I first time participated the Center of Centered hosted by them to exhibit and sell my works. I am so grateful that they are giving artists a chance with a friendly participation fee compared to other organizations. This place is loved and supported by the local people.

This is a good place for local artists to show their artwork. Good for amateur artists as well as professionals. For visitors it offers a good selection of artwork epitomizing beach town California arts and crafts.

Huntington Beach Art Center is a wonderful gallery and an absolute gem in Orange County. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. I recently attended one of their openings and was very impressed with the caliber of the art on view in their beautifully immaculate, museum quality space. The curating here is top notch & it’s a quick 10-minute walk away from the pier. I cannot wait to attend more openings here!

Google
Huntington Beach art museum is a wonderful community treasure. Their slogan where art meets community is spot on We recently went to an art show there and it was wonderful. The artists were there and we had to chance to talk with them personally about their vision and their art. 🖼 There’s lots going on - exhibitions, events and education. This is the latest exhibit. If the shoe fits. Art on shoes - so interesting. The art classes are great - plenty of different classes. Find your niche and paint away. Enjoy your stroll through this community art center.

Wonderful art center with interesting clothes which you can find inside and take

Google
Rating given based on misinformation and lack of accountability. It was my first experience visiting this HB art center and I’m disappointed. If an art exhibit is “on view” from Oct 21 - Dec 16 and gallery hours on Saturdays are usually 12-5pm, why was the center closed to the public on Saturday, December 16? The front doors were locked today when I arrived at 3pm, the employees looked hesitant but one opened the door to tell me the art exhibit closed Friday, Dec 15 and that the center is closed today in reservation of an artist council meeting. They looked at me like I was supposed to know that somehow. Where was the information that the center is closed on this particular Saturday posted? Certainly not on the exhibit postcard, exhibit poster outside the center, website, or front door. Now I’m hesitant about returning to the center and trusting the employee’s invitation to “check out the next exhibit in January”. I suppose my tip is to not visit on the first or last day of their listed “on view” schedule.

Yelp
I've never been inside so thought I'd pop in The front desk person was really friendly There were two areas with what looked like local paintings in the exhibit The outside is very strange. It looks like a regular building and when I got to the door it didn't seem like it was open The outside could use a facelift

Yelp
I had a very memorable "Art Lunch" yesterday at the downtown Huntington Beach Art Center. One of my friends has a piece in the current exhibit and invited me to participate. I have intended to go to the art center for many years but it was not until yesterday that I made it happen. The Art Center is really a hidden jewel on the North end of the Main Street business district. The facility is large and airy and well lit. Multiple rooms make the exhibit a real exploration. The art work in the current show was spectacular! Delightful! Colorful! Emotional! In short it is everything that art aspires to be. I packed my lunch, and I dined with my friends. We were all having such fun we hated to leave. I can't wait for the next Art Lunch!

Yelp
Cute little art gallery in downtown Huntington Beach. Came here for their exhibit for the Day of the Dead, which was on for about 4 weeks. Admission is free but they operate off of donations, so please do donate to the gallery. It's a one level divided into several rooms, a very small gallery but the exhibit was very cool. There was an artist that was creating a sand sculpture on the floor live, and so we got to see him express his skills real time, which was super cool. There was a combination of sculptures, paintings and other forms of art work, very eclectic collection of items. A hidden gem if you are in the area and want to see something interesting and get away from the bro-fested area of Main street.

Yelp
Great little art center/museum with interesting exhibits and a super friendly staff. Parking in the area is a bit challenging during popular (weekend) times. Admission is free but they survive on donations so leave a few dollars in the donation box!

Yelp
This is a great place to see some art and take classes! I started taking classes here a few months ago to help fine tune some of my acrylic painting skills and I really love it! The classes are generally small, maybe 5-8 people, which means you can get some great quality one on one time with the instructor. In the intermediate class, they allow you to work on your own projects. This is extremely helpful to me as I was able to get help on exactly the problems I was experiencing with a current project. My instructor was Jose Loza and he was very helpful with instruction and critiques. The staff here is so friendly and welcoming and the teachers are amazing. I highly recommend you try one out. You won't regret it.

