Where to Eat Near Portland International Jetport (PWM)

"Huong Le’s first pho restaurant, which closed years ago, was well loved. Her second restaurant, with help in the kitchen from her daughter, has rekindled that passion. A hearty bowl of noodle soup will get flyers through a connecting flight or two, while the rest of the menu includes Vietnamese classics like banh mi, vermicelli bowls, and curries." - Kate McCarty

I came here with my wife, She got the chicken pho and I got the chicken drunken noddles. We both loved the meal, Calm atmosphere and best servers. I recommend the thai tea aswell!

Google
I got recommended this place by a friend and let me tell you it’s a GEM. Not only was this the best Vietnamese place, but it was the best food I’ve had for so long. Fast service, PERFECTLY seasoned, just the right portions, and the owner was so kind. I will definitely be coming back

Google
Wanted to like this place since I had gotten a couple good reviews from coworkers. We both got the rare steak and well done flank pho and a limeade. The best thing about the meal was the limeade. The pho for delivery is $15. Tried to take a pic of the noodles and meat. The meat amount was alright. However they skimp super hard on the noodles which are the cheapest ingredient. Very weird. The broth tastes like water down beef broth. I didn’t get any flavor from spices. Not sure they even used any spices. New to the area, so I’m still on the search for a good pho spot.

Google
We ordered takeaway for a beef banh mi sandwich and pho meatball and rare beef, both were excellent! The sandwich was on a flaky subway type roll and was spicy with fresh sliced green peppers, and great beef flavors. My wife loved her pho too. Thank you, will be back!

Google
Food is great, however their coffee boba is like drinking black ice coffee. It’s good but if you don’t like black, sugar-less coffee you won’t enjoy it. If you DO like black coffee it’s great tho!

Google
Fast and friendly service - I order weekly and the quality of pho is always consistent. Love the Thai iced tea, too.

Visited here with my family during our little trip to Maine from Mass. Attentive and friendly employees. Food was delicious and would definitely come here again.

Google
I usually love this restaurant as their food is great, but I just ordered take out and I found a caterpillar in my pho…. They wouldn’t give me a refund either.

Yelp
They were not busy at all when I walked in, I was seated quickly and the host was back shortly to take my order. Food and drinks were brought out after a reasonably short time and everything was as expected, pho broth was rich and silky and the noodles and meats were cooked to perfection. I will certainly be back.

Yelp
We enjoyed the food we ordered. The service was quick and the vibe was quiet and relaxing. Food: I had a combination of Shrimp and Calamari with veggies and a side of rice. It was a delicious meal. The strawberry shake was amazing! I would love to have it again. My husband had a pho with beef. He enjoyed it. The broth was really good. Overall, the experience and food were amazing. I would go back.

Yelp
Well my family and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm and the restaurant was completely empty without a worker in sight. We stood there, even called out to see if they didn't hear us enter and.. nothing. Another customer came in behind us. We stood together looking at a completely empty restaurant which was open. So we walked out.

Yelp
I've eaten here so often in the past and it has always been good. Today we had chicken dumplings, wonton soup, tofu triangles, and teriyaki skewers, all of which were fine. But the pho -- the extra large house pho, P1, was exquisite. Just otherworldly. I'm very picky about my pho. They make it with the usual beef and sausagey hemispheres, but I especially like that they use tripe and tendon. The jalapeño was spicy. I was transported away from the slushy streets of Portland. I split it with my wife but there was plenty for both of us!! If you haven't been before, or recently, come on back. I will sleep like an incredibly satisfied baby tonight.

Yelp
The kingdom has fallen--what was once my absolute favorite authentic Vietnamese restaurant crumbled into something pseudo Asian. The broths, marinades, sauces are all weak representations of once exceptional Vietnamese street food. Time to find an alternative. Sad.

