Literally one of the best authentic Vietnamese spots in Boston. There’s something about the environment that makes you know the food is gonna slap immediately upon walking in. So many authentic dishes that encapsulate the true essence of Vietnamese cuisine. The Bánh Cành Cua was so flavorful and full of crab meat, pork blood, meat, quail eggs, and such a comforting broth. Came with fried dough sticks too. Such good value too at around $14! The catfish and pork claypot was so addicting and paired so nicely with rice. Some might say it’s too sweat but I personally love it. Please come check this place out!

I travel to differnet cities in America and I always order Bun Bo Hue in each city visited. By far this place has the best Bun Bo Hue I've ever tasted. Great flavor and very authentic!

I’m a first generation American citizen with Vietnamese immigrant parents. Every dish has come out exactly how my family back in VN makes it. Full of flavor - rất là ngon ne mọi người There is a HEFTY amount of protein in every dish and not a crazy amount of noodles or rice like other places do. Nhiêu thịt và vừa vừa bún hoặc cơm. Bún bò Huế - FAMILY FAVORITE Bánh Canh Cua - what I ate last night Hu tiểu nam van BOTH DRY AND WET version (dry version is secret menu item) Phở - better than any other pho places in Dorchester. Trust me. The best part? Reasonably priced and small tight menu. Small menu means their pantry is limited which means it is most likely fresh all the time. Huyết is so fresh there - I hate the taste of old huyết so the fact that I can eat this is proof in the (blood)pudding (pun intended for my bilingual friends out there) And to finish it off? I brought my mother here after and to my surprise the chefs came and recognize my mother. The chef asks about my mom’s MOM. Guys I’m 30 and this older lady recognizes my mom from when she was younger. I guess she has roots in our hometown and she knows my grandma. Small world. But that’s why the food is so good. These are Vietnamese grandmothers bringing the taste of home, here. Your support won’t be be in vain - the food is delicious.

Authentic traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Lots of options for Vietnam food. Portion is decent with the price. Customer service is nice. Cons: difficult to find parking spot during busy time

Google
The restaurant is very clean, and the food was delicious, authentic & very affordable (about $13 an entree). I definitely recommend!

Google
My family and I are regular customers. The food is affordable and always tasty! What makes it even better are the employees; they are always super friendly and welcoming. :) The Bún riêu is my favorite dish here.

Google
I never have a good “Bún Mắm” like this after left Vietnam. The girls are super friendly. The price was super duper reasonable. Make sure you are really hungry to come here because the huge portion they serve…

Google
For a quick late lunch I stopped by Huong Que. It wasn't busy since it was Wednesday, New Year's Day, and 1:30pm. I even found street parking a block away. I ordered the bun bo hue ($14.95) and spring rolls w/shrimp and pork ($5.95). This all arrived within 5 minutes. The bun bo hue had decent portion size and nice springy rice noodles. The funky spiciness that sets it apart from other noodle soups, however, seemed absent. It takes like slightly spicier pho, instead of the robust funky flavor I expected. The spring rolls had decently fresh rice paper and vermicelli. The shrimp also had a nice bite. I'll probably come back and try their pho and seafood. That seems promising.

Yelp
Huong Que = authentic Vietnamese dishes, delicious, and great value, if you're looking to eat classic dishes this is the place. My only complaint here is the street parking (that's alright it's worth it) We ate the dishes as pictured and everything was wonderful - can't name a favorite as they were all great. They were running a special on the crab which was 19.99 and a deal - my baby also enjoyed her pho. Service was quick and ambiance was clean. Solid choice! Big menu with lots of choices for home cooked meals -

Yelp
This place clearly has a lot of Vietnamese clientele, which means you know it's going to be good. The service and ambiance were great. We were surrounded by a lot of Vietnamese people who were all having a good time. We had the bun bo hue and the bun mam dac biet. The portion size for the price was astounding. I couldn't finish my soup and had to take it home. The broths for both dishes were amazing! If you love spicy beefy soups, go for the bun bo hue. If you like fermented seafood broths with a lot of seafood, go for the bun mam dac biet. The quantity of seafood in the latter was astounding. If you love blood cakes, you will get a ton of those in the bun bo hue. All in all, I loved going to this place and would visit again. You should give this place a visit.

