Hunky Dory Peggy's Cove I saw a post where someone else went here and the fries looked so good, I had to go. Yes these were frozen, but they were so darn good and had the smell to match. They have a few picnic tables outside but I decided to cross the road and sit in one of the chairs be a better view. These are called Yamtastic Fries. Crinkle cut sweet potato fries with candied jalapeños, sriracha aoili, parsley and Hunky Dory seasoning. The smell was so good, I couldn't wait to open them up. They were amazing. Definitely recommend and would get these again. I grabbed a water incase they were spicy, they weren't. Water was 4.50 plus the .10 deposit. Note to self, bring my own water next time. lol. I did only eat about half and dropped them off at the car so I could walk around the light house. There was a guy out there with his horn playing music. When I got back to the car, I ate the rest....my hole car smelt like them and I couldn't resist

This review is just for the lobsterlicious, the lobster poutine. Their other items may be better. The lobster poutine, though was near inedible as it was way, way too salty. I ate the lobster off the top and threw it away. Lobster by itself is naturally salty, as is the mornay sauce. The fries must’ve also been salted. Ideally you would probably use different fries for this dish than the ones you serve straight and NOT salt them at all for the poutine. Maybe the salt in the sauce could be reduced as well. I was the only customer at that moment and the women at the window were very friendly and professional, but the guys in the kitchen were just talking with each other and it took them 10 minutes to get to my order. I was there last Friday 9/26 at ~3:40PM.

Very good lobster roll. Lobster tasted fresh and the dill sauce complimented it well without being too heavy or overpowering. Also, good amount of lobster in the roll. Forgot to mention, the accompanying dries are very good - super crispy and satisfying. The lobster poutine was just OK - I found the fries on the salty side (possibly due to the spice mixture or amount of spice). Also the lobster quantity seemed a little light for the price. Food wise, I would stick with the lobster roll. Service was warm and friendly, no complaints there. There’s picnic tables on the sides on the restaurant.

Best lobster roll I’ve had in NS. Unique with the amount of fresh herbs and big chunks of lobster meat. Fries are extra crispy though I wish they were home made to live up to the care the lobster roll had. Would 100% come eat here again.

2nd visit and still the best ! We were visiting Peggy’s Cove again and wanted to revisit Hunky Dory after have an amazing lobster roll here 2-3 years ago… somehow I feel it was even better, stuffed full of lobster and such a fresh taste - one of the best we’ve had throughout New England !

Great staff, pretty good lobster poutine (fresh lobster and curds!), though we found the sauce/gravy or perhaps it was the fries, a tad too salty. The ice cream was crazy lovely! We saw the staff preparing each cone with ungloved hands though - hope they’re sanitized!!

Amazing experience near Peggy’s Cove! Loved their truffle fries and the “What the Fudge” dessert, absolutely delicious. Great spot, friendly vibe, and perfect after exploring the area. Highly recommend!

Get the ice cream at Hunky Dory and you won't be disappointed. Ordered their flavours of The Captain and As the Cookie Crumbles. Both were so yummy and a much needed snack. Service was super friendly!
