Absolutely amazing food with great service! The portions are huge—two people can easily share one plate. This spot is a true hidden gem, perfect for a meal after the beach. Don’t miss their Wednesday and Thursday lobster roll specials—buy one, get one free! Just a heads-up: no swimsuits allowed, so dress properly. Highly recommend stopping here before or after hitting the beach!

My husband and I stopped in for drinks and appetizers, it was early 2:45 and Brooke was our waitress. The French onion soup and Stuffed Mushrooms were very good. We ordered the Prime Rib and the Seafood Casserole to go as it was early in the day. We had it a couple hours later and it was the absolute best Prime Rib I have ever had! We are retired and travel every month, I've never had a Prime Rib that tender it cut like butter. My husband's Seafood Casserole was excellent, the sides were buttery green beans, spaghetti with marinara and squash again very, very good! Brooke was very attentive, and checked in on us to make sure everything was good and checked if we needed anything a couple times. If your looking for a fancy place this may not be for you, but if your looking for an excellent dinner this is your place! Highly recommend! 🥰

Our server Barbara was awesome! My husband also spoke to the owner, who was a kind man. The food was awesome! We got the special of the day which was double lobster rolls. They were good, and the fries were great. We loved the stuffed mushrooms also. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

The steak is simple yet deliciously full of flavor. I get it with mashed potatoes which are the perfect side dish for an all American meal at the Hungry Traveler. So this place might not look a lot from the outside but they have fixed up the inside with some beachy design and nice comfortable booths. Meals come with a salad bar and soup. It's a great meal all in all and always a local stand by. It's worth the drive from surrounding towns too. My friend always gets the swordfish which is super fresh and again simple and delicious. Service is friendly and fast. I hope one day they do over the bar area to make it a little more updated. Still great food. Very fresh. The soup and salad bar is great. Update 1/17:25: still holding strong and best value for solid food and portions in the area. Chicken piccata baked haddock with salad and soup bar. Not sure how anyone could complain about the price compared to anything nearby!

I really had hopes for this place. I can tell right away that the fresh rolls were delicious! We order fried calamari for an app and it was just ok. My girlfriend ordered a small fried clam plate and I order filet and lobster pie. I asked for my filet to be medium but it came medium well to well done. It had no flavor except the salt and pepper I added and the taste of burnt grill marks. The lobster wasn't fresh and lacked that sweetness we all love from Maine lobster. Even the bread crumbs weren't seasoned that much. The one take away from this place is that every thing we ordered lacked seasoning. It was a let down. Thank god the wait staff was so kind and courteous or I would have given this review 1 star. They did recommend the prime and maybe I should have ordered that. Anytime the wait staff recommends food, listen!

Stopped in on Friday evening. Clams were good but not $45 good. Everything on the salad bar was wilted. Our waitress, an older woman was not friendly at all. She looked and acted miserable. The place looked clean but very outdated. Red flag #1 should have been how dead it was on a Friday night. Red flag #2 should have been the miserable waitress. I also think we were overcharged but the waitress took our receipt and walked off. Wouldn't go here again.

Prime rib & stuffed shrimp was awesome! Generous portions, great service!

Yelp
Awesome food, basic, plain and simple. This is the first restaurant that I've been to, that had calamari that had all of the calamari pieces are tentacles. There were no rings. the rings that you see are actually onion rings. And the chowda is pissa