Yelp
Tasty Vietnamese food in Portland. The pho is delicious with a flavorful broth. I ordered the P5 which is a large bowl with cuts of beef flank and meatballs. They were a little skimpy on the meat, but the cuts of meat were very tender. We ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer. The menu said 6 wings per order for $11. When the wings arrived at our table there were only 4 wings on the plate. Our server Dan realized the discrepancy and checked with the chef. The chef said the price of poultry went up, now it's 4 wings for $11. Dan was able to convince the chef to fry up 2 more. Dan was Awesome and was able to resolve the "Missing chicken wing fiasco" and when the other bowl of pho came out, it was missing the raw cuts of beef. Dan also rectified that issue with the chef as well. Sorry Dan for giving you so much pressure, but thank you for being such an Excellent human being and server. The Pho is worth the trip if you're in the area

Yelp
Was craving Pho during a recent vacation in Portland, ME. I found Huong's using Yelp - it was a cold, rainy evening when I arrived. After being seated, I selected what I always crave - Pho Ga. I started with some Summer rolls - with shrimp. They were fresh and tasty. The Pho Ga was not bad - but the chicken broth was to light - it had very little flavor. So, I added everything on the adornments plate - as well as a good bit of Sriracha sauce to the broth - and to individual bites. Service was good. #HuongsVietnameseRestaurant

Yelp
This hidden gem has the best wonton soup I've ever had. Their food is loaded with flavor and super umami. There is a huge variety on their menu that gives so many options if you're not sure what to order. We love their Thai tea and Ba Minh sandwiches. If you're looking for something to warm your belly with large portions at a great price then this is your place.

Yelp
Ended up forgetting my credit card here last night and went back for it... and got a banh mi with pork sausage. It was delicious. There's no other words for it. Just goddamn delicious. Probably the best banh mi I've had in Portland.

Yelp
I have no clue how this place has such high ratings but calling this Vietnamese food is a disgrace. Growing up, pho was a staple in my household. I know what it's supposed to taste like and I know when it's good versus when it's bad. THIS. AIN'T. IT. When I first walked in, I was immediately taken aback by the lack of social distancing. Tables were filled with people back to back. There were at least 10 people waiting for their takeout who were on top of each other. We were not greeted during our whole time here. To be honest, we should've left but we were hungry and nothing was open on Thanksgiving night. Eventually, I just got up and ordered our food. It sounds pretty bad so far, but this isn't even the climax. The pho was absolutely disgusting. It's not even pho. The broth was bland and tasted like water. The chicken tasted old and like rubber. The noodles were hard. I paid $24 for two bowls of "pho." I wish I starved to be honest because this was disgusting. We asked for water twice and the woman brought the water when we were about to get up and leave. This place is an absolute no-no. Worst dining experiencing and food I've had in my entire life. I felt like I got COVID here just by how gross everything was- no social distancing, nasty food, bad service.

Yelp
Rude older VN male server who tried to tell me that people don't eat the pork rice dish (com suong cha) with siracha. Food packaged with very little care and even forgot my cha for the rice entree. The grilled pork Banh mi is served on days-old bread. So old you can taste the staleness in your mouth. Overall quality and care are lacking. I like to support small local businesses, but this is one where it is not an authentic representation of VN food nor is worth your money. Go somewhere else unless there is new management and chefs.

Yelp
As a life long pho lover, I just want to be honest and say that this is not pho. It's more like an instant pho. We arrived for dinner around 7:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening. There aren't much parking and try not to park across the street. Supposedly, your car could be tolled. When we arrived, the waitress just looked at us. We weren't sure if we were supposed to sit down or not. We then were told that we could only sit on a specific side. We ordered the special pho and it came out within 5-minutes. I took a sip of the pho broth and instantly knew it was not going to be a good experience. The broth tasted like instant pho broth. It tasted really artificial. The meat wasn't that good either. There also weren't enough noodles. I honestly just picked around my pho. It's not pho, I know what legit pho taste like but I guess this considered "passing" for Portland. Overall, customer service was ok. The waitress never came by again. The best thing about this meal was the water. I'm not even joking. They had delicious water.

Yelp
Went on a family trip to South Portland Maine. My parents wanted Pho, since we ate nothing but lobster rolls. I looked at the reviews and saw this place with 4 stars. I should have seen and trusted the most recent reviews. We had a party of 8, so I get it we had a big party for in a small space. The server was new and she looked a little flustered. She was nice and I felt bad for her because she was alone. We saw an older women stroll in after we placed our order. She proceeded to pester the server. I assumed she was the owner. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. We didn't get our smoothies until after we ate our food. They messed up my brothers order 3 times. The food was not good at all. The pho had no taste and the drunken noodles was way to sweet. The egg rolls tasted like it was sitting out of the fridge and was starting to spoil. To end the worst dinner ever, the older lady kept screaming at the server. To the point that she walked out of the restaurant. When we paid, she had the audacity to tell us that we have to give 15% tip. We have her the bill and placed the tip on the table. She wanted us to give her the tip. We said yes it's on the TABLE! Overall bad food and bad experience. Do not go there.

