Absolutely amazing place! Stayed 2 nights for a friends wedding weekend and to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were so warm and welcoming, the restaurant gave off the coziest ambiance and the rooms were such a surprise- the perfect mix of historic Hamptons home and modern touches. My room in particular was facing the Main Street, provided great morning light and all the amenities you could ever want and need right down to the perfect fogless makeup mirror!! I can’t wait to come back. Matthew G went above and beyond to make all our drinks and meals we had excellent. Thank you Christopher and Rosemarie for your hospitality and a big shoutout to Sheila for running such a fantastic hotel. As a hotelier myself, I appreciate when the off season is made just as special as busy season-nothing missed!

Huntting Inn is the perfect place to stay in downtown East Hampton area. The location allows walkability to the downtown shops and it is less that a mile from Maidstone Golf Club (bikes are available). The inn is quaint, quiet, and clean. Recently renovated and decor is adorable and comfortable. It was a great retreat from a long day of golf/shopping. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only place we will stay on a return trip to the area!

This past June we spent several days at this inn. The stay was delightful in every way. The inn is very historic but has been fully updated. It is located at the beginning of the commercial district so easy walking distance to the entire town, Our room was at the front of the inn facing Main St so we expected it might be noisy. Not the case. It was extremely quiet and very well appointed. The AC was extremely quiet as well.||There is a delightful breakfast buffet and very nice bar for pre-dinner drinks. The Palm restaurant is part of the facility and many other dining options are close by.||The staff was extremely helpful from check-in to check-out, Overall it was just a delightful experience. Will definitely return next spring.

It was much nicer than I was expecting. Beautiful and clean rooms. Comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Also comes with the best continental breakfast around. On a side note, I really hope that the weekend brunch gets more love at the Palm. East Hampton really needs to have another great lunch option and the new Palm Brunch delivers that every Saturday and Sunday. Nobody knows about the FANTASTIC weekend brunch because it is not advertised anywhere.

We LOVE the Huntting Inn. It has just been completely redone so it is clean and fresh. It is centrally located. You can walk anywhere you want to go in town or borrow the Inn bikes to go to the beach. The bar is hopping and the restaurant is amazing. The best part of all is the staff. EVERY SINGLE STAFF member is friendly and helpful. We love Carmen who sets up the breakfast buffet every day and also cleans. We also love Sheila. She is the manager and has been working with the Inn for over 30 years. She has made it feel like our home away from home. She is smart, kind, and always helpful. Enjoy your trip to Huntting Inn.

My wife and I had the most marvelous experience at this hotel. Beautiful facilities, spotlessly maintained, outstanding food and beverage facilities, and most gracious and delightful staff in all areas of the hotel. The general manager, Sheila, really contributed to a wonderful stay. I have had the privilege of staying at many world class hotels, and this ranks with the best.

We just spent a wonderful fall weekend in East Hampton. It was made all the more special by the warm and inviting atmosphere created by the entire team at the Huntting Inn. Sheila, in particular, always makes us feel at home- even our dog Cole loves it! Chris at the Palm makes sure we have a delightful meal after the long drive from the city. Thank you so much to everybody at Huntting and we love the refurbishment. We can't wait until our next visit.

Had a lovely Hamptons overnight here. Location is the key. Seriously right in the middle of town and an easy drive to the beaches. Dark, small "lobby", so the main area could use a facelift but the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels provided. Perfect for a girls trip.

Enjoyed a fabulous weekend at the Huntting Inn. Took advantage of a great deal of a quaint room and dinner at The Palm. The rooms are small, very clean and cozy. The front desk staff are very accommodating and helpful. We definitely recommend staying at the The Inn.

Staying at the Huntting Inn was such a treat! I loved the room my bf and I stayed at this weekend. It was everything we needed. The bed was large and the bathroom was especially nice. Perfect room for two people. Another selling point is that there is an awesome restaurant downstairs which is ideal for a nice dinner. There was parking provided and numerous cute shops on the neighboring streets. I'd love to come back and walk around when it's a bit warmer.

