The care i received in the tramua ER department was abysmal. I came in for hemorrhage due to a a miscarriage. I was treated so roughly and inhumane it is unconscionable. I have deep bruises and sores on my arms from the amount of times i was stabbed with ivs. I was telling one of the male nurses to stop and something was wrong and was told to be quiet. Later the other nurses kept pumping my vein roughly for blood but none would come out bc of how poorly the iv was put in. I hope I do not have permanent damage. After i was out of the tramua unit i could not move my arms and was wheeled around cold and shivering with no decency. I had to do my best to cover my breasts. In the after care, I waited in a pool of my own miscarriage blood (very heavy blood) for hours. No one offered to clean me up or have any sort of sanitation. I had to demand it and when I did, I was faced with hostility by the nurses and punished by being ignored. There was no communication between the nurses. I asked multiple times for a sandwich from the nurses, I had lost alot of blood and was starving and three different times the nurse would need to ask the doctor, get their permission, and then they would disappear and I never saw the food. The obgyn I saw did not ask me about the hemorrhaging i experienced at home, the reason i came Into the ER in the first place and gave no real explanation or theories about why this happened. There were some kind staff, but the inhumane way I was treated outweighed all of the positives. Awful, traumatic experience and I will be escalating this asap.

Absolutely awful experience. Triage when we got here was zero questions and no one looked at the cut my wife has on her head. Have been waiting 6 hours after being told we were in the fast track side and 3 and 1/2 hours was max. I have now gotten 5 different answers from the staff. The last staff member told me it could be 9 hours. Really? Well, yes. I am now almost 10 hours in and was just told snottily by a nurse that the Doctor “would come in when he is ready.” Can’t make this up. Care givers. The staff can’t even call out the names properly when calling patients back for treatment. Half of the staff mumbles. I would give them a zero or negative number if I could. Something is very wrong at this hospital. Unless you are on your death bed, go somewhere, anywhere, else.

Horrible hospital! Not to be trusted with your loved ones!. 1. Transportation aren't careful when pushing patients around the hospital. They crashed my father's bed into the doors multiple times. As if they didn't care. (Stopped giving them the benefit of the doubt after the 7th time). 2. nurses stopped drawing my dad's blood to say hi to a friend, walked away and gave the friend a hug kept the gloves on and went right back to try to poke him again until i said something 3. a student comes in and is working (she ends up obviously struggling with my dad.) I look at the 2 people watching the student and they just stand there watching her struggle with my dad. i stepped in and helped.. and then they want to talk to me all nice and stuff HELL NO 4. coming into the room at 3am saying "HELLO SIR HOW ARE YOU" in a loud voice is not proper bedside manner. 5. Rooms are cold. Even though the bath wipes are warm.... STOP GIVING PATIENTS SPONGE BATHS AT 4AM in the morning. You shouldn't be waking them up for that stuff especially when they had a hard time sleeping and are very restless. I loved the doctors. They were helpful, asked if we had any questions, do we know the plan of care etc. Nice! But these 10 bad apples put a dark cloud on ALL OF HUNTINGTON hospital. Receptionist ladies were helpful Security was nice and helpful with directions Gift shop people were super nice A few of the transportation guys were nice and helpful. Nurses upstairs SOME of them were nice I'd like to say retaliation is not going to happen IT WILL IN THIS HOSPITAL. If you have to go here.... FOLLOW YOUR LOVED ONE EVERYWHERE. DONT "WAIT IN THE ROOM" if they treated my father like this while he was with me. How do you think they will treat your loved one while they're alone. Or patients who have no one to advocate for them.

Erwin is amazing at what he does in the ER. He’s fast, attentive, and so caring with patients. He answers call lights right away, checks in often, brings blankets, and makes sure everyone feels taken care of. In such a high-stress setting, his calm and compassionate attitude really stands out. Huntington Hospital is lucky to have him

Google
During my recent visit at the Huntington Hospital, I received exceptional care and service. I was greeted by friendly people as soon as I checked into the front desk. Very pleased with the short wait time, and how quickly they got me into a room. As soon as the nurse arrived, she had treated me with much care and patience. Doing whatever she could to make sure my needs were taken care of. I was out in no time with a very smooth visit. And my ear pain resolved, leaving me very content. Not to mention, the facility is very clean and well kept. Definitely one of the best hospitals I have been to. Thank you to the staff, for I will be returning to this establishment with any of my medical needs.

Google
Ever since Hunnington hospital merged with Cedar Sinai. Their patient care has I diminished drastically!!! We're going on 9 hours in the emergency room. I guess if you're not bleeding out or come in by ambulance. You're really just put on the back burner. What was once a great medical facility, Has turned into and I hate to say it but, worse than a county hospital.