Yelp
Solid food and pretty quick service! Definitely an underrated spot. Will come again when in town

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch one day, in the late afternoon. It wasn't busy, but service was very slow, I waited much longer than usual for pho. The pho was also not that great. The broth wasn't as flavorful as other broths I've had. Prob wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Johnny Y.

Yelp
It's hard to judge a true pho for takeout unless you're west coast. But I can't be bias. A little confuse why we didn't seem to get enough broth... I know if you were to put the noodles in. It will overflow. Granted but There's a lot of new packaging that can resolve that issue. Overall the pho broth wasn't too bad. Nothing out of the ordinary. The Banh Mi was a bit of a kicker. Not much filling and more so of pate and bread. They are currently serving inside dinning. Can't say much of this spot other then it was "meh".

Yelp
Who knew there was an authentic Vietnamese restaurant near downtown Portland? Huong's is outside the main touristy areas, but still walking distance from attractions, and it's got that classic Vietnamese feel that is refreshing in a city full of trendy hipster restaurants. The atmosphere is nothing to rave about, but I liked the simplicity and it was very clean inside. All the food we ordered was great, and in a group of 8, we were all happy with our meals. I got the bun dac biet as it was a hot day and ended up with a massive bowl full of vermicelli, delicious grilled pork, egg roll, and shredded pork skin. Despite all the meat, it felt light and refreshing. It was a very good bun. My husband got a pan-fried noodle dish that he wasn't crazy about but is willing to come back to try something else, as he may have just ordered the wrong thing. Other people at my table ordered pho, spring rolls, and banh mi and were very happy. My sister-in-law even came back a couple of times afterwards for more banh mi while in town. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Portland and are craving something different and authentic.

Yelp
Whoa. Impressed by their specials! Honestly, never had bun moc so nothing to compare it to, but god damn the broth was so good! So much meat and loved the round noodles! I always order a noodle bowl or pho ga so I'm ECSTATIC they have pork options since I don't eat beef. This or the banh canh (next thing I want to try!) is on my list. Pho tai- the broth was a bit sweet for me. It confused me a bit, and it was almost a floral flavor so maybe the clove/cinnamon/star anise spice blend is not what I'm used to. Every family does do it differently. No worries I'm sure we will adjust! Lots of noodles and meat! Very impressed with the portion to price. LOVED that it was steaming hot coming out so that the beef we ordered on the side could be cooked to temperature. Egg rolls were fine. Not made wrapped/ with the rice paper I'm used to so it lacked the extra crunch and chew. Nuoc Cham is on point! Perfect balance of flavors. Beef banh mi- hello! Look at all that meat. Got the stamp of approval by my counterpart. The seasonings is on point and good veggies and the correct bread! Crispy, chewy and airy. Cold cut banh mi- okay so I'm suppppperr picky about my cold cut banh mi. Have had a lot, and this one was just not the tastiest one I've had in the Maine/nh region. The mayo lacked flavor as did the pate. It could definitely use a bit more seasoning. Okay amount of meat, but for price it was perfection. You found a fan in me!

Yelp
This place stinks. The pho was so flavorless and was just so plain. The pork chops wasn't pork chops it was awful. Idk why this has such high ratings??? Beyond confused.

Yelp
First time here, tried the oxtail pho, the broth was very flavorful as well as their bun bo. They also have really good cream cheese rangoons that have delicious housemade filling. Most of what we ordered was so good but I think these dishes stood out the most. Their Vietnamese coffee is also made not too sweet which is what I really like because a lot of places make it too sweet for my taste. If you want to try authentic Vietnamese food and drinks this place is a must try! I will definitely come by again whenever I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
We got the pho, bahn mi, egg soda, and fried ice cream. That bahn mi was pretty good, I've had better in town but I was happy with it. The pho was great, I appreciated how they packaged it for takeout with the noodles and broth separate, and with the veggies in a baggie to the side. The egg soda we got just to try and it tasted like bisquick - I don't know what it's supposed to taste like so I can't be the judge on that haha. The fried ice cream was great. A good Vietnamese spot in town that has a good variety, as opposed to the places that just have bahn mi or pho as their specialty!

