Great American fare! Fast service! Blackened Catfish with the tomato chutney is buttery, rich, so good. Got coleslaw critics: tangy, crisp fresh, well seasoned. Not the overly sweetened sauce breed! Buffalo hot wings, 8, instead of the usual 6, so you don’t end up hungry. A little thick in the breading which gets soggy. But good medium sauce. Chicken Fried Steak was thick, generous gravy, but was good enough, it didn’t need much gravy. The onion rings batter reminds me more of beignet than American fried ball park food. Hmmm? Atmosphere, chill, beachy, fresh. And the bathroom, small sparse and very clean. Very nice tile work. Very original wall tiles, with 3d relief. Prices are perfect for what you get, portions are good, but not overkill. I totally dig this place. Jocelyn did a fantastic job!!!

In a pretty large shopping center so we didn't have any issues with parking. They accommodated our large party with no issues and sat us right away. When I first walked in, it did smell like gas but that did go away as I sat there longer, didn't seem any other issues. I ordered an espresso martini and the Breakfast Tacos with Sausage, eggs, spinach, mushrooms and pepper jack. I asked for the Breakfast Potatoes extra crispy. My husband ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Tacos were good and the breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and crispy like I had asked. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were good but wish it was a little more cinnamon-y. The espresso martini wasn't bad either. Overall, very friendly and quick service but when we had come in the morning, there weren't too many people there.

Visited this spot while traveling through the area and it was pretty good. I enjoyed the breakfast as they do provide that option all day. My spouse had the potatoes, which was a bit bland though but there's plenty of seasoning/condiments on the table. The servings are largely proportioned and the waitress we had was superb. The restaurant has a lakeview with either indoor our outdoor seating. It was a bit too warm for my liking so I dined in near the window to see the lake. Great atmosphere! Will dine again if ever in the area.

Beautiful location on Lake Conroe. We arrived by boat, dined on the patio overlooking the marina and lake. Had a spinach salad with fresh ripe strawberries and feta and added the grilled salmon for $4 or $6 more, I believe. It was HUGE, like a full sized dinner version piece of salmon, cooked to perfection. It was extremely satisfying and delicious. Service was top notch. Definitely will be back!

Wine Night Dinner! Apparently monthly this restaurant has a phenomenal dinner get together... As our first time attending, we did not know what to expect, but we were completely impressed! The service for the event was sensational, and it ended up being a 4 course dinner with 8 wine tastings. (generously poured... lol) We enjoyed exceptional cuisine and all 90 point wines, while getting an education and having a lot of fun! The family style seating encouraged us to meet some neighbors and the dishes served were so thoughtfully paired with each amazing wine. It was a fine dining experience with beautiful plating and outstandingly delicious food. We will absolutely be back for Whiskey Night in May if there is any space for reservations!

Melissa did an amazing job, she was super nice and very knowledgeable.... the food was phenomenal. I had the hash breakfast bowl with a raspberry half sweet tea and my girl had a nutella latte and the traditional breakfast... she said it was amazing and the drink was out of this world.... amazing job Hunger Crush Cafe we will definitely be back!!!

I was in Conroe for the weekend and wanted to get some breakfast before going home. Sunday morning. Pleasantly surprised that there was not a big crowd. My Latte was perfect and avocado toast was delicious. I’ll definitely be back when in the area again.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant, which is flanked on two sides by a total of three other restaurants. For a Saturday night, I was surprised at the low number of diners here. We were the only party in the whole restaurant for a while. That said, the service was great and the food was warm and tasty. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which I must say was very filling. The chicken itself was delicious, and the pasta was delectable as well. This dish also comes with three pieces of garlic bread, a good addition to this large meal. Breakfast is a main feature of this restaurant, and it can be ordered all day. There is a roomy indoor area with a nice atmosphere, but there is also an outdoor patio area (a bit small) with a view of the lake. Something cool about the Hunger Crush Cafe is that they donate to a local food bank after a meal board (a larger, pricier platter for two: about $23.00) is purchased. The prices are very good compared to most restaurants: my Chicken Parmesan was only about $15! Overall this is a good spot for a casual dinner and an opportunity to contribute to food banks whose goal is to crush hunger.

