelp
Excellent lunch menu. I enjoyed the hunan chicken, eggroll was crispy, and the hot and sour soup was great. I will come back to this restaurant for other dinner options when I have a chance. i do recommend it to my friends, tasty food, good price, and great service.