Yelp
Boston, MA (Dorchester) - this is in a neighborhood of greater Boston known as Little Saigon so we figured we'd have luck with a Vietnamese restaurant as I had some hankerin' for pho, as always! The menu is authentic and the bowl of pho is decently solid. I ordered the #65 pho dac biet combo special and while it hit the spot, unfortunately the brisket piece was veiny and tough, barely chewable. Wish I had ordered the bun bo hue which you can't get everywhere. The flavors are on point though not next level - as I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pho broth and otherworldly encounters are rare. That said, my family all enjoyed their respective meals, including my MIL who does not have an "exotic" palate but found satisfaction with her beef stew (bò kho). The food took a while to come out though there were three large parties in addition to other customers so the kitchen must've been stretched. Normally I don't complain about long waits especially with a larger party, but it was rather hot inside (climate control broken?) so it was hard to enjoy the experience comfortably. The family that runs the restaurant is very nice though.

Yelp
Ordered the banh can cua and chao long. Both were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely be back

Yelp
Best meal I've had in a long, long time. This place treats their food with true generosity and respect. I ordered the bun rieu, which had such generous amounts of crab, pork, tofu, etc. It's full of every texture with THE RICHEST, SAVORIEST seafood broth. For once i felt like I was eating at home, no skimping on toppings and no shortcuts. Truly just a great experience that hit the spot. My friend got the bun bo hue, which had an equally full bodied broth and generous toppings. The portions were massive, and the hot tea was also excellent. Please give this place a try!

Yelp
Great spot for Vietnamese food. Good portions and good quality. This is an accumulated review for the 3 color rice dish (pork chop, meatloaf, and pork skin. Bo kho with noodles (I don't care to eat it with bread) and hu teau (seafood noodle soup). The portions for the pork chop plate is huge. The pork chop is a good size, grilled perfectly. The pork skin is solid, but the meatloaf is bomb. I never cared for it, but I actually liked it more than the pork chop(which is my favorite part of the dish). The Bo kho was fine, nothing write home about. I wouldn't revisit the dish but the seafood noodle (hu teau) was great. The broth was light and flavorful and the seafood was fresh. The thing that put it over the top for me was the shrimp cake. It tasted homemade because you could taste the white pepper clearly. I will order that next time I'm back!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is perfect for when you want Vietnamese food with a reasonable price and quick. The restaurant looks simple inside, not very instagram aesthetic. When we dine here, there is only one server, but she makes sure that we are well taken care of. The food is tasty and big portion, I would recommend rice noodle beef stew since the broth super strong in flavor.

Yelp
Omg! Great food at excellent prices! Everything I've ordered from here is 10/10. I keep coming back because the food is so excellent and low priced, even if it should probably branch out. It would be nice if their takeout orders came in take out bowls so that you don't have to jam you noodles in the tiny broth container, but it is an inconvenience I'm willing to deal with!

Yelp
permanently closed. Went today in person to order and they have been shut down ......,,.,,,.,,,,...........

Yelp
This was my first time trying bun mam. The roast pork was on the salty side but it paired well with the light seafood broth. Not mind blowing but pretty standard Vietnamese noodle soup! I would come back to try the bun rieu. The restaurant has quite a bit of seating, and it was pretty empty for a Friday dinner. Our waiter was extremely friendly and nice.

Yelp
I got the lemongrass beef banh mi here. It was humongous for the price I've paid ($8). Definitely worth it for a quick grab on the go thats packed with protein and flavors. The flavor is well balanced and bread is nicely toasted. It's a small store and there's no indoor seatings. Staff were friendly and prepared my order within 5-10 minutes. Food: 9/10 Value: 9.5/10 Experience: 9/10 Service: 9/10

Yelp
I've been craving Canh Bun and this cozy restaurant has that noodle soup. They weren't cheap with Morning Glory (rau muong). Broth was mild, I like to put fermented fish paste in the broth. I always have to order another order to bring home since it's a hike to get there from where I live. The staff were nice and prompt. It wasn't pack during lunch time on a Tuesday so I got very attentive staff. I will give other dishes a try next time I'm in town again.