This little cafe is tucked away and you don't want to miss it! I ordered the club sandwich with fries and my companion had the cheeseburger with fries. The club was spectacular and so well orchestrated. Just the perfect amount of everything and on the most wonderful bread. But let me tell you about their FRIES! OMG. I have not had such perfect fries in a long time. Just the right size, they crunch when bitten and so fresh and soft inside. Breakfast/lunch/dinner is all day. There is a wonderful selection of wines as well as a full bar. The staff is wonderful and the esthetic is pleasing. They have indoor/outdoor seating with lake views. Don't sleep on this opportunity for a great meal.

Food is pretty good. Service is hit or miss, it can be SLOW at times. Yes there's a "no outside drinks" sign on the door. Wouldn't let me dine wit my half full cold brew (they never had a problem with it previously). Family and I will not be retuning since the other establishments next door don't have this rigid policy.

Came here for brunch with some friends. The breakfast burrito was delicious! The eggs were nice and fluffy, the bacon thick and crunchy. Service was good and the place was clean.

What a surprise and not a good one. We have eaten there before and thought we would try it again. Service was great! Food not so much. Both the pancakes and waffles required a knife and effort to cut. The potatoes came out cold. They were replaced. Very surprised.

Finally tried Hunger Crush! Went for breakfast... The restaurant has a very crisp/clean look. Nice view of the lake if you sit on the patio... We were seated immediately, not mamy patrons. The Bloody Mary was delicious, good array of veggies. I requested the premuim (Titos). House is Taaka (ew, LoL) The waffle was delectable. Soft & warm with plenty of fresh strawberries, whipped cream & syrup. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall a very pleasant meal/experience. I look forward to returning and trying a few different menu items. I also want to check out one of their "Cars & Coffee". It takes place the 1st Sat if the month!

Found this adorable place on Yelp of course and had to try it out based off pictures posted!!! It's on the lake!! Amazing!! Too hot today to sit outside, but I'm fine with it!! Love the bar area and open concept feel!!! Was greeted by (I'm assuming an owner) with a smile!!! Great way to start your morning. He chose a booth for me and told me my waitress would be by soon! She is so bubbly and friendly!!! Suggested a frozen mimosa bc they are on special right now!! Yes please!!! I asked for suggestions on food since the menu said lunch wasn't served until 10:30. She told me it was fine and I could order whatever I want! So I started with the fried Brussel sprouts!! Devine!!!! The balsamic glaze paired with the fried bacon was perfection!!!!! They came out super fast and hot!!!! Next, breakfast!!! Again, went with my waitress' suggestion and got the eggs Benedict! Came out super fast as well!!!! Went with the potatoes!! Yum!!! Perfect hollandaise with delicious ham and the tomato was a great addition!!! Egg cooked perfectly and runny!!! Yum!!!!!! Overall great experience!!!! Extremely impressed with the food, service, and vibe in this restaurant!!! Will def be back to try out lunch!!!! If you're in the area, STOP!!!!! Enjoy a fresh, hot meal!!!

The salmon was great and service was fantastic! I will definitely go back and check out their breakfast menu one day soon!

What we ordered was dinner menu and it was very good, service friendly and attentive. Sat on the patio to look at the lake. I side is nicely designed and very clean. Too bad that business is slow this time of year.

Second time here and once again exceeded expectations. Wife and I both had three egg omelets that were delicious. Service was great as well as ambiance. Always make it a point to have breakfast here when visiting Conroe.

Very nice owner and excellent staff. They did have some trouble getting our check correct, but we got there. Menu looked nice, but we found that the dishes needed a bit more seasoning. Great location in Lake Conroe.

I have visited once in person and the food and service was great. Next we ordered a to go order and upon arriving home the chicken fried steak was missing the gravy. The food was delicious and could only have been enhanced with the gravy. I was suggest checking the to go order before departing.

The service was very good. We did not have to wait long to be seated, order or served. The atmosphere is very clean and calm. I like the subway tile back splash they have, everything looked very put together. Unfortunately the food was extremely subpar and expensive. Our fried basket appetizer still had pieces of that were icy inside.. the burgers were McDonald's quality and the margarita was a tad expensive for the size, alcohol content and flavor. Overall I'd give it a 2.5 but we'll stick with 3 since yelp doesn't do halfsies. I will come back in several months to see if things have changed/improved.