Google
The nurses are extraordinary. This is what matters the most in any hospital. I was there for 3 days with a slipped disk and they were the most carrying, attentive, sweet, and professional I’ve ever seen. Lisbeth in the ER, Maggie on the 6th floor, as well as Alejandra, and several others really made such a difference.

Google
I had a really bad case of strep/tonsillitis, and the urgent care doctor told me to go to the ER for a possible drainage procedure. I went to Huntington Hospital since my symptoms were getting worse and the antibiotics weren’t helping. Katherine R. Harter examined me and reassured me that stronger meds should work without needing the procedure. She explained everything clearly, was super caring, and prescribed the right medication. After about 48 hours, I already started feeling much better. I’m really thankful for how kind and thorough she was—it made a big difference both physically and mentally. Also, the nurse Kelly (I think that was her name) was really sweet and gentle too. I highly recommend this hospital and the staff here. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me!

Yelp
I visited the Huntington Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center for physical therapy to address lower back pain and rebuild upper body strength. From the very beginning, the care I received here stood out far beyond any other physical therapy experience I've had. My physical therapist, Sue, was truly exceptional. I wasn't coming in with a straightforward issue--my situation was complex, involving older injuries and overlapping pain patterns that required a thoughtful and customized approach. What impressed me most was that Sue didn't just rely on routine protocols. She took the time to research my rare condition to ensure the exercises she recommended would strengthen my body without triggering other areas of pain. That level of dedication and clinical insight is rare and deeply appreciated. Another standout was the consistency and professionalism of the entire office. My appointments always ran on time. I never waited more than five minutes to be taken back, which made the experience smooth and stress-free from start to finish. I was a patient here post-COVID, during a time when masking, distancing, and health protocols were in full effect. Despite the added challenges, the entire operation ran very smoothly. Safety was clearly a priority, and the environment felt both calm and well-organized. Unlike other clinics where therapists show you the movements and then leave you to complete them on your own, Sue stayed with me throughout each session. She monitored my form, made thoughtful adjustments in real time, and offered consistent encouragement. The only times she stepped away were to prepare the next part of the session--whether it was therapeutic massage, resistance training, or assisted stretching. Thanks to the personalized care I received, my lower back pain improved so significantly that I no longer needed the injections I had been scheduled for. The progress I made felt meaningful, lasting, and most importantly, safe. If you are looking for a place where you will be seen, heard, and treated as an individual--not just a diagnosis--I can't recommend this rehab center enough. Sue and the team at Huntington deliver thoughtful, evidence-based care that truly makes a difference.

Yelp
I have positive feedback on the delivery and maternity ward but their janitorial staff uses the same rags and brushes to clean the inside and outside of their toilets.

Yelp
The care is good, they're attentive and mainly do they're job but nothing out of the ordinary. It's a hit or miss with the friendliness or kindness but it may just be the staff had a bad or long day. We're all human after all. They do charge you for every little thing, so whatever they give you or treat you with if you're admitted, take and use. Parking gets expensive, especially if you're there on a regular. It's $1.50/15min or $12 max, I posted a picture of the sign with prices and info. You might be able to get comped parking depending on what you're being treated for. It never hurts to ask. You can't just wonder in or around, there are security posted in several areas. In the outpatient clinic areas the staff seem more friendly. If you're visiting someone who was admitted, you need to show an ID and will have your picture taken for a printed temp visitor's pass. The staff at this info/check in desk are not the friendliest in my experiences.

Yelp
I'm currently in the ER for 3 hours with a mother who had back surgery. I asked for a bed for her and was advised there will be a 6 hour wait. The lady said she gave my mother an EKG but couldn't give me a time she gave it. My mother didn't remember getting an EKG. I'm not happy with the care so far.

Yelp
One of my family members was taken here after an accident, and when taken to the hospital they got an X-Ray. After the X-Ray they were told that they are completely fine. They then realised that the pain in their arm was not subsiding and their arm was swelling, and asked for another examination. Upon another X-Ray, they found that their arm was broken. Dont know why the staff were so unprofessional in the beginning. If my family member hadn't been assertive and forced another X-Ray, they would walk out with a broken arm and completely incorrect examination. Completely unprofessional service, I lost all my trust in their healthcare.

Yelp
Don't come here if you're actually having an emergency. Emergency room is hard to find, poorly marked, then you have to find parking in a paid structure and go through airport style security to wait in a crowded lobby where everyone plays videos on their phone at full volume, while staff gossips in the background. People are left waiting, crying and clearly in pain. Zero care or urgency. They care more about security than helping people in need of emergency care. And we came in with concerns of heart attack/stroke. We are still waiting.