Yelp
HBAC is a great place for artists to connect, as well as for art enthusiasts to observe the vast art avail in OC. The exhibits are typically local artists of all levels and media, plus some very well renown artists. It's well worth a visit! I highly recommend artists, both beginner and advanced, young and old, come join the community art council (low anual fee) - it's a great way to support, as well as be supported, inspired, show your work, refine your skills and make great connections with new and creative artist friends! :)

Yelp
Toddler took a polynesian dancing class here, and the teacher was kind. Too many kids in one class though and hard to keep them all engaged, since many kids start wandering off and don't really participate or not sure if they actually learning. haha... it's just a fun experience for parents to see their kids perform and get ready for an actual recital.

Yelp
This hometown gem had been hiding right before my eyes. I became an amateur painter in retirement a few years ago. For over 40 years, I had NO IDEA what was inside until 2020 when I discovered it, immediately joined the Huntington Beach Art Center Artist Council, and as soon as I could, began to exhibit my paintings there . . . with great success! I urge folks to visit this dreary old Edison Company building that's been made into a 3,000 square foot, 4-gallery exhibit space. Upon entering one may feel they've been plucked out of their life and dropped into another environment! The interior is exquisitely clean and beautiful! The range of art is always very broad and deep, from 2-dimensional art of all kinds to installation art that hangs spectacularly from the high ceilings to sculpture and more imaginative and creative things than I can describe. I seriously encourage you to visit their website, check their hours and find the time to take it in. The staff are friendly. The art is terrific. Whether you're a casual looker or a collector, it's always a pleasant, sometimes exciting experience, depending on your zest for art. New exhibits start every few months, so there's always something new going on. The current showing runs until Dec. 16, 2023. A new exhibit opens in January. A little "art shop" is just off the lobby. It usually shows smaller, less expensive art pieces that might make wonderful holiday gifts. Always worth a look - at least a few times a year! It's free! Go look!!

Yelp
Stopped by for opening night of Looming Spaces, a textile and weaving show by 4 female artists. Colorful, fun. Lots of hours goes into these works and it shows. The artists were on site to explain their work, which made it even more enjoyable. It's important that Huntington Beach has this art venue downtown and open to the public. It keeps the community plugged in. They offer classes and there are some coming up in October 2017 for weaving and spinning if you are interested.

Yelp
The recent String Theory exhibition was small but enjoyable. I live not far from this gallery and should really visit far more often. Entrance is free (or was when I visited), but if you're any sort of reasonable human being you'll donate some money on entry.

Yelp
Great place to check out some local artists, yeah I might be a bit biased since my wife's photo's are on display.

Yelp
The gallery director, Kate Hoffman does an outstanding job. Everyone at the HB Art Center is so friendly and helpful. There are lots of art classes offered, and there's always a wonderful collection of artwork to view at ever-changing shows throughout the year. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you would love to see a new art exhibit there is always one going on at the Art Center. The center also offers classes and has some great art groups that bring local artists together. You can't visit HB without going to the art center.

Yelp
Just under a mile from the famous pier at Huntington Beach, you will find a serene piece of art heaven on the corner of Main & Acacia. This art center is much larger than it looks and offers a nice change of pace from the surf and sand. Also, it is free! I caught a wonderful plein air exhibit by local professional artists in watercolor and oil. The exhibition paintings were for sale at reasonable prices. Easy parking all around the Center.

Yelp
Took a recent oil painting class here last fall- it was fun but i didn't get much interaction w/ the instructor- may just have not been my thing. They do have a lot of cool events and a range of genres for different interests :)

Yelp
Hidden just north of the Surf City pier is a gem of art by local artists and friends. Just across the street and north of the Huntington Beach Library. A great place to browse and contemplate the minds of talented artists.

Yelp
The art center is a beautiful exhibition space. They are not afraid to push the limits even though it is a city art gallery. They reach out to the community for both adults and children offering great classes. They have some of the finest local artists who meet monthly to socialize and share their work. The artwork from these artists is on exhibit once a year for purchase. The artists have their contact information available so patrons can buy other works during the year. Often one or more of the artists in the council are able to walk you through the gallery on a individual basis. The prices vary a bit and some work is pricey but there is no substitute for original art on your walls.

Yelp
Absolutely love the HB Art Center. We went to a concert there last weekend and the sound was fabulous! Supporting artists locally and from afar is their #1 goal and providing the community with quality live music thrills many of us 'locals'...Keep up the good work!

Yelp
We came to see "Time Lines" exhibit at 3pm today. The door was closed. The hours shown on the door for Saturday are noon to 5pm. There were other people standing by the door looking confused and upset. We decided to walk around Main street for a little bit, and come back. 45 minutes later the door was still closed. Very disappointing.