Hubby and I enjoyed a nice little brunch/lunch here for our first time visiting. Great open, bright ambiance with amble table, booth and outdoor seating. Super clean restrooms and atmosphere. Hub's thoroughly enjoyed his fresh Philly cheesesteak with au ju. He said it's one of the bests he has had...he has had a lot. I was in heaven surprised by the Pesto chicken with super yummy creamy pesto sauce with really delicious and flavorful grilled veggies and cilantro rice. I never eat a whole entree by myself at one setting. This was so tender, juicy and flavorful I devoured it. These grilled veggies were so flavorful and perfectly cooked... not all mushy but yet just right and delectable. Service was "on-point", drinks refilled and we were checked on without feeling pestered. We are already planning our next visit to enjoy more of the menu creations here. Highly recommend

Food is nothing special, just okay. Seems to be another typical Sysco supplied restaurant. Front of house is clean. Owner and manager are engaged with the customers. Overall service is good, but like any restaurant, there is always one or two that need improvement. For my family, we come here when we simple don't want to cook and it's been long enough whereas we forgot it's not as great as we remember.

One of the best places to eat in the area. Our family tried a variety and no one was disappointed. The corned beef hash was excellent. The restaurant and bathrooms were super clean. Try a nutella latte with whipped cream.......it was definitely worth a try. Next time we are near Lake Conroe we will definitely stop here.

We were in town for the weekend and this spot was 3 minutes away from our hotel. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! If we're ever back in the area we will definitely be back!

Excellent Food! The service is super great and very attentive! This place is clean super fun! The owners have definitely done t right! My wife and I love coming for our breakfast dates.

Because I did not leave a great review last time, and because somebody did reach out to me and question my three-star review and because fair is fair, I am back. Sunday evening, but not so hot that I cannot eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. This restaurant shares a courtyard with Montys lighthouse, fajita jacks, and another bar type place coming soon. I was sat down immediately,server came out asked me what I wanted to drink and brought my wine and water pretty much immediately. Already better than last time. However, it was with experienced eyes that I noted there are no customers in the restaurant, which is a shame. I Still think their menu is very limited but I did notice this time that the words soft opening is on the menu. Does that mean they're going to expand the menu? I truly doubt it. I ordered chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. I ordered a dinner with two sides so I would not have any reason to complain about an empty plate. I'm still not trying to leave underserved bad reviews but I cannot figure this place out. The name 'hunger crush' makes me think big portions, kind of like a burger joint. There are burgers on the menu and that's probably what I should have ordered but I didn't. While I waited for my food I went ahead and read all the other reviews for this place so far. There are some good even great reviews, but for the most part I think my first impression is on par with what everyone has said. I was worried about my chicken fried chicken dinner because of another review I read but I have to say in my opinion what I received tonight was a good decent portion size. Maybe a little more veggies would have been good but potatoes and the chicken are fine I don't think I need two chicken breasts or a double scoop of mashed potatoes, but the veggies were a little shy. There is another table outside with me, they were finishing up their meal and seemed pretty much okay with the food but the gentleman did give the server a good couple of tips. First, apparently he had ordered a hurricane apparently the server brought it out in just the aluminum bottle, with no ice. Also it is served unopened. Maybe Montgomery is different but in Houston that's a big no no to serve unopened alcohol. The gentleman suggested next time it gets served with a glass with ice and perhaps open because he had a hard time opening it.. good feedback without sounding like a complainer. As far as my experience tonight, definitely much better, and bonus ! I ordered my wine during happy hour, half price, so that was a solid touch. This place is still questionable, but I have no problem upgrading my review, based on this visit

I'll make this short. Service was great, but food quality was low for the price. I ordered their bonfire burger at $16.95 that was supposed to have grilled jalapeños on it. Instead, it had mostly raw jalapeños on it, the bacon was severely over cooked, & the fries were cold. My wife ordered their meatloaf plate with brown gravy, but the gravy was cold & gelatinous & the side of cilantro rice she chose was super dry & tasteless. Both platters looked like they were crafted with frozen ingredients straight from the back of a grocer supply trucks. Maybe breakfast is better, but supper just wasn't very good overall.

If I owned a restaurant I'd tell customers o was out of lettuce before I put this nasty looking poor quality stuff on their sandwich. It really makes you question the quality of all of the ingredients. Is it all old? Is the cook blind? Why would you send that to a table?

Came in for a late lunch and it wasn't very busy. Much of the staff appeared very bored but our server was lovely. Very attentive and friendly. They have a big menu and our group was split with some ordering off the breakfast menu and others getting lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food. Looking forward to visiting again at different times of day and also taking advantage of the outdoor patio space overlooking the lake.