Yelp
My husband has been hospitalized here and is currently still being held here , and my poor husbands conditions has only gotten worse not better ! I have been here off and on throughout the month and I've seen with my own eyes , why Ii believe it's only going to continue getting worse if i cannot get him out on an AMA asap! One particular incident I'll gladly share as it was just absolutely horrible to me the wife! Was my poor husband has been forced to be bedridden the entire month of October ! He's a n man who before going to hospital walked and talked perfectly fine, but they the (dr's and nurses ) will not allow him to the rights to walk around on his own or with family , and that includes to the restroom, so they're forcing him to have to use the restroom in his bed, that's HORRIBLE ! And being there with him he asked me (his wife) if I cld help him first Sit up on his own!! ( He totally could do it and I absolutely do not regret helping him! Because I wanted to see that he could as well, so I helped him sit up on his own the first and only time he was able to sit up on his own lasted maybe 10 seconds, that's when a nurse named Elizabeth, (totally Rude&condescending ) came in pissed at me for helping him have some dignity and freedom he frm being forced a prisoner to his bed!! She was so mad that she just threatened to have me removed for helping him! (Shocking reaction for a nurse to react in such hostility towards me his wife just trying to help her husband go to the restroom on his own and not in a bed ! And he could've made it into his restroom and would've been successful in using the restroom in a more dignified manor!) so she stormed out the room and returned with a security officer, my husband was completely shocked and was not trying to get me in any trouble by asking for my help! He felt so bad and sad at the overreaction of his nurse doing what she did!! ( he asked me? ) why are we in trouble because I want to walk to toilet and use it on my own?" I had no answers just a lot of my own Questions and complete disbelief! The security guard had to witness my husband Shit the bed ! And that was super shameful and hurt my husband immensely!! It was completely un necessary and was so profoundly rude!! I am worried about his care because they were also giving him meds to calm him down that have side effects of making you delusional !! Going to try and AmA home today, wish me luck!!

Yelp
Don't come here. You will wait for hours and hours and no one will update you as to when you will be seen. The front desk staff is unprofessional and jokes amongst themselves instead of acknowledging your presence. Judging by the other reviews, the wait times are always insane. Maybe the only "level II trauma center" needs to hire more staff??? Or go to the urgent care around the corner they'll see you immediately.

Yelp
Visiting a friend in the north wing after a procedure after an intestiinal surgery, this place was originally built in the 30s. Visitors get logged in and picture taken, not my best unfortunately. Very nice lobby though, elegant. We were able to meet the doctor and two nurses while there, they were very nice and helpful., they knew what they were doing. The patient seemed well taken care of. While medical, it was a nice hospital to have to spend time

Yelp
This post is for Huntington hospital billing and payment department. Recently we got a bill for the copay amount, I tried to process the payment, but it is so hard. 1. I called the number on the bill, the system informed that I can't process via phone, transferred me to representative, but no one answered. I tried multiple times, I even tried to have them to call me back, no call back. 2. I tried to pay online, it didn't work 3. I tried to sent mail, but I got returned mail, unable to forward. It is really upsetting, I wonder how others process the payment. I went there for the ER, maybe my insurance is out of the network, but it shouldn't be so hard just to process payments.

Yelp
Okay hospital in the area! Recently had the worst case of norovirus I have ever had in my life. I was miserable for about 5 days until the dehydration started to catch up with me and I decided to come to the Emergency Room. I'm still fairly new to the city, so the it was quite daunting waking up in the 5th day knowing I'd have to find emergency care somewhere near me. Huntington Hospital is a large campus with a confusing layout. My first complaint is the parking and having to pay for it when you're already going through some type of emergency situation. It was 5am and I was alone and disoriented, so it was a mission having to park and get to the entrance. Sunday at 5am it was me and one other person, receptionists were not very welcoming, just getting their jobs done. I was triaged right away and then waited about an hour with only 2 other people in the waiting room before being called back. The first doctor I saw was a female provider, can't remember her name, but she was very intrusive with my skin condition that had absolutely nothing to do with the reason I was there and I believe that it was because of her that several other nurses and doctors were adamant in knowing about my condition until I straight up told them to leave it alone because it was making me mad. In the end I got IV fluids and medication prescribed and I was on my way, but not before paying $12 for parking!!! lol Thankful they saw me and took care of me, but overall a weird experience and though generally for emergencies choices aren't really there, if I do have a choice I will likely try another hospital next time.(hopefully no time soon haha)

