NYC Grocery and Coronavirus: Restaurant Spices and Seasonings to Buy for Home Cooking | Eater NY

"I grabbed Hunky Dory's $35 snack pack that includes Hunky Hot Sauce, za’atar seasoning, and the spice blend they use to season their fried chicken and french fries." - Luke Fortney

NYC’s Best Restaurants of 2019, According to Eater Critic Ryan Sutton | Eater NY

"By contrast, Claire Sprouse’s Hunky Dory is a more laid-back all-day spot with a sustainably minded beverage program (think sunflower seed orgeat), ridiculously cheap apple cider pancakes ($4), and one of the city’s top egg sandwiches." - Ryan Sutton

First time trying Hunky Dory. Apparently this outlet is Halal (according to the staff). The price is reasonable and the portion is huge. The Panko Fish Burger was crispy and good, quite big for small eaters. We bought The Bay I think and the Hunky Dory set. The Flake was ok, the other fish is up to ur liking. I feel the food is just so-so. The sweet potato fries is good maybe abit overcooked, same goes with the chip. The batter abit too thick for the calamari for my liking. Service was fast and good. I would say, it was overall a decent meal (especially for families) and value for money.

Haven’t been in a while so we went there yesterday, we waited over 35min for our food, when I approached the young lady working she said sorry but we are really busy, the only thing is everyone that ordered after us got there meal and ours hadn’t even been made. After we had sat down they got busy, maybe don’t do ur uber eats orders before the people actually dinning in, that would be a good start!

The staff alone are enough to revisit, the food never misses either. My favorite menu item, the pranko fish wrap (extra fish) is hated by there computer system but they make it work every time.

We used to love coming here as a family but after the last few visits I don’t think I’ll be back. The pricing was always in the higher end and it used to be justified because it’s seafood and freshly made, but lately the portions esp of the seafood itself have shrunk drastically. When the plate of grilled calamari came out I was shocked and asked the waitress where the rest of the food was which she casually just said “we have always put 15-16 pieces on one serving”….yeah that might be true but the size of pieces have shrunk dramatically like the length of the calamari has literally been cut down to half what it used to be, not to mention the skinny portion of fish. The Greek salad mainly just lettuce with 1-2 pieces of tomato and cucumber in it, although surprising the feta was a decent amount. I can’t justify paying these prices for these portions any longer.

Very family friendly atmosphere. Spoilt for choice when it comes to seafood. The fish are perfectly fried, accompanied by big portion of chips/fries. Lots of different dips to accommodate different taste buds. Very affordable. Even the burgers are delicious, coming from a fish & chips restaurant. Went twice and wasn't disappointed both times. Came out full bellied and achieved my full stomach satisfaction!

Even if you walk in starving, you’ll leave questioning your life choices after tackling one of their mammoth portions. It’s the kind of place where your eyes will betray your stomach, and you'll still try to power through every last bite because it’s that good.

First time dining at Hunky Dory Epping. Service is friendly, quick and we changed our order from dine in to take away but ended up eating outside at their tables. Went for Thankful Thursday. Thank you. Highly recommend ☆☆☆☆

I have been eating in Epping Honkydory for last 4-5 years drive 30 km to get there and get that fish of the day buttered this time they didn’t want a doit and they saying they never done it before. They made me look like I am liar. I know what I eat and order all the time. I don’t like grilled. I will not give up honky dory but I give up Epping one. Poor customer service. Must be owners changed or staff changed Never again Epping honkydory. Broadmeadow honkydorys service and food is better