Yelp
Oh boy, have times changed. This restaurant, once our favorite, is no more. We've been coming here for over 25 years, but new ownership in the past couple of years has driven prices up, reduced portions, and killed the quality. Just look at this image--supposed to be Boneless Grilled Chicken and Baked Shrimp. The grilled chicken is smaller than the cup of mashed potatoes. We arrived on the hour during a not-so-busy evening. We were seated within 5 minutes, but then we sat for 25 minutes before anyone came to us. We received two dinner rolls, and they were hard. The waitress took our drink order, but I was ready to order food too. She left and came back 5 minutes later with our drinks, then left again to take the order of another table that came in after us. Another 5 minutes later, she returned. So, 35 minutes in, and we finally got our order in. It wasn't busy this August 30, 2024 Friday evening at 6pm. The middle room had only 5 tables filled, with another 5 open. The side room with the salad bar had a few tables in use and the rest empty. There was no reason for the slow service. We got the side salad as part of the meal. Not much to choose from--just salad, cucumbers, and some pasta. After eating the salad, we waited and waited. Another 30 minutes passed, and people who came after us were already eating. Three tables that came after us were served and eating a lot of food. Our meals finally came out 40 minutes after we ordered. The grilled chicken was cold, hard, and terrible. The mashed potatoes were cold. The shrimp was decent but there were only four shrimp on the plate. When the waitress came back around 15 minutes later, she asked about our meal. I told her it wasn't good. She just wanted to give me more food. We'd been there over an hour, and I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for an overcooked meal. The chicken was so dry it scratched my esophagus going down. I drank half my cup of water because it was so dry and I thought I'd choke. I didn't eat most of the food because it was cooked wrong. That was a $21.99 meal, and it was honestly the worst meal I've had at this restaurant. The 15% tip was very generous and not what I should have paid since the attention wasn't there tonight. 90 minutes later, we paid the bill and left. Sadly, we will not return. There are plenty of other restaurants around that will be better choices. The owner came out at one point and didn't even come up to us, just looked at us. He ran over to an elderly couple to accommodate their favorite spot but had to hurry up the people at that table too. That was very rude of the waitress to go over to where the couple were sitting and put pressure on them to hurry up and eat so that an elderly couple could sit at their favorite seat. Put them at another seat since there were plenty open. This owner is destroying the reputation of this business. If they're going to hike up prices and cut portions, they should at least offer something new and exciting on the menu. Keeping the same menu for over 20 years while doubling prices and reducing quantity is a recipe for disaster. It's no wonder loyal customers are frustrated. Maybe a complete rebranding with a fresh menu would help, but it seems like they've got a lot of work to do to win back longtime customers trust.

Yelp
Food: No, not the best Lobster Roll. Not fresh, and the sauce, unbelievably not enough and on a very frugal hot dog bun. Come on! Service: Nothing against the old lady that was serving us. But with the ownership that would allow for that type of service. Ambiance: No Comment. Let me not get started on the Salad Bar. We were also treated like we were from another section of the world. The tip was handwritten on our bill as if we were not aware to leave tip on the "marvelous " service we just had received. I am just going to say, do not go there for the Lobster Roll.

Tina B.

Yelp
I'm being generous giving a 1 star if I could it would be negative star. Charged 32 for 4 oz portion of fried clams and cold fries. They managed to even mess up a turkey club.... Bacon was actually tough and bread was burnt and onion rings cold and soggy. Will never eat there again. To top it all off the service was atrocious.

Yelp
Had a great experience on Friday night and Saturday morning! I called ahead( Friday night) party 8- 4 adults, 4 kids. Asked to seat in the lounge so parents could play keno. Waitress was great, and food was good as well. We had a mixture of things from onion soup, chicken piccata to fishermans plate and kids plates- all food was good. The next day as we were vacationing, my dad wanted to go. We were first ones in there sat in lounge again- waitress was amazing! She did keno, bar and waitressed - thanks again- we will be back!

Yelp
This is an old-school restaurant. Dated in the best way. I would not change a thing. My sister and I have been coming here for years. They have consistently delicious home style dishes that have been perfected through the years. Their seafood is always fresh and cooked to perfection. There is something for everyone here. The wait staff are excellent, no matter how busy they have been we have always been treated like their only customer. My Sister got fish and chips with mashed potatoes instead of fries, and a side of butternut squash. Yes that picture is all thick white flaky haddock, no fries on that plate. I got the Cajun seafood sauté. Angel hair pasta was not listed, but I asked and they did it. It was nice and spicy with plenty of shrimp and scallops. We both had more than enough left to take home for a second meal. Yeah no cooking tonight!!

Yelp
I haven't been to this restaurant in a while but the prime rib was very good and the fries and onion rings were good the only complaint was for 11.99 the salad bar was absolutely terrible the tomato soup tasted like marinara as I saw in another review. But the chicken soup looked like it was cooked till there was no broth so get the prime rib forget the salad bar

Richard Z.