Yelp
I had fantastic care here for a pulmonary embolism and some resulting complications. I was seen quickly (it was a Monday morning, so not too busy) and admitted quickly. The ER and attending doctors were great. They communicated well and made sure I understood everything. Everyone seemed really on top of their game, but more than that, I was struck by the absolute kindness everyone showed me. Upon admittance, the RNs and nursing assistants were amazing. One of the RNs noticed I was watching funny dog videos and loved dogs, and the next day ordered me a dog therapy visit as a sweet surprise. One of the assistants knew I was miserable after 9 days with no shower (I was hooked up to too many things) but washed my hair in the sink like I was at a salon. It felt so good, like I'd had a full spa day! Another assistant brought her personal iPhone charger from home for me to use, as she noticed I didn't have mine, and was charging it randomly at the nurse's station. I could go on and on-everyone was lovely. And now I'm home, fully healed and doing great. I will always recommend HH, and I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Yelp
I gave birth to my first baby here and needed to go into an emergency c section. It was a Friday night and the nurses in the labor and delivery department treated me like a burden. I'd have 15+ personnel in and out of my operating room while my abdomen was open, and my doctor kept asking for someone to bring me socks (and no one ever did) I was brought to the windowless room where I would spend 5 days recovering. Aside from Linda and Belinda who treated me with compassion, the rest of the nurses looked at me like another person passing through their shift. Some were downright rude. One brought a trainee to install my catheter. When I expressed concerns about this she insisted it was fine but had to jump in to help when the trainee could not do it correctly. I feel like the negative experience here was demeaning and contributed to my post partum depression- a sad realization I've recently had, but good considering, now that I've realized the source I can move past it. This happened 2 years ago and I still think about it everyday when I catch myself being mean to myself like some of those nurses were mean to me. Again the two nurses who were kind to me will always remain in my thoughts as well. And the woman who came to clean my room was delightful. Plus my baby is healthy and happy, so I am grateful.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years. Their security is tougher than TSA at the airport! It would be annoying to anyone in a rush to get in to see a family member. Group of old people working as volunteers at the front that will literally chase you down if you try and walk by. Real security not far from them either if needed. They want your id, they scan it AND TAKE YOUR PHOTO. Good lord! Yall want my social too?! I knew exactly where to go to see my cousin, and as I was walking in while texting this old white man stood in front of me and told Me I had to check in. Parking is a NIGHTMARE here. Very minimal Parking. It's as if they created minimal parking to force you to have to valet. How are you going to build a HUGE hospital, but have minimal Parking on the north side?! It really is ridiculous. My cousin had outpatient surgery for a hysterectomy. My pops has been here twice before for robotic microscopic surgery and everything went well. I have no doubts that she is in great hands. Hospital is great, but parking is a nightmare and the volunteers act like they're COPS. Not a fan of dealing with them. Surgery went well. Cousin healed well with zero issues. Dr's are top notch here.

Yelp
Same day surgery- Complete screwup of scheduling left me lying on a gurney in a hospital gown with an IV needle in my arm for 3 1/2 hours. When I was told it would be at least another hour to wait for my turn, I demanded they pull the needle out of my arm. I took a cab home. all this was despite having my schedule in writing from my physician. I was called the night before and told to come in at 5 AM or two hours before I was scheduled. When I showed the nurse the written schedule otherwise she just dismissed it by saying, "we don't go by what the physicians say".

Yelp
Fuck this place. Emergency room is a joke. Took a family member there. Waited 10+ hours. So we left for another hospital. It was a joke of service, employees were not really helpful. I'd recommend go somewhere else. Lots of people were pissed in the waiting room. Rightfully so

Will C.

Yelp
The absolute worse care. I walked in to an emergency room where the waiting room was a total of two people ahead of me. That was at 10:45 am. It is now 3:21, and I still have not been discharged despite my scans and X-rays having been completed over half an hour ago. Avoid this hospital at all costs!

Yelp
Came to the Emergency Room on July 4th 2024 around 8 PM. I hadn't slept in 3 days. They ran some tests on me and put me back into a room in the ER. The doctor came back to see me and a technician put an IV in me where I'm still bruised. The doctor told me I have a benign cyst on my ovary. It took the psychiatric nurse 3 hours to finally come see. After that, my ACTUAL nurse, Justine, finally came into the room, and they got ready to transfer me to the Della Martin Center Unit 200 for a 72-hour hold. I had to give them all my stuff, including jewelry, books, my coloring books, and coloring materials. When I got to the psychiatric unit, it was fine at first until the clinical care staff became very unprofessional. I overheard Marc, a clinical care partner, talk to his fellow coworker about another patient. He said it was his fault he got shot because of the way he talks. I don't think health care professionals should be talking about their clients like this. My psychiatrist, Dr. Viguen Movsesian figured out what medications worked for me and finally discharged me after 83 hours in the unit. Once I got home, I realized someone on the staff had stolen from me. They stole my "Choose Joy" gratitude coloring book by Ink & Willow as well as my washable Crayola coloring markers. I am quite upset about this because i had colored quite a few pages, and because this book helped with my mental health. I have bipolar disorder type 1 and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also suffer from insomnia. Overall, it was not a good experience, and I do not recommend going here for any type of psychiatric help if you want to be treated like an actual human being and not be stolen from.