Yelp
The menu is extensive and we were a party of three, so were able to try several items. The spring rolls were good and packed with vegetables, pork, and shrimp. Unfortunately, there was only peanut sauce to accompany them. The wonton soup was bland. The bun dishes were large and standard. My dish of tofu with lemongrass was basically inedible and I gave up trying. The tofu was so fried and tough it was almost impossible to bite into a piece. The dish was swimming in oil and was so salty and peppery I couldn't taste the lemongrass. I requested less milk in my Thai iced tea, but it came with the same amount as the others. It was so sweet I couldn't finish it--the first time that has ever happened. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Highlighting another Vietnamese spot in Dorchester- this place serves a variety of different Vietnamese dishes, particularly lots of soup stuff. We were greeted with big smiles and good energy from the workers and the food came QUICK. My sister and I got the Bun Bo Hue and the Canh Bun. We took some home to go because it was a huge amount (for $14.95 each!!), and my mom said she liked the BBH, and the Canh Bun wasn't her favorite LOL. In my opinion, I thought it was great and it was loaded with lots of different meats, but she was saying how Canh Bun doesn't normally have tomatoes and that Bun Rieu does (a very similar dish). Aside from that, I honestly thought it was really good and I loved the fermented shrimp paste to it for the extra umami flavor. Great portions, nice people, and hearty food!

Graham K.

Yelp
Excellent food at a reasonable price, flavorful and fresh. Good service, and alright ambiance.

Yelp
Every time I come to Boston, I have to hit a Vietnamese restaurant because they often have my favorite soup, Hủ Tiếu, which I cannot get in New York. The version here at Huong Que was very flavorful and just what I needed. My buddy had bún riêu, which was new to me but very robust. The service was very friendly and quick.
google avatar

P N.

Yelp
Good food and very clean restaurant!!! The piece of pork feet in the Bun Riêu needed a longer cook to be softer. The egg cake in the rice plate was dry. The Hu Tieu was excellent!!!

Melissa M.

Yelp
The caramelized pork, rare beef pho, pork spring rolls, and scallion pancake were great! Super nice people too
google avatar

Yelp
Cute new place close to Fields Corner. We were the only ones there at first on a Sunday night, so it was a little awkward at first. But we started with spring rolls, which were delicious, I definitely wanted more than just 2! The food came out quickly. I had chicken pho and my friend had a vermicelli bowl. Both were solid, nothing out of the ordinary for pho places in the area. This place did have live seafood behind us (neither of us like seafood though), so I am guessing that seafood would be superb here. We will be back for the spring rolls and solid Vietnamese food!

Yelp
I was going to rate this place 3 stars but so had to drop it to two stars Why ? Food quality and service. They were nice enough but not very attentive. My family and I went there last night. I ordered the first item under the pho page in the menu. It wasn't great. The soup was barely warm. The sprouts and herbs were wet. They couldn't be bothered to spin it dry before serving. The herbs were not tender at all It's like they chose the oldest stalks to serve. The brisket was so overcooked I almost choked. Their steamed chicken was meh. They barely chopped it. We had to whip out a plastic knife to cut it apart ourselves. The worst thing about the steamed chicken were the feathers. I can over look a couple of feathers but this chicken was full of feathers. Clearly, they don't clean the chicken before serving. Which makes me wonder what else they don't clean in the kitchen. Service was slow as there was only one server. She had us, another table, and a large party. I felt bad for her. When it came time to pay, we asked for the bill but she never returned to take my credit card. We didn't feel like waiting so we gathered all of our cash and left. Not sure I will return. Thinking about this, and we definitely over tipped her. I do not recommend.

