Seattle Chicken Chain Mt. Joy Wants to Conquer the World, Then Save It | Eater Seattle

"Located in Shelton, Hungry Hollow Farm is run by Grant Jones, who joined Mt. Joy as a co-founder and chief agricultural officer; Jones says the biggest bottleneck for regenerative farmers is demand, and that Mt. Joy’s consistent preordering allowed his farm to produce additional chickens they hadn’t planned on raising." - Harry Cheadle

The quality of the meat and eggs is far superior to anything you can find at the grocery store. I have been coming back for years and have never been disappointed. It's a fun trip out to the farm to collect your purchases and see the livestock roaming the pasture. Delivery is very convenient if you would like to skip the trip. I will definitely be placing my order again in 2026.

We recently purchased a 1/8 share of beef from Hungry Hollow Farm. We cooked a roast for a family gathering and received rave reviews! It was absolutely delicious! Tonight we are going to BBQ hamburgers which I anticipate will be also be excellent. I highly recommend purchasing beef from this farm when it becomes available to preorder. I know we will! Hungry Hollow Farm offers the absolute best chicken, beef, pork, eggs, honey, vegetables, even salmon and bread. We especially love their pasture-raised chicken and have been buying it for the last 3–4 years. The chicken bone broth we make from it is the most flavorful broth you will ever taste. Last year we bought 50 chickens and barely made it through the winter, so this year we upped it to 60. That is how much we love their chicken! We have honestly become chicken snobs, and we completely blame our amazing farmers Grant and Lindsay for that! We have also bought their beef and pork shares, and everything is top quality. We now have 4 freezers in the house just to make sure all of our meat comes from them. We are so grateful for Hungry Hollow Farm for raising our food!

I have purchased free range, organic chickens from Hungry Hollow Farm for over 3 years. Purchase and pick up has been super simple every time. We really like that Farmer Grant is partnering with other small businesses in the area. Picking up fresh bread and cookies when we pick up chicken is an added treat. The chicken has always been well packaged and frozen solid when we pick it up. It is delicious and lean when we eat it. I would recommend purchasing from Farmer Grant, he clearly takes pride in all he does and offers.

The 1st year, we bought a pork share. The 2nd year, pork and beef shares, plus tried their whole chicken. Now we wouldn't buy our pork, beef, whole chickens and Thanksgiving turkey anywhere else! The care taken in the way the animals are raised and fed makes the taste and texture of the meat far superior to anything you'll find in a store. Local and sustainable meats that can't be beat!

Our family (2 adults, 4 elementary aged kids) had a wonderful time touring Hungry Hallow Farm. We learned so much about how the farmers are caring for the animals and the land. Farmer Grant answered all of our questions and our kids loved interacting with the animals. I felt good knowing my kids understand a bit more about where food can come from when we choose to purchase form small farms like this one. At the end of the tour we picked up eggs, beef, bread, and cookies! All of which left us saying “this is so good!!!!” The egg shells are thick and the eggs are so insanely delicious. It’s amazing how different they are from what I buy at the store. We look forward to purchasing more from the farm in the future! Thank you for the tour and thank you for the insightful blog as well!

Just finished my Best of the Northwest Package. Perfect size and variety, and so good! Love that all of the products are locally sourced. You can taste the difference. I couldn't pick a favorite because it is all so yummy!❤️

We get our eggs, pork, turkey, chicken, honey, and random veggies here, and everything we have gotten is delicious! Our quarter pig was some of the best I've ever had, and we are thrilled that they are being raised in a sustainable humane way. There is simply no comparison to mass produced meat and eggs. We are so lucky that we live close to the farm!