Yelp
I'm having a chest pain micro vascular disease patient. I came in 8:30 am and I'm still waiting 4:39 pm. After they check d my blood work and chest & heart Xray they made me just wait almost 8 hours. Every time I asked them about why they not calling me? They said waiting for the room! I can't believe this how they run business. I understand waiting is part of procedure but not this long hours. They need to fix problems what ever need to change.
google avatar

Alina S.

Yelp
Your front desk check in receptionist named Toni in the John staffer lobby who was visibly sick and coughing and sneezing while checking people , deciding to go out of her way to approach me and tell me that I cannot lay down. My mom is having a huge surgery and she called 4 securities on me for asking her to provide a policy that says I cannot lay down. Her response to the policy request is that there is not policy and that "it's what she says" she told me it's not "my house" and that I can't do whatever I want. I've never been treated like this at any hospital. I have left a message with provider relations and waiting to hear back. You cannot force people to follow a rule that is not the rule of the hospital or that a rule you cannot show a policy on. This lady should not be working in a hospital setting. Will not recommend Huntington hospital to anyone, discrimination

Yelp
My sister went to ED and the security guards were rude as they asked me to go around to the other line in the entrance as eventually ended up the same spot. The front desk was not helpful with triaging patients. My sister was kept nothing by mouth and IV hydration with pain since there was a shortage of IV. However, nursing staff service was outstanding. Thank you I will give it two stars of 5 subtracts the other

Yelp
Day staff is friendlier than night staff. Some ppl in uniform think they are almighty cuz they wear a uniform & a fake badge. For those of you who know reality I debated coming. Came day b4 but left to go to urgent care. My mistake cuz now it's packed. :( I must say I take nurse was very hospitable. Everyone wearing thing on face. It's cool cuz they're coughing all over the place so whatever but let me Clarify no body puts others at ri$k. Pretty sure they all had something stuck in @rm. The oUt break was cr8ed 4 Con,Trol. Hope it's getting clear by the minute. Over all place ok except for some but it's expected to have some right ? :/ Send me a pr ayer it's not serious. Thank you GB

Yelp
Terrible patient care. Did not give us any instructions when discharged from a serious trauma injury. Called back to get basic instructions that wasn't given to us, the receptionist or whoever it was, was dismissive, said to call our own doctor and they can't help answer our questions, and actually hung up on me. How is this okay. Crazy rude. Avoid this place!

Yelp
Dr. Asbasia Mikhail is outstanding! I had to take my son in for treatment and diagnosis of a head injury/concussion. She had wonderful bedside manner and asked thorough questions and provided him with quick care. We left feeling relieved and confident in her diagnosis. Two weeks later, I went into the ER with a lot of pain and uncertain of what to expect, but hopeful Dr. Asbasia (or someone similar to her knowledge, expertise, and character) would be there. To my luck, she was there and treated me! Once again, the staff was very prompt, professional, and kind, and thorough. There was no hesitation to provide me with testing necessary to diagnose or rule out what was causing my pain. I'm confident with Dr. Asabsia and the entire staff at Huntington Hospital ER. Thank you for all that you do to help others navigate uncertainty and some of the most difficult and emotional times in their lives. God bless you all!

Diane G.

Yelp
I would like to thank the doctors and nurses who took care of my dad. Yasmin RN and Michael RN in ER, ICU nurses especially Mona, her dedication to her job made her an exceptional ICU nurse. Thank you Mona for such an amazing job while my dad was still under your care. More power. - D Gonzaga, NP-C

Yelp
The entire system needs improvement. There is not one thing, save for a very capable ultrasound rep., that was executed well. I am completely unimpressed, frankly disgusted. The wait time was ridiculous with the staff themselves stating that there are times they make the patient wait up to 10 HOURS. What? Horrific. The waiting room isn't friendly(for people waiting 10 hours), the staff are joking around behind the glass when people are in pain and scared...ridiculous...left a scared young girl with a hotel room incident alone and crying for hours. There was a woman who had her minor child transferred WITHOUT THE MOTHER BEING INFORMED about where the child went. The waiting room had vomit bags lying on the ground and used tissue lying around, blankets strewn across chairs. What Cedars Sinai and Providence are doing is foul and revolting and I would tell anyone to go anywhere that doesn't have those two company names attached to it. Save your time, money, and sanity.

Susanna S.

Yelp
If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. Avoid going to the ER here at all costs, if you can go to any other hospital save yourself time and go elsewhere. After my experience today I was traumatized and frustrated and I literally had a panic attack while there. Patients were being treated in the hallways while sitting on chairs, and there were dividers for privacy. It was a shit show. I couldn't eat or drink anything and did not get liquid IV until 5pm, I was there since 10 am.... Absolutely ridiculous. Just the thought of ever going back to Huntington Hospitals ER gives me anxiety. Do better people y'all are making millions off our insurances.