Yelp
Short review : Ripoff. To elaborate, we had their 5.99 salad bar and a cup of chowder with my wife. The salad bar was meager with 6" shallow salad plates with wilted lettuce. Also we had 1 ice tea and a water . The bill came to $52 before tip. You ask, how can that be? Turns out even thought the menu says $5.99 for the salad bar, it's actually $15. The cups of chowder ( mostly potatoes and flour) were $8 each (which we knew). I talked to the manager who was very condescending. She acknowledged the menu said $5.99 but said we needed to order a full meal to get that price. She acknowledged it was not stated as such on the menu but that was our problem. She went on to say that she herself has had tiny salads that cost more. Lastly she told me we would have been better off to have ordered the lobster roll...Really?

George W.

Yelp
Food never arrived after waiting 45 minutes. Owner of the establishment approached the table and aggressively told me the order went in ten minutes ago and stuck the order in my face (in a full dining room) .He did not listen to me when I stated I'd been waiting for 45 minutes. Watched other people arrive order and eat their meals while I still waited Very hostile owner who then said...don't ever come back. I certainly won't and encourage all other customers not to either! I continued to another restaurant in newburyport and had an awesome meal and wonderful service.

Susan N.

Yelp
My husband and I, trying to eat healthy, opted for the salad bar (not many restaurants offer this anymore). We had tomato soup, tasted like tomato paste from a can. Got the salad and it was ok because you choose your own, even if from a limited selection. The waitress forgot my iced tea, so had water. She brought rolls and butter, a nice touch since again most places don't do this anymore. Got the bill... a whopping 50$ for bad soup, average salad, rolls, and water! Atmosphere is dated, cold, and dirty. Never again!!

Yelp
THE CLAM CHOWDER WAS SO PERFECT that I had to revoke my lower star review from when i was upset that i had to make my dad wait on father's day when i called in advance... (i'll explain at the end.) but this place seems sweet and genuine good ppl work here. the cl chowder was a super chunky, clammy, and thick. creamy and full of flavor, perfectly seasoned with the oyster crackers on the side. was kinda looking to get a lobster since the sign says steak and lobster, but no regular lobster. they had fried lobster, baked and stuffed lobster, and lobster pie, and some pastas. not really my thing, but if you like it it looks pretty nice. i'd prefer just a lobster boil. luv the chowder reservation drama: we called and asked if it's necessary to make a reservation since it's father's day. she said nope it won't be a problem, just come in when you get here. we're like ok, we drive there (20 mins) it's like packed with 30+ minute wait... not how i wanna treat dad on father's day. i wish she'd just written down our name.

Mike S.

Yelp
Not as good as it used to be. Got the baked stuffed haddock. Dry as a bone, stuffing dried out and stuck to the dish like it had been reheated several times. Too bad, used to be great.

Yelp
Stopped in Sunday night - loved the charming decor. Staff greeted us and were very welcoming. Menu was great - hard to decide We started with French onion soup and Baked stuffed mushrooms -w/ lobster meat !!! Fresh rolls and butter were warm and delicious!! We ended up splitting the Fisherman's platter - lots of scallops clams shrimp and haddock over fresh fries and homemade onion rings !!! Tricia our server was delightful and very accommodating. We will def be back !!!

Dawn B.

Yelp
Of 3 meals ordered, got 2 warm and 1 cold meal. When I notified the waitress... she pretty much told me that if I still want a baked potato.. it will be a long wait. And obviously my 2 guests already are eating their meal so it's not cold! Very disappointing and was finally happy to bring mom and my fiance out to dinner. I took my meal to go coz it got to me when my guests were done eating. They could have given a discount, an apology... but no. I paid full price and gave a good tip for a lousy meal. I would not go there ever again