Yelp
We landed in Portland, Maine and hadn't had pho in well over a year so we decided to find a place on yelp and decided on this place. We had the fresh spring roll with shrimp (aka summer rolls) and that was really good. It was nice and fresh and taste just like what I had when I was younger. I've been so accustomed to pho from Hawaii so I had high expectations to begin with. Every single place with pho gets compared to pho from Hawaii. The broth here is just a bit sweeter and not as salty as I would like but it was still delicious. The noodles itself were well cooked, not over done or soggy. They were just right. And the portions were well worth the price we paid. I can definitely say that this place was a great choice to have some pho. As of right now, I dont think Portland's food will let me down... especially since we're stationed in Minot, ND and there is nothing to eat up there at all. We went there at around 3:30 in the afternoon and 8t wasnt busy so our food came out pretty quickly. Our server was really sweet as well, she made sure we were doing fine and was quick to refill our water. She was very attentive to our needs.

Yelp
First off, you need to apparently call ahead if your have a party of 6 or more even though they had loads of empty tables. We waited about 30 min for our good. We ordered the pork chop, vermicelli salad and pho. They have good pork chops with large meat. The rice is a bit too dry. Probably explained why they provide a side of small broth. They vermicelli salad was not bad. It has mixed chopped vegetables and noodles. The Pho on the other hand was not good. It was way too sweet! Almost like drinking sugar. It didn't have any of the dry spices scent or taste. Will NOT order pho again and probably won't be back again. It's a bit disappointing actually. Not the friendliest staff either. The waiter had an at an attitude.

Yelp
We came during COVID and after feasting on seafood, we undeniably miss Asian food especially Pho during our chili days in Maine. Found this gem on the other side of Portland and decided to give it a try. Although, it wasn't packed, the man provided good service. Give this spot a try. Tucked away in Portland Maine.

Yelp
Really good food and great service. We ordered egg rolls, meatball pho, beef teriyaki and smoothie. All taste great! People are also very nice to our kids. They even waited for us when we came in to the restaurant late in the evening. 100% recommended!
google avatar

Sophanna I.

Yelp
Highly recommended! A friend recommended this place and let me tell you that I'm not disappointed Oxtail Pho - flavors so fresh & earthy, they're not cheap on the meat either. We ordered another one during our meal Crab Rangoon - creamy and meaty, tasting of nostalgia (the ones you eat growing up) Salty Fish Fried Rice - if you love savory like I do then this is the dish for you! I usually add extra flavors (Sriracha & Hoisin) to my fried rice but with my first bite I didn't need too Service - very attentive, always checking back on us at all right times All in all, If I live in the area I'll be a regular for sure! This place will be at the top of my list whenever I'm in town. I wished to try other dishes but of course couldn't fit any more. I'm pretty sure there's other hidden gems in the menu that I would love to come back and try. I walked out of this place really happy and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Pho pho pho pho pho everybody! This not so little restaurant serves some amazing Vietnamese food. We came here for pho because it was cold outside and what a better way to deal with it. For appetizers we had the teriyaki chicken satay. Not the best as the chicken was dry and tasteless but the sweet chilli sauce made it better. Now for the main event, pho. The broth is really tasty, not salty or too sweet just right. We always order the house pho which has steak and meatballs. Those meatballs are amazing. Definitely one of the best in town.
google avatar

Brigett R.

Yelp
Avoid, not worth the one star review. The Pho is dishwater - the aroma is nonexistent and the color is pale yellow, not authentic - they do not know how to make pho broth, it's embarrassing.

Danny D.

Yelp
Quick service and friendly staff. Food came out fast. Authentic pho.

D B.

Yelp
Fantastic food. The Bahn Mi's are the best in Portland - many options, my favorite is the shrimp. They also have really good specials. The owner is the friendliest around. Do yourself the favor and go try them!