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews, but this is pretty ridiculous. Very poor emergency care service, they ran out of face masks and didnt bother restocking. People are casually walking around and there's not a single ounce of urgency for an emergency room (shocking!) it took very long for us to get seen. after waiting for so long, the doctor came in, asked some questions, and left without saying what the next steps are or what the situation is. we continued to wait not knowing what was going on and again, might i reiterate, not a single ounce of urgency. noone cares! to sum it up TLDR, if ur in an emergency, dont expect emergency attention here. the biggest emergency is the quality of service this hospital provides ‼
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Do not come here for an emergency or if you are in pain. You will wait 8-10 hours without meds or medical attention. The ER is terribly understaffed and simply cannot provide effective treatment.

Yelp
DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR IN VALET, THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOUR CAR. They stole my mom's purse out of her trunk when we used valet for her hospital stay..... Shady valet service..... they stole and used her credit cards also... WATCH OUT!

Yelp
I'd like to give 5 because my specialists are the best . But the E.R. staff is the worst. My advice to others is you better have your insurance proof readily available or they'll treat you very badly. After waiting in her bed for nearly 10 hours a Nurse came in and told my wife point blank: not everyone deserves a pacemaker ". I kid you not that's why I say to have your insurance proof ready to show.

Yelp
No beds in the emergency. Must wait in a chair. Every time I go to the Huntington emergency I wonder why I did not go to another hospital

Yelp
Shocked by the changes at Huntington Hospital after going to the ER with my daughter this weekend (2/1/25). We were greeted by a serious looking security guard who searched our purses, had us walk through a detector, & waved a wand around our body. Then three separate windows to check in. Apparently, each window can only ask for one piece of information. My daughter was very ill, but staff said nothing. It was the security guard that helped us to a seat & got a bag because she was nauseous. Triage, is a chair in the waiting room, two feet from everyone else. No privacy. Then we jumped from one chair to the next. A doctor partially examined her in a chair. The final chair was in a room that was clearly designed for one person, but had a screen between. There was no privacy & I could easily have written down the other patient's name, address, phone, & social security number. We also heard all the details for his visit. I guess there is no longer such a thing as personal health information. There was no door or curtain in front, everyone who walked by looked it. I'm glad my daughter didn't need oxygen, because that was only available on the other side of the screen. The screen was damaged, there was trash in the chair & on the floor, & it was dusty, dirty. We were last there two years ago & she got a bed in a room shared with others, but there was more privacy. The chairs were very uncomfortable & it was the patient next door who told us the chair reclined. Multiple staff in & out & not a concern for her comfort. I asked two staff about the changes & one said the extra security was added when Cedars took over, because that's how they do things there. The other staff member said all hospitals are like this. Huntington is our closest ER & we've been a few times over the years. Huntington was always an excellent & posh hospital. Staff was always top notch smart & kind & professional. Now it feels very minimal, sit patients anywhere, & kind of who cares. On the plus side, my daughter was in & out relatively quickly & she's feeling a little better today with the care she got. The phlebotomist had excellent skills. I think we will try USC in Arcadia next time. Huntington has lost its edge. I'm lucky to have insurance, but my copay (just to go to ER) is $400, labs & doctor will bill separately. It's the beginning of the year, so we still have a deductible to meet & finally, a 30% copay. This visit will easily be at least a $1,000. I just expect more when spending that much money. I want the best for my loved ones & the community.

Yelp
ATTENTION PLEASE: this review is for the food service at pediatric department. My 11 year old son had a surgery 11/26/24. My wife and I stayed one night and one day for my son's recovery. The first night I ordered food for our room I felt I was begging for food. The order taker was yelling when she was taking my order. She got me frustrated. I told her to explained and provide better customer service. The order taker yelled at me and transferred me right away with her supervisor named "Tella" to complaint about her customer service. When I spoke to the food service supervisor named "Tella" made me feel that she is protecting this order taker. I have a feeling that is a family member working together. Please do something about this matter. The food service at the pediatric department is a disservice for parents of their loved ones. My wife & son were so hungry the next day and I had to go and buy food for my wife and son outside the hospital because we did not wanted to order after that.. "Tella" the supervisor needs to be checked to see why is she letting the order taker I reported to her yelled to the customers. We were paying so much money for the food service and this is how you treat us the customers giving you our business? is not fair. The nurses and cleaning crew are wonderful individuals at the pediatric department so But not the food service department. If I ever go back to this hospital I will find out before I order food if there is a new management. Please remember your business is all about good customer service and you have no good service at the Food Service Department at Pediatric Department.