Excellent food! This isn't just an ordinary cafe. The chef is amazing and the food is spot on. Don't sleep on this. You need to go and enjoy this hidden gem!

3 Stars-Good and friendly service, good food, small portions I wanted so bad to give this place 5 stars but I couldn't and here's why.. When I came I don't know why I was under the impression it was going to be brunch food however, I understand I came later and their brunch ends at 2. That's not a problem. I stayed for a glass of Prosecco and a tomato bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was delicious and based on that I decided to stay for dinner. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, my guy ordered a burger. My chicken fried chicken was delicious-great flavor, Mac and cheese was okay, the potatoes were good. Now let's talk about the portions..I've never seen a chicken breast that small served at a restaurant unless it was a lunch special. I had more Mac and cheese than I had chicken breast. It was rather disappointing. I can understand if it was lunch time but this was for dinner. Even my serving of mashed potatoes were small. I suggest maybe adding two chicken breasts if they were going to be that small-something. I attached the picture. I think this place shines for their breakfast and this place seems good for lunch but I don't recommend coming here for dinner unless you are looking for a smaller portion.

This place was very approachable, clean and the staff was great! Very pleasant and on top of things. The service was great. The food was very good. I will eat here again!

Had breakfast omelet. Really good. Nice location. Sadly no grits or hash browns. Talk to corporate! Jasmyn was the lone worker out front. Great attitude, great smile while waiting tables, bussing tables, cleaning and running the register. All on what was to be her day off!

Today's Review: Meh. Four visits over the last few months and we haven't ever been impressed, nor have we been terribly disappointed. The food is much like the decor - fine, okay, but boring, pastel...immemorable. They haven't captured the ravenous local lunch and dinner market, probably for these reasons. The place is usually almost empty, and the clientele is a pretty even mix of young families and retired folks. There's nothing wrong with this place, but there's nothing great about it either. If you can't get into Monty's, Fajita Jack's, or Akashi, this will do just fine, but you might not remember ever eating here. June 2022 Review: So now we've been two more times, with larger groups, and tried a lot of their apps and entrees, breakfast and lunch. Bottom line...meh. It's not great but it's not bad - if you made this food at home you'd be satisfied but not thrilled. Same thing here at the restaurant. It feels like the kitchen has some very competent cooks but no creative chefs. But, the formula is working - every time we've been in it's been at least half full. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Denny's finally opens up across the street. The two places are almost interchangeable for much of their menus and for their general quality. Based on prior visits to other Denny's, I'd say that's a good approximation for what we have here so it'll be interesting to see who brings in the crowds.

Great customer friendly eatery, decent menu variety, good food and pleasant atmosphere. More of a breakfast or brunch place to me, but I reckon dinner would fine there in a pinch.

Location is fantastic. The wait staff were very helpful and interactive. I had the hunger crush Burger with the cheddar skirt on it. Unfortunately they don't season the meat. This makes for a wonderful Burger but a flavorless patty :(

Where do I start?? First of all, service. Our table ordered waffles and 2 pancakes, and the food took ATLEAST 2 hours to get. We went there at 11 and ended up leaving at 2 or so. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they were busy, But.. the most important part I was noticing was the fact customers were leaving left and right, The kitchen made 2 orders that ended up being wrong, (so they probably threw it away), AND the waiter spilled some of my coffee onto the plate. How do you mess up coffee? Waited just to ask for napkins and spoons. The atmosphere is pretty, the painting on the wall was admiring to look at. Very clean as far as I can tell.

This little gem in Montgomery is the place to come for a great breakfast. The most impressive thing I learned after a great service is that the chef/owner makes everything from scratch. You want a great fresh meal . This place is highly recommend. I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years and I definitely see this location doing something good . 5 stars

No need for a verbal review. The burnt brick meatloaf speaks for itself. The overuse of chives on everything is quite off putting as well.

Firmly put, Hunger crush crushes it. From the burger to the chilaquiles to the pancakes, I don't know how they could master it all. I cannot leave out the coffee of the day "brown butter" which i now think about almost on the daily. The staff was uber friendly and attentive and we were tempted to go back that evening we enjoyed it so much. When I'm back in Lake Conroe there is no doubt I'll be back at Hunger Crush

Just open 3 weeks ago! Nice Ambiance with good quality and pretty good portions dishes and most of all it's delicious ! Good breakfast place in the area but they serves Lunch and Dinner as well. They have an outside setting with the lake view. Outstanding Service with AnnaMarie! Highly Recommended!