Yelp
I only get doordash from here but they are amazing! I get the chicken pho like everyday and their smoothies are great! I highly recommend

Yelp
Personal experience with waitress/hostess: Was seated by the young blonde lady with a nose ring. In our personal opinion, she was a little rude (and seemed very cold to everyone else coming in after us). Didn't get a smile or a "good afternoon" on the way in. Upon ordering, I pointed to the picture with egg rolls and asked, "are these PORK egg rolls?" She responded, "yeah... those are egg rolls", as if I didn't know what egg rolls were, and also didn't answer my wuesrion. Overall, the whole meal - no greetings, no thank yous, no your welcomes. Just want to say: A smile goes a long way, even if it was just one. Food: -Pork egg rolls: good, nice flavors, well packed with meat; best dish out of our whole meal. -Vermicelli house special: 1 small piece of pork (very dry), 1 egg roll (different from the appetizer, not much meat packed into it), some shredded Vietnamese ham?, and a LOT of noodles. -Pho Dac Biet: meat to noodle ratio was less than average (I was able to count 4 total pieces of meat with 1 whole meatball, and some shredded tripes). Flavor: on the sweeter side. Overall an okay bowl of pho. Parking: street parking was no problem for us; however, we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. PS: didn't get the cute little candies with our check as people have reviewed.

Lynne H.

Yelp
The gentleman that was working was very nice. We got crab Rangoon's which were basically in edible. We also got a barbecue pork bánh mì and the roll that it was on had seen better days stale and flaky. The Pho that we received was OK we were able to eat that all in all unfortunately the quality was not there.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
Great pho at reasonable prices. I definitely feel it's the most authentic pho I've tried in Portland so far. The broth is nice and the herbs they served were fresh. I thought the broth read a little on the sweeter side but could be offset by adding the hot pepper sauce. Tough place to get a good parking spot. Very nice service and I'll definitively be back.

Yelp
Huong's is a fantastic, family run Vietnamese restaurant that is great place to go for delicious, fairly priced food with great service. It's located just down the hill from Maine Medical or across the street from the Dollar Store (I always park in this lot and just walk across the street). You will usually find many Vietnamese and/or Asian families eating here, which is a great sign. They have specials on Fridays and the weekends so check those out when you go. My favorite is the Bo Kho (beef stew), but the Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup) is great too. You can't go wrong with the normal items either. The Pho has great flavor and they give you a lot (at least if you get the large house special), the rice plates with the baked egg and pork chop is delish, and the noodle bowl with the salad on the bottom is nice and refreshing. You can also wash your meal down with an Asian beer or boba smoothie (they use fresh ingredients and no powder, get the avocado and you'll be very happy). I can't recommend this place enough, and it's a great restaurant even compared to my hometown spots in the SGV. Go visit this place!

Yelp
The BEST Vietnamese food in Portland! It took me a whole year to find this place since it's kind of tucked away on St. John - like a hidden gem! I've enjoyed the majority of the items I've tried here. Oh Huong's, why did it take me a whole year to find you??? M04 Banh Canh Tom Heo/ Round Rice Noodle Soup w/ Shrimp and Pork ($9.95) - my absolute favorite! The rice noodles are similar to udon in a pork based soup with extremely tender sliced pork, pork knuckles, sliced Vietnamese pork roll and large de-shelled, de-veined shrimp. It's topped with cilantro, fried onions/shallots and other goodies I can't fully remember. (I usually order it without the pork knuckles since I've never been a fan of it). The broth is absolutely flavorful - it's even better than the banh canh I've had back in SoCal! C04 Com suon bi cha/ Pork Chop (w/ rice) Combination ($10.95) - We call this "Broken Rice" in SoCal. I didn't think any restaurant in Portland has this dish anymore! The rice dish comes with a cut of meatloaf that is very we'll seasoned, char-grilled pork chop to perfection, shredded pork, a side of lettuce/cucumbers/tomatoes and fish sauce. I personally don't think the fish sauce is overpowering at all - so don't be afraid to order this dish! P05 Pho Tai Bo Vien / Pho w/ Rare Steak and Meatballs ($7.95) - the best pho in Portland! I've tried quite a few Vietnamese restaurants in search of a hearty bowl of soup for a cold winter night. They've done it again with the FLAVOR! It warms my belly and puts a smile on my face. Get your pho fixing' especially to cure those awful hangovers ;) M13 Mi Xao Don Thap Cam / House Combination Crispy Lo Mein ($10.95) - good dish but not my favorite. The noodles are indeed very crispy and is balanced nicely with the sauce, meat and veggies (bell peppers, carrots, broccoli and onions). They have 'specials' that they serve on weekends that I highly recommend: - Bun Bo Hue (thick rice noodles Hue style soup with beef, pork blood (optional), Vietnamese pork rolls) - Bun Moc (thin rice noodles in a pork based soup w/ pork paste 'meatballs') Smoothies are delicious. I really enjoy the avocado and the durian smoothies. For those of you who don't know what durian are, I suggest looking it up or asking to have a whiff of it before you order. It's a very fragrant fruit which people tend to describe as 'stinky' - I personally think it smells delicious, but I have an abnormally odd obsession with durian. If you haven't already, I highly suggest you trying the avocado smoothie. It basically avocado, ice, and condensed milk all blended together. Trust me, it's GOOD. I'm not a fan of their vermicelli noodles, but that's not saying it's bad. This seems to be a family-run restaurant and everyone is really nice. It's pretty spacious and I've never had to wait for a table. Food comes out quick and there are lots of condiments on the table. Seems like they have lots of regulars that come in (way more than I do, and I come here about once a week) since the servers ask if they want the 'usual' and carry personal conversations with each other. I'll definitely continue to support Huong's. They make me miss home a little less every time I dine here. They're the ones that will get me through grad school!