Yelp
Surviving Medical Gaslighting, Forced Medication, and Psychological Manipulation at Huntington Hospital I walked into Huntington Hospital in a state that should have triggered immediate medical intervention. I had a head injury, my nervous system was in full sympathetic overdrive, and my body was shutting down, losing circulation in my fingers, losing vision when standing up, and on the verge of death. Instead of receiving urgent medical care, I was gaslit and dismissed, as if my very real, very physical symptoms were all in my head. From the moment I arrived, the treatment was cold, detached, and disturbingly calculated. Ignored Symptoms & Medical Neglect Head Injury? No Urgency. Despite clear signs of neurological dysfunction, I was brushed off. No real scans, no tests, just blank stares and excuses. Losing Circulation & Vision? "Just Anxiety." I was literally losing blood flow to my extremities, but they kept pushing the "it's psychological" narrative. Nervous System Breakdown? "It's in Your Head." My body was in an extreme fight-or-flight response, but instead of investigating, they tried to make me doubt my own reality. Gaslighting, Forced Medication, and Profiting Off My Suffering They treated my physical distress as a delusion. The more I insisted something was wrong, the more they looked at me like I was the problem. They pushed a purely psychological explanation to avoid responsibility. Instead of admitting they didn't want to deal with my real symptoms, they tried to frame me as mentally unstable. Instead of real treatment, they forced dangerous medication. The drugs they pushed caused severe akathisia, a relentless inner restlessness that led to constant pacing, an uncontrollable racing mind, and overwhelming anxiety. The side effects were worse than my original symptoms. My nervous system was already in distress, and the medication sent it into complete chaos. Rather than listening to me, they insisted I keep taking it, ignoring the fact that it was making everything worse. They refused to prescribe me Ambien, knowing I couldn't sleep without it. My nervous system was stuck in overdrive, and I physically could not sleep without medical intervention. Instead of helping, they sent me home knowing I'd be back in crisis. I kept ending up back at the hospital, only to be gaslit again. It was a deliberate cycle, forcing me into repeated visits while they refused to solve the root problem. It was likely a ploy to keep billing insurance. By keeping me in distress without properly treating me, they ensured that I would return allowing them to milk the system for more money with every new visit. The psychopathic doctors never tried to help, just increased the dosage. The goal was never to find out what was wrong, only to drug me into submission. Every time I resisted, their only solution was to push more medication, as if their primary concern was sedation, not healing. Psychological Manipulation and Symbolism in the Environment Chairs with strange patterns, numbers, and letters, deliberate or coincidental? It felt like an extra layer of gaslighting, as if the very design of the environment was meant to further disorient visitors and reinforce the idea that their perceptions couldn't be trusted. The staff were complete sheep, blindly deferring to the doctors. Not a single nurse or orderly stepped in to help or question the doctors' decisions. They followed orders without hesitation, watching patients suffer while pretending that nothing was wrong. Final Thought This wasn't just medical negligence, it was intentional psychological gaslighting mixed with reckless medication practices, financial exploitation, and environmental manipulation. When someone walks in with a serious head injury and leaves with more trauma, severe medication-induced distress, and a worsened mental state, it's clear the system is built to silence, not to heal.

Yelp
GOOD PLACE TO GO FOR TRAUMA INJURIES ==================================== My husband, his friend and I were out for an e-bike ride and my husband flew by us going too fast as usual. He turned his head to see where we were because his rear view camera is bad. Then he hit a curb and went flying. That's the problem with e-bikes. They can go pretty fast. He refused to go to the hospital by ambulance which is normally the fastest way, but we all know that they charge an arm and leg and insurance barely helps. He could walk and our friend's wife picked my husband and his bike and took him home. I rode my bike back home to get all the insurance cards and ID. Then I drove him to the ER. Sometimes the wait can be long at Emergency Rooms, so people just don't want to go unless they're dying. Especially during the pandemic. The Huntington's ER was really quick since my husband had a possible head injury and broken ribs. That's why they do triage. I know some people complain about the wait, but they do their best to determine who needs to be seen asap. My husband was in a room being seen by a doctor within thirty minutes. They ordered a head to abdomen CT Scan due to the nature of the injuries. He thought he broke his wrist, so he got an x-ray too. He stayed overnight in a private room for pain management and observation. I like how you can order off a menu with all sorts of options. He actually liked the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy. I went to the cafeteria to grab a grilled chicken sandwich and that was good. The doctors, nurses, volunteers and other staff were amazing from beginning to end. The Huntington is a Trauma Center, so I would recommend going there for trauma type injuries as follows: Car crash with severe injuries Traumatic brain injuries Gunshot wounds Stab wounds Severe burns Blunt trauma Serious falls

Yelp
The ER waiting room is one of the nine layers of hell on earth, just right above the DMV. If your reason for visit is not as severe then you'll definitely catch something worst while in the waiting room. Face masks are provided but not enforced. You'll be waiting next to homeless and mentally unstable people. The homeless will get prioritized before you.