Yelp
I have visited this restaurant apx every two weeks for at least 2.5 years I have always received wonderful service and excellent food After the last two visits I will not return First visit I was a little annoyed that I couldn't get soup in place of salad. I even offered to pay upcharge but I was not it was not allowed The next visit - no music playing. Total silence Very uncomfortable when you can hear every conversation and echos The waitress had to be told she had a table after I sat 20 mins. Only 3 tables including me Then I received the bill. I couldn't believe they upcharged me $2.00 for bar vodka The White Russian cost me $16. I had the same waitress last two visits. Not sure what happened to the happy upbeat stuff

Yelp
This is a place that seems like it's been there forever-- kind of a place for old timers. For example, you can get mashed potatoes with gravy with any seafood dish. The food was okay and we were hungry. The prices were a bit high but we were hungry. The seafood was all fine but the ribs my husband ordered looked like they'd been cut off of a brontosaurus. He said he'd never been so scared by his dinner. I would go back just to be waited on by our waitress. A woman straight out of central casting, a waitress you could only get in the Boston area. Smart, funny, attitudinal in the best and kindest way possible. She gave us all the extras and was a high point of my summer. Ps. Get the chocolate cake. And if she likes you, the waitress will bring whipped cream.
google avatar

Dustin P.

Yelp
Food is not very good, very greasy, overcooked fried clams. Very poor quality. The buffalo tenders were very good, homemade, no tendons. They were perfect. The French onion soup was also good. Perhaps they were just off. But if your used to really good food maybe this is not the place for you.

Yelp
I've been going to the Hungry Traveler for many years and I always found it to be excellent. My favorite menu item is the prime rib. The last time I was there was a couple of years ago, and I just read a review from Bill M. from 4/29/23. I was almost afraid to go back after that review, but I did anyway, and I'm so glad! I got the prime rib, and it was just as tender and succulent and delicious as it has always been. The service was also great. I'm sure I'll be back again before too long.

Becky J.

Yelp
Food was decent, service was good, and it was not busy. Was kind of questioning the quality of the food, due to the lack of business. But the food wasn't lacking. Don't know if I would go back, would want to try other restaurants in the area. But it was definitely worth a try.

Peter G.

Yelp
I will follow the YELP instructions. I AM NOT FROM TEXAS. I AM FROM ROWLEY, MASS. FOOD: Was disgusting. My guest's also. I have eaten here many times in the past. It was excellent then. New, or different ownership, perhaps?? If so, FOLKS YOU NEED TO PACK IT IN!! SERVICE: Equally poor! The kids were running the show and doing well. The female servers who exceed 60 yrs. old?? LADIES YOU ALSO NEED TO PACK IT IN!! Either that or develop a personality. AMBIANCE: Hmm... Ambiance was never a great thing here in the past, but current decor is very shabby. Yes, this is a critical evaluation. I can assure you an honest eval. I, nor anyone I know will ever visit this restaurant again!!

Yelp
Love this place! Very outdated inside and out however, food is delicious, wait staff awesome and the prices were great! Don't judge a book by its cover, this place is a hidden gem!

Kate H.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience last evening at the Hungry Traveler! There was a full artificial black eyelash stuck to my plate! All the manager of the day could say was "there are no women in the kitchen"! No apologies or effort to make it up to me. In fact he suggested it was mine! WTF this was 8/10/23

Yang C.

Yelp
It reads voted best lobster rolls. So we decided to give it a try lol. The size of the lobster roll was in a hotdog bun maybe 4oz for $26 00. Wow if your on vacation try another place save some $$. This is our first and last trip.
google avatar

Ron F.

Yelp
The staff at the Hungry Traveler are the best. Donna made the meal great just by her nice friendly demeanor. The food was very good and prepared well. We will be back soon.
google avatar

Justin H.

Yelp
The entire staff is extremely friendly and the environment is elegant. The food portions are more then enough as you can see. Everything was completely delicious as well. This is another "Must See" in the books.

Kathryn K.

Yelp
My husband and I went there tonight and both ordered haddock. There were 6 bones (and big ones) in our haddock. We told our waitress and she said she would inform the owner. She then came back and said..."He said he was sorry." My husband got me a gift card from them for Christmas and it was 100 dollars and they gave him a 20 dollar extra card. When we went there, owner said it must of been a mistake and did not honor it...despite we had it in writing from them!!! Needless to say, we will not be back...owner does not care about his patrons or reputation. Used to be soooo good!!!