Whoa boy ... The Huntting Inn had better watch out, for a while they were the only game in town but all of a sudden, there are lots of new Bed and Breakfasts and Inns popping up in East Hampton and the rooms are a LOT LOT LOT better than what you will find here. The best thing I can say about the Huntting Inn is that they treat you like family here while you are staying. This place is cool because it has a 1920s vibe ... they trust their guests and after around midnight when the staff goes home, it feels like you are walking around in your own house. The fact that you can pretty much walk out the door and in a few steps be in the downtown East Hampton area is unique as well. The decor is charming and the exact opposite of ANYTHING modern. The downside to this place is that it is basically falling apart. To charge $500 -$1,000 per night to stay here on season and $300+ off season is insane. However, in The Hamptons, insanity is common during the season, so people do pay it. The ceilings in many of the rooms have extreme water damage. The bathrooms are so badly in need of an update/maintenece that it's almost worth it to go without showering for a few days and bring a bottle of shampoo to the ocean, instead. The furniture is worn and mis-matched and looks like it could have come from the Salvation Army. The wallpaper ugly. Stress cracks appear on ceilings, walls, etc. The floors sag. The walls are thin and you can hear conversations in the room next door. Footsteps creak in the hallway as if a heard of elephants was charging past your room. The air conditioners look like they are from the Carter administration. However, those who frequent this place put up with all that because it is 'charming' in an old world way. You feel as though you are staying for the Thanksgiving Holiday over a friend or family member's vintage farm house in Bedford, NY vs. at a hotel. Breakfast is included in the rate and is usually pretty good. The best part is the fresh fruit and cream or the scones. You also have an old school bar that looks like something out of a 1920s speakeasy right in the lobby. There's also the world famous Palm Restaurant right next to the lobby ... probably the only Palm in the world like it. Noisy and crowded most nights, the tin ceilings amplify the noise but it usually feels warm and homey. The food is always great ... try the Veal Parm. It is one of the best you'll have. Anywhere else in the United States and this place would be closer to being condemned than it would be to attracting a celebrity. However, given it's location right in the middle of East Hampton ... it will continue to fill at the exorbitant prices. However, now that there are a lot more nearby options, I don't think it will be the first to fill anymore.

Took advantage of the off-season weekend getaway deal, and really had an amazing time! The food at The Palm was great, and the hotel itself is really cool - has a very old-time feel to it. Will definitely be looking to stay here again!

East Hampton Inn originally built in 1699 as a home for Presbyterian Minister Nathaniel Huntting now owned by The Palms since 1980. Old world charm complete w sitting areas, massive stone fireplace, resteraunt w a main dining hall and glassed in veranda and a nicely appointed wooden bar. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, each room equipped with AC. I stayed in a king suite (Rm 1 w King sized bed w fridge/freezer, Full BR w 2nd room w twin bed w twin trundle). Room service available. Staff leave after hours and you're given the key to the Inn. Pricey But worth the experience! Great Service.

The Hungting inn is a very warm and family friendly inn. Palm restaurant which is located in the lower floor I the inn rocks!!! Help is extremely friendly, highly recomend this plac.

Oh My God, this is a Norman Bates Hotel. The Huntting Inn stands in the middle of East Hampton as a seeming stately and genteel jewel. But behind that facade, and starting at $500-$700 a night, is a frayed-carpet, chipped-paint, mildew-smelling, dripping-air conditioner (window unit), relic, which hasn't seen a lick of updating or TLC since at least the 1970s. Perhaps there is no reason to. There aren't many hotels in the Hamptons. So why reinvest when you have a captive audience? Still, this is shocking--and gross.

My favorite place to stay when I'm out east! Every time I'm back I feel like home, very welcoming and cozy, and you can't beat the location

This inn has changed (for the worse)a lot in the last few years. The old staff retired and they hired a few incompetent receptionists who have absolutely no clue about hospitality. They charge a lot for a room which would be all right if it was worth it. They have had a broken dvr box, a broken telephone in the room for years. I stopped complaining about it after a while. If you happen to stay overnight, well don't expect fresh food for breakfast. Everything they have, I mean bread, pastry are all at least 3-4 days old and they don't even care about it. I pointed out several times to the staff but nothing changed. For $400-500 a night in off season I think they should have fresh pastries for breakfast. The Palm is an absolute scene, very noisy. It is an extremely overrated place for what they offer. It is not worth it.