Yelp
Calling all Philanthropists in Pasadena! This ER has exceptional care, but the staff's efficacy is undermined by dated and worn facilities. Investment is required to update hallway care with spaced dividers and soft chairs. The stapled hard plastic chairs in close proximity breed infection. The waiting room is similarly in trouble. And not blaming the janitors - cleaning rusted vintage swivel stools and cracked old baseboards must not be easy. I was there for many hours, and had a long time to observe patient flow. The medical staff were amazing. Smiling, friendly, patient, joking, even when people were yelling and crying all around. But the facilities don't help them - they have to shift patients back and forth between makeshift spaces between tests, and back out to the communal waiting room with every plague known to man seated shoulder to shoulder. Also - it makes sense to clearly explain to each patient upon arrival that they can complete registration on their phone using auto saved personal info and not just wait to be called to tap at the one lone ancient tablet in a barren hall which wastes the time of the registration person. If only I had half a million dollars and a job spending it in this place to ask the staff how to support them ! But thank you for the truly excellent care.

Yelp
The billing department is a joke. I paid my bill March 29th with my credit card. And they sent me collection notice 6/7. I spend my whole day to check my credit card transactions to prove that I paid.

Yelp
Emergency Department - Type of care....carefree! Care quality - .hard to say since so little occurred....office experience - not sure, we did not want to interrupt their discussion about their Vegas trip! For such a prestigious facility they sure are lacking in the patient care department. What's so shocking is there seems to be little organization and no real sense of urgency anywhere! My best description would be " a country club attitude ". We should have gone to Arcadia!

Yelp
My baby was born here I haven't been here for 2 years And everything CHANGED Now it looks like you are in The immigration check point from airport So ridiculous.. I came for an emergency holding my toddler and they make me put down my sick baby In a dirty floor, checking my bag, dipper bag .. they prioritize homeless people than people that are really sick and had an extremely emergency. The "security" are so rude The person who's checking in people Are unprofessional and Rude They look at you with a dirty face. They don't sanitize anything ... if you Need to go to an emergency room just stay at home And watch doctors on YouTube take some Tylenol and that's it .. Save 5 hours from your valuable time the only thing that this hospital does is givesyou Tylenol and yup you good to go!!

Roche M.

Yelp
Horrible emergency room service everytime I'm forced to come here we're always waiting 5 plus hours. I had my 1 year old throwing up in their lobby and hallway and they just kept saying they don't have room with absolutely no urgency. They don't give a crap about anybody but themselves. Imagine it was their relatives???

Yelp
We brought mom to get heart procedure done. Since we arrived we were treated with so much kindness and compassion. It seems as those are qualifications you need to work there. She was supposed to be there on my 2 days and ended up staying more, the care and attention from the doctor, anesthesiologist to the nurses was beyond amazing and so much appreciated. I honestly want to say, no one had a bad day when we were there or they are full of compassion. I hope I never have to go to the hospital with mom again, but if needed too,I will definitely pick this place. The hospital service exceeded the expectations, the cleanliness was so comforting and amazing. We been to multiple hospitals and I still can't believe how kind everyone was. Thank you Huntington Health for the great hospitality.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to this place in the last few years, but worse than USC LA County-- the waiting area is full of homeless and the triage areas is a complete chaos. If I could give them negative stars I would.

Yelp
I thought Huntington Hospital was top tier; it didn't take long to see that things have changed. The nurse was triaging in front of everyone!!! Where is the privacy, respect, and compassion?! The waiting room was not empty and there were multiple staff sitting at the desk. It was very inappropriate and I hope she realized it. If asking the chief complaint through a speaker and expecting the patient to broadcast it back to you is the general practice of Huntington ER, they need to change it immediately.

Yelp
Spent 9 hours waiting at the ER. The poor 95 year old lady ahead of us was there even longer and it was her birthday. There were many people debating walking out and just leaving. Definitely very inefficient to say the least.

Lindsey M.

Yelp
I brought my daughter to the emergency room to be treated for ear pain after finding out the nearby urgent care offices were closed for the evening. I was honestly expecting the worst, the ER was packed when we walked in and was very overwhelming. However, we received excellent and quick care. She was in and out in over an hour. Every person we encountered worked efficiently and was kind, caring, and compassionate. They really knew what they were doing. Thank you!

Yelp
Just wanted to acknowledge the outstanding assistance that I received from Sandra in the records dept. She was so professional and very patient with my continuous and changing requests. I appreciate her efficiency and her dedication to making sure I got the correct paperwork. It's rare these days to get good customer service, so I want to make sure that her efforts are acknowledged.