Yelp
Here are all of the reasons why I love Huong's Vietnamese Restaurant 1. They have solid and expertly prepared Vietnamese food and VERY reasonable prices. I have had their Bun noodle bowls, Pho and Lomein and they have all been fresh and filling. They also make very good in house pork dumplings and, in my opinion, the BEST fresh spring rolls in Portland (that is no small statement). 2. They make a limeade that is fresh and very sweet for $2.50. While this might seem kind of steep, they offer unlimited ice water, when mixed with said Limeade, can easily make three normally sweet limeades, a GREAT value! 3. They have a responsive and on point staff. Huong's is run by a tight knit family. A few times when we had questions and a language barrier prevented communication, our server, went in the back and returned with a niece or nephew who could answer ALL of our questions and make recommendations. 4. They are just enough off the beaten path of downtown Portland that there has never been a wait on a Friday or Saturday night. They always seem busy and filled with happy patrons, yet we have never had a hard time getting a table. 5. So far, Huong's has not been discovered by hipsters. Shhhhhhhh. Very quietly, just drive your hungry self over to St John street, slide into a comfortable table and order up. You will leave VERY happy!

Yelp
Ignore the poor reviews on here. Half of these dweebs have never had pho in their life. This place is stellar. The food is fantastic

I absolutely love Vietnamese food. I crave it equally when I'm in a "healthy" kick and when I'm hungover and need pho. Huong's has become my go-to place in Portland for pho, fresh spring rolls, vermicelli, and iced coffee. The food is consistently fresh and well-prepared. The portions are huge and the service is great. Really, there is nothing else I could ask for. If you are looking to slurp your noodles down in a trendy restaurant, this place isn't for you. It's a little off the beaten path and your best bet is to park on a side street.

Yelp
Was surprised to find a decent Pho place all the way here and had to come inside after having my fill of Lobster restaurants around town. Biggest issue was parking. I know its tempting to park in the big lot across the street but I've been burned hard doing that once when I wasnt supposed to and had to pay a lot in towing expenses. So I will never do that again anywhere. I had to circle the area a few times before I was able to catch someone leaving the front if the place. The parking said 15 minute parking but when I asked the server, she said it's ok and not to worry about it. Still felt paranoid so sat near the entrance and kept watch. I ordered their XL beef, tripe and Meatball Pho and my wife ordered their LG one. They only gave us a tiny plate of bean sprouts and Basil, not nearly enough for two large bowls of Pho. Other places would give twice the amount. I'll give them this though, their XL bowl was gigantic. I couldn't finish it even though I was famished. Also got Spring Rolls on the side. They were bomb. But honestly, you really have to try to get spring rolls wrong. Service was also nice. There are a few reasons why I gave this place 4 out of 5 instead of full stars. First, they did not have Tendons for their pho. They "ran out" of them for the day. I get it, it happens but it's my favorite part of pho when I order it. To learn they didnt have it kind of crushed me. Second, they also ran out of Bahn Mi sandwiches. A large part of the reason I came here was because of the pics of them I saw on their Yelp page. Again, a big disappointment. Lastly, as I've mentioned, the parking situation is not optimal. Their pho was decent, not the best I've had by far, but not disappointing either. Service was good and portions were decent. Overall I would recommend but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Yelp
After moving in to Portland, the craving for Vietnamese food was real. Came into Huong's after seeing such high reviews... left Huong's with the worst stomach indigestion ever. They start you with a complimentary Egg Drop Soup. Next, I ordered the Egg Rolls, and proceeded with a Pho Tai. The Egg Rolls, meh, below average. The Pho Tai... the broth was incredibly oily and just did not taste right AT ALL. The noodles were not the usual noodles they serve to you at Vietnamese restaurants. These were strangely thick and didn't taste the same either? I'm not sure what was going on at Huong's that day, but I try to erase all memories of this place.