Yelp
After a day of hardcore birding and hiking in cold weather, I was looking for a hotel when I passed by this restaurant. When I realized I was starving, I turned around and entered the building. The waitress, Kim, was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I ordered the seafood chowder which was out of this world and two appetizers: the mushroom casserole and fried calamari, of which the large portions really surprised me. I am Italian and I always order calamari and it was perfection. For dinner, I ordered the veal parmesan with pasta and OMG, it was like my dad's cooking which I miss since his passing. I could only eat about a third of it and took the rest with me and ate it for supper and breakfast. It was still good after warming it in the microwave. The funny thing was, the manager thought I was a food critic and kept coming out from the back to look at me. Honestly, I am a nurse who takes birding vacations around the US and writes reviews regarding hotels and restaurants. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Say "hi" to Kim for me! Mangia!

Michael N.

Yelp
We have been going to the Hungry Traveler for over 30 years for many meals and always liked the food and service. This past Saturday evening, we went for dinner. There was short wait to be seated. Our wait person was personable. We ordered our dinner selections and then promptly received rolls and salad. After forty minutes of waiting for the dinner entees, I commented on the extreme amount of time it was taking for the main course, especially since the dining room was pretty empty. (People across the room were seated after us and had already been served dinner and finished eating their food). The bus person (who appeared to be under the influence of something) overheard my comment to my dinner companion and told the NEW owner. He came over to our table (aggressively) and told us that we hadn't been waiting for forty-five minutes. Our wait person overhead the owner and stated, "they haven't been served yet"? He ignored her and raised his voice (yelling), now screaming at us and telling us we were to never come back!!!! He mistreated us and caused an embarrassing scene. I /we would HIGHLY recommend you avoid this restaurant!!!!! With any luck, this establishment will permanently close under the direction of the new owner!!!!

Frank D.

Yelp
I love Hungry Traveler! The chowder is amazing and their seafood options make going numerous times a must. I recently went with family and enjoyed their spicy clams over ziti in a red sauce. It was unbelievable. The baked seafood casserole is also amazing. This is an old school dining experience. Don't expect a five star Bobby Flay experience but instead a local hangout with hearty cooking. You will get rolls and butter brought to the table and old school dinner options that have long since been forgotten by many restaurants.

Bill M.

Yelp
Here's the latest. There senior wait staff has quit on the new owners. this is a fact. We stopped in there today. She got her usual Prime Rib and I got my Bacon Cheese Burger. she managed her way through the Prime Rib, but said it wasn't as good as before. My BCB was a complete mess. The burger alone looked like it sat on the grill since yesterday, cold, thin, dry as a bone. the cheese wasn't even melted over it. the bacon was damn near raw and the roll was toasted BLACK. I took one crunchy bite and pushed it away. The waiter came over and ask How's Things, I pointed at the BCB and he knew. he offered me another. NO ! He took it off the bill and we walked out, never to return. sorry HT but you're going one way. STRAIGHT DOWN.

Yelp
My family eats out a lot and this place exceeded expectations. Great price even better food. This place was quiet when we went in maybe because it was 2pm but I was a little nervous because it was so quiet. Waitress was super nice (has worked there for 47 years!!) and I had 3 kids with me and she was great with them. It had a kid friendly vibe. Chowder was creamy with lots of clams and was hot. My husband and I both love onion soup and it was one of the better onion soups I've tried. I got a strawberry daiquiri because well vacation and it was delicious. Kids got chicken fingers and fries and pasta with butter sooo nothing special there (actually I tried my daughters chicken finger and it was delicious) but I got the seafood pie and that was ah-mazing and came with a baked potato and corn (I think you could choose other sides too). Over all ---awesome experience I'll come back here again. We then got dessert because well vacation and it was great. I didn't get a pic before my kids destroyed it.