Kelsey served us an excellent breakfast at Hunger Crush Cafe. We both ordered the traditional breakfast of 2 eggs cooked our way, bacon and potatoes with a half a waffle. We were happy as our eggs were perfectly cooked; over easy for me and over medium for husband. The half waffle dusted with powdered sugar was yummy, served with butter, syrup & whipped cream. We'll be back!

Me and my family came in to have a nice lunch, we got seated pretty fast but the waiters kept walking by. Didn't stop to greet us, didn't take our drink order. There was four waiters just walking by and didn't even acknowledge us. A Caucasian couple came in behind us, got greeted by their waiter, got drinks right away, order placed and we just sat there for 20 minutes and no one ever came over to the table. On the way out the door we complained about the service and all we was told by this one male hostess was ok have a great day. Doesn't seem like a great place if your not Caucasian.

The food was mediocre. The grilled pastrami was very dry, and whoever sliced it, doesn't know how to slice brisket.The onion rings were burnt beyond recognition. My friend said her breakfast of pancakes was really good. The waitress was very polite; they may get one more chance....maybe.

Finally had the chance to try Hunger Crush this weekend for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious! Loved the vibe and atmosphere inside. The staff was wonderful! Can't wait to come back to try breakfast.

A bright and clean atmosphere, with a decent array of sensible portions that are well plated. Our food, ingredients, and service were good. This is a decent breakfast/lunch cafe worth spending your $$$ if you don't want to do the dishes, and don't want to feel like you could've done better at home. Compared to other establishments in the area, it's definitely a nice addition. I didn't necessarily get the feel to hurry back because it was soooo incredible. But, at least it was worth the time and money, which isn't easy to find these days...

What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! My family and I were looking for a place on Lake Conroe that we could boat to for breakfast and we had the good fortune of finding The Hunger Crush Cafe. The ambiance is very clean and welcoming, perfect for breakfast. We had a large group and there were plenty of seating options. The food was delicious with a variety of choices. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal, the chilaquiles being the favorite. The service was spot on and delightful. We will definitely be back:)

What a nice modern eatery. The food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and the restaurant is modern and clean. My wife ordered the avocado toast and a side order of scrambled egg. Her food came out fast and exactly as ordered. I had the club sandwich and chips and they were delicious. Kudos to the staff and chef. We will come back for the food AND the service!!!

My daughter and I went to the new Hunger Crush Cafe today for lunch. They started their soft opening last week. The food and service were both excellent!! Way to go to our server, Jazmyn!! They serve breakfast while they are open (until 3 for now) but also has lunch/dinner items. We started with fried Brussel Sprouts. Amazing!! She had the Chilaquiles - she let me have a bite and they were awesome!! I had the corned beef hash - it comes with one egg - do yourself a favor and get a second egg. It was yummy. We finished with bread pudding. Didn't get a picture because it didn't stick around long enough! I can't wait to go back and try other items that sounded good. So we ate here for lunch about a month ago. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and it was perfectly decorated for Lake area. The service was amazing and there was only two servers. The food was ok. I was not impressed but I would be willing to give it one more chance. It was not bad food but i could have made the same thing at home.

Don't waste your time here. The service was great, but the food? Average, wife's salad was not fresh. She ordered another dish as well, which had chicken - to say it tasted horrible would be too kind of a review. We were actually hungry and left hungrier than before with a heartburn, thanks to the food.

We had seen this place a couple of times and finally tried it out. The reason for the 3 stars great service, great atmosphere. If they only addressed the food this place could be a good place too eat totally bland in additon to horrible bacon that was served to me was a joke considering it was $3.50 extro for 2 meas and a childs meal it was over $50.00 first and last time we ever eat here.

We've enjoyed breakfast here a few times over the last year or so. Today was a let down. Honestly this was worse than a cheap hotel breakfast. Nothing seemed to be cooked to order. Cold bacon. Cold stale potatoes. Wet scrambled eggs as if they came from a steamer. Bummer to see they aren't keeping quality up.

Shayna and Cameron are amazing!! The food is decent too. Kinda pricey but I know it's the location.