Good location. Rooms are extremely old. Cool to have the bar downstairs. There is no one in the lobby at night. Bartenders were all awesome.

Wow. Where do I even begin? Ok, first I'll start with the positive - this hotel is in a really great location. It is central to the other Hamptons and super close to cute shops, restaurants and beaches. Now, let's move on to the negatives and boy, are there a lot of them. The hotel itself needs a MAJOR update. Old, dark, dingy, musty and dirty all accurately describe this place. The rooms are extremely small (between 150-200 sf) and not comfortable, at all. The mattresses are extremely soft (old), bedding is stained, walls paper thin, bathrooms poorly lit and mildewed. In some of the rooms there is no place to sit besides for the bed. The photos on the Huntting Inn's website do not accurately portray it at all. Upon arrival, I felt as if I had been the victim of a bait and switch. And considering how much they charge per night, I would expect a much higher level of taste and cleanliness. When we asked the concierge if they planned on updating their rooms anytime soon, she replied with, "What do you want me to say?" Okayyyyyyyy. Suffice to say, I will not be staying at the Huntting Inn again, nor would I recommend it to anyone that I know. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to choose from.

Avoid this place!!! I am on the last night of my stay and can't imagine another night in this dump. I will pay another $600+ to stay somewhere else. I have traveled all over the world and have never experienced so many negative and horrible things in one stay. The front desk staff is completely unwelcoming, rude and incompetent. You have to walk through a crowd of people to enter the hotel and check in. the hotel restaurant happens to be right in the middle of the lobby check-in area, whatever you want to call it. The hotel is infested with bugs everywhere, the rooms are completely disgusting and need to be updated immediately. The pictures you see online are completely miss leading. THE ROOMS LOOK NOTHING Like the pics portray. The breakfast in the morning is absolutely disgusting I wouldn't give that to a homeless person. For the amount they charge per night, and the amount they hold on your card at check-in for incidentals, you would think this place would provide at least one positive thing for me to say about my stay. Absolutely horrible needs to be re-staffed and re-done immediately. I could go on forever about many other negative things I experienced at this place but I am going to cut this short and end it with DO NOT stay here you will definitely regret it.

Staff is so friendly and helpful. Bear in mind this is a small inn so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a chain hotel but it's kept up very nicely and super cozy. Bar and restaurant are welcoming and a great place to meet people.

We had a terrific stay at the Hunting Inn. The location is terrific - and in walking distance to everything in East Hampton. The rooms are bright, quaint and perfectly appointed. The staff is unpretentious and wonderful and having the Palm downstairs makes for nice ambiance - as well as a bar (Joe was hilarious). Everyone was helpful, accomodating and friendly - and the chairs, towels and beach passes a bonus. We already booked another stay with our kids and would continue to return.

My fiancee and I have stayed for the last two New Year's and other times during the year and are never disappointed. The service is amazing and the location is great. A wonderful place to stay. Plus having the Palm right downstairs doesn't hurt either!

I had a wonderful stay at the Huntting Inn. The room was clean and bright and the staff was so nice. We traveled with our 6 month old and they were so accommodating -- the crib was set up and ready to go in our room upon arrival. The hotel is also really convenient to town. We also had no problem getting into The Palm restaurant same day. I would absolutely stay there again. Ps, ask for Rose Marie at the front desk... she's so sweet and helpful!

Great B & B in E Hampton. Location is superb, friendly and accomodating staff, rooms were nice and comfortable, Palm for dinner was fantastic, continental breakfast was good and relaxing. Will be heading back again for another stay!

This Inn's website says that there is a two day minimum but when I called for a midweek reservation they allowed me to book for one night. Then they upgraded the room! The room was absolutely lovely, the bed was wonderful, the bathroom very luxurious, and the staff went above and beyond to help us locate beaches, restaurants, etc. They supply the towels, chairs and umbrellas and everything is in excellent condition. We had an exceptional time here and are already planning an off-season return visit. The Palm restaurant is in the same building, which is very convenient.