Yelp
Well,.....I've been going to the HT since 1983 and it was always the BEST. I haven't visited in years so had a taste for their Classic menu. Drove 60 miles and arrived at noon and it was pouring outside! At noon some woman peeked into the bar and announced they had no baked potatoes. Wow already I thought! The bartender didn't even pay attention to putting on any sports or anything interesting on the tv so it was actually quite boring. No familiar faces of waitstaff. Seems like all new staff. I ordered seafood chowder and the surf & Turf. The chowder was not that overwhelming. :( When I received my surf & Turf the turf was black. Again not too impressed, it was under seasoned and dry :( In fact I opted to take the 2nd chunk of beef and split it up between my patiently waiting pups in the truck :) The Lobster Pie was dry and lackluster. Certainly not like what I remember from years gone by. It was always nice and buttery with lots of the right ingredients,... fresh parsley etc..to make it mouth watering. They didn't even have their old familiar salad bar :( I am heartbroken. Unfortunately I will be scratching it from my all time favorite "Go to" restaurant list. Was not worth the 60 miles from this Hungry traveler :(

Gwen F.

Yelp
Great prime ribs, staff is always so friendly. Service is fast and efficient! Justin was awesome and very helpful! The great old timey vibe of the restaurant makes it a perfect place to dine.

Yelp
Everything About This Place Is A Must! I Went There On Thanksgiving Last Year And It Was Spectacular! I Been Coming Here My Whole Life. A Bit Pricey But A Nice Treat For Sure. :)

Tricia P.

Yelp
It was good. I enjoyed the clam chowder with a Caesar salad and my dinner partner had the salmon. I'd like to get the recipe for the salad dressing. It was thick and full of flavor. The price was resort price of $50 for all. Otherwise no regrets.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
I can't say enough about how enjoyable their food is. The restaurant is generally outdated, but in a way that adds to its charm. You can tell most of their classic recipes have been perfected and made the same was as they were 50 years ago - you cannot find Chicken Marsala like this anywhere anymore. Prime rib excellent. I haven't had a bad thing yet and I've been back probably ten times. Everyone I've taken here has thoroughly enjoyed their experience and keeps requesting to go back when they're in town. Service has always been good no matter if by waitresses that have been there for decades, or the teenage kids just starting out - you can tell they train their staff very well and there is a general sense of pride you don't always see. While I think a few steps into the modern era could embellish this place greatly (website/bar/happy hour?) this is an all round Old school experience in the best way possible. Great place to take the parents.

Yelp
Delish lobster roll! Reasonably priced. Came with fries. Staff very friendly. I'd cone back again!

Yelp
Incredible kitchen Staff who have been perfecting their dishes for over 40 years. The food never disappoints and the service makes you feel like part of the family.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in my visit to The Hungry Traveler. The most positive comment I can make is that it was very clean. I don't take that for granted nowadays. People were pleasant but it's 2020 and calling people "honey," "dearie," or "sweetie" is condescending and inappropriate. Customers are largely regulars; if you are a regular and you sit at the bar you get a bowl of popcorn; if you are not a regular, you are ignored. My meal was a small serving of broiled haddock that was too heavily seasoned with garlic. Onion rings were good but the shortening left a funny aftertaste and a greasy coating in my mouth. Squash was ordinary. For the quantity and quality of food, the price was a bit high. If you're in the area and starving, it is an OK place to go...but don't go out of your way.

Jen S.

Yelp
Hungry traveler never disappoints. We are there pre-Covid and always had excellent meals especially the grilled swordfish, baked haddock, steak tips and chicken piccata. Their side dishes are good as well including the rice, the mashed potatoes, french fries and butternut squash. Don't forget to start out with the dates to stuffed mushrooms. This restaurant has options for everyone from extremely fresh seafood to Italian specialties. My favorite is the chicken piccata with lemon and capers over linguine. Since COVID-19 we have taken out from the traveler and the meals have still been consistently good. They have upgraded with new windows and take out service as well as a nice outdoor seating area. The inside is open again for those who worked for indoor dining. Last night we order the grilled swordfish with rice and broccoli. And we also have the steak tips with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. We ordered a small house salad to start. The portions are very big. I saved half of my steak tips with the mashed potatoes for lunch the next day. The side portions are a good serving and can be shared as well. Butternut squash mashed potatoes rice and Cole slaw are my favorites. I get steak broccoli and put lemon on it for extra flavor!! The dinner rolls are hot and exceptionally fluffy. Best in the area for sure. What else can I say. Definitely worth stopping on your way home from the beach. The takeout window makes it very easy if you want to grab and go. Or you can sit down and have a nice meal.