Yelp
My one star is for the service I got today. I walked in here for the first time after a friend of mine raved about their PHO. As I came in, the girl with the hair in a high bun was so unpleasant. With no smile or any facial expression she said "what do you need?" I made my order, and asked her if she was having a bad day. She said "no" without even looking my way and continued to take my payment. She was so cold to people who came in after me... I like good food. But I also like good service. Not sure I'll be back there again. A smile can go a long way.

Yelp
So I've read the reviews and considered my food choices. I've eaten pho all over the country so I consider myself seasoned in this area. First off the location is on a very busy road, but in a questionable neighborhood. I get it, that can't always be controlled. The interior is about average as well. I ordered chicken pho and chicken spring wraps; easy right? I Noticed as soon as I went to take a bit of my wraps that there was an odd chicken smell. You know that smell from when your chicken is a few days old but you reheat it? That smell. It had the flavor as well. The pho broth was delicious! I must say better than most other places in Portland. Yet they used the same reheated chicken. I'm ok with picking out chicken but fishing out a giant eyebrow hair from the oil chili flakes i had just put in my soup made it a little much. Solid two, won't be going back. Maybe there's another option in this town.

Yelp
friendly staff, decent speed and pricing but some items' quality may have taken a hit. Wasn't bad per se. just other options close by. Will probably be back to try the phô and reassess from there.

Yelp
They have really stepped up their game since this pandemic. It's good to see that they have affiliated with several delivering companies because I can now order from them any time I want(since we are supposed to stay in). I had ordered crab rangoons salty fish fried rice and the oxtail pho ! What a score all three was! Everything tasted so good and I was at the comfort of my home enjoying it. I hope to be able to eat at the restaurant soon when all of this chaos is over. I love the food here !!

Yelp
Used to be our go-to Pho destination in Portland. Had gone probably 20 times in the last two years. Recent owner change and subsequent chef change has prompted me to write this review. The new pho broth is just not the same -- I completely agree with another review that it is totally bland; such a shame, considering how complex and flavorful it was previously. To be clear, I wouldn't call it bad, but was such a downgrade from the previous pho broth. In addition to this, we observed some of the new staff be very curt and rude to another staff member, whom we recognized as someone who worked for the previous owners. To say the least, it left a very bad impression. According to a Portland Press-Herald article, from 9/25/19, there are two restaurants in Portland that the previous owner is involved with in the area: Banh Appetit in Cumberland Ave, and Pho Huong in Monument Square.

Yelp
This was my go to pho destination. But they changed ownership and the brains behind the pot left and I am.afraid it is no longer my first choice. Not even second...

Yelp
My foodie-est friend has been to most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the area and said Huong's is the best. I hadn't been to any Vietnamese restaurants in the area, and I trust her judgement, so we went to Huong's for pho a few nights ago. My big bowl of chicken pho (pho ga) was only $7.95. It was topped with cilantro and scallions, and served with a plate of bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapeño pepper slices, long leaves of culantro (similar to but not the same as cilantro), and Thai basil. The broth was flavorful and the chicken and noodles were tender and plentiful. I could have eaten the whole bowl as it was served, but since it was there, I added culantro and basil, a few beans, a squeeze of lime, a swirl of sriracha, and got started. It was amazing - steamy and fragrant and filling. Eating this pho made me happy! About halfway through the bowl, I was full. Three quarters of the way through I was stuffed and had to quit. I took the rest home and my boyfriend happily consumed it. I'll be glad to try the pho at other restaurants, but it's hard to imagine that it could taste any better anywhere else. Notable details: -the server brought a pot of tea to the table as soon as we sat down. It was a nice tea - jasmine, I think, and the teapot and matching cups were very pretty! -I had a sip of my friend's Vietnamese iced coffee and it was delicious! I can't drink coffee at night because the caffeine keeps me awake but I seriously considered sacrificing a night of sleep and ordering one for myself! -our server was very kind and attentive