Yelp
Great place in Dorchester. Clean and great food and hard to find Pho such as Bun Mam which was excellent. The Bun Bo Hue is probably the best I've had in MA. They serve it with pork knuckles and pork blood which many other places no longer use. Looking forward to try their other pho in the future.

Laura L.

Yelp
My family and I are regular customers. The food is affordable and always tasty! What makes it even better are the employees; they are always super friendly and welcoming. :) The Bún riêu is my favorite dish here.

Yelp
Everytime I travel I always want to try vietnamese food the first time in Boston Saw reviews on yelp and I decided to come here "Bun mam" so good... If my belly have more room i want to try bún riêu here too ... Finally lunch and the best vietnam restaurant i have been try so i will come back here when i travel Boston again

Yelp
Wowwwwwwwww! Just so so good. I am Vietnamese, so usually Viet restaurants can never hit compared to home cooked meals, but this place was amazing! Tasted just like home, I 100% recommend. Our food came out very fast too, and the staff were so friendly. Come here for the best Vietnamese food in Boston
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
I just ordered the bunmam there and I haven't tried yet. But, what brought me to Yelp is the staff and his friendliness . His tone on the phone when I called in, the way he greeted were all enough to earn the customers' satisfaction. Even if the food does not meet my expectation, so what? Everyone is different and I do not usually criticize people' work unless their customer skills suck ! Thank you for your service
google avatar

Devin W.

Yelp
I have been to this place enough time, and tried enough dishes to give a proper accurate review. Cleanliness is WOW! for a Vietnamese restaurant, lol. The Canh Bun is on point! They are not cheap with the fresh side veggies. The other dishes are good as well. Most of all, the service from the young gentleman is superb. Of course, he is the owner's son, but still impressive. He is the reason that I am impelled to give this review. This may be my go-to Vietnamese restaurant from now on.
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
Was here with my father for lunch and like it!! Very clean place. Good menu selections and good service. Food came out quickly and price is very fair too!! We catered here before and it was good but this is my first time dine in experience. Definitely will come back here again
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Service was great. The place was clean. The foods tasted very good. I am pleased with everything. Will come back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
My takeaway was the food tasted very fresh, especially the noddles in the bun. The service was slow but I feel that seems to be everywhere now.
google avatar

Steph J.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch. Hot soup on a cold day is just the best idea. I ordered the Vietnamese special noodle soups - it was a crab based broth, so it was different than what I usually order. It was good, but not sure I'd want to order it again. My hubs ordered pho tai and I'm not sure he loved it. He said the broth was a lot beefier than others we've had. I had a taste and agreed. I think it depends on what you like, but I think the flavor balance was off for me. Also, service seemed slow. We got all of the food we ordered minus my dish....and I waited a while before it showed up. Meanwhile the table next to us who sat down a bit after we did already got all their entrees. I was slightly annoyed. Likely not to return since it's not convenient to us.

Yelp
I'm glad I was able to tried this place on a good hangover day. The right cure for my headache . The rice congee are filled with all the right meats and ingredients. The fermented soup (bun mam) was one of the best all around in Boston. I don't think there's any other place that make it as good as this place. Their coffee was also great and the young waiter was pretty nice. We really enjoyed out lunch here and will definitely return to try other items.

StriperGu Y.

Yelp
Sadly, pretty much the entire meal was forgettable. The broth in the Pho was just OK. The Longleaf cilantro was not fresh and the basil was barely OK. The only thing that was really nice was the crispy fried spring rolls. The grilled pork over rice noodles was nearly flavorless. Another noodle dish was also just forgettable. The lotus shoot salad with shrimp was a soggy mess, lacking in flavor. Boston used to really have superb Vietnamese food... What happened? I so desperately wanted to like this place, the employees were very sweet and the service was excellent. Sadly, the food was just a miss, across-the-board.

Yelp
One of the best Vietnamese places in Massachusetts, or even the US. Coming here I didn't expect a lot. But we ordered Bun Bo Hue and Bun Mam, and let me tell you, it is one of the most authentic dishes we've ever had in the US. The Bun Mam is so flavorful and full of vegetables. I love the pieces of Pork Belly they have in there, nice and crispy. And let me tell you, the Bun Bo Hue is legit! Every components in the bowl is nicely prepared. And it comes so well together. The service is EXTREMELY nice. The owner came and checked frequently which is really nice. Overall, a very nice Viet place to eat. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

D H.