Yelp
Just met some people floating floating in the ocean in Aruba and they recommend it this restaurant. It sounds amazing I can't wait to try it. The people in the ocean were telling me that their prime rib was absolutely the best!! More to come!

Yelp
Only tourists coming from the beach would be fooled by this place. We only stopped here today as a friend recently moved to this neighborhood and we were visiting. The seafood platter was lower grade than pig swill. Shrimp tasted and smelled HORRIBLY of iodine, totally inedible. Clams were fried to a burnt mess, fish was thin pieces of tail meat and the 4 scallops on the plate were cut into halves. French fries and onion rings were soggy. I liked the cole slaw though . Tourist: drive 20 miles south to Essex!!! You'll be much happier and won't be getting ripped off.

Yelp
The food was good. But service was slow. It took 1 hour to get dinner. Salad and burgers dinner. Stopped in around 8 pm after spending the day on the beach. We were seated right away and our waitress was right there immediately trying to get drinks orders. She seemed a bit put out when I said we were just seated, hadn't even looked at the menu yet. She brought water and bread a few minutes later and we were ready and placed our orders. And that is where the attentive service ended. She brings dinner, and asks if we want ketchup. Fish and chips. Onion rings. Hamburger. I'm willing to bet 99% of people who order those items will want ketchup. So why not just bring the bottle. Instead of making us wait 5 minutes for you to come back. Once we were done eating we sat at the table forever with dirty plates. All 3 of us visited the restroom. We sang 100 bottles of beer on the wall. We read War and Peace. The unabridged version. She finally reappeared. Stacked our dirty plates right in front of me. I already had my credit card out. But I still had to ask for the check. She brings the check, drops it on the table and walks away. Even though I'm waving my credit card in the air. There are limited dining options in the Salisbury area. And because of that I may be back. But only if I have time to spare.

Yelp
Nothing fancy. Just a good, simple, unassuming restaurant. With great food.

Yelp
Advertised as lobster and steak but they can't do either right. We called and spoke to the hostess and asked to put our name on the list, as we would be there in 15 minutes. She said no problem and see you soon. We show up only to have her tell us she didn't put our name down and "they don't do that". We asked why she told us that she would, on the phone, and all we got was a blank stare. After writing our name down we sat down to wait and watched the other hostess come ask about 3 different parties. Each time the main hostess said a name and the other hostess said "I already sat them". Clearly she has no grasp on what was going on. We finally were seated and literally 47 minutes later we received our food. Lobster roll was flavorless with miracle whip and giant pieces of celery. It was almost like it wasn't even real lobster... Worst roll either of us has ever had. I had ordered the baked hattock and it arrived cold, barely breaded, and overdone. The fish should be buttery not chewy. My side was cooked broccoli that was half done and also zero flavor. Both meals showed a lack of creativity or even a basic level of seasoning. The waiter was a little slow but very nice, which is the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1. You could tell he knew it was crappy food but there wasn't anything he could do. He did recommend the mudslide drink, which was actually very good. It's hard to screw up a boozy milkshake though.

Yelp
There isn't much of a way I can describe this place besides for the attached picture. Tried calling the manager to let them know that we got sick after eating. She didn't even care a little bit. Was actually rude and dismissive. Lobster roll and salmon was good. Any fried fish did us in though.

Yelp
I was so underwhelmed by the new Hungry Traveler. There was no one in the place and our food took 45 minutes... arrived cold and was honestly awful. I used to love this place. This review makes me sad.

Yelp
Ive been coming here off and on for 32 yrs. Went to dinner to celebrate sons birthday. Three of us got seafood all of us agreed scallops, shrimp, fish and lobster all very bland, no flavor not sweet at all. Service was good, waitress offered to send back to chef but that wasnt happening. Disappointed and wont be returning. 8/5/22