Yelp
My family and I go here often for authentic dishes that aren't found typically in other Vietnamese restaurants. We love the seafood dishes, and my daughters enjoy the quail and hot pot options. Also always awesome service!

Ed M.

Yelp
Tasty, hot, wholesome food! The people aim to be friendly. There are 10-15 tables. And for take out, park beside the building.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Bún Mắm (fermented soup) and Bún Bò Huế (Spicy beef soup) in Boston. My mission in life is to find the best Bun Bo Hue wherever I go / live. I've tried the BBH from all the restaurants in Boston and here... ladies and gents... have the BEST BUN BO HUE. BUN BO HUE FOR LIFEEEEEE
google avatar

Qme L.

Yelp
Our usual go to restaurant in Dorchester for Vietnamese is Anh Hong, but on this recent trip we noticed this shop and decided to give it a try. I can't speak to the pho, but we ordered a rice plate and vermicelli bowl for take out. We got Bun Tom Thit Nuong and Com Suon Bi. My husband said his pork chop was tender and delicious. My vermicelli dish had fresh veggies and the pork was flavorful as well. The take out comes in square styrofoam containers. Good portion sizes with similar price points to other places in the area. Looking forward to trying their pho next time.

Thu-Oanh D.

Yelp
Great food! Clean and spacious restaurant. Great service! Very authentic and delicious food.

Yelp
Best bun mam I've had in a while and all the herbs were legit for the dish. Can't wait to go back and try the bun rieu

Jessica T.

Yelp
This place is solid. mom and pop shop, service is friendly and good food. Ordered the bun Bo hue and the crab tomatoe soup. Hard to find anything to complain about.

Yelp
I live in Connecticut but occasionally Im still willing to take a long ride here just to get some food for my house. Our family like to order tomyum hotpot and fish clay pot here. They have original Vietnamese taste, fresh and consistent. Also, Quick and good service has never turned me down. Please keep up the good work.
google avatar

Kiki L.

Yelp
This is my new favorite Vietnamese spot in MA to go to. Their bun mam is superb and bun bo hue is also good, they're not cheap at all with the meats/seafood and fresh side veggies. I've ate here 3/4 times and have found myself craving for their bun mam! Highly recommend!

Tra N.

Yelp
I kept coming back to this place for their heavenly Bun Bo Hue, Canh Bun, and Bun Rieu - not to mention the family style Canh Ca Bong Lau (fish soup) and caramelized fish are 100% worth trying as well. I don't understand why this place never seemed crowded when I came, but trust me you HAVE TO try their menu, especially Bun Bo Hue and Canh Bun. They are 10/10. The restaurant is really clean and neat. Service is also 10/10. Literally one of my most favorite spots in Dorchester!
google avatar

Brandon T.

Yelp
So yummy. Bo luc lac, canh chua, and ca kho was cooked amazingly and seasoned beautifully. Definitely a go-to spot for family style dinners.

Tommy T.

Yelp
Actually didn't have much expectation here, but I was proven wrong. Bun mam , and Hu tieu here is much better then other restaurants ! Definitely worth
google avatar

Heidi L.

Yelp
Very clean restaurant. Food was great, ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it tasted so good. My husband ordered a vermicelli bowl and it was a huge bowl. My kids also loved the pho there as well. Very tasty food. Would definitely go back there and recommend to friends.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant just opened a week ago. The place looks clean , the waitstaff were very friendly. Even the owner came out to ask for opinions. This is a good sign for a new restaurant. Consider the location, the environment is a class above the area. For people that prioritized cleanliness & friendliness as this place is definitely the place to go. As for the food, they are good enough for the first impression. It's definitely a good alternative. I had the Pho DB, and both types of spring rolls but I would try something else when I come back again (Yes, definitely will come back)
